Guess what's back? Back again? It's A Father Figure!
Due to my friend Nat pestering me for another chapter and some of you fans demanding more. Well I listened so here you go!
Jack didn't need an alarm. He didn't sleep a wink, not one bit. So instead all he needed was the sunshine to come through the blinds of his window in his private barrack. That's all he needed for his eyes to open and him to roll out of the bed and stand. The only indication he had ever been in the bed being two little indentations where his knees had been.
Jack quickly got dressed in his uniform strapping on the new advanced armor over it. Next he put on the hydration pack, his holsters, and his pouches filled with ammo and everything else he would need, this included a large pouch on his left thigh filled with magazines for his sidearms, and a little bandolier one his upper left arm that held specialized 50. Cal rounds. Then it was time for his weaponry, he holstered his 1911 in a left shoulder holster, put his MP9 submachine gun in a right thigh holster, his karambit went to the small of his back, his EBR he clipped to the front of his vest, and finally Sally was slung on his right shoulder.
Jack decided he would leave his shoge today, there was no good place to put it. He'd have to figure out a holster for it at a later time. For now though he was more than satisfied with his set up so all that was left was to track down some coffee before checking out his humvee and heading to Sangin. There was just one last thing he had to do, pulling his right arm sleeve up. Jack looked at the handkerchief tied there and allowed himself a small smile thinking of little Nicholas…and Vivian. "I'll make it home to see you two again."
That done, Jack grabbed his sunglasses, slipped them on, and then opened and walked out the door. It was a quick walk to the nearest mess hall designated for Agents, Civilians, and Contractors only. Walking in the large tent building he was pleased to see it was mostly empty, the only mammals being there mammals from his plane ride. He drew a few eyes but he made sure to show them his CIA tag to stop any questions.
Using his nose Jack quickly sniffed out the elixir of life that was coffee. Walking over to the pot James quickly poured a large bear sized cup of the black goodness. Standing there he quickly downed about a quarter of the cup before suddenly he heard a very angry voice call out "Lieutenant Hunter!"
It was a voice Jack did not know so he sighed before turning to face the voice with a disinterested look on his face. What he saw when he turned was a very angry looking kudu that was ranked a lieutenant colonel with the last name Curvehorn. Keeping his tone bored and neutral Jack answered with "do you need something from me?"
This response with his tone and posture apparently pissed the Lt. Col off even more. "Oh right now what I need you to show me LIEUTENANT is the proper respect! I am your superior officer. You will snap to attention, salute me, and tell me why the hell I shouldn't drag you by the tail to the PSC barracks! Then you can explain why the hell you aren't where you're supposed to be and I had to find your sorry ass here where you clearly don't belong!"
This caused Jack to raise and eyebrow. "So I take it you're the head of Perition Sniper Corps here?"
He could swear steam was starting to come out of the Kudu's ears. "YES YOU STUPID IMBECILE! I AM LIEUTENANT COLONEL CURVEHORN AND I AM YOUR SUPERIOR OFFICER! NOW YOU WILL SHOW ME THE PROPER RESPECT OR I WILL COME OVER THERE AND KNOCK YOU ON YOUR ASS!"
Jack didn't hesitate to roll his eyes. "Sir I would love to salute you but you are not my superior Officer and I'm right where I belong. You mean you weren't told? Here."
Jack took off his CIA tag and tossed it to Curvehorn who caught and inspected it. "What in the high hell is this!?"
Jack took it back and said "that is why I will not salute you. I am a CIA Operative working directly off of the orders of Brigadier General Wolverton. It's a complicated situation that I would have assumed that you would have been filled in on. I still work with Bravo Platoon of course when they get here. There's a lot of twists and turns to this situation that are best left to be told by General Wolverton. I need to finish my coffee and then I'm due to head out into Sangin. So I am at my post, you should return to yours promptly and contact the General."
