Chapter 3: Envy at Floody Waters
A few days later
It was Saturday, the day where Danny and Star would go to Floody Waters.
Star had woken up early and was in the middle of getting ready. The blonde girl placed her sunscreen, towel and several more items into a duffel bag. Once done, she looked at herself in the mirror and nodded.
"Okay... packed everything, now for-..." She stopped as she noticed the scale.
She paused for a moment, as if weighing her options. After a moment, she shrugged to herself.
"It has been a while since I checked. Might as well..."Star thought as she decided to check her weight on the scale.
The blonde girl stepped on it and waited for a moment. However, the moment that she did, she gasped and rubbed her eyes to clear them.
She was shocked by what the scale said and didn't want to believe it.
"What? No way, that can't be right, can it?!..."Star said as she stepped off the scale and tried again.
Nothing changed as she saw that the scale read the exact same weight.
"No way, I can't believe this. 114 pounds?!..."Star said in dismay, unable to believe that she's actually GAINED 5 whole pounds.
She now worried that she had gotten fatter as well, causing her to hyperventilate. She checked her reflection in the mirror. Thankfully, her weight isn't starting to show, but this still worried her.
"I don't understand...I mean...I've been exercising more with Danny and all that ghost hunting has to have made a change. So, why did I gain so much weight?!..."Star thought, not understanding this.
She patted her own stomach, wondering what did she eat to make such a change in her weight.
"Wait..."Star thought as she recalled what happened then.
During her last workout with Danny, she got that mighty meaty cheesy melt to satisfy her cravings, and a few days ago she ate a whole chili dog for lunch and washed it down with a milkshake. Not to mention, she was eating pizza, ramen and burgers during her dates with Danny and when they were hanging with his friends.
She realizes she's been eating a lot lately and began to fear that it was starting to show negative results.
"Weird how I didn't notice..."She thought, wondering how she could be heavier so fast.
Star put on her bathing suit and was thankful that it still fit her right and didn't look too small.
"At least I can still be seen in this..."She thought, thankful for that.
Her fear was pushed aside, seeing the time and realized Danny was almost here. The blonde girl, despite feeling a bit depressed over her sudden weight gain, decided this bit of exercise and cutting back on some carbs in her diet can help later.
"I better do some extra jogging this week..."She thought, mentally planning ahead.
However, right now...she has a date to get ready for.
She then saw a streak of black and white fly past her window, realizing he's here.
"Danny..."She said, reminding her that she'd better hurry up.
Outside
Danny soon landed by the Strong residence and chanced forms once he was sure that no one could see him. Once in his human form, he rang the doorbell and Georgia soon opened the door.
"Hello, Danny. It's nice to see you..."The housekeeper said in a friendly manner.
"Hi Georgia, how are things?..."Danny asked as he was lead inside.
"Same old, same old. Thankfully, no ghosts showing up today..."The maid said, closing the door. "Star is upstairs getting ready. I'll go get her..."She said as she went to go inform her boss's daughter that her boyfriend had just arrived.
Danny waited in the living room, patiently awaiting his blonde girlfriend and tapped his foot. Thankfully, Star soon arrived, wearing an orange top and shorts over her swimsuit, along with white sandals and a matching hat.
"Hey Danny-Boo..."Star said.
Danny smiled.
"Hey, Star. You look great..."He said, smiling at her.
"Thanks..."Star said, happy to see him.
The two shared a quick kiss before linking arms, ready to leave for their date.
"Come on, we better head out now before the lines get too long..."Danny said.
"Yeah..."Star said, as they headed to the door.
"Later, Georgia..."The blonde girl said.
"Have fun you two, and remember what your father said Star...curfew is at 10..."The maid reminded.
"Yeah, I won't be late. Bye..."Star said, on her way out with her boyfriend.
The two teens soon left to go to the park, while Georgia smiled and found this sweet.
"Ah, to be young and in love. I just hope that they keep it PG..."She said, before going back to her chores and having plans later in the day.
Later
Danny and Star soon arrived to the water park. The ghost boy grinned as they made it.
"Man, do I love this place..."Danny said, happy to be here.
"Yeah, I know what you mean..."Star said, still feeling a little awkward to be here.
She was still bothered by what she saw on her scale earlier and hid it by avoiding eye contact with him. She tried to smile to hide it, wanting to act normal but her mind kept going back to what she saw on the scale.
