Chapter 15: Danny in distress and an unexpected alliance
Misty's eyes and hands glowed green as she began to recite her spell.
After a few moments of concentration, smoke appeared, and an image began to form from the gas, which caused some looks of shock and amazement from the others.
"What are you doing?..."Tucker asked.
"I don't have enough energy to make a portal, but I think that I can see where they might be. Now, be quiet. I need silence for this..."Misty said as she continued to focus on her spell.
"I just need a bit more time to focus on Danny's presence and his surroundings...then I just might be able to open a window that'll show us where he could be..."She said, as her eyes and mouth became bright green as she began to chat something in Chinese.
The smoke shifted, becoming solid, and they then saw an image of Danny, who is still unconscious.
"Danny!..."Star whispered in worry, as the background began to form.
Danny was safe, laying down on a mattress that seemed to be holding him upright with some fancy cushions. As the smoke formed more images, the floor, littered with clean tiles, gave way to a bed of high quality were seen.
"Any idea where they are?..."Misty asked, as Star and the others began to check the details.
Star checked and gasped once she recognized the location.
"I know where they are. They're at the Milton Hotel up North. I recognize what kind of beds they have, since Danny and I saw the inside of the rooms one time when we were looking for lunch..."Star said, recalling how she and Danny went on a date there and had the misfortune of running into that brat there.
"Figures that Colette would chose the most fancy place in town to hide Danny..."Sam said as Misty ended the image.
She panted before turning to the others.
"We gotta go there and put a stop to things, but I already used my powers to speed me up here. I need some time to recharge a bit before I can use another spell..."Misty said.
"My car is parked near here..."Jazz offered.
"That will take too long, we gotta take to the skies.! Hop on!..."Valerie said, pointing to her jet sled.
"I just said that I-..."Misty was cut off when Star covered her mouth with one hand.
"Shut up and stay quiet! We can't stay here arguing! The longer this takes, the more my Danny's in danger!..."Star said, pulling the girl towards the others. "We go now! By air!..."She said, making it clear that there is no room for argument.
"And just how can we fit on that board?!…"Misty snarked, pointing to Valerie's jet sled that barely seemed to fit two people.
"Oh, I never said that you and I are riding with Valerie. I have a different mode of transportation in mind. One where I can keep an eye on you..."Her blonde rival said, doing the "I'm watching you" gesture as she did something unexpected in front of everyone
A pair of rings soon appeared and Star shifted to her heroic, ghost form, much to the newcomer's shock. Misty's jaw dropped, hitting the floor as she generated so many questions in her head.
Right now the implications of her meddling seemed to have vanished and be forgotten, as her mind went in circles and took time to come back as she wondered how this might have been connected to the necklace.
The only words Misty could utter right now were ones that were obvious.
"You're Starlight Spirit?!.."Misty exclaimed, while the others were shocked.
"Star?!..."Sam exclaimed, while the rest of the group were stunned by her sudden decision.
"We don't have time to tiptoe around her and play dumb. Time to speed up..."Star said, before turning to Misty and yanking her forward.
"Yes, I'm Starlight Spirit! No, I'm not telling you how or why this happened but just know this, if you breathe a word of this to ANYONE, I will make your life a living nightmare, you hear me?! IF YOU THOUGHT COLETTE WAS BAD, WAIT TILL YOU SEE ME WHEN I'M AT MY ANGRIEST! I WILL BE ON YOU LIKE A RASH! AND IF YOU EVER EXPOSE MY SECRET, THEN I'LL EXPOSE YOURS AND TRUST ME ON THIS, YOU CERTAINLY DON'T WANT TO SEE WHAT I CAN DO WHEN I'VE GOT NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE! GOT IT?!..."Star said, her anger growing with intensity .
Misty gulped loudly, backing away with a shiver. She just realized that she had just stepped on a metaphorical land mine and saw the look of a vengeful person in Star's eyes, realizing she means it.
She nodded quickly, knowing it would not be wise to peeve her off anymore.
"Good..." Star said.
"I'm really starting to regret some past choices…"She thought, as then saw Star's do something that she previously thought to be impossible.
Star soon turned to 3 copies, grabbed Misty and turned to the others. Tucker boarded Valerie's jet sled, and the other Star's grabbed Jazz and Sam too.
