An Old Question Chapter 1

Okay this was a thought I had during my other story, then three episodes later I started writing this. Enjoy also props to you if you get why this title.

:Chapter Start:

Narration-fads from black revealing an image of a book that starts to fall apart and is replaced with different multiple coloured books of different covers.

Legends, stories of heroics and forgotten history. The land of Remnant is filled with them some forgotten some remembered again with time. Overtime some legends are buried to be forgotten and to never return, unless they were found by a soul not realising their power.

Night before Initiation-Grand Ballroom-with a boy wearing a bunny onsie.

A blond teenage boy was lying on a sleeping bag staring at the roof, feeling somewhat guilty. The reason, this is Jaune Arc, and he forged papers in order to get a chance to come to Beacon Academy.

Beacon Academy is not your regular school, in truth it is a school where warriors become Huntsmen that act as mercenaries and monster hunters against the creatures of Grimm, black monsters of different shapes normally wearing bone-like masks.

Jaune was silent as he thought about what he has done, many would question how Jaune managed to get forged papers to enter the school. The answer, he found the documents that he needed to get into the school using his own writing skills because honestly he was good at one thing, and that was his use of a pen. Though he was really surprised that it apparently worked, considering his used paper and pen in an age where electronic tablets are the norm. So here he was, a teenage boy with no previous experience as he pretended to be a picture of confidence only it was all fake, the only reason that Jaune was not completely freaking out was because of an old family charm that was just as old as the Family Sword and Shield, but even with his charms support he just could not go to sleep. So he pulled out from his pack an old journal and a ink pen and started writing in the dark, about a boy who fights a giant in a forest in the clouds on top of a giant beanstalk.

In the rafters above was the principle of Beacon Academy, wearing a green suit with a mechanical cane, his spectical covered face was framed with grey hair. The reason being that he was interested in a couple students, one of them being Jaune Arc. He was not the first to forge documents to enter Beacon Academy nor would he be the last. Principle Ozpin takes a sip of his coffee while staring at Jaune only to pause at the sight of him using a pen and paper, with a raised eyebrow before walking away deep in thought.

Below Jaune continued to write through the night before dawn awoke the rest of the students before a girl with red hair and silver eyes wearing pink pants and a black tank top with a wolf's head and says, "Jaune, were you awake all night?" she took the journal from Jaune and says, "Wow, you wrote this?"

Jaune feeling a little uncomfortable says, "Yeah, I just get these ideas. What do you think Ruby?"

Ruby read what had been written before commenting, "You did not get to the ending. How does it end?"

Jaune frowns at that and says, "I can never find the right words for endings," with that Jaune accepted his journal back and proceeded walk to the mens changing room while Ruby went to the womens rooms. They would meet again for breakfast before going to the Rocket Locker room where Jaune would struggle to find his weapons while talking with a white haired heiress and the Haven Battle Tournament Champion that Jaune only recognised when a mention of a breakfast cereal he enjoys was mentioned. Jaune then was pinned to a wall for a short period of time before the champion freed him, this campion was wearing bronze armour styled so that it appeared Roman, with flowing red hair and welding a circular shield and a red spear that transforms into a Javelin, rifle and sword, her name is Pyrrha Nikos. The Heiress was wearing a winter styled short skirted dress, this is Wiess Schnee.

Now Jaune was pinned to the wall when Pyrrha's weapon misfired pinning him to a pillar where he finds his sword in white sheath having been dumped into a trash can. Pyrrha walked past and leaving Jaune to fall to the ground and walking out the locker room with Wiess trying to convince her to join her team.

Ruby wearing a black and red battle dress with a large red cloak flowing behind her. Ruby sees Jaune on the floor and asks, "What did you say?"

Jaune sighs and says, "I don't get it, my dad said that girls like a guy with confidence. What did I do wrong?"

A blonde girl Jaune's age small biking clothes, blonde hair that reached below her butt, and two yellow bracelets and combat boots. This girl is Yang, Ruby's older sister. Yang says, "Starting with the Ice Queen was probably a bad idea."

Jaune frowns as he asks, "What do you mean?" he was genuinely confused by what the girl meant.

