2 More Reapings left! I am so eager to get done with these reapings because they suck and I just want to write tribute interactions more. It's also NaNoWriMo month, so me being a complete genius- I'm focusing my time on 2 stories.

District 4 Reapings

~Baby, I'm sorry (I'm not sorry)

Being so bad got me feelin' so good

Showing you up like I knew that I would~

Audrey Holloway (18), District 4

Audrey grabbed her long, blonde hair and put it in a ponytail. She could feel eyes staring at her, but she made them no mind. She picked out a bow and arrow. She was really proficient at it, but honestly she knew she could be better.

Practice makes perfect, and time was running out. She was on the scout's top of the list, but she wasn't high enough that she was going to be chosen. Even from looking at the lists they posted up weekly, she was still not as high as she would have liked. She wanted to get to be the chosen one-not the back-up or not even getting a chance.

Audrey shot a few arrows, feeling the vibration of the string as she let her fingers slip from it. The arrow landed with a thud on the bullseye. She smiled and moved towards the next few. She nocked the arrow, pulled back the string back to her ear, and slowly let go. The next arrow also landed on the bullseye.

She grinned. She practiced it for a few more times, before removing the arrows from the bullseye. Audrey put the arrow, and the bow back from where it was previously. She was about to head over to the sparring matches, before a guy that looked like he was her age. He had curly, black hair with warm, brown eyes and tan skin.

"Hey… I couldn't but noticing that you're really good," He said.

"Oh thanks," Audrey smiled, flashing a little bit of her teeth.

"I'm Grey by the way," He said, putting his hand out to shake hers.

"Like the color?" She asked.

He nodded.

"Audrey," She said, before he shook her hand.

"I was wondering if uh, you weren't so busy-if you'd like to have…" He trailed off. His hand reaching up and rubbing his neck. He looked extremely nervous which Audrey was a little surprised. Most guys that asked her out weren't this nervous. He must have been new or something as she never seen him around before. Probably one of those district transfers.

Way before the dark days even happened, people were free to move around districts and travel through them. District transfers still happen in a few districts, but it became less common as the price went up that only the rich could afford. Audrey never met anyone who was a district transfer before. Her family was rich, but they liked staying in the district.

She stood there quietly, smiling softly at him as he tried to mumble out whatever he was going to say next. Some guys often acted like a complete idiot when they were trying to ask a girl out, and it seemed like this guy was no expectation.

It was a shame though. He was rather cute looking from most of the average guys that always asked her out.

"Are you trying to ask me out?" Audrey asked, a blush rising to her cheeks. "If so… I'd gladly say yes."

Grey sighed in relief and he kissed her on her cheek. She blushed and let Grey took her out for lunch.

The dinner date ended up going really well. Grey and Audrey talked about training, what they're favorite color was. It turned out that Grey had just moved in this part of the sector of District 4 a few days ago since his dad got a promotion.

"Here's your lunch," The waiter said. He gave them both what they ordered. Audrey- a chicken salad that was looking unappealing more and more. Normally, she would eat a salad as it didn't really cause her to gain anything and it would help her keep her energy. It was definitely one of the best things she ate when she was training.

She carefully picked out the chicken and placed it on a napkin. She put on a little bit of vinegar dressing, and ate it. She looked Grey in the eyes as he was eating a club sandwich with tomatoes, lettuce, chicken and swiss cheese.

"Do you want a bite?" He asked, noticing that she was staring at him.

"I'm good."

"If you say so." he went back to eating his sandwich. She stole a fry off his plate, and he smiled at her.

"If you wanted a fry-you could have said so," He replied, teasing her a little bit.

Audrey laughed a little bit. Soon, their date was over and they went over to his house where they'd watch a movie for the rest of the evening.

A few hours later, Audrey managed to untangle herself from Grey. She was woken up from her upset stomach. She headed towards the bathroom to wash herself up, but after a few seconds-she started retching into the toilet, which only happened once. Who knew starting in the toilet could be very unappealing to throw up.