Curvehorn looked as if he was going to shout something out but was stopped when several predator agents who had been listening in stood and walked to stand beside Jack. One of them said "you heard him. He's an agent and you're not, with respect sir you need to leave."
Curvehorn couldn't believe this. Turning angrily he stomped away muttering under his breath "stupid pelt thinks he's superior to me."
Jack with his hearing heard it clear and shook his head. "Looks like I just made an enemy. Joy. Just another speciesist prick….I hope."
*an hour and a half later*
Jack had been Sangin for 30 minutes now. After he had his encounter with Curvehorn he had finished his coffee, munched on a MRE, checked out his humvee, and made the trek. Since then it had been pretty quiet as moved through the buildings in the area he had been assigned to overwatch. So far he had cleared about a dozen buildings as he listened in on friendly comms waiting to hear a call for aid.
Each time he cleared a building he would set up in attics, second story windows, balconies, roofs, anything with high ground and he would carefully scan the area before moving on. But so far, this area was very quiet, just a few civilians every now and then. "Well this is dreadfully boring."
As soon as that thought entered his mind he heard gunfire erupt about a quarter mile away. From what Jack could pick up with his well trained ears the gunfire started with a sniper shot before erupting into gunfire from Ak47s and SA80s. "British troops were ambushed. I need to get over there."
Soon after that thought left his mind a distress call came out. "This is Commander Soap MacTavish SAS Detachment 7! We are pinned down in an alleyway! We got a mammal down in the street we can't get to! We need assistance now!"
Jack didn't hesitate to key his mic "This is Periton Sniper Corps operative NightOwl inbound on your 20, five mikes out."
"Confirmed! Get this sniper off of us so we can get to our guy!"
It was then a bullet impacted the wall right next to his head. Jack quickly pivoted to face his rear gun up but paused firing when he saw just who shot at him. It was just a kid, a goat boy not six years old struggling to pull the bolt back on an old Kar98k way too big for him. Jack lowered his weapon and strode over to the kid snatching the gun out of his tiny hooves. The kid looked up at him shocked and scared and Jack shook his head firmly while pointing to the gun. He then said in Arabic, a language he was still learning, "no gun. Bad. Go home."
The kid looked even more scared now and Jack barked out in Arabic "NOW!"
The kid didn't wait for any further prompt and scurried away, and Jack didn't know it but because of that moment, that kid would grow up to be a fervent activist against terrorism. because instead of dying that day, the soldier he shot at spared him and sent him away.
Jack shook his head as the kid scurried away before emptying the gun and tossing it. Then he turned back to the window and jumped out of it setting off on a sprint towards the gunfire. A few minutes later he was there just a couple buildings away from the pinned down SAS team. Training in his ears he could hear he was just under several insurgents firing down at the squad, at least two from what he could hear. Listening further he figured they were on the building's third floor.
Entering the building was not an option as there was no back door he could through, no window either. Going around to the front really wasn't a good option either, might as well strip down buck naked and hold up a sign saying "free target." Jack looked around him for a safe way up when it presented itself, a steel gutter pipe leading all the way up on the side of the building with an open window right next to it.
Jack quickly went to it and swiftly began to climb it reaching the top in just a few seconds. Peeking his head in he saw three insurgents, two camels and a goat, and all three had their backs to him. Jack quickly raised himself up and pulled out his karambit. Moving fast he snuck up behind the goat insurgent and slit his throat before pulling out his 1911 and dropping the two camels before they could even notice him.
Those three dispatched Jack ran to the stairs and threw a motion sensor down them, if someone started to come up the stairs it would trigger it. Next he went to the set of windows the three insurgents were shooting out of and moved one camel aside. That done he surveyed the situation with the scope of his EBR.
The SAS group were in a large alleyway about 300 meters to his northeast, he could just barely see into the alley from the angle he was at and he couldn't see any of the soldiers. There was fire going into the alleyway from three separate buildings, at least three shooters in each if his hearing was right. Scanning with his scope the next thing he saw was a car on the road riddled with bullets and a small flow of blood, that was where the trapped operative was.
