Ron grunted as he hit the ground hard and rolled to use the momentum from the hit to get back on his feet to avoid the energized fist of Shego. 'I wish KP were here,' Ron mentally sighed as he thought of the day's events that led to him being in the situation he was in.
Kim reached over and hugged Ron goodbye, knowing she wouldn't see him for the next week as her family was going up North for her Uncle Slim's wedding. Seems that he had found a nice lady after some time and decided to remarry.
"Well Rufus, it's just you and me," Ron sighed as he watched the family vehicle drive into the distance on its way to the airport. "Well, it's not too bad, we'll get the guys and just hang, you know?" Ron tried to play off the loneliness as something he was accustomed too and in a way he was. You had to have a certain mentality to not get down in the dumps when you had parents who always took off and in some cases never see them for days on end or even longer than a week. That's why he loved the Possibles, they included him in as much as they reasonably could, but those times where they went to family events always reminded him that he wasn't family, he was just KP's friend.
Kicking a rock off the sidewalk he headed back into his empty house. "Maybe I'll just do my homework for once," Ron muttered as while he hated doing his homework, if he had nothing better to do, he might as well try to avoid getting a detention from Mr. B. if he could avoid it.
"Shego!" Dr. Drakken screamed as he stood in their new lair. The henchwoman looked up from her magazine she had been reading and waited for her employer to get on with his dramatics. "I have come to a brilliant conclusion."
"Oh boy, this'll be good," Shego rolled her eyes as she couldn't wait to hear what "dastardly" plan was doomed to failure this week. "Let me guess, another weather machine?"
"No, that is next week's plan," Dr. Drakken dismissed the sarcasm. "This time I'm choosing something a bit more simple," the blue mad man cackled. "We're going to go to Middleton high and just beat the crap out Possible." He proudly declared his "brilliant" plan.
"I…" Shego blinked as she had to be mistaken. "You want to just… go to a public place… and start a fight?"
"Of course, we get enough goons and Possible will be too distracted with making sure that everyone is safe that she will be unable to fight back effectively," Dr. Drakken grinned as it had taken him four whole nights to write out how this plan would work. He pulled up a slide show showing Kim Possible, with stink lines added for extra effect, standing in front of stick figures that said dumb civilians. As he worked through the slides showing Kim Possible's defeat and his triumph over a high school cheerleader, Shego was of two minds.
'It's the most basic plan he's ever schemed up but, it's also the most sensible plan too,' Shego had to relent as everything else he had done was overly complicated and failed because Princess and her sidekick came to thwart them, but going to strike first wasn't something they regularly did and even when they did, it was with complex plans that fell apart due to one detail or another. "This might actually work," Shego said after going over the pros and cons of the plan.
"Good, we strike after school on Monday," Dr. Drakken said. "She'll be at cheer practice and won't have any of her extra gadgets because she'll be in that tight little uniform instead."
"What was that?" Shego looked up at her boss in confusion.
"I said I had cameras watching a teenage girl without her knowledge or consent to learn her schedule and habits, all to use it to strike when she was most vulnerable?" Dr. Drakken replied as if Shego was the weird one.
"Rrrriiiight," Shego said slowly. "We're going to have to have a talk later about boundaries." She added on as she knew the man had no idea how he came across sometimes. She honestly thought if he wasn't such a buffoon then he'd be more of a threat. 'Kind of like Zorpox,' she thought as just remembering the truly evil villain that was Princess's sidekick sent a shiver down her spine.
Ron shuffled down the hall before the first period already feeling a tad depressed without his best friend by his side. "Hey Loser," Bonnie called out when she saw Ron walking towards his locker. "Where's Possible?"
"Gone for the week," Ron answered as he opened his locker. "Her Uncle Slim is getting married."
"And why aren't you with them then?" Bonnie smirked as she watched the boy load up his backpack with books and other things he'd need.
"It was a… family event," Ron sighed.
"Oh that has to sting." Bonnie chortled. "Well we have practice this afternoon so don't be late," she said before the normal bullies showed up to accost Ron, having been waiting until Bonnie finished talking to the team mascot so they didn't interrupt her.
Ron managed to limp his way into his first class just before the final bell rang and taking a spot in the back he did his best to focus, but after getting roughed up he wasn't really in the mood to listen to his teacher drone on about whatever subject it was. He elected to instead just drift through the classes he had to try and make the least of the day before he had to spend his time around the cheerleaders without KP there to be someone he could talk to.
This was how he managed to be the designated punching bag for all of Drakken's henchmen and Shego. "Where is Possible?!" Drakken shouted in annoyance as he hadn't seen his redheaded bane anywhere on the field as the other cheerleaders huddled together for safety.
"She's not here Drakken," Ron chimed in as he quickly sized up the foes surrounding them. "Maybe come back for an autograph next week." He chuckled as he could see Drakken's blue face turn a shade of purple in frustration.
"Whatever, henchmen kick the crap out of the sidekick then rough up the other cheerleaders I guess, might as well do something since we came all the way out here," Dr. Drakken waved for his hired goons to attack.
"Oh great," Ron grumbled as he realized he couldn't do what he normally did and avoid the henchmen and find the self-destruct button to end the conflict this time. He'd have to stand his ground to make sure the other cheerleaders weren't assaulted. He quickly pulled out his Kimmunicator hoping to contact Wade so he could send any backup when the device was blasted out of his hand by a well placed ball of plasma from Shego. "Aww man," Ron groaned as he couldn't afford to check if the device was still functional or not with the over dozen men rushing him armed with various weapons.
Knowing that he had to control the flow of the fight he rolled under the first swing of a power staff and kicked off the ground planting his fist in another's jaw sending him flying back and out of the fight.