Ruby answered, "She is easily angered, remember," she points at herself, "Crater Face," Jaune nods in understanding before the group started heading towards the Eastern Cliff above the Emerald Forest.

Unknown location-Ten minutes later

A dark figure spoke holding a white pocket book, staring at several humans bowing to the Dark Figure was looking to them, "Vale," the humans understand before they all left quickly and proceeded to ensure their mistress plans were started. "Cinder, begin creating the foothold."

An orb was lowered and a voice was heard, "It shall be done my mistress."

Edge of the Emerald Forest-Just before the start of initiation-Opposite end of the forest from Beacon Academy.

A woman with red hair wearing a red dress and glass high heels, her hair is ash black as she pulled out what appeared to be a brown book with miniature chains that she opens causing books to appear before they stacked into a humanoid form before becoming what appeared to be miniature giant with hands and an angry appearance. The woman looked to the monster before pulling out two other books, one white and the other grey and titled, 'Genbu Shinwa,' both were handed to the monster giving the red book on its chest a green glow. The monster laughs at the added power and started walking into the forest.

After being launched through the air and into the Emerald Forest-Half hour after start of initiation.

Jaune sighs stuck in a tree, he was the only possible student this year that apparently did not have a 'Landing Strategy,' which made him realise that getting in probably was not the problem. Jaune sighs loudly as he waited Weiss spotting him and then leaving him from Ruby. Jaune would have called out for them, but figured that Weiss would not help him and not let Ruby help him. 'Oh well,' Jaune was thinking, 'Maybe I can think of an ending for my story.' He crossed his arms in though for another half hour when Pyrrha arrived.

"Jaune?" Pyrrha questioned from below, "Is there still a spot on your team?"

"Yeah," Jaune joked, "We meet on Tuesdays." Pyrrha chuckles before her weapon suddenly was pulled from the tree and Jaune fell to the ground. Jaune groans after landing on the ground in pain. Jaune groans and says, "Very funny," before his face slammed into the ground.

Pyrrha says, "I'm sorry," before helping him up.

Jaune stands and thinks, "So do you know which way is north?"

Pyrrha frowns at that before asking, "Are you sure you don't know the way?"

Jaune looked at her like that was the dumbest question that she could ask before Jaune says, "I am a guy. Of course I have no idea where I am going."

Pyrrha looked at him strangely before bursting into laughter and says, "You are really fun to be around."

Jaune shrugs before saying, "Apparently it comes naturally."

Pyrrha smiles before directing Jaune North where they walked the distance, with Pyrrha leading the way, opposite to where Weiss and Ruby went, they walked along an old path that was over grown with pklants until Pyrrha slapped him in the face with a random branch. Jaune was sent to the ground quickly in pain, alerting Pyrrha to Jaune's situation. Pyrrha asks, "Why did you not use your Aura to protect yourself."

Jaune was silent for a moment before saying, "What is an Aura?"

Pyrrha was surprised before asking, "How did you get into Beacon Academy without an Aura?"

Jaune simply answered, "I got my hands on the application forms and applied," surprising Pyrrha as she knew that without previous experience or combat training.

Pyrrha stepped over to Jaune and asks, "Do you have your Aura activated?"

Jaune frowns at that before admitting, "No, but I doubt I can activate it during initiation," Jaune laugh in self deprecating laugh until Pyrrha placed a hand over his heart and the other on his head as she smiles. Jaune asks, "What are you doing?"

"Activating your Aura," Pyrrha states with that she begins an ancient chant, one that has changed over time by has had the same meaning, "It is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death." With that Pyrrha glowed red while Jaune glowed white with a flash of red inside his pocket unseen by the two. Once the light dimmed Pyrrha collapsed into Jaune's arms.

"Wow, are you okay?" Jaune questions in shock.

Pyrrha breaths deeply and says, "Yeah, just drained you have a lot of Aura," Jaune helps her sit down on the log as she caught her breath. Pyrrha smiles at the support as Jaune sat next to her and Pyrrha asks, "So why did you want to be a Huntsman?"

