A/N: THERE OMG IM SORRY IT LITERALLY TOOK ME FIVE YEARS TO UPDATE THIS STORY LDFJSLEJFNL
It was so hard to even come up with an idea for a chapter about an episode centered around a character/ship that I can't stand and ironically it's STILL mostly Cade lmao. Anyway, I'm super sorry to those of you that started to get really into this story and then waited 5 years for a chapter omg I feel so bad :( but! I do plan to keep writing as much as I can and updating this whenever I have time. I can't give you an exact timeline, but it's defo not gonna be another 5-year gap between this chapter and the next. But anyway, I'm truly sorry again guys, ily, and I would love to hear your feedback!

- Jade

- Cat
Lemme know how it goes, ttyl
- Jade
"Whoooo ya textin?" asked Tori. It was 9 PM and the two still had three more hours left of the world's most uncomfortable date.
"None of your business," replied Jade, coldly.
"Just tell meee! It's not like there's anything else to talk about," Tori persisted.
"Ugh, Cat," Jade replied exasperatedly, deciding to give in. She knew that Tori would just keep pestering her about it if she didn't.
"Oh! Tell her I say hi!" the brunette requested excitedly.
"No," Jade said without hesitation. Why does she have to be SO annoying? "Ugh, fine. What are you guys talking about?" asked Tori.
"I asked her to kill me so that I can get out of this godforsaken date," Jade answered, smiling at the anticipation of Tori's offended reply.
"Really? Am I THAT difficult for you to be around?" Tori asked, feeling a bit hurt.
"You're insufferable," Jade said without missing a beat.
"Ouch. That's a bit harsh, don't you think?" asked Tori.
"It may be harsh, but it's accurate," Jade answered. After a few moments of awkward silence, Tori spoke up.
"What did I ever do to you?"
"You kissed my boyfriend on the day that we met, for one," Jade said. Is she serious? Jade was astonished at how oblivious Tori was.
"Ex-boyfriend," Tori mumbled under her breath, intended to be too quiet for Jade to hear. But she did. And it hurt her. Shit. Jade cursed herself mentally for slipping up, giving Vega the opportunity to put a chip into one of the walls that she'd put so much effort into building around herself. She had been training herself for months to say "Ex", two foreign letters she'd never had to use before. Beck had been her first real relationship, making him her first real ex. Sure she'd "dated" in the past- if you can really call it that. However, Beck had been the only person she'd ever gone exclusive with. She'd never really put the prefix "ex" in front of anything. Sure, she had "ex-friends", but she never considered them to be her friends in the first place. Just Cat's friends- different people who annoyed her that she was forced to sit next to in middle school. This is why she'd been so excited when she finally got her Hollywood Arts acceptance letter. A fresh start away from everyone she despised, but one that included Cat as well.
"It's literally 9 AM on a Saturday. What the hell do you want?" Jade groggily spoke into the phone. Monday would mark the start of the last week of middle school. She and Cat had both sent in their Hollywood Arts applications on the same day (which was one week past the deadline) months ago. Both of them had figured they'd been tossed out due to being sent in late. After all, they saw some kid named Andre celebrate his acceptance into the school a few weeks ago. If they'd gotten in, they'd have received their letters at the same time, right? As this made the most logical sense (and thirteen-year-old Jade followed logic as if it were a religion), they were both sure they'd end up going to some normal, academic high school next year. And because of this, Jade had been in an even pissier mood and Cat had been in a slightly sadder mood than usual for the last few weeks.
"DID YOU OPEN THE MAIL YET?" Cat basically screeched into the phone.
"What? No, you literally just woke me up fifteen seconds ago. It'd be literally impossible for me to get downstairs that fast." Jade rolled her eyes.
"I GOT MY LETTER! I MADE IT INTO HOLLYWOOD ARTS!" Cat squealed on the other line. Jade said nothing. She wasn't sure
what to say. This was it. She was going to go to the mailbox, and see nothing but overdue bills that her dad had yet to pay, again. Cat's going to Hollywood Arts, and I'm going to Basic Bitch High, and in six months from now, she'll completely forget about me. "Jadey? Are you still there? Did you hear what I just said?" Cat questioned, sounding a bit concerned.
"Uh, yeah Cat. Good job. Congrats. I'm gonna go back to bed now." Jade sighed into the phone, getting ready to roll over and try to dream about what'd it'd be like if they both made it in, together.
"NO DON'T!" Cat shouted into the phone. Jade instantly pulled it away from her ear.
"Okay, you really need to stop yelling because I don't think that we can afford hearing aids right now." Jade tried to keep her cool. She'd have snapped at anyone else but for some reason, Cat didn't annoy her as much as she should've.
"Sorry," the redhead whispered. Jade rolled her eyes yet again. "But you got in too!" she announced at an acceptable volume. Wait, what?