Now all that was left to find was the sniper keeping the team from getting to their downed member. Doing some quick math in his head he figured out the angles of where the shot would have come from, and he narrowed it down to three possible buildings. He didn't see the sniper but he did see three insurgents on a roof just asking to be shot. But they would have to wait. He ran his scope slowly across the buildings looking for a muzzle, a barrel, any indication….
"NightOwl where the hell are you!? Our guy is bleeding out!"
Jack ignored them because he saw something. "Found you." It was subtle but there it was, the muzzle of a dragunov sniper rifle poking out of a second story window at an odd angle. Which happened to be exactly at the angle where the downed operative would have been hit from. There was a wall between him and the sniper and there was no way EBR would go through it. But Sally could so he quickly switched to her bringing her up.
He quickly did the math on where the insurgents head would be based on the length of the sniper and once he had that, he added in the three insurgents asking to be shot. Next was wind direction for all four shots and timing then with that done…inhale….exhale….inhale….exhale…and fire.
(Insurgent sniper)
He was losing his patience. He had shot the infidel but he had fallen behind a car where he couldn't finish him. Then his team took cover before he could fire another shot, it was so very frustrating. He was about to move to try and get a better shot when he briefly heard a large boom….then his head exploded like a watermelon in a blast of red mist.
(Jack)
Jack fired his four shots in rapid succession and all four were hits. He saw the sniper get jerked out of the window and some blood hit the window sill, and all three roof insurgents were definitely dead. The first's head exploded, the second's too. The third, because he started to turn and run, took the shot through this right arm, which he lost, through his chest, and through his left arm which he also lost.
Keying his mic Jack said "snipers gone. Three others too. Go get your guy I got overwatch for any that enter the street. But, I can't see any that are in the buildings so you gotta watch them. Oh, and what kind of name is Soap?"
"Well that answers my question! Thanks a bunch NightOwl! Soap is a code name same as yours, long story really!"
That was the last the SAS said as Jack watched them pour out of the alleyway and grab their downed guy. Two insurgents came into the street, Jack dropped one and the other scurried back into a building. After that, no more came out in fear of their head exploding as well. This allowed the SAS operatives to get themselves into a building. Luckily no more operatives were hit as they moved into the building.
About five minutes after they made it into the building a MRAP pulled up to extract the operatives. As they were piling in, another insurgent decided to come into sight, this one holding an RPG. Jack didn't hesitate to scope in and put a new hole in the side of the insurgents chest. Once that insurgent went down the MRAP sped off with the SAS operatives. Jack stayed in that spot for a few more hours moving to several different buildings before calling it a day. His first kill was a counter snipe, and after his first day he finished with six sniper kills.
Jack made it back to base around 5pm. Driving his humvee in he was surprised to see Micheal waiting there for him. He had looked for him yesterday but couldn't find him, he hadn't even been at the brief. Jack had wanted to follow up since the last time they had spoken was on the plane. Exiting his vehicle he made his way over to him, interest peaked.
"Hey Micheal. I tried to find you yesterday, what's up?"
Micheal crossed his arms and said "yeah well you laid quite a bit on me and Evelyn and I needed some time to process it, still am. I also have about five million questions."
Jack chuckled at that before saying "and I am prepared to answer all of them. You deserve as much."
Micheal smiled at that before replying "I appreciate that. But first things first, work. I need a report, if you're working more in the agent aspect you have to give one every time. Luckily it's for you pretty short, Director Elkerton wants to know how many kills he will get credit for."
Jack let out a low growl at that. He really really really didn't like this elk riding on his back to glory. Sighing since he couldn't do anything about it at the moment Jack let out a grunt and said "nine. Helped a SAS team pinned down."
Micheal nodded and said "nice, a good first day. Was all of them with your sniper?"
