Chapter 2: The following day
The Next Day
It was a typical day in Amity Park and the students of Casper High were bored out of their mind as they were in the auditorium.
Why?
A public speaker, a woman named Dr. Sampson, has come to talk about health and other stuff that bored teenagers half to death, as their minds were drifting to stuff that they were more interested in.
The adults didn't notice or pretended that they didn't, as they continued with the assembly.
"Alright students. Pay attention. We have a very special guest joining us today.. I would like to introduce you all to Dr. Sampson..."Principal Ishiyama said, as the doctor appeared.
The doctor, a woman in her mid forties, with brown hair tried in a bun and glasses, appeared and presented herself.
"Greetings, Casper High. I hope that you're all doing well..."Dr. Sampson said, adjusting her glasses.
No one responded, as the adults continued with the assembly. Danny and Star were already bored and didn't pay full attention.
"Another health conscious person telling me I eat too much..." Star muttered, being reminded of her mother the last time she ate a corn-dog in front of her.
Her boyfriend was already bored of this and decided to talk to her about stuff that actually interests them...like upcoming dates between them.
"So, we're still going to Floody waters this weekend, right?..."Danny asked.
Star smiled.
"Totally. Seeing you in a soaking wet shirt would be the best..."She said, looking forward to that day.
"Shouldn't that me my line?..."Danny whispered with a smirk and his girlfriend responded with a light, playful punch in the air.
"Cute..."She said sarcastically, before they laughed a bit until they were shushed by one of the teachers nearby.
They remained quiet, but the couple held hands and remained close, clearly as in love with each other as ever. Colette saw this and crossed her arms in jealousy, pouting hard.
"That should be moi!..."She grumbled, wishing that bad things happened to her step-sister so that she could swoop in and steal Danny.
"What's wrong, Colette?..."Dash asked, clueless.
"Nothing...I just...have a sudden desire to go to that cheap and pedestrian water park..."She muttered, while the jock perked up.
"Awesome, we can go together. What time should I pick you up?..."Dash said in a perked up manner, irritating the fake redhead even more.
"So, not happening..."Colette thought, as she tried to tune both him and the guest speaker out as she kept ogling Danny from a distance.
"You're all probably wondering why I'm here. I'm here because I'm a specialist in both healthy eating and exercising. You kids are still young and the health choices you make now can affect the ones you make in adulthood..." Dr. Sampson said, trying to sound professional.
She started her lecture, talking all about healthy habits, eating choices and an bunch of other stuff people should care about, but a bunch of teenagers found boring.
Danny and Star tried to focus on some of the lecture...but spent a good chunk of it holding hands and discreetly played footsie when no one else was looking as the lecture continued.
"I understand you teenagers love your foods from such places like Crusty's and Nasty Burger..." Dr. Sampson went, clearly trying to bring up a point.
Tucker's eyes narrowed angrily.
"Oh... no she didn't..." He muttered.
"And those places are fine "sometimes food" locations..." Tucker's eyes narrowed more. "But not..." Tucker gritted his teeth. "... every single..." Tucker's teeth grinded. "...day..."She said, clearly not realizing yet that she was ticking off a MAJOR fan of these kinds of foods.
"LIES!..." Tucker went, getting up and pointing at her.
He realized too late he was disrupting the assembly, getting attention from the teachers, the principal, the speaker and the other students who were looking at him like some weirdo.
"FOLEY! SIT DOWN!..." Lancer shouted, while some kids laughed at the tech-geeks outburst.
Tucker did as instructed, sitting down and keeping quiet for now. Danny, Sam and Star saw this and shook their heads.
"He really needs to learn to love that junk food less...before MORE doctors tell him to make different health choices..."Sam muttered, while her tech geek friend kept grumbling to himself.
"Uh...moving on...Just know that Dr. Sampson will be available all this week and next week in case you kids need help in how to make healthier choices..." Principal Ishiyama said before stepping off stage, allowing Dr. Sampson to keep talking more about making healthier eating and living habits.
All while more students got bored and a certain tech geek kept sulking as they were forced to listen to this.
Later
After school, Danny and Star had gone on another jog together and managed to finish up about another 3 miles before calling a rest.
Now, they decided to grab a bite to eat.
Danny and Star had gone to the Nasty Burger and decided to have it to-go. They were now eating outside the restaurant at one of the tables they set up out there. They both got their burgers with fries, a classic choice here.
Danny got his regular burger and fries combo, while Star got something else...a slightly bigger order than he got.
"Never thought I'd see you buy that again. Did your mom put you on another crazy liquid diet?..." Danny asked, but his girlfriend shook her head.
"No...and I'm NEVER doing that ever again. I just had a light breakfast. I'm hungry..." Star said, not seeing anything wrong with that.
"As long as you don't look like you'll eat my hand off, I'm okay with what you eat..." Danny said in a joking manner, while his girlfriend rolled her eyes.
"Cute..."Star said in a snarky way, before turning to her food with a grin.
"Alright, time for the mighty meaty cheesy melt!..."She said as she took a bite.
"How is it?..."Danny asked, while she now had a pleased look on her face.
"Delish, no questions about it. I can't believe I spent the first half of junior high and high school eating light just because of the A-List stupid diets and dresses I had to wear..."Star said, before taking another bite of the burger and enjoying it.