Jaune was silent before commenting, "Father, grandfather and great grandfather where all great huntsmen, wanted to do the proud. Only they did not have the patience to train me," Jaune was somewhat sombre before he smiles and says, "Just have to prove them wrong," Jaune stood and helped Pyrrha to stand and they continued their journey to the Northern Temple. They continued to walk North until they came across a cave with old cave paintings on the outside, that appeared to have sit figure men hunting a giant scorpion. Pyrrha was about to walk in until Jaune grabbed her arm and says, "You don't want to go in there," he pointed to the cave painting.

Pyrrha frowns and asks, "What is the issue? This cave could lead to the Northern Temple."

"There is a Deathstalker in there," Jaune states pointing at the story on the wall surprising Pyrrha.

Pyrrha frowns but agrees to listen to Jaune and the pair go around the cave while deep inside, the Deathstalker shifted and the cave around it started to break and the Scorpion Grimm started digging itself out of the ground.

Jaune and Pyrrha quickly walked into a large clearing where Yang could be seen with a black dressed and haired girl with a bow, along with an orange haired girl wearing pink and a green dressed boy with black hair. Jaune started running as a shout was coming from above them and as Jaune was half way to the temple had Ruby crash into him from above.

Ruby groans as she sat up on Jaune and when he groans in pain Ruby says, "Thank you Jaune."

Ruby then saw Yang and rushed to her side while Jaune was calmly getting to his feet where he hears Weiss screaming to Ruby about being left behind as Pyrrha got to Jaune's side to help him stand and when he took two steps towards the temple and had Weiss crash land on him again and he groans as he says, "Why me?" and has his face fall into the mud.

Weiss ignores Jaune as Pyrrha helped Jaune to the temple as suddenly a Deathstalker roared as it destroyed the trees in its way. Yang suddenly shouts, "GREAT NEVERMORES AND DEATHSTALKERS! WHAT NEXT? A SUPERVILLAIN!"

Yang's comment was met with a loud laugh and the eight hopeful students of Beacon, turned to look at the top of the circular Northern Temple where they see the strange monster made of books. The creature opened a white book that causes Jaune's eyes to widen at the shape. The monster opens the book resulting the ground of the area and about half the Emerald Forest was captured inside a golden book that had its pages turned and those inside the book vanished.

On the Eastern Cliff overlooking the Emerald Forest

Ozpin stared at the golden book in the distance and says to a blonde woman who appears to be dressed in a combination of a witch and a school teacher holding a riding crop, "Glynda Contact Espada, Salem is making her move on Vale."

Glynda frowns and says, "He was on his way back from a mission this morning, it will take him two hours to reach the Emerald Forest."

Ozpin frowns and says, "Then hopefully our students will be able to survive those two hours," he was lying through his teeth with that last comment.

With Jaune and the others

Jaune and Ruby quickly grabbed their relics, chest pieces a white knight for Ruby and a white rook for Jaune. The eight started running away from the temple, two Grimms and book monster. Everything the Grimms and Book Monster attacked caused the world around them to burn like a book as the trees around them unravelled. They were running back to the cliffs only to come across another temple this one more overgrown and spread out. They ran through the temple village and crashed into an invisible wall at the edge of the booked area and the eight looked past the wall where they see that they were not on Remnant anymore, the flying Whales really gave it away.

Along with the dragons, floating rocks, plants and in the distance a giant stone sword statue in the distance. Everyone paused at the sights before Yang, Ruby and Nora started taking pictures on their personal communication devices, completely forgetting that they were being chased. Jaune shouts, "Bad time, hide in the temple," with that everyone rushed to the temple as the book monster was destroying everything while the Nevermore and Deathstalker was destroying the forest around them. They rushed to the temple as Pyrrha covered them with her rifle before a flying white hand tried to rush her in the side only for Jaune to jump in the way with his shield in the path of the fist that knocked Jaune back painfully and into a temple causing the temple to collapse on him as his shield was heavily damaged and his sword snapped. Jaune was buried under a rubble.

Ruby and Pyrrha shouts, "Jaune," Jaune groans as his weapons were destroyed and all he had left was his old family charm. Jaune was able to move around somewhat as he could reach into his pocket and pulled out a small book with a simple title, 'Brave Dragon.'

