Once upon a time, there were three girls. Amu Hinamori was a pink haired girl who everyone thinks is cool and spicy. Yaya Yuiki was a candy-loving blonde girl with twintails. Utau Hoshina was an idol singer. However, these three have a secret. They're only half human. Utau is half bat (but not a vampire), Yaya is half bunny, and Amu is half wolf (but not a werewolf). They moved from there old city to be safe since someone found out their secret. They have little guardians that shrink into a keychain when in public and when they're alone they turn to normal size. What will happen to them on their first day of school?

Chapter 1: Meet the trio

Amu woke up. "Ugh, first day of my new school" she thought. She took a shower, got dressed and headed downstairs for breakfast. She is suddenly greeted by her guardian, a pink wolf named Ran. "Amu-chan! You're finally awake!" she said. "Huh, what do you mean?" said Amu. "We were waiting for you for 10 minutes!" said Utau. Utau had a bat guardian named Il, and Yaya had a rabbit guardian named Pepe. "Really, you take so long in the bathroom!" said Il. "I agree" said Pepe. Amu poured herself a bowl of cereal. "It's not like you wake up early either." she responded to Utau and Yaya. Yaya stopped. "Whatever." said Utau. Yaya tapped on Utau. "Hey, Utau-chi. Watch this!" she said. Yaya got out a rubber ball and threw it. Just then, Amu suddenly had wolf ears, and she started chasing the ball. Once she gave the ball back to Yaya. The wolf ears went away. "Yaya! I told you not to do that!" said Amu. They started arguing until Ran went up to them and said "Amu-chan! You're going to be late!" The three of them stopped. "Ack!" The guardian characters turned into keychains and the character bearers grabbed them. They all ran to school.

The three of them arrived at the chairman's office. "Ah! Sorry! We're late! We're the new students" said the three of them at the same time. "Oh, you're all in the 2nd grade Moon class." said the chairman. The three of them got confused by the nomenclature. "Oh right. You guys are new here" said the chairman, "Here at Seiyo Middle School, instead of naming our classes 1-1, 1-2 and so on, we choose to name it 1st grade Star Class, 1st grade Moon Class and so on." "Ah, I see" said Utau. "Oh, your teacher will pick you up and show you three to your class." said the chairman. After a minute of waiting, an orange haired teacher walked into the office. "Oh so these are my new students?" said the teacher. He introduced them as Yuu Nikaidou, and took them to the classroom. "Kids, these are our new students" he said. The three of them walked in. "Hello, my name is Utau Hoshina." she said. "Ah! That idol singer!" said one of the kids. "Amu Hinamori. Nice to meet you" said Amu, in a flat tone. Every boy thought to themself "Cool and Spicy". When Yaya spoke, "I'm Yaya!", nobody said a word. "Utau, you san sit next to Kukai Soma. Yaya, you can sit next to Kairi Sanjo. Amu, you can sit next to Tadase Hotori" the three went to their seats. Utau and Amu was surprised to find out that only one person sat between them. "Uh... hi?" said Amu. "Hey. Ikuto Tsukiyomi. Nice to meet you" said Ikuto. Utau stopped. "Huh? Is something wrong, Utau?" said Amu. Ikuto stopped. "Utau" he thought. "Nothing" said Utau.

At lunch, the three went up to the school roof to eat. Utau had some fruit, Yaya had a salad with extra carrots, and Amu had some meat. The three started to talk. "So, what do you think of Kairi?" said Amu. "He is absolutely no fun at all" said Yaya. "What about you? What did you think of Tadase?" said Yaya. Amu blushed. "It's not like I like him" Amu said tsunderely. The three looked at Utau. "Are you talking about me and Kukai?" said Utau, "He's nice I guess." "Hey, should we let Ran, Il and Pepe out?" said Utau. Before anyone could have a chance to answer, Ikuto came up. "Ah! Utau, I was expecting you to be here" said Ikuto. "Huh? You know her?" said Amu. "He sits next to you two in class" said Yaya. "Oh, yeah, that's right" said Amu. Utau immediately hugged Ikuto. "Yeah, this was a bad idea" said Ikuto aside. "What is going on?" said Yaya. Utau stopped. "Well... uh... you see..." Just then, Tadase ran over. "Ikuto-nii-san, what are you doing?" said Tadase. "Oh, I'm just here." said Ikuto. She patted Amu. Utau turned towards Amu. "Tadase-kun!" said Amu. "Huh? Amu!" said Tadase. Awkward silence. Ikuto left.

After school, the three bumped into Kairi. "Oh, Utau Hoshina" said Kairi, "You know, your manager is my sister" "Ah, really!" said Utau. "Yeah, I was living here with my parents when she arrived." said Kairi, "She's going to pick me up soon" "Ah, that reminds me. I have practice today!" said Utau, "Can I come with you?" "Oh, sure" said Kairi. The two left. "Well, that leaves us two" said Yaya. "Yeah." said Amu, "So what now?" "Want to go out for some ice cream?" said Yaya. "Oh sure" said Amu. "Hey, mind if Ikuto-nii-san and I tag along too" said Tadase. "When did you get here?!" said Yaya. "We were just walking by when we saw you talk?" said Ikuto. "So, answer my question" said Tadase "Uh.. sure... I guess" said Amu.

The four were out at the ice cream store. Amu chose the chocolate ice cream, Yaya chose the mint ice cream, Ikuto chose the strawberry one and Tadase chose vanilla. They were seated at a table outside. "So, Amu." said Ikuto, "We didn't talk at all in class. Tell me about yourself." "Well, I..." "I can't tell him I'm part wolf!" Amu thought. "You know, I've always wanted to be a cake decorator" said Amu. "Oh, that's nice" said Tadase. "Yaya's taking up ballet classes!" said Yaya. "What about you" said Amu. "I'm the head of the guardians" said Tadase, "Kukai is in it too." "Oh, that's great!" said Yaya. "It's an elite group of students, so not everyone can join" said Tadase. "Oh, that's a shame" said Amu. "How can we join?" said Yaya. "Well, you would have to pass THE TEST" said Ikuto. "The test?" said Yaya. "It could be arranged for the three of you" said Tadase, "Assuming Utau also wants to join." "We could talk about it" said Amu. "Okay, if you are willing to join, meet me at the greenhouse tomorrow after school." said Tadase

So when Yaya and Amu went back home, they decided to play chess. Just after Amu won, which Yaya flipped the board to, Utau came home. "I'm back" said Utau. "Utau!" said Amu. "How was your practice?" said Ran. "It went okay" said Il. "Kairi is a nice person I guess" said Utau, "So, were you playing chess the whole time or-" "No, we went out for ice cream with Tadase and Ikuto" said Amu. "Ooh! Interesting!" said Il. "I swear," Utau said, "If I see you and Ikuto do anything I-" "Hey, Tadase is in an elite group called the Guardians." said Yaya, "He asked if you want to join." "Kukai is in it as well" said Amu. "Well, I guess." said Utau. "Okay! I'm prepared for THE TEST!" said Yaya, "Even though I don't know what the test is" "Oh, well." said Pepe, "Best not to worry about it"
