Amu, Utau and Yaya were eating breakfast. Yaya smiled to herself mischievously. She got out a stick and poked Amu. Amu turned around, then shrugged. Yaya poked her again. This time, Amu was mad. "Yaya" She CHARA CHANGED and started chasing after Yaya. Yaya squealed. She grew rabbit ears and rad away. Utau shrugged. "And here we have an apex predator chasing after its prey" she said.

Chapter 3: X marks the spot

Amu, Utau and Yaya walked into the Guardian HQ. "Tadase, what's up?" said Amu. Tadase showed them a screen which acts as a map. It was detailed with dots, some gold and some black. "What is that?" said Utau. "This is a soul map. It shows children's souls and their states." said Tadase, "The golden ones mark the normal souls, the pure ones. The black ones are X-Souls, corrupted souls caused by grief and people giving up their dream" "Wow. Is that bad?" said Yaya. "Yeah, it's bad" said Kukai. "Our job is to find X-Souls and purify them" said Tadase, "Lately, there is a sudden increase in X-Souls" Kairi came up. "I was studying the map and it appears that the X-Souls are strangely most prominent in the cities part of the Guardian Project" said Kairi, "The ones with the most are the ones with the weaker sub-bases like Morocco." "That's great, Kairi" said Tadase. "This pattern suggests that there is an outside force controling the rates of the X-Souls. I'll notify you when I have more information" Kairi left.

So, the guardians were sitting down. "So, are these X-Souls dangerous?" asked Amu. "Not by themselves, but when left for approximately 105 hours, they are corrupted to the point of no return, and give birth to X-Eggs" said Tadase, "These X-Eggs will corrupt the person's sanity until they are fully controlled by malice" "It's a good thing kids with Guardian Characters can't have X-Souls" said Kukai. "So, what do you do when there's an X-Egg?" said Yaya. "We destroy them" said Kukai. "What?" said Amu. "It's the only way" said Tadase. "There is a second option" said Ikuto. Everyone looked at him. "A person with a strong enough Soul and a Guardian Character can Character Transform and be able to purify the X-Egg" said Ikuto. "That's right." said Tadase, "Although, so far, only the creator and some of the Jokers are able to do that" "Some of the Jokers?" said Amu. "We're special" said Ikuto. "So, how does one purify an X-Egg?" said Utau. "It is the exact same as the purification process for X-Souls, but with a different chant." said Kairi. Kukai stood up. "Okay, I'll teach you three how to purify X-Souls"

Kukai took the three of them to the training room. Kukai pointed to a sensor on the wall. "See that sensor over there?" said Kukai, "That simulates an X-soul. If you do the purification process right, it will ding." Kukai turned towards Amu. "Amu-chan! You're up first!" he said. Amu went up. "Your Guardian Character lives in a keychain, right?" said Kukai. Amu nodded. "Hold it in your hand" said Amu. Amu took out Ran and held it in her hand. "Now, point your finger at the sensor." Amu did so. "Now repeat after me:" instructed Kukai, "By my heart's power, light and joy will purify this negative heart" Amu said the words, and the sensor dinged. "Impressive. Not many people do it on the first try." said Kukai. "Thanks" said Amu. "Utau, you're up next" said Kukai. Utau went up. Utau tried and failed, and Kukai encouraged her. Eventually, she was able to do it. "Well, done you three" said Kukai. "You can go now" said Kukai.

So, our trio were walking back to their apartment. "Ah! I just remembered! I have practice today." said Utau. She ran off. "See you!" Amu and Yaya reached their apartment. "Wow, I can't believe I'm used in purifying X-Souls" said Ran. "So, when are we going to purify actual X-Souls?" said Pepe. "Yeah! Yaya's so excited to start purifying X-Souls" said Yaya. "Patience, Yaya" said Amu, "I'm a bit excited too" Amu grabbed a chip packet from the pantry and headed up. "I'm going to my room" she said, "Good night" "Amu-chan, you're not going to eat dinner?" said Ran. "Nope, these chips is my dinner" Amu said. She sat on her bed and got out her favourite novel. She started eating it while eating the chip packet. She got a text from Utau. "I have a concert tonight. I'll be home late" Amu smiled. This happened a lot, makes sense for an Idol singer. She continued to her her chips and read her book. "Jokers can purify X-Eggs, huh?" she thought.

The next day, the girls were walking to school. Kukai ran up to them. "Ah! Kukai!" said Utau. "Yo, what's up, Utau-chan?" said Kukai. Utau blished a bit, but then shook her head. Amu looked at her. Just then, a girl walked pass. "That girl" said Kukai. "What is it?" said Amu. "She's in my class" said Kukai, "She's been down for a while. Five days, I think" "Did anyone even think of checking up on her?" said Yaya. "I don't think so" said Kukai. "I can't do it. I will never be able to travel the world." said the girl. Her soul started to shine and the girl fainted. It gave birth to a black egg with a white X on it. "An X-Egg!" said Utau. "Ah!" said Kukai. He got out his star hairclip and put it on. "Let's do this!" said Kukai. Kukai jumped up and summoned a hoverboard. Kukai tried to attack the X-Egg, but it dodged. Amu watched them. "I... don't want to destroy it. I can save it" she said. ... "Atashi no Kokoro: UNLOCK!" A blinding light. Amu was now dressed in a pink dress and her wolf ears were there. She also wore a pink mask. Kukai looked in shock. Utau and Yaya looked in shock too. Amu pointed to the X-Egg and said, "By my purest soul, light and joy with lock onto this Negative heart." She made a heart shape with her hands. "Destroy the evil inside, and at my voice: OPEN HEART!" A burst of purification energy shot out and the X-Egg purified. Amu detransformed. "Amu! You're... you're a half-human?!" said Kukai. "Please don't tell anyone" said Amu. "Why not?" said Kukai, "That means you have magical powers" "That's the thing. If people found out, people would treat me as a monster, and some might even keep me as a treasure" Kukai looked at her. "Don't worry. I'll keep this a secret." said Kukai, "But still, it's really cool" Amu smiled. "Thank you" she said.

At lunch break, Amu, Yaya and Utau went to the school roof to eat lunch. They looked arouns to see if anyone was watching and got out Ran, Il and Pepe. "Did you realize what you have done?!" said Ran. "What? It's not like he's going to tell anybody" said Amu. "She's right you know" said Utau, "He said that he wouldn't" "More importantly, did you see that?!" said Yaya, "Amu-chi just Character Transformed!" "That was so cool!" said Il. "Yeah, I agree" said Pepe. "Today was an exciting day" said Amu. "Mhmm" said Yaya. Amu smiled. "I wonder what tomorrow has in store for us" she said.

So, there you have it. I have an idea: What if I write these things in Esperanto first? Oh well. LOCK ON! OPEN HEART!