Jack shook his head. "No six were. One was with my karambit and two with my pistol. My first sniper kill, or the one I popped my cherry on in sniper speak was an insurgent sniper. Shot and killed him through a wall."
Micheal tilted his head. "If you shot him through a wall how do you know he's dead?"
"Oh I went and checked. His head was completely gone."
Micheal's eyes widened and he said, "oh. Well then yeah, you definitely killed him. Okay well that's all I needed for your report. I have to go file this and attend to some other matters, I also know Evelyn needs you soon. So I'll drop by your room later with my five million questions okay?"
Jack nodded and replied "yeah that's fine, I definitely don't have time to answer that many questions because if I'm late I'm pretty certain Evelyn will kill me. So I'll see you later."
Micheal laughed at that and said "oh most definitely you'd be killed. See you later Jack."
(Jack in Evelyn's office)
It was a rare occasion, Jack was actually genuinely nervous. Here he was sitting on a couch, in a therapist's office, and he knew the therapist and considered her a friend. There Evelyn was sitting across from him, legs crossed pen and notebook in paw and her mannerisms completely changed. In its place was an air of professionalism that Jack found slightly unnerving.
Session had been in for about five minutes and so far they had sat there in awkward silence, Evelyn occasionally making a note as Jack sat there fidgeting awkwardly. Finally the silence became too much for him so he asked "um, can we start now?"
Evelyn made a note before saying, "okay, so the first thing I want to talk about is your time as a vigilante."
Jack'a ears twitched at that. "If she's going to be my therapist and truly help me….she needs to know the real truth…fuck. I'm probably about to lose my brand new therapist."
Leaning forward Jack said "can I have a moment of honesty?"
This peaked Evelyn's interest. "I encourage them. Go ahead."
"First things first, what I say stays in this room right? Full doctor-patient confidentiality? Even if you were no longer my therapist?"
Evelyn tilted her head. "…of course. Anything you say in here stays in here with me."
Jack nodded once. "Okay then. In my full moment of honesty…..I was never a vigilante. That is a fabricated lie, Elkerton's concoction."
This confused Evelyn greatly. "I'm sorry? Then what were you Jackson?"
"Here we go."
"I Jackson Tiberius Hunter was a criminal assassin working under the Corleone Crime Family. In exchange for my services I was paid well…and was allowed to fight my private war, with their help against the Prey Supremacy Society which over my tenure there I crippled…and hopefully wiped them out. I was an assassin for longer than it was said I was a vigilante and at a much younger age. Since my developmental age was much higher than my actual age I went under his employ at 12. That is of course after I killed a few of Big's mammals and just over a hundred PSS members of which included the ones that killed my parents. I entered at 12 because at 12 looked like I was 20 and my mental capacity exceeded that."
Evelyn looked like she just got hit by a freight train. "….what?"
Jack let out a sigh. "I guess I should start from the beginning, my story is a long one and….if after I tell it you still want to help my cold murdering ex-assassin self…you need to hear it."
(One origin story later)
Evelyn leaned back into her chair eyes wide as Jack finished his tale. He told her every detail of how he became an assassin and now he is waiting for her to react. Figuring she was going to end the session whenever she snapped out of it Jack stood and said "well I guess this concludes our first and last session since I doubt you want to try and fix one of the most wanted mammals on the planet."
Jack went to walk toward the door but Evelyn snagged his arm. "No, we're not done, and this isn't our last session. I just…needed to get over the shock. But your story, you were telling the truth. You killed only criminals, horrible mammals. Not to mention you waged a war against the most evil organization on the planet. While I don't agree with your methods….you made the world a better place. But, it was at the cost of your own soul. Now I think you need my help more than ever. Please sit back down."
Jack was pleasantly surprised, so he sat back down. Evelyn shifted in her seat and said "I can tell you were pleased to hear that I wasn't dropping you. Do you always expect the worst out of situations?"