It was only after a few minutes, that she got up from the toilet and washed her face and hands. It must have been the salad. The salad did kinda have the expired look to it. The vegetables could have been old and didn't agree with her system. That must have been it, Audrey thought to herself.

She was fine. It wasn't just something much more than that. It was just her stomach not agreeing with whatever she had. Audrey wasn't going to think much more beyond that. It was a simple matter of her stomach not agreeing with her.

~And I'm loving every step I take

With the sun beating down yes

I'm on my way~

Brine Clemont (16), District 4

Brine looked at Lynlee's form. Her form was extremely messy, similar to what he was before he broke down-and started watching everyone, and practicing in private. She was decent at throwing knives, but she kept missing the bullseye and some of her throwing knives didn't even reach the bullseye. He could easily tell what she was doing it wrong.

Lynlee had a good posture, but she was much too stiff, and her throw was a little too weak. It was a common mistake, most beginners did. Brine cleared his throat and Lynlee's brown eyes looked at him with curiosity written on her face.

"What?" She asked.

"You're doing it again," He commented. "Your body is much too stiff. It has to be relaxed in order for your throws to stay on the target."

Brine did the correct stance for her to follow. He helped her out with her posture as she needed to be straight, along with being relaxed. He motioned for her right leg to be forward and her right arm to be slightly out-but she still looked a little tense especially in the shoulder and arm wise.

"Stop overthinking about whatever you're worried about. Relax your body like you're going out for a walk."

Brine watched as his younger sister corrected her stance. She looked a little more natural especially in her arms than she was previously.

"Now try again," He instructed.

Lynlee nodded. She placed her right foot forward, her body relaxed as much as she could get it, and threw a knife at the target. It hitted the target with a loud thud, and he smiled. Brine hoped that his comments would stop getting her in the habit of being in a stiff stance which was the reason why she kept missing almost all her targets. Only two or three actually made the target, which wasn't too bad-but needed more improvement on.

"I did it!" Lynlee exclaimed and Brine smiled at her progress. He watched as she did it again. She grabbed another throwing knife from the table right beside her, relaxed her stance, placed her right foot forward and did a half throw spin.

A half throw spin was one of the easiest things to do as long as people remembered how to do it. It started as being in the correct stance, holding the blade towards your ear, with the handle up high and then throwing the knife about six feet apart. It was one of the very beginner moves that all the careers learned when first starting out.

Brine smiled. She was catching on more than he had when he first started. At least, she wouldn't be put at the pressure of failing out of the academy like he was. But he was really proud of his little sister since she just started.

"Thanks for your help!" She yelled.

Brine headed out to go find someone to help with. This was something that he really liked doing, especially since he wanted all the newbies to succeed. The only thing he really didn't like how some of the newbies acted like they were better than him, when he'd been training for six years. He had a good grasp on things.

He had a mastery of quite a bit of things. It wasn't too bad when he finally had grasp on things. There were still quite a bit of things that he still hadn't got a mastery on it especially when it came to bow and arrow or sparring. He was quite proficient in those, not as much as he would have liked-but it was really good.

Brine spotted his two friends, hanging out at the swimming pool. He saw Nema who still hadn't gotten in yet, with Mako keeping his head above the water.

"Come on, Nema," Mako said. "The water is not that bad. It's not going to ruin your hair."

"But it might… Besides you know how much I work so hard," Nema commented, still looking at the water.

"Yeah like two hours if you had the option to," Brine joked. Nema looked at him scowling. He grinned.

"I do not," She said. "Beauty does take time you know."

"Yeah, I know," He said.

Brine took off his shoes, he glanced at the pool water. He looked at where everyone was including Mako. Mako was the only one who was closest to where he was going to jump. He didn't want to hurt Mako in any way or even knock him unconscious, so he had to be careful. Brine took a few steps back, before running towards the pool and jumping into it.