When she was an A-Lister, she was under constant pressure to look good and maintain an image just like the over popular girls, and she wasn't allowed that have food like this without facing ridicule. Now, since she began dating Danny and his friends, she stopped caring about that and began to indulge herself a bit.
Sure, she's not a fast food fanatic like Tucker is, and she didn't eat stuff like this every day...however, she does a lot of exercising and otherwise eats healthy foods, so she wanted to treat herself every once in a while to something like this.
Anyway, she took another bite of the delicious burger and savored the taste.
"I'm gonna have to jog a little more this week, but it's so worth it..."Star said in delight as she kept eating.
"Glad to hear that..."Danny said as he took a napkin and wiped her cheek.
Star hiccuped a bit, before taking a drink of her soda. After that, this prompted the two to laugh. However, their fun was cut short when some "vultures" decided to show up and spoil their good moods.
"Well, well, well. Look at what we got here..."Was heard.
The couple turned around and saw that it was Paulina and Colette.
Danny and Star glared at them.
"Get lost, I don't want to lose my appetite looking at either of you!..."The blonde girl snarled at them, not even bothering to beat around the bush.
"Ah yes... quite the cuisine..." Colette said sarcastically, while the ghost boy got irritated.
"Colette, why are you even in here? I thought you were too stuck up to even step foot near the Nasty Burger?..."Danny snarked, since she insisted on him eating at fancier places with her.
"True, I have no intentions of ever BUYING these disgustingly cheap peasant food..."Colette said in a snooty way, before her eyes landed on Danny.
"But I will admit, the view is rather nice from here..."She said.
Danny was grossed out while Star became defensive and angry.
"Back off, before burn off calories by pummeling you!..."Star said as she raised her fist in warning.
"Just as barbaric as ever. What a waste..."Colette scoffed.
"I'll say...I see that not only did your taste change from hunky football players to weird losers, but now your taste in food is grosser too..."Paulina said, looking at her burger in a critical manner.
Star was about to speak up, but Danny did it for her.
"You two get lost, we're busy..."Danny said, angry.
"Busy helping her gain weight..." Paulina snarked before she and Colette left, laughing at Star.
"If so, then you succeeded, Mon Amore..."Colette mocked, making Star angry and Paulina laugh.
"Hey, take that back!..."Danny shouted, but his girlfriend got angrier and started shouting.
"GET OUT OF HERE!..."Star yelled, while Danny held her back before she did something that would risk getting them kicked out of here.
The spoiled girls saw this and laughed.
"Don't worry, this greasy stench is making me nauseous anyway. Let's go Paulina, before we gain as much weight as her..."Colette said in a mean way.
"No need to tell me twice..."Paulina said, while Star gritted her teeth and felt her fists shake.
Once the two mean girls were gone, Danny turned to face his lady.
"Don't listen to them, you know that Colette and Paulina are witches who are both jealous of you and who also happen to have WAY too much free time on their hands..."He said.
"I know that..."Star said, but soon had an insecure look on her face.
One that her boyfriend noticed almost immediately.
"Starlight, what's wrong?..."He asked in concern, while his girlfriend seemed troubled by something.
"Boo, if I gained weight...you'd tell me right?..."Star asked, sounding insecure right now.
Danny knew what was troubling her and sighed. He tried to help her as best he could.
"Star, I can say without a doubt that when I look at you, I see the most beautiful girl in the world and I know that you shouldn't take what those harpies say seriously. Besides, you exercise a lot and live a pretty healthy lifestyle, so I HIGHLY doubt that you'd get fat just because you have a burger every once in a while. Besides, even if you did gain a few extra pounds, you'd still be more beautiful than those two combined..."Danny said, being as sincere as possible as he said this.
"Thanks..." Star went, though her face suggested she didn't fully believe him.
"Do you want some of my fries?..."Danny offered to his girlfriend.
"Not really..."She said, not in the mood anymore.
Her boyfriend saw this and tried to cheer her up.
"Star, cheer up. You're perfectly svelte and beautiful, no questions about that..."He said, making her smile a bit more at that.
"Besides, we have a lot to be happy about right now. Dash is busy with Lancer and can't bother us and we're going to Floody Waters this weekend. That's a good weekend in my book..."Danny said, gesturing for her to smile.
"I guess you're right..." She said, cheering up a bit.
The couple was going to kiss, however, a familiar voice was heard and ruined their mood.
"BEWARE!..."Was heard.
The couple heard this and sighed.
"As if on cue..."Danny muttered.
"He really needs to get a new hobby...or a girlfriend...though, who the heck would settle for him in the first place?..."Star muttered.
"Probably Lunch Lady, but I'd rather not think of the eww that comes with that..."Danny thought with a shudder.
Danny pounded his fist into his hand.
"Do you wanna come along or wait?..."He asked.
"I'll come. I wanna work off this food and my anger at those two..."Star said, getting up.
"That's the spirit..." He said as he took her hand and the two ran to find a spot for him to morph.
Unknown to the couple, a pair of eyes was watching them from a distance and resented what was seen.
"That should be ME!..."The figure thought, as their eyes glared at Star...and then landed on Danny, looking with longing and desire.
"Danny..."She whispered, clutching her book tightly as she felt her eyes glow green as envy began to form within her once again.
However, she did overhear some thing they said and smirked.
"Floody waters, huh?..."The figure said before smirking, ideas already forming in her mind.
Oh man.