Jack shrugged. "If you always expect the worse you're never disappointed when it happens, and excited and surprised when something good does happen."
Evelyn made a note and said "interesting. We will return to that later. For now I want to talk about all of the mammals you killed in your tenure as NightOwl, or Mr. NightOwl as you prefer for this instance. So just how many mammals did you kill?"
Jack didn't hesitate. "Seven hundred thirty two."
"Well that was fast. How are you so….actually never mind I'm not going to finish that sentence. Stupid question. So you've killed so many mammals, so I want to touch on one subject today. Regret. Specifically your regrets. Regret leads to guilt, and guilt leads to internal turmoil. So what do you regret?"
Jack tilted his head a bit. "Are you asking if I regret killing any one of them?"
Evelyn nodded and said "yes. That would be the general idea."
Jack shook his head. "Then no. I don't regret killing any of them, not one of the 732 I regret. They all deserved it wholeheartedly. I know they had families and all that mumbo jumbo but they were horrible, evil mammals, they got what they deserved plain and simple. I don't see them in my nightmares. Not in the slightest."
Evelyn blinked twice. "Okay, so of all the mammals you have killed. You regret none?"
"Correct."
Evelyn nodded. "Okay, so I guess we can check that off as a cause of your severe emotional trauma. But since we are still on the subject of regret, what is it you do regret?"
Jack tilted his head, this was one of the few things he had to think about. "Hmm. I regret my parents not getting to see me grow up, I regret that I walked out on my father…"
Evelyn cut Jack off. "I'm sorry, you said you regret walking out on your father. But he died along with your mother. Can you clarify?"
Jack nodded. "Yes well not my biological dad. Remember the badger I told you about that helped me track the ones that killed my parents? Well he basically raised me after I escaped HonorHall. He became like a second father to me pretty quickly….and I walked out on him. Hmmm, you know I never told him this either, maybe I should add that to the list. Anyway, it was just before the warehouse massacre, I was just about to hit them and he didn't want me to go through with it. He pleaded with me with tears in his eyes, said he wouldn't watch me do this to myself and I just walked right by him while telling him where the door was. He walked out of it, but he came back, and I made sure I was already gone."
Evelyn jotted down a few notes. "Okay, this is a good thing we can touch on later. So, are there any other regrets you have?"
Jack bobbed his head a little. "Well there's the big one, actually becoming a criminal assassin at 12. Killing a bunch of mammals before that. Feeling I had no choice but to do so, knowing I had to. I mean I was a kit! I was just a kit! I mean sure I had the mental capacity of a 20 year old, but does that really mean much when compared to my actual age? I mean….sweet karma…I was 12! A 12 year old faced with no choice but to become an assassin just so I could fight a shadow group hellbent on destroying everything that no one was going to fight! I mean….come on!"
Jack put his head in his paws at that, until now he never really thought about this. But now that he was, his head hurt. He really gave up any semblance of a childhood to fight a private shadow war against a secret cult. What the hell was he thinking?
Evelyn saw his distress and decided for the rest of the session this would be the topic. She could see this was already eating at him. "Okay Jackson, let's discuss this topic more. It's clear this is a stressful topic and a very big regret. So let's see if we can work on this."
*One hour later*
Jack left the session feeling a little better. They had discussed the topic of him giving up his childhood for the remainder of the session and Evelyn gave him some good advice as well as just listening to him vent. It was actually kind of uplifting. He still of course lit up a cigarette the second he left the building, his lash scars were mildly burning and it was annoying him.
This burning scars thing was something he decided would mention next session. It didn't seem…healthy. It definitely wasn't normal as far as he knew, so another thing to add to the pressing issues list. "This list just keeps getting longer and longer."
Jack was about halfway done with his cigarette when he saw Micheal coming towards him. He was tempted to put out the cigarette…but why waste it? So instead he just waved at Micheal while taking a drag. Micheal walked up to him and pointed to the cigarette. "So I took it, therapy didn't go so well?"