Brine soon felt the rush of the cold water as his body hit the water. His feet touched the smooth yet rough bottom, and kicked himself up to where his head was now over the water. He swam towards where Mako was currently trying to urge Nema to jump in the pool.

"Come on, Nema," Brine urged. "It's not so bad…"

The water was quite warm after his body got used to it. Nema was still being stubborn, but eventually gave in. Nema took off her shoes and shirt to reveal part of her bathing suit. She than jumped in, and splashed both of them once her head reached the surface.

They laughed while splashing each other with water, before they practiced their strokes and how quick they could get to the other side. Brine was the winner two out of three times mostly due to his skills in swimming. The third time was mainly because he waited for someone to get out of the way fully before he continued to swim.

~I can dream about what happens when you see my face again

The only thing I wanna do

Is make it up to you~

Emma Benoit, District 4 Mentor

Emma felt the familiar rush of the cold water as she jumped into the pool. She loved the way the water felt around her skin. It always gave her time to think, a chance to clear out her head. Ever since, she put Simba-she felt lost and the pool was one of the things that helped. Swimming was just something that helped her.

It also prevented her from thinking about her time in the Hunger Games. How many tributes she killed, her friends and allies that died in the process of her becoming the victor. Those mutts that the gamemakers did during her games to up the stakes tore her up quite a bit. She could still remember those fish mutts that were able to walk on land in such a creepy way. Those mutts walked like an alligator but they had the body of a fish.

Emma suddenly started choking on the chlorine water of the pool, the moment she started thinking about the arena. She choked, trying to catch her breath and focus on where she was. She was no longer in the Hunger Games. She was okay and that was that. Her near death incident was over. She'd be fine.

She was back home safe and sound. She was in one of District 4's many swimming pools, training. Emma had been hoping that she would be able to get on one of district four's swimming teams for a while. Ever since she was a little girl, she'd been dreaming of a shot in going through the swimming Olympics. Her idol, Aarna Patel, was one of the youngest competitors, and one of the youngest who won a silver medal.

Emma took her cap, and goggles for a few minutes. She heard soft footsteps, and a door closing behind them. She looked up to see a familiar sight. Her best friend Kanuna had a reddish brown skin, with heavy lidded, big, black eyes. Her thick, black hair was tied in two braids. Emma had been jealous of Kanuna for knowing her ancestry, and the way she looked.

Her pale skin never worked well in District 4, and she always got burnt within thirty minutes in being in the sun. She always had to leave the house under tons of layers of sunscreen just to avoid getting sunburned.

"How many laps have you done?" Kanuna said, before kneeling down on the side of the wall, where she was at. "Fifteen?"

Emma chuckled a little bit. "Hah-Hah… Like thirty five or so. I lost track after ten…"

"How's your back strokes going?" She asked.

"Pretty good. Good news, my shoulders are starting not to hurt so much-but I'm really out of shape."

"Have you tried going to the gym or something? Or at least, find something that'll help you move your shoulders faster minus going to the pool everyday."

"You know I don't like going to the gym."

"But it might do you some good...Besides, you do need to work out your core muscles," Kanuna commented. "It'll help you out a lot, with your issues."

"Geez thanks," Emma snarked back. "So encouraging."

She pulled herself out from the pool, and hugged her arms tightly. The hairs on her arm raised up slightly, and she rushed to the bench where her stuff was laying at. She wrapped herself up in her white towel, and sat down. Emma pulled out her water bottle and chugged its contents out of it.

"So what are you doing here? You don't like swimming pools or anything like that." Emma inquired. It was true, her best friend-Kanuna had a crippling fear of water that she never actually went into water, unless it was taking a shower, but other than that-she avoided water like the plague.

"I just wanted to see if you wanted to hang out? Go see a movie or something?" Kanuna asked.