"Cat, how could you possibly know that...?" the raven-haired girl asked hesitantly.
"I- Well I- Um..." she stuttered.
"SPIT IT OUT!"
"Wooow look who's yelling now... anyway... I went through your mail..." Cat told her. HUH?
"HUH? BEFORE 9 AM? WHEN?" Jade was furious. Slightly amused at the redhead's antics, sure, but furious nonetheless.
"Oh, well, right now actually! Did I forget to say that I was outside? My bad..."
"I'm sorry, what?" Jade asked. She heard what Tori said, but she wanted to challenge her. She won't repeat it. She's only a smartass when (she thinks) no one can hear her.
"Nothing," Tori said, a bit concerned. She hadn't realized that Jade heard her. Classic, gutless Vega.
"No, repeat it. What did you say, Vega?" Jade insisted, this time much more annoyed.
"I said, 'EX-boyfriend.' He's your ex now," Tori repeated, feeling a bit guilty for bringing it up in the first place.
"No shit, really? Oh, wait I remember now. You're talking about that big, dramatic emotional night that happened at your house in front of everyone, right? Thanks for the reminder, I almost forgot," Jade snarked. A more awkward silence followed.
"I'm sorry. That was kind of out of line," Tori spoke up, breaking the silence. She started to feel bad and questioned why she had said anything at all.
"Cool, whatever," Jade replied, coldly. Tori wasn't sure whether or not that meant her apology was accepted. She figured it probably wasn't, considering who she was talking to.
"I'm going to pee," Jade announced.
"I'll come with!" Tori said, standing up.
"Ew, no. All girls don't have to go to the bathroom together, just the basic ones, like you, for instance." Tori rolled her eyes. Apology not accepted. "Just like, watch our shit," Jade scoffed. She headed to the bathroom, alone, and found a stall that looked at least halfway clean. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she began typing a message to her favorite redhead.
I'm about to lose it
- Jade
huh? why?
- Cat
She's literally rubbing the break-up in my face. I'm pissed.
- Jade
what? why would she do that? that doesn't sound like her :(
- Cat
I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I called her insufferable
- Jade
jadey, thats really mean :(
- Cat
I know.
- Jade
you should apologize :/
- Cat
I'm not sorry and I'm not lying to her about that
- Jade
How are things with your brother?
- Jade
better, i guess. i got them to stop screaming at each other
- Cat
Nice job. What were they fighting about this time?
- Jade
they found out he was only pretending to take his meds. he's been off of them for like 2 weeks now
- Cat
Shit, thats awful. Is he okay?
- Jade
he should be fine. its just gonna take a bit for his meds to start working again
- Cat
"Jade? You okay?" a familiar voice asked from outside of the stall. Jade groaned. Are you fucking kidding me?
"What the hell, Vega?! You're seriously checking on me in the bathroom? Are you my mom now?" Jade asked incredulously.
"No! I just- It's just that it's been like ten minutes, and you keep going to the bathroom and I thought that maybe-" Tori rambled.
"I could be shitting? Or maybe that I could have some debilitating medical condition that causes my stomach to hurt all the time? That maybe I have IBS and am incredibly embarrassed about it?" Jade replied.
"Oh... I- Well... Do you?" Tori asked.
"NO!" Jade hissed. "I'm avoiding spending time with you now LEAVE!" She commanded, listening to the rushed footsteps leaving the bathroom.
Just did the IBS thing w/ vega lmao
- Jade
you mean like that time when robbie walked in on you at that one party and you made him feel so guilty he peed? :/
- Cat
Basically, but funnier bc it's tori
- Jade
jadeyyy :/ that's really mean :(
- Cat
She wasn't sure why her friend didn't find the humor in the situation and it kind of irritated her. Wait, does she think...
She didn't pee herself cat
- Jade
oh! well that's a bit better
- Cat
did her face get red? o.o
- Cat
Jade rolled her eyes, which she found herself doing frequently during most conversations with Cat. She really didn't feel like explaining the fact that obviously, she couldn't see Tori's face through the stall, so she decided to humor the girl. Jade was usually brutally honest and blunt with her, and Cat didn't mind, but Jade knew that her friend probably had a horrible night. She usually did when she's forced to get in between her parents and her brother, but she couldn't help it. Cat felt like that was her role in the house: the mediator, and a lot of times, the comic relief as well.
Oh definitely, total strawberry im telling you
- Jade
oh then that's super funny xD i love it when peoples faces change colors! its like,, thats not usually what they look like hahaha xD
- Cat
Lol yep. Hilarious
- Jade
She put her phone back into her pocket and decided it was time to get back to her horrible date. Her phone buzzed once more as she put her hand on the bathroom door.
hey maybe u could look for cute guys or smth while ur there! then you wont feel like you wasted your night if you find some!
- Cat
Will do
- Jade