They soon took off to the skies, ready to go rescue the ghost boy in distress.
"Now let's go save my Danny-Boo!..."She said, phasing the group through several buildings and flying at top speed.
All the two girls in love with him can hope right now is that they're not too late.
Meanwhile
"Mrrr..."Danny let out as he slowly regained consciousness.
He sat up and hissed, feeling a headache right now. He groaned.
"Man, why do I feel like I just got hit by a rhino?..."He asked, gripping his head.
He wanted to go ghost and leave. Or he would have, if he hadn't noticed that he was in a very fancy looking hotel room, knowing only one person who could've brought him there.
"Lève-toi et brille, Mon amore!~..."A snooty voice said, saying "Rise and shine, my love" in French, along with a cocky giggle.
Danny's eyes shot open as he got up and saw that it as Colette in her ghost form. He frowned, before turning away in anger and disgust.
"So, it wasn't a nightmare? Bummer..."Danny grumbled.
Colette smirked.
"Aw, you were dreaming of moi? That is so sweet..."She said in a coy fashion.
"As sweet as spoiled milk!..."Danny snarked.
He tried to get away, but soon saw where they were.
"WHAT THE HECK?!..."He exclaimed, upon seeing where they were.
It was the top floor of the Milton Hotel in Polter Heights, a place he and Star visited once for lunch and ran into Colette there by accident. And because it was the top floor, that meant he couldn't go ghost to escape her. Not without risking his secret in the process.
"Seriously, you brought me here of all places..."He muttered, while Colette giggled again.
"We are finally alone, Darling. I hope you like the location, I had it decorated special for you..."The villainess said, acting like she wasn't keeping him here against his will.
Danny frowned harder.
"You just couldn't help yourself, but pick the most pricey place to hold me hostage huh?..."He said, stepping back as she got closer.
"Hostage? Non. I merely relocated you despite your vocal disapproval..."She said, trying to sound innocent.
"That's kidnapping, which is exactly what taking a hostage is!..." Danny said flatly, while he kept his guard up.
"This is not good. I gotta find a way to get away, hide and go ghost!..."He thought, as he tried to find an escape.
Danny checked his surroundings, which didn't result much good news for him. There was only one way out and it was blocked by a certain someone.
He remained silent, contemplating his actions as the new supervillainess kept coming towards him with visible lust in her eyes.
"This is NOT good!..."Danny thought, keeping his guard up and trying to keep away.
"Now, Mon Amore... I believe that we have all the time in my world to...talk..."Colette said, walking over with a seductive sway.
"What about?..."Danny said, playing dumb as he stepped back to get away from her.
He did not like the look in Colette's eyes, especially as she kept trying to invade his personal space and sound as seductive as possible.
"About us…"The villainess said, as she trailed her hands across the costume.
"There is no "us". And there never WILL be..."He grumbled with disdain, but she didn't seem to hear him as she kept getting in his face with her new costume.
"This outfit is most unbefitting of me, but as the Americans say, whatever works. Although, there won't be enough time to talk about our love…"She said, as giggled an arrogantly overconfident laugh.
"I was afraid of that…"Danny kept his eyes on his captor.
No telling what she would do, especially with powers. And with Danny not being able to "Go Ghost" without exposing his secret identity to the worst person possible, he was practically a sitting duck right now.
"Can't believe I miss Ember right now..."He thought as Colette winked at him.
"You like?…"Colette said as she fluffed her hair, taking the boy's eyes the wrong way.
"Fashionable or not, this is to your liking, oui? Skin…taunt—tight, but my face is more magnifique. Like the sun…of course I'll be changing that soon…and so will you…"She said, letting her confidence do most of the talking instead of her brain.
As she kept bragging about herself in such a manner, the ghost boy was getting annoyed by listening to her go on about herself and her voice made him wish he could knock himself out.
"Great, even her ego is getting supercharged now too…"Danny muttered.
He did not notice his body backing into a corner until it was too late, as he felt the wall.
"And this is worse…"He muttered, realizing that she literally backed him into a corner.
"Nowhere left to run, Mon Amore..."Colette said, as she eyed him like a shiny new trophy.