"Huh," Shego mused as she watched the sidekick get his hits in on the henchmen. "Seems you should hire better help if even a sidekick if beating these goons up." Shego taunted Drakken for his incompetent help.
"Hah, you think these are my normal henchmen, no these are Professor Dementor's, I got them on loan for the week," Drakken smirked. "My henchmen are leagues above that posers in terms of quality."
Rolling her eyes at the bragging from her boss, Shego turned to see that the sidekick was holding up pretty well against the superior goons.
"Oh gosh," Tara gasped as she watched Ron throw down with the massive armed thugs. "I didn't know he could fight so well."
"It makes sense I guess," Hope shrugged. "If Kim and him are going off all the time to "save the world" as they say they are. They'd probably have to fight these guys all the time," realizing it wouldn't really make sense for supposed super heroes to not be able to fight.
"What I don't get," Jessica pondered as she watched Ron get tackled onto the grass by one guy with another leaping on top of him to try and pummel the teen only to get struck by a backhanded fist before Ron started pounding on the guy who was still on top of him, getting him to loosen his grip enough that Ron could bring his knee into a solid hit on the goon's ribcage. "Is if he can fight like this, why does he get beat up by the football team all the time?"
It was Crystal's turn to gasp. "He's deliberately holding back," realizing that it was because Ron didn't want to fight why the other students.
"Whatever, he's still a loser," Bonnie muttered as she didn't want to give a compliment to the guy now more than ever.
"Okay," Shego grunted as she joined the fight, the henchmen while getting in a number of hits were all but taken out by Ron who was sporting a few bruises but was still going strong. "Time for Round Two," she said as she ignited her hands and leaped at Ron who blocked the strike which send him rolling across the field.
"Shego, I was… wondering when you'd… get bored sitting on the sidelines," Ron chuckled as he got back on his feet and took the fighting stance he'd learned from Master Sensei.
"Yeah well," the villainess smirked. "I figured I'd get a little bit of fun since I don't have Princess to throw around," charging at the teen who knew he wasn't as agile as KP so wouldn't be able to dodge and evade the attacks, leaving him with only one option.
"Oh ho ho, going to face me head on?" Shego questioned excitedly as she had expected the sidekick to run with his tail between his legs. "I don't know if it's because you're brave or stupid?"
"Can't it be a little of both Shego," Ron chuckled as he felt a rib crack when Shego landed a punch to his chest, but in taking the hit he was able to land a blow of his own. "Oh that's going to smarts," he hissed as he really felt the power behind Shego's punches.
"Not bad," Shego mused as she rubbed her arm where Ron had kicked it. "I'm still going to win, but at least I won't be wasting my time." Grinning as she threw herself back into the fight with the young man who was being quickly overwhelmed by Shego's superior power and skill.
He'd somehow ended up in the bleachers as their fight moved across the field and now the uneven footing added an extra layer of danger to the fight as he had to ensure that when he was backing up or sent back from the force of Shego's hits he wasn't knocked onto his back by tripping over a seat.
"You know, if you keep this up I might just fight you every time," Shego smiled. "You're much more fun than Princess, she never wants to actually fight."
"She's smarter than me, that's probably why she doesn't do something like this," Ron panted as he swung a hook that Shego blocked then returned a palm strike to his face, dazing him and making him stumble back.
"Seems you're on your last legs Stoppable," Shego said, deciding that he had moved up from Sidekick in her head to someone she would remember their name of. "But…" she trailed off blasting Ron in the gut with her energy beams, that sent him soaring over the railing and back onto the grass which softened his fall enough to not further break anything in Ron.
The force had rolled him back over to the cheerleaders who were terrified at seeing Ron's fight with the dangerous woman. He could barely stay conscious as he could hear Shego walking towards him. "Don't worry," her voice swimming in his head as he looked up at her with the one eye that hadn't swollen shut. "I'll let you see me destroy these preppy little bitches at least, won't that be fun." Shego's voice taunting him as she ignited her hands. Ron could see the other girls bunch up in fear for what Shego would likely do to them that he was able to ignore the pain in his joints as he stood up again.
"Hey, Shego!" Ron called out as he wobbled on tired legs. Seeing that she looked back towards him. "Round three," he said raising his fists against to keep the fight going, the longer he kept this up the greater the chance that someone would come to help, and he could take a few more minutes going one on one with the super powered woman.
A feral grin graced Shego's face as she turned back towards Ron. "Oh you really know how to get my blood pumping," she purred as she was ready to dish out more pain to the sidekick. However the fight would have to be held off as Dr. Drakken shouted over to her.
"We have to go, Possible isn't here, so stop playing with the buffoon, the cops are on their way," Dr. Drakken ordered as the henchmen hobbled back onto the vehicle to leave the area.
Shego contemplated continuing her brawl with Ron but ultimately relented as she didn't want to spend a few extra days in lock up just to have a few more minutes of fun. "Later Stoppable," Shego blew the barely standing teen a kiss. "We'll continue this fight later." Waving as the door shut and they departed from the school yard.
It took Ron a minute to fully absorb that the fight was over and it wasn't until the other cheerleaders rushed over to check on him that he finally let his guard down.
Their statements of concern fell on his deaf ears as they all tried to talk over each other. "So you're all okay?" Ron said as he looked at their faces.
"Yeah, you did it Ron." Liz nodded as she, like the rest of the squad, was impressed by Ron's fortitude. "The bad guys left."
"Oh yeah, count that as a win for the Ron Man, booyah," he said weakly before he fell face forward completely out of it as the long battle had taken all of his energy.