"What? You mean you're not too busy with your boyfriend-Josh or something? Ever since you started dating him, I've been the third wheel since you eventually stopped talking and hanging out with me?"

"Yeah… I kinda maybe broke up with him… Our relationship was purely sexual. I didn't know how greedy the damn bastard was with his tastes…I'm sure you really don't want to hear the whole story…"

"Tell me," Emma demanded. She knew she was acting like a teen girl wanting to know everything, but honestly break up stories were her tea. She had to know about it, especially since her best friend abandoned her.

"Okay...Josh, the biggest jerk in the entire world, moved in with my family-but he wasn't helping out there. Eventually, my family decided that they had enough and kicked me and him out…

"I saw the signs a few months later. I had to get rid of all my stuff for him. He wanted everything new. He made me cut all my contacts with everyone including you, so I could spend all the time with him. Besides, eventually the sex was not bringing me joy or pleasure anymore. I had a couple of miscarriages, and I broke up with him soon after that.

"I've been trying to see if I could live back with my parents again and value my culture that I have… They're still reluctant, much they are giving me a second chance again at least."

"Better than nothing…" Emma said, before she headed off to the locker room to get changed back into her shorts, and her white tank-top. She peeled off her wet swim-suit, and applied her sun-screen on.

She met Kanuna outside and asked what movie they were seeing.

"The Glass Shoe."

Emma bursted into a grin. She had been dying to see that one. Every time, she had been meaning to see it-the tickets were sold out or it was too late.

"Let's do it."

~Kiss me once 'cause you know I had a long night

(Oh!) Kiss me twice 'cause it's gonna be alright

Three times 'cause I've waited my whole life~

Dock Johanson, District 4 Mentor

Dock placed his shot of whiskey on the table. HIs buddies laughing and yelling in the background.

"Done!" Dock screamed. He and his friends were trying to see who could take the most shots. It was something to do on a Saturday night when there were really no responsibilities, and he could get away from it all. "That's uhh, like 5?"

He stared at shot glasses trying to remember how to count, and how many he did. The fog of the alcohol already kicking in, made it hard and he was never good at math. Math had always been a challenge when he was in school which was why he dropped out of high school right after he won the games. He wasn't that good at school, but the nightmares and trying t survive made it hard.

And besides, school was basically a waste. The only thing he really needed to know was how to read, write and how to do basic math. School never taught him to have safe sex, how to have a mental health, pay rent or even figure out a bank account.

"I think I'm going to be sick," One of his buddies-Darius complained. His normally tan skin looked a little pale, and his warm brown eyes were cloudy. All of a sudden he threw up all over Liam who grimaced.

"How many shots did you have?" Jorge asked. "Like three?"

"Uhh, I think so," Darius confirmed. He looked really drowsy and even more greener if that was even possible.

"Dude, you're such a lightweight," Dock joined in. "Why did you come with us if you literally got sick within like ten minutes?"

"I'll go take him home," Liam commented. "And go clean myself up in the process." He grimaced. Dock looked at his outfit. His black slacks, white shoes all had signs that someone vomited on them. He could see a little bit of food that looked like chicken and maybe rice. It was so hard to tell.

"See ya," Dock waved at him. Liam took Darius by the shoulders and directed him towards the restroom, probably put him near a toilet in case, he threw again. And Liam, just to clean himself up due to Darius' little puking accident.

"Give me another shot, bartender," Dock called out. The bartender looked at him briefly. His dark brown eyes that nearly looked black. The Bartender looked like he had South-East Asian Ancestry, his skin as chalk-pale.

"Whiskey?" The bartender inquired.

Dock nodded, and the bartender poured him another shot of whiskey. He muttered a thanks to the Bartender, and took a swing of it. It really wasn't too much fun without his other buddies around, but he was in a club-and there was always something to do.

"So what- you goin' to do," Jorge asked, slurring his words a little bit. "I mean with them gone… It kinda ruined our nigh'."