Danny, now trapped, was pulled closer to Colette, who was licking her lips like a lioness cornering a helpless zebra.
"Never mind, this is…"Danny snarked, as she still didn't back off.
"Then let's make it better..."Colette cooed, much to the pale boy's horror.
"You could leave me alone instead..." Danny said, not as a suggestion.
"Oh, don't play so hard to get, Darling. It's not like you have anywhere to go..."Colette said as she saw him try his best to slip away from her.
"Watch me!..."The ghost boy shouted, as he pushed her off.
Danny managed to get around her and regain some distance away from her. However, Colette used her speed to fly past him and get to the door.
She scoffed at his attempt, rolling her eyes.
"Trying to continue our game of the chase, Darling?..."Colette said coyly, before using her powers to fly over his head and get in his path, making him stop.
"I do believe that you have been caught, like the mouse and the cat..."She said in a teasing way.
The ghost boy growled.
"Will you quit it with these crazy games and just leave me alone already?!..."Danny snapped, already getting sick of Colette not taking a hint.
"Non, I do not think that I will. We are finally together, Mon Amore. Now for our mutual reward..."She said in a half playful, half possessive way.
"I wouldn't call that a reward. Watch me get away from you!..."Danny snapped, pushing her back but she refused to budge.
"I'm watching you waste time. Besides, you'll do well to stay with me..."The spoiled brat said with intrigue.
"What are you going on about?..." Danny asked.
"Because my side will be the safest Amity Park will be..."Colette said evilly, with a notable wicked smile on her face.
"I don't like what she's implying..."Danny thought as he tried to kill time.
"What do you plan on doing?..."He asked, still looking for an escape.
"Is it not obvious? Aside from us finally being together, I am also going to fulfill my other destiny..."Colette said, looking excited but sounding ominous as she said this.
"What destiny? To go back to France and continue to sponge off your families money and never work a day in your life?..."Danny said in an insulting way, but she didn't notice his sarcasm.
"That is my OLD destiny, darling. Non, I have been granted a NEW destiny, one where I am in the position that I was always meant to be...above everyone else..."Colette said, as she floated mid air to dramatically prove her point.
"Which is?..."Danny said, looking at her as if she really was insane from what she just said.
"I am taking my rightful place in the world..."Colette said in a sinister way, feeling power crazy and developing a serious god complex.
"You're not seriously going from spoiled brat to world conqueror, are you?..." Danny asked incredulously.
"Oui..." Colette responded, acting like it as no big deal.
"You're serious?! You're a spoiled brat who likes to bully people to get what she wants! You don't actually want to take over the world, do you? No. You wouldn't know what to do with it, except maybe shout at it..."Danny said, shaking his head.
"If that's what it boils down to, so be it. Besides, if I become queen of the world...I will be able to always get my way and I can have everything I want. No one would dare oppose me or annoy me. It's the perfect position for me. After all, a goddess should be worshiped by the lowly peasants, after all..."She said, not seeing his argument for why her sudden change made no sense to him.
Danny just set her a flat look, realizing that she's too dense to see how her idea of world domination didn't mesh with her. He couldn't quite tell if she was really this vain of a person or if she was just playing out some fantasy she saw in a movie that she never finished.
Probably both.
"You're insane..."He said, hating this.
She didn't seem to hear him, as she seemed entranced by her own power and voice. Instead, she had something else in mind.
"With all these powers at my disposal, I'll finally have everything that I desire! I will rename this country after me, crown us rulers, then claim more lands under my name. And the best part about this is that I'll barely have to lift a finger to do it thanks to my incredible power!..."Colette said, sinisterly before swooning in the air.
"Besides, I think the little ones would love to vacation once I take Paris..."She added, almost looking like a giddy school girl than a villain.
The ghost boy kept looking at her like she belongs on a funny farm.
"She really is another Vlad in the making...which is somehow even creepier than I expected! I gotta get away from her!..."Danny thought, feeling absolutely disgusted while trying to find a way out.
While Colette seemed to be distracted by her own super powered delusions and fantasies, Danny tried to sneak away. However, before he could get 5 feet away, Colette landed in front of him, blocking his way.
"Of course..."Danny muttered, while Colette sent him the "caught you" look.