She wished that it could stop.
"What's wrong with me? I mean, Danny loves me and he said so himself that he doesn't care if I just have a couple extra pounds...so, why am I still harping on it?!..."She thought, hating that she was still think about this.
She tried not to think about that and focus on having a fun date with her loving boyfriend who loves her for who she is...and not think about her body's image right now.
"Come on, the line is shrinking..."Danny said as he took her hand and lead her to the ticket booth, all the while Star tried to focus on just having a nice time with her one true love.
Unknown to the couple, two people had arrived to the water park and were here for a particular reason.
To spy on the couple, and find a way to mess with them out of total jealousy.
"There they are, time to go..."Someone thought, holding their bag.
"They're they are. Magnifique! I shall change and then I shall make my move..."Another person thought, grinning mischievously.
They, separately, watched the couple buy their tickets and enter the water park, deciding to make their move.
A few moments later
Danny and Star purchased their tickets and entered. They saw many people were already here, enjoying the rides and having fun.
"Let's go, at least Dash is still banned from this place and he can't spoil our date here..."Danny said, excited to be here.
"And hopefully no other revenge seeking arch enemies around either..."Star said, not wanting a repeat of that.
As the two entered, they noticed someone has gone through the gates at almost the exact same as them. Someone familiar to them.
"Danny? Star? Fancy seeing you here..."Was heard, a familiar voice saying it.
Danny and Star turned around and saw a girl with short black hair in a green bathing suit and pink towel sticking out of her blue duffel bag. It was one girl whom they have crossed paths with before...so to speak.
"Misty?..." Star asked, blinking in surprise.
Misty seemed to have not noticed her surprise as she just smiled.
"Danny! Star! Hey!..." Misty went in a friendly manner as she approaching them with seemingly innocent intentions.
Recalling what had happened the last time they had met, the ghost boy was just...a little nervous to be around the dark haired girl to say the least.
"Uh... hi..." Danny went, as Misty kept smiling and seemed to keep her distance.
"So...whatcha two doin?..." She asked, sounding like she's putting too much effort into sounding casual.
"We're... on a date here..." Star said, holding Danny's hand as she did so.
The dark haired boy still smiled and seemed relieved as she spoke up again.
"Cool... me too..." Misty said, surprising the two.
"Really? You're on a date?" Danny asked, feeling a little relieved she's seemingly moved on.
"Yup. It's someone whom I've recently been going out with...a real great guy and a major cutie too..."She said, smiling as she said this.
Danny and Star were both relieved to hear this. However, the two noticed that she's alone right now.
"Well, good for you..."Danny said.
"So, where's the lucky guy?..." Star asked, looking around and saw that she seemed to be here by herself.
"He's... meeting up with me. We agreed to come separately..."Misty claimed, while Star blinked.
"Really?..."She asked, surprised to hear that.
"And... you're paying for your own ticket?..." Danny asked, recalling that Misty wasn't exactly very well-off.
However, she smiled and waved it off.
"Don't worry. Ever since that sauce that I made, I-..." She paused. "Well... I think I made at least... I haven't been as financially hurting. My laolao puts that stuff on some fried rice and she's been making a killing. I get 10% of the profits, so that's about $200 a week..." She stated, looking happy as she said this.
"Huh... that's really neat..." Star said and Danny nodded, both happy for her.
"Yup. Well... see ya. It's been nice seeing you two again..." Misty went, before leaving to presumably meet up with her date.
Danny and Star both smiled, happy to see that the amnesiac sorceress seemed to be doing alright now.
"At least, she's moving up and moving on..." Danny said, glad that they didn't have to worry about her relapsing again.
"Yeah. Good for her..." Star said as she took out her phone.
"Picture before we start, Boo?..."She asked, wanting to capture this moment.
"Sure..." Danny went.
"Hang on... lemme see if someone can take it for us..." Star said, looking around.
As the blonde girl walked away, time seemed to stop. Everyone at the park had frozen in place, unaware of what was going on and how it happened. However, only one person remained unfrozen and was in fact the one who caused this.
"Perfect timing..."The person said.
It was Misty, who dropped her "friendly" smile and was now frowning. Misty, having reach into her bag to use her book, stopped time and stormed over, glaring at Star in both jealousy and annoyance.
"Really neat? Pfft... says the girl who probably has like thousands to use every single week!..." She went before walking over to the frozen, smiling Danny.