Jack blew the smoke away from Micheal and replied "no it actually went pretty good. Got some good advice, got to talk through some things. Still doesn't mean I'm one hundred percent okay, I am dredging up bad memories after all. Hence this, I was told it's okay to not be okay. So I am working through this….*sighs* it's just going to take a lonnng while."
Micheal put a paw on Jack's shoulder. "Hey, progress is progress. Things like this are going to take time but you'll get through this."
Jack bobbed his head as he finished his cigarette "thanks. So, ready to ask your five million questions?"
Micheal lit up a bit with a small tail wag. "Well yes I am! What did you have in mind?"
Jack gave Micheal a grin and replied "oh I don't know, MREs in dingy artificial light?"
Micheal laughed at that. "Sounds like a plan, but we do have real food here you know."
Jack shrugged as they began to walk towards the mess hall. "Fine, I suppose I can make it a fancy dinner."
Micheal simply chuckled and gave him a light push in response. Jack and Micheal got their dinners, both some medium quality salmon steaks, and went to Jack's room. They took their dinners over to the small round table and sat down digging in. Once their meals were halfway gone Jack paused his eating to say, "so mr. polka dots, whatcha got for me?"
Micheal chuckled. "You're still on that? So what if I wear polka dotted underwear sometimes, sue me. But okay okay…..ummm first question….darn there's just so many….ummmm what's the kill your most proud of?"
Jack arched a brow. "That's your first question? Okay. The kill I'm most proud of….ever heard of the serial killer called The Painter?"
Micheal's eyes widened. "YOU killed The Painter? No one knew who he was! We don't even know his species!"
Jack nodded a couple of times. "Yep sure did. Tricky bastard. I figured out a pattern, locations of killings lined up into a pentagram. So I just waited at one of the very possible spots and sure enough at the stroke of midnight, cliché right? Anyways in comes The Painter to make another "masterpiece" So, I made one of my own."
Micheal jerked a bit. "Wait wait wait. The last recorded victim of The Painter before he was marked as dormant…was The Painter himself?"
Jack took a bite of his food and then nodded a few times. "Sure was."
Micheal blanched "The Painter was a rabbit!?"
"Yep, the mammal you would least expect to be a psychopathic serial killer. Finding that prick and killing him was definitely my proudest kill….he killed an acquaintance of mine, he might have even become a friend. Polar bear bartender, wife, three kids, more like a teddy bear really. When I learned about his death, I made it personal."
Micheal put a paw on one of his. "I'm sorry to hear that."
Jack gave Micheal a small smile "thanks, now how about your other 4,999,999 questions?"
(Two hours later)
Micheal left Jack's room, dinner had finished a while ago but there were still a lot of questions Micheal wanted to ask. So Jack answered them all, sure he had to lie for quite a few of them but, he stuck more to the truth than usual. Once the questions were done they had some pleasant conversation before Micheal called it a night.
Now it was 11:30PM which meant it was 12pm back at home. So that meant he could now make a call, pulling out his satellite phone he dialed the number.
(Demetri)
Demetri Wolfgang was enjoying lunch with his tanuki mate Sarah when his private phone started to ring. Looking down at his pocket he tilted his head in confusion, very few people had this number, his mate, his daughter, and a few close friends. "Odd."
Sarah was confused too. "Honey who could be calling right now? I hope it's not Allie."
Demetri pulled out his phone "me neither…..and more odd…it's an unknown. Telemarketers can't even get this number. Wait wait wait….it says Afuristan."
Sarah raised an eyebrow. "And that jogs something? Waiiittt. You said your super secret asset was taking a long vacation. This is him isn't it, Jack whatever his last name is?"
Demetri was caught red pawed. "More than likely. I'll finally tell you all about him after this."
With that he answered the call. "Hello?"
Jack gave a cheery greeting. "Hey it's your favorite fox!"
Demetri immediately rolled his eyes. "That's quite debatable Jack. How the hell are you?"