"Now, Darling. Did you really think that you could get away from me that easy?..."She asked in a coy, teasing way, clearly enjoying the perceived power she had over him.
"Can't blame a guy for trying..."Danny muttered while Colette then rubbed her hands in anticipation.
"Anyway, I do believe that it is time to get back to important matters...such as us and our future together..."Colette said, as she slowly took a few steps closer to him.
"We DON'T have a future together, Colette! You know that I only love Star and I always will!..."Danny yelled at her, she clearly ignored his words and she wasn't changing her expression of lust.
"That all changes right now..."Colette said, with an obsessive look on her face.
"And why is that?!..."Danny sassed, refusing to let her bully him here.
Colette just smirked, thinking that she had the upper hand here.
"It is in your best interest to do as I say, and let's just say that anyone who even tries to keep you away from me will be dealt with swiftly and severely..."She added, looking more deranged as she said this.
"She's insane if she thinks that I'm going to let her to do!..."He thought, as he scowled angrily at her.
"You're nuts if you think I'm gonna let that happen! Also, you could have the power to make me disappear forever, I'll still say no!..." Danny stated.
Colette just giggled.
"You are so adorable when you act foolish and fool-hardy. I always did find this part of you attractive..."She said with a giggle, that made Danny's skin crawl.
It got worse when she yanked him forward by the collar and even had the nerve to touch his face with her gloved hand, while the dark haired boy kept sending her dirty glares.
"Now, Mon amore... I do believe the time for games is over. Besides, the finest man in Amity Park deserves a place by the side of a goddess such as myself, ruling like a king and his queen... or a king and his goddess..."Colette said as she used her ectoplasm to produce a crown, one for herself of course and one for the boy she had in her clutches.
Danny began to feel a cold sweat with an icy cold glare, while the new villainess was starting to look even more delusional than she usually does.
It was clear this power had gone to her head and she genuinely saw herself as more powerful than she thought herself to be.
"Danny, stop fighting! You and I both know that you're not as dimwitted as the rest of the worthless men in this horrid town! I have been given power and will soon be worshiped as I was always destined to be...and it is you who is to become my king! You will not rule with as much power as I, but you will get many benefits, like me!..."She said in a sinister way, making her intentions and desires VERY clear.
Danny simply cringed in disbelief at the offer and nearly puked on the spot.
"How is THAT a benefit?!..."He muttered, but she kept trying to invade his space and make her "offer".
"I am making you this once in a life time offer, If I were you, I'd say yes..."She said in a condescending way, as she inched closer to him, making him almost jump out of his skin.
"What do you say?..."She said as she offered her hand, actually expecting him to accept her "generous" offer.
"NEVER!..."Danny shouted as he grabbed a nearby lamp and flung it at her.
Big mistake, as it just made Colette angrier as she blasted it with her eyes.
"That was NOT nice, Darling!..."She said in a hissing way, barely able to control herself.
"It wasn't meant to be nice!..."Danny sassed.
However, he then saw her eyes glowing red and some smoke began to leak out of her, looking like she was ready to hurt him.
"Maybe I should have thought that through better..."He thought as Colette grabbed him by the collar and yanked him forward, making him hit the wall.
"Ouch!..."He let out, only to be grabbed him by he leg and phased out of the room and was on the roof of the hotel.
She floated herself and the ghost boy in the air and caused Danny to dangle his feet in the process.
"What are you doing?!..."Danny demanded, only for Colette to drop him.
He landed on his butt, and was the spoiled brat/villain looked at him in a menacing fashion as her eyes glowed redder.
"If you're going so far as to act like some unruly child, then perhaps I should...educate you...like they did to boys that don't know how to behave themselves until they learn how painful disobedience is..."She said, hands and eyes glowing bright red.
"You sure know a thing or two about being unruly..."Danny said, as he wasn't sure what she was implying but figured that since she has powers, then it would certainly bring him a lot of harm.
Colette huffed, raising her arm as she inched closer. However, before Colette could place a hand on him, there was a figure who appeared.
"STAY AWAY FROM HIM!..."Was heard as several blasts nearly hit the red haired villainess.
Danny and Colette turned around and saw who arrived. Danny was relieved and smiled, while the wicked fake redhead was angry when she saw who it was.