"Err-we can always dance on the dance floor or something?" He suggested.

There really was nothing else to do. It was still too early in the night to call it quits. And besides, he did not want to try and sleep tonight. The nightmares have increased and honestly, Dock never appreciated them. It was better spending the nights being up and slept when he was truly exhausted or sleeping pills.

"Could I get a whiskey?" Jorge asked. The bartender poured him a cup and he drank it quickly. His stubble glistened with sweat, and he looked like he was going to lose his balance any minute now.

"Look man-I have a secret… I have…." He started. Dock looked at him curiously. It was a strange thing to say even while drunk. He wasn't drunk enough to handle whatever he may say next or what he think Jorge was trying to say. It was a really weird thing to say-sober or not.

"What are you saying?" Dock inquired.

"Since the time I met you… I always had a crush on you," Jorge finally admitted after a couple of minutes. His cheeks blushed a bright tomato red, and Dock simply stared at him. He was really unexpecting that.

That explained everything really. Why Jorge always became so flustered when he was talking to Dock. Why, Jorge always avoided meeting him alone or even sharing a few sentences. They only really saw each other when the whole group hung out which was only once a month really.

"Oh… I wasn't expecting that," He started. He took a deep breath before continuing on, "I guess I have feelings for you too."

"You do?"

"Yeah… I've just been too nervous to admit that."

"So what now?"

"A kiss or something… I'm just really new at this."

"Sure, why not."

Jorge leaned in more. Dock stared at a little pimple he never really noticed that was on Jorge's chin. He saw a couple of freckles that were near his bright green eyes. Jorge puckered his lips, and Dock kissed him back.

He certainly wasn't a bad kisser, and honestly it felt right. This was something that he would have to get used to, if he actually wanted to start dating him. It was something entirely new to him.

"So what now?" Jorge asked, a little flustered.

"Do you want to start dating or something?" Dock interrupted him, before Jorge had time to say anything else.

"We could give it a shot," he said.

Dock grinned. This was something he couldn't wait to experience. It would be nice seeing someone, and having someone cheer him when his mental health got worse. It'd be nice to see how this will go.

~That's got me feeling this way (feeling this way)

It beats me black and blue but it fucks me so good

And I can't get enough~

Hades Joran, DIstrict 4 Escort

Hades drummed his fingers lightly on the table in front of him. He was humming a song that he and his band were playing a few nights ago. It was a melody that was so catchy that he couldn't help, but hum it every time he wanted to. It also helped him feel like he was on top of the world.

And honestly, he probably was. Everything was going right. Everything was perfectly fine, and he was okay with it. He could focus on escorting again for the tributes. He could focus on making an album with his band.

Everything was great and he was happy about it! And Hades still couldn't believe that a few nights ago, someone spotted their talent and wanted to agent them. And there was a record label who was willing to let them record for an assertive fee of course, but money was not an issue.

Besides, anything was better than playing in Jasmyne's basement. It was a little bit on the awkward side whenever he knocked with his flute case and his bag, hanging on his shoulder. And just knocking, asking to come in and play in the basement was even more awkward. Hades had no idea why her parents didn't mind, nor did they ever question them.

The only thing they brought was embarrassing stories about Jasmyne when she was younger. How she always ran around naked, wearing food quite a bit. How she would always pretended that she was an astronaut and wanted to enter space or even a space academy. Those embarrassing stories always made Jasmyne blushed, while the others laughed at the picture. And of course, her parents always fed them with fresh baked cookies, biscuits and whatever they wanted to bring.

He wasn't complaining. Hades hadn't had a home made meal in ages ever since he casted out his parents when they proclaimed the rebels, and his aunt and uncle died a couple of years back. He was alone, but he didn't mind it. He had his friends to spend time with, and a band who was finally going places.