"Hurtful. Well it's hotter than hell, the sun somehow is closer to the earth here, and everyone wants to kill me. I'm actually used to that last one. But other than that, I'm doing okay."
Sarah raised her eyebrow at that. "This Jack is pretty interesting."
Jack heard that. "Oh Sarah's there? Hold on a minute, have you never told her about me?"
"Uh, no? You told me never to divulge who you were to anyone at the company."
Jack smacked a paw to his face. "Demetri that doesn't pertain to your mate you idiot!"
Demetri blanched at that and Sarah began to laugh wholeheartedly. "Oh. Well then."
Jack shook his head. "I swear I'm older than you are sometimes you dumb wolf. Put me on speaker, I'll introduce myself formally."
Demetri let out an "okay." And then put the phone on speaker.
"Can you hear me Sarah?"
"Sure can."
"Well then allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Jackson Hunter, though I never go by Jackson, just Jack. You probably got a lot of questions I'm sure so I'll cover basics, I'm on a limited timeline. I have such sway with the company because I founded it, it was my brainchild which I brought to your idiot wolf. He started it up because I didn't desire to run the company and still don't. He only agreed to that on the condition that I was a majority stockholder and got a say in everything the company would do, every direction. Which is why I showed up those few times to take the company in a new direction. I also remained anonymous because of the job I DID have, and what it was is classified so make your best guess. Even Demetri can't divulge that information and he's not even fully informed on it. Your wolf can fill you in on the further details SINCE HE DIDN'T TELL YOU THEM ALREADY."
Sarah laughed at that last part. "I'll be sure to gruel him for them. It's a pleasure to finally meet you, even if it's over the phone. I hope we can meet sometime in the flesh."
"Likewise Sarah, Demetri hoards you too much. But anyways, to business. I found an application for those dimming contacts we worked up."
Demetri and Sarah both let out a "oh?" at the same time. "Yep, Military. EVERYONE here needs to wear sunglasses, the sun is so damn annoying! It's even worse for me naturally. So the problem is when we need to scope in, we have to pull up our sunglasses. That equals eye agony for us. The contacts would eliminate the need for sunglasses and minimize eye agony for everyone. So send me a pair pretty please with sugar on top. I'll do all the testing, call you with the results, and introduce the concept to the right mammals here, if it works out it benefits everyone."
A light bulb went off in Demetri's head as he replied "absolutely Jack, I'll send a pair right over. Might take a few days to get it to you though."
"That's fine, thanks Demetri. I gotta go now but save this number, call me if you need anything."
"Sure thing Jack, stay safe out there."
With that Demetri hung up the phone and Sarah saw the look on his face. "I know that look love, you're planning something, especially because you could get the package there by this time tomorrow."
Demetri smiled at his mate and said "honey I just had a wonderful idea."
And done!
So I hoped you all liked the triumphant return! A lot of stuff happened Jacks first day, his first therapy session, a interesting conversation with Micheal, and a phone call with Demetri that sets up some plans for the future. *wiggles eyebrows*
Now you are probably wondering why I've cut scenes short, well it's an easy explanation. It would take forever to fully go through them making these chapters ultra mega large, or they would be spilt into many many chapters. So many on fact that this story would end up being 200-300 chapters long! Which while some of you would love I just can't do.
The plan is for this story to be in the 40 to 60 chapter range, preferably more in the 40 range. I know it's not what most of you would want but I'm straining a bit as it is now to write and it's only going to get worse from here. So from now on I'll be focusing only on main points I want to hit with this story as I build to the finale!
This means you all get to see all the AFF love and action you want and I don't pull my hair out! Win win!
So please review/comment and tell me what you think! And if you are new to the story and like it please drop a fav and/or follow/ drop some kudos!
Next up is the next chapter for ATB! Then after that undecided!
So strap in for the ride but until then this is TheConcernedF0X signing off! See you next time!