He was still frozen in time, unaware of her and her intentions. The teenage sorceress smiled at him and clearly wanted to take advantage of this situation.
"Hello, my date..." She said before planting a kiss on his cheek and pulling out her phone.
"Let's take that photo, Danny Honey!..."She said, grinning as she knew exactly what she wanted to do here.
She positioned the phone make it seem like she and Danny are looking into it and did a peace sign before taking it. Once done, she smiled at the image. The way it was taken, it was almost like they really took one together and that made her happy.
"That's a keeper..."She said, smiling.
She then turned to the boy and smiled.
"You're even cuter than I remember. And nicer arms too..."She said, feeling like a giddy school girl on a date...even if this guy in particular has no idea what was going on.
She examined his body a moment. Since he wore more revealing clothes, she could see some muscle underneath. It made her blush and smile even more.
"You really are too good for that blonde princess..."She said in both jealousy and longing as she admired him.
Not able to help herself, she hugged him and kissed him lightly on the lips.
"Finally...I've been dreaming of doing this again for so long..."She thought as she wrapped her arms around the frozen boy and savored the kiss, even deepening it a bit with tongue.
Even if he was unresponsive, she still felt pleasure and ecstasy as she pulled away. Once she did, she had the biggest grin on her face and blush.
"Better than I remember..."She said, giggling before placing a hand on her "date's" face and also wiped her lipstick off his lips and face to get rid of any evidence.
"We're gonna have so much fun together, Danny. I can only hope on some deep down level...that you know what's going on and you're loving it as much I do..." She said before walking way, satisfied for now.
"I knew I'd get lucky overhearing them at the swap meet the other day..."She thought, smirking as she walked away and was soon out of sight.
Just in time as the spell wore off and everyone went back to normal.
Danny blinked and felt something on his mouth.
"Huh? What? Why do I feel like something touched me and taste strawberries? And why do I feel like I should be getting mouthwash right now?..."He thought as something felt wrong.
Star soon came back, with another person whom was ready to take their picture.
"Come on, take the photo..."Star said as she handed the guy her phone.
The couple soon took several pictures and did various poses together. Once Star was satisfied, she examined them.
"Which do you like?..." She asked.
"Uh... any, I guess..." He said, rubbing his mouth.
"Boo? Are you okay?..."She asked, wondering what's up with him.
"Uh...I guess...Uh, Star...did you kiss me before you went to get our picture taken?..."Danny asked, still feeling weird right now.
Star heard this and thought he was being funny and flirtatious.
"Well, I THINK that I'd remember something like that, Boo...but sounds like a great idea..."She said, fluttering her eyes at him.
Danny, however, shook his head.
"I wasn't being flirty...I mean...I feel like I was kissed but I don't know by who, why or how..."He said, scratching the back of his head as he said this.
Star blinked, raising a brow.
"Really?..."She asked, wondering what that means.
She then frowned.
"You don't think that Ember kissed you while she was invisible just now?..."She asked, ready to punch her ghostly love rival if that was the case.
Danny shook his head.
"No, my ghost sense would have gone off. Beside, she's not discreet like that. You know that she'd just LOVE to stick around and brag about something like that..."Danny said bitterly, knowing how much the ghostly diva just likes getting under their skin.
"True..."Star admitted, while her boyfriend tried to figure out what was going on with him.
"Maybe I'm just getting deja vu..."He said, shrugging.
His girlfriend had an idea after hearing that and smiled.
"Me too..."Star said before pulling him in for a kiss.
Danny quickly melted into the kiss and forgot about his issues thanks to his one true love. Both being unaware that there was an audience they didn't know they had.
After the kiss, the couple soon went to go enjoy themselves at the water park, unaware that two pairs of eyes were watching them with a mixture of envy and longing.
"Danny will be mine!..."One of them thought, before going to get changed.
She wasn't the only one was the other girl who wanted Danny wasn't too far away and was watching them from a distance in both desire and jealousy.
"Oh, enjoy him while you can, Blondie. He's MY date today and the moment that you're even a little ways away, I'll step in. Count on it!..."Misty thought as she watched the couple soon leave and enjoy the day.
Her eyes flashed green and her grin became more malevolent as her "date" had only just begun.
Later
Danny and Star, now wearing their swimsuits and soaked from water, took a break for a soda.
Danny eyed Star and smiled, still admiring how beautiful she is.