He kept humming as he styled his head into an emo hairstyle. He made sure that he got a new look yesterday before he left. Besides, Hades was in dire need of changing his appearance. his skin already turned so pale, that it was probably near a shade to a piece of paper. He wanted to dark it into a very light

His long, newly darkened hairstyle with a couple of rainbow fringes in it. He used quite a bit of hairspray to let the couple of pieces sticking out to stay there. He was nearly perfect. Hades had his rock band hairstyle, something that reminded him of the good times. And his suit that matched the district's colors. A suit that took him a few hours to find, but it was all worth it.

"Alright, let's do this," He told himself, looking in the mirror. And he couldn't wait! Escorting was one of his favorite parts of the entire year, and it was so fun to reap the two tributes. Maybe one of them could surprise him again. He already had two victors under his belt, and he didn't mind having a few more.

He nodded at the few peacekeepers who stood near the wall, guns drawn. He opened the doors, and sat next to the mayor with his two children. He looked at the crowed and smiled.

He waited until the mayor introduced him, and he got up. He still couldn't help but grinned as he stared in the bored looking crowd. He cleared his throat, before continuing on,

"Thanks for the introduction, Mr. Mayor! I am Hades Jordan, this year's escort for the 10th annual Hunger Games! Before I even get to reap the two tributes, I am required by protocol on the reason why we have the Hunger Games!" He said.

The video blared on. He listened to it every word which got really boring, and something that he could recite in his sleep, if he wanted too. It was a small price to pay, if he wanted to keep escorting for another few years.

After a couple of minutes, the time finally came. He smiled and exclaimed,

"I just love that… Anyways, our two tributes are…" He dipped one hand into the female tribute bowl, and pulled out one white slip.

"Rin Yang!"

He heard a small terrified squeak that sounded like it came from the fourteen year old section. Before the female-Rin was able to move a couple of steps, a loud voice cried out,

"I volunteer as tribute!"

The crowd parted to reveal a gorgeous girl who looked like she was seventeen or eighteen years old. Her long blonde hair was in a high ponytail. She had on a gleaming, blue shirt with black yoga pants on. She had one of the biggest smiles while she walked up the stage.

"Audrey Holloway! Age eighteen," She said.

He nodded, and picked out another white slip-this time from the opposite. He opened it and read out the name.

"Brandon Thomas!"

There was absolute silence when the guy began shuffling his feet. HIs face had a look of being petrified, but before he could even get out the crowd. A voice was heard,

"I volunteer!"

A tall kind with a fit build, walked out. He looked really tall, but younger than the guy who was reaped. He walked out a little nervous, but was able to walk on his own.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Brine Clemont, age sixteen," he said.

Hades nodded.

"Your two tributes-Audrey Holloway and Brine Clemont!" He held up their hands, before he guided them into the Justice Hall to say goodbye to their families and friends, before they got on the train.

~The sun will come out, wait and see

And the feeling of the wind in your face

Can lift your heart~

Brine Clemont (16), District 4

Brine looked at his sand dollar coin in his pocket. He found it while he was on the beach this morning, and honestly-it was a perfect reminder of home. Brine had found a couple of sand dollars on the beach a few times and they were always a pleasant reminder that the beach offered beautiful things, but can also be deadly.

He still had no idea what he was thinking when he volunteered for Brandon. He knew he didn't want Brandon's kid to grow up fatherless. He knew that Brandon managed to get a girl pregnant, and was expecting a child in a few months-but he was merely thinking of the fetus. He knew from first hand experience, that growing up without a parent was hard-no matter what the circumstance was.

The door opened and he saw Brandon weeping, clutching his girlfriend-Jaya's hand. Jaya was only sixteen and was merely five or six months pregnant. Brandon looked him in the eyes, and hugged him as tight as he could.

"Thanks, man… You have no idea how much this means to me… I get to actually meet my wonderful son," He said.

"You're welcome… I just didn't want to see a family torn apart, and a kid to grow up parentless."