Jaune stares at the book and says, "This will not be how the story ends," he struggles under the rubble as he says, "I have to help my friends!" the book glowed before the rubble was incinerated as Jaune was able to stand as the Brave Dragon book glowed and a new voice was heard, -There was once a God Beast possessing a power that would destroy everything.- As the story was read a red serpent dragon flew around the area while his fellow students were fighting the Grimm and the book monster. The only one who noticed Jaune standing with a red dragon flying around him as a large sword was seen in the middle of an inferno. Jaune stared at the sword before walking into the fire as he speaks, "A blade, forge in the fires of a dragon tempered with time," Jaune reached forward as flames hotter than the sun, "Those who brave the fires hotter than the sun, will either be consumed or gain a power that had not been seen since times forgotten," Jaune reaches the sword and grasps the handle and Jaune continues as everyone actually noticed him, the book monster actually had charged him only for the Red dragon blasted it away as Jaune continued, "A blade of flame to purify the world of evil," with that he drew the sword and held it aloft as the fires around him were absorbed into the blade resulting in the sword shrinking revealing a small silver handled blade with red insignia on the guard while inside a black sheath that appears to have three slots. –Holy Blade Driver!- Jaune placed the weapon on his waist before having the Brave Dragon book in his hand as he concludes, "By the hands of one worthy! HENSHIN!"

Jaune inserted the book into the slot closest to the swords handle before drawing the blade resulting in the sword becoming a full length one handed sword that glowed red with fire, the book on the and Jaune slashed twice on the diagonals creating a cross of fire that cut the Deathstalker into quarters from his position before the cross of fire came back to Jaune while he was in a starting position. –Draw Sword! Brave Dragon~! One Rekka Book! When the courageous dragon and Kaenken Rekka meet, the Crimson Sword will penetrate Evil!- Jaune's form changed so that his right side was red with a Dragon head acting as shoulder armour along with his right side of his helmet, his centre was white while the top of his head was a sword horn, and his left side was black without distinguishing features.

Everyone's reactions were different, the orange haired girl was screaming in excitement, the black haired boy, Weiss, the black haired girl were silent. Ruby was staring at his sword with stars, Yang was too busy being in the mouth of a Nevermore, giant bird Grimm. Pyrrha was curious in what happened to Jaune.

Jaune looks to his new sword and says, "Holy Sword Rekka? Nice to meet you," with that he charged the Book Monster and slashes the monster as a red book on its chest before standing still and the flaming blade bounced off of the monster before the two white hands on its large head shot forward causing Jaune to block with the blade.

The monster says, "Hand over that sword and Wonder Ride Book! That is our power!"

Jaune managed to get enough give to throw the two hands back at the monster and then the Nevermore that was ignoring the monster before saying, "No, family heirloom. But I will be taking your Wonder Books!" pointing his sword at the Monster. The monster growls before pulling out the white page and started flipping the page, resulting in the golden book they were fighting in to flip the page and change the battle location causing Jaune to fall from a great height until he landed on the large stone sword specifically on the guard. Jaune looked around before noticing the golden book in the distance on top of a large bean stalk. Jaune frowns under his helmet before dodging a rock that was thrown at him by the monster on the ground below. Jaune slashed through several rocks and boulders. Jaune then jumps down slashing through debris as he reached the monster below and knocked the two back to their starting location in the ruined temple as Ruby, Yang and Pyrrha, was working with the other defeating the Nevermore. Jaune stood across from the book monster as it roared and smashed the ground as rubble and debris was absorbed into the book monster before it became a Book Giant. Jaune avoided the arms swipes as he slashed the giant's ankles before Jaune sheathed his sword while facing away from the Book Giant as his flames intensified as he unconsciously channelled his Aura into his weapon as he says, "I will write the end of this story!" he pulled the trigger and jumped into the air as he drew his weapon and decapitating the Book Giant causing it to explode. A green glow revealed itself from the explosion as Jaune turned around and caught another Wonder Ride book. Jaune was staring at this new book as the Nevermore was flying back to the golden book only for the pages to turn and the Nevermore to be cut in half as the golden book returned to the Remnant. Jaune sighs loudly as they look towards where the Eastern Cliff was located took a deep breath, the damages done to the world around them reversed.