"I don't think I'll ever get over how hot you look in that..."He said as he eyed her appreciatively.
Star smiled.
"Oh, you..."She said, liking how he looks at her.
However, she still felt a little self-conscious due to her sudden weight gain and looked away. Her boyfriend noticed and got confused.
"You okay?..." Danny asked.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah…" She said, though her tone betrayed her.
Danny frowned.
"Star, seriously...what's up?..."He asked.
Before his girlfriend could come up with an answer, a shrill, obnoxious voice was heard.
"Oh, Mon Amore!~..."The snooty voice said, sounding smug.
Danny and Star both cringed and groaned as they realized who it is and what is happening.
"Oh, you gotta be kidding me!..."Star said, angry and looking ready to hit something.
"Not again! Please tell me that SHE'S not here!..."Danny said in dismay.
They both turned around and saw that it was Colette, who was wearing a new and inappropriate for her age bikini, clearly trying to get attention.
A lot of guys saw her and were gawking at her, but Danny just glared at her, not impressed.
"Greetings, my darling. It is so nice to see you again..."She said, before striking a pose. "You like my new bathing suit, Mon Amore?..." She asks, showing off to him.
"The same way I like a rash..."Danny said rudely, while Star snickered at that.
Colette pouted upon hearing this, but the ghost boy cut her off before she had any chance of whining.
"I can't believe this, you're doing this again! You do realize that you're just repeating a plan that didn't work, right?..."Danny said, crossing his arms.
"I know not what I mean..."Colette said, feigning innocence.
The teen couple rolled their eyes at her phoniness.
"I think you do, and it means leave before SOMEONE ends up needing ANOTHER nose job!..."Star said, angry.
Colette got offended by what she said about her nose and crossed her arms.
"My nose is REAL!..."She insisted, ignoring the weird looks that she was getting from others.
"As real as your hair, you mean..."Star snarked, and Danny snickered at that.
Colette got mad, but the blonde girl just kept glaring at her.
"I'm serious...get lost or else!..."Star said, clearly having no patience for her presence.
Colette scoffed, refusing to do so and just settled for talking trash to her hated step-sister.
"Oh, please. Do you honestly think that I would let you have Danny all to yourself if I could help it? Go stuff yourself with ice cream or whatever else that has made you fatter..."She said rudely.
Star heard this and scowled at her.
"Do you wanna go hike with head trauma?! Because I can oblige!..."Star snapped, ready to deck her for that remark.
Danny held her back, making sure she didn't try to get kicked out. He then glared at the annoying girl and tried to make her leave.
"Colette, I'm here with STAR and she's the only girl that I want. So leave..."Danny said, while Star smirked.
Colette frowned and huffed up.
"The moment you two are apart is the moment her influence will wear off...then I shall be there to make you see whom you are truly meant to be with..."She said, crossing her arms.
"You're delusional..."Danny said, while Star frowned at her hated step-sister.
Knowing that she won't leave, they had to get away from her. Thankfully, the blonde girl thought fast and knew a way to get away from the spoiled brat with fake red hair.
"Hey Mikey! Over here!..." Star called out, pretending that she sees him and even waved.
Her step-sister heard this and paled a bit.
"AAAAAAAACCCCKKKK!..." Colette went, turning her head and expecting to see him.
She saw no one. She realized that she had been tricked and got angry.
"Estelle, you-..."She stopped once she saw that the couple was gone, having disappeared into the crowd.
She frowned and stomped her foot in the ground in an impatient, childish manner, but she did not care.
"Oh, you cannot escape me that easily. I will have Danny with me no matter what!..."Colette thought as she shook her fist angrily.
She stormed off, wanting payback on Star and to find Danny again.
Unknown to her, she's not the ONLY one who was planning to separate Danny from Star and claim his love.
Misty saw the entire thing from a distance. She didn't know whom that girl was or could hear what they were saying but she saw that the couple was desperate to get away from her for some reason.
She also saw the way the girl was dressed and how she looked at Danny. It made the teen sorceress frown and was secretly glad that her crush didn't seem to like her.
"Don't know who that was, but it's my turn..." Misty thought as she drank her soda before noticing her can was empty.
Still feeling a little thirsty, and having some cash on her...she decided that she had enough time for another one before moving on with her plan.
"Second drink now, then make my move…"She said before going to buy another soda.