"Just make it back," Jaya whispered. She kissed his temple, and embraced him before he and his girlfriend left him.

Brine moved his black hair back from his face. He wiped away a few tears that he didn't even notice that he was crying. He stood there, tyring to compose his breathing. The door opened again to reveal his dad, his dad's girlfriend who was also his trainor, and his sister.

"Nice job kid… I wasn't expecting it, but with your luck and training-you could win,." HIs dad's girlfriend-Francine said. "You managed to beat the kid who was supposed to volunteer, but chicken out at the last minute… You have it in you, or else I wouldn't be scouting you."

"Thanks," He said.

He looked at his dad who hugged him, tightly.

"Show the district who is boss, and that you shouldn't be underestimated," His dad said.

"I will."

Brine let go of his father, before his sister, Lynlee punched him in the arm. It was hard enough to cause some pain, but not hard enough to bruise.

"You idiot… How could you do that. You threw away your future to save the guy on our block?"

Brine managed to say that he was sorry along with other things. He hugged his family for what maybe the last time, before they headed out. He was met with silence for only a few minutes before his friends managed to show up.

"You didn't say you were volunteering," His friend-Mako said. "Didn't the scouts tell you that you were game for next year's or the year after that, not today."

"I wasn't, but things changed when I recognized the name… The guy was expecting his child. I was about to let that kid grow up to be fatherless," he said.

"Heh, maybe I could follow into your footsteps next year or something," Nema said.

"But that means, you have to get out of the bathroom less often," Brine commented. "You stay in there for about two hours getting ready."

"I do not. It's only thirty minutes, and besides beauty takes time," She said.

They laughed, and chatted for a few minutes before they waved goodbye to each other.

~Now payback is a bad bitch

And baby, I'm the baddest

You fuckin' with a savage~

Audrey Holloway (18), District 4

Audrey clutched her stomach slightly. Her stomach was again, starting to be upset at what she had for breakfast this morning. The bacon and eggs tasted really good, but now, it was making her stomach upset. It might have been the egss as she wasn't a huge fan of them in the first place.

Eggs always had a hard time with her stomach. She didn't like them, but ate them in little amounts. She'll be fine after she had something to drink. Water always helped her upset stomach including green tea, but right now that'd have to wait until she got on the train.

She was still really excited that she volunteered, especially since she was chosen to be the volunteer. This was what she was training for. She was going to win these games and no one would be able to stop her.

The door opened. She didn't really have to look up to really know who it is. Her mom hugged her tightly and said in a sweet voice,

"Oh my little baby… I can't believe you volunteered."

"Mom," She whined, trying to push her way out of her mom's grips. "I'll be fine… Let me go."

Eventually, her mom let her go and she was relieved. Her dad also hugged her, just not as tight which she was grateful for.

"Good luck out there…" He said, trailing off.

"Thanks."

They chatted about whatever, and how her dad's fishing went. Eventually, it was time for them to leave and Audrey was left alone. She knew she had to become a little more responsible especially with her baby, but she'd be able to do it.

After a couple of minutes, her friend-Misty finally came by and visited her. She looked oddly calm, if not a little angry. It was probably since the last few weeks, she had beat Misty through and through for the volunteer spot.

"I would say good luck out there, but I don't think you need it," She said.

"You know I worked so hard for this...Winning the games was my dream for so long, and it's my shot to get victory," Audrey said.

That was true. Audrey spent the last decade idealizing the games. She loved the murder, the blood and gore-and how each year it was different for each of the tributes. Audrey watched the games multiple times and noted down what each victor's plan was.

"If you say so."

This chapter became a little too happy, but it works in this very crazy world right now. But also, don't get used to these updates as they might not last that long. 1 more reaping, and that should be on the easy side. I was supposed to have this chapter up like a few days ago, but the site was malfunctioning and the stress about the elections. Drop a review down below and tell me what you think about D4 characters!