With Ozpin-just as the book was returning the group.

Ozpin watched as the book returned and appeared upset as he expected the contents to have been destroyed. Only that is not what happened, instead the portion of the world that had been taken had returned undamaged. Ozpin was silent as Glynda used her tablet and sighs in relief and says, "You should have told me that you found a new knight."

Ozpin pulls up his tablet while taking a sip of his coffee only to freeze and drop his piping hot coffee on the ground in shock, surprising Glynda before she heard him whispering, "Kamen Rider Saber," causing Glynda's eyes to also widen before Ozpin says, "After the ceremony have Jaune go to my office. Fortunately it appears that they have their relics," Ozpin walked away reviewing the different teams and choosing the leaders of teams depending on their performance, though there is one choice that he knows will work even if they don't think so.

An hour after the team placement-team JNPR's room.

Jaune sighs as he lays in his bed, he had been named team leader of this team of student Huntsmen and Huntresses. His team, besides himself and Pyrrha, includes Nora Valkeryie, the orange haired girl and Lie Ren, the black haired boy from earlier. Currently his teammates where going over their school uniforms, he would be doing the same except that his was not there and he believes that he knows why. Jaune lifted the HolySword Driver to his face as he could get a better look at the item while thinking about what happened during the initiation. Jaune sighs again as he stares on the roof before Pyrrha asks, "Everything all right Jaune?"

Jaune looked over to Pyrrha as she was trying on her new school uniform, which is black with copper trim. Jaune simply says, "Just thinking about today," there was a knock on the door and Jaune stands from his bed and answers the door, when it was open Jaune says, "Miss Goodwitch."

Glynda Goodwitch looked down on Jaune before saying, "Mister Arc, please come with me. The head master wishes to speak with you," Jaune nods placing his Holy Sword Driver behind his back as he followed the Deputy Headmistress towards the tower of Beacon Academy. They walked in silence until they reached the elevator that would take them to the Headmasters office. Goodwitch stayed at the door while directing Jaune inside where the head master silently directed Jaune to a seat opposite his desk.

Ozpin was silently staring at Jaune as he waited to be expelled. Ozpin finally spoke, "You have left me in a difficult situation."

Jaune nods and says, "I understand."

"Normally," Ozpin starts, "We let those who tricked their way into my school, and give them the choice of leaving or to explain why they did it. You have placed yourself into a more difficult position where you don't have a choice."

Jaune simply says, "I just wanted to be a huntsman."

Ozpin sighs and says, "And you will be. That Holy Sword Driver you have be chosen to wield means that you have to be more than a Huntsman, you have to be a Knight," Jaune was confused as he fully expected to have been expelled. Ozpin continued, "You no longer have the option to quit, Mister Arc, so now you will be leaning from an instructor," to the side a door hidden by a book shelf opened and a white rider with a golden left arm and a yellow ring as the visor, while the Holy Sword Driver's sword had a yellow guard. "This is Kamen Rider Espada, you will be receiving training and experience. May I see your Wonder Ride Books?" Jaune handed over both books causing Ozpin's eyes to widen and start laughing, "I must say Mister Arc, you have done the name Sabre good. Genbu Shinwa, is a Wonder Ride book that has been lost for centuries and you retrieved it during your first battle," Jaune rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment before Ozpin continues as he reaches into the draw next to him and says, "I will hold onto Genbu Shinwa, while you have this returned to you."

Jaune was handed a strange Wonder Ride Book, Diago Speedy, Jaune looked at the strange book as it was larger than the others until he opened the cover where it transformed into a full size bike and landed on him knocking him down to the ground, "Ow," getting Espada to pinch where his nose would be.

Ozpin then continued, "That is your stead, Kamen Rider Saber."

"My back," Jaune groans in pain.

For those curious as to why I did another Kamen Rider and RWBY crossover, the reason is simple Kamen Rider Saber is awesome and it reminded me of RWBY's lore. I hope you enjoyed, please leave a review or comment if you have questions and I will try to answer them in the next update.