"Starlight Spirit!..."She exclaimed.
"And friends..."A disguised Jazz said as she aimed her bazooka at the evil brat.
"And some independent help..."Valerie said, raising her hand up.
"Drop the hostage or we drop you! You're choice, ghost!..."Valerie said, inching to blast Colette into next year like she always secretly dreamed about.
"Oh, are you kidding me?!..."Colette muttered, while her blonde rival glared at her.
"Step away from him Colette, and I MIGHT not break your ENTIRE face and show the pieces to the city!..."Starlight demanded, glaring daggers at her nemesis.
"Ah, wonderful, round 2. I will finally make you suffer more..."Colette said, crossing her arms and making it clear that she won't listen.
"Well, I tried to make you stop and offered some diplomacy. Don't say that I didn't give you a fair warning that you'd be going home with a broken face..."The blonde heroine said before raising her hand and aiming.
Starlight shot at Colette, sending her up high with an uppercut and a charged ecto blast combo.
"AAAUURRRGGHHH!..."Colette screamed as she was sent crashing a nearby billboard and into the sky.
"That felt good!..."Starlight said, before turning to Danny.
"You okay, Boo?..."She asked.
"I'm fine, now that you're here..."He said, happy to see her.
"What about us?..."Tucker asked in a half joking matter.
"You guys too..."Danny said with a chuckle, genuinely relieved Colette didn't do anything to him in time.
He then noticed the extra person in the group and got confused, especially since they were wearing a mask like the others.
"Uh, who is that?..."Danny asked and the disguised Misty got nervous.
"Oh, uh...just one of Danny Phantom's trustworthy sidekicks..."Misty said, trying to disguise her voice but Danny was confused.
"What?..."He asked, while the real members of Team Phantom rolled their eyes and were not gonna let her get away with hiding who she is.
"It's Misty..."They all said, making the sorceress gasp while Sam immediately revealed Misty's face by briefly lifting up her mask so that only Danny could see
Misty gulped and Danny was shocked as the dark haired girl turned redder as a tomato at being exposed like this.
"Wait...Misty?!..."Danny exclaimed, looking dumbfounded and at a loss.
"Uh...Hi, Danny..."Misty said nervously, as she waved her hand at him, while using her free hand to re-mask herself.
Danny was speechless.
"H-How? W-Why? When?..."He asked, not understanding any of this.
However, his questions ended up being cut short. Colette returned and shot at them, making sure to aim at Starlight first.
"AH!..."Starlight yelped.
"Starlight!..."Danny shouted in concern as the villainess just stomped her foot.
"You ruined my new outfit, you blonde cow! I shall make you pay!..."Colette shouted in a deranged fashion, reminding the heroes that they still had to deal with her.
Starlight recovered, then turned to her boyfriend and sent him a serious look.
"Fight now, questions later!..."She said.
Danny nodded and waited for a chance to run for cover and "go ghost" and help her fight off that maniac.
Starlight cracked her knuckles, as another fight was about to start. The others were also ready to join in the battle and give Colette a piece of their mind.
"I've waited too long to get a chance to do this to that spoiled brat..."Valerie said, as she locked almost every weapon she had on her jet sled at the super powered Colette.
"Me too!..."Starlight said, taking a deep breath.
"Same here..."Sam said, pounding her fist into a hand.
"Ditto..."Jazz said, aiming her blaster.
"Maybe I can get a few shots of her in that outfit before we hurt her?..." Tucker asked sheepishly before everyone sent icy glares with disapproving scowls at him, making him pull back.
"Uh... never mind..."He said, with a nervous grin.
"Just focus on the fight..."Sam ordered, while the heroes glared at the spoiled brat.
"You're totally dunzo, Colette!..."Starlight said, as she cracked her glowing green knuckles.
She was ready to knock her teeth out, among other things.
"I'd like to see you pathetic peons try to take on a goddess such as myself!..."Colette said, thinking that none of them were a match for her.
"Oh, shut up!..."Sam said as she used her wrist ray to hit her to shut her up.
She smirked.
"Okay, that REALLY, REALLY felt good!..."The goth girl admitted, having enjoyed that.
Unfortunately, Colette recovered and responded by firing a red ecto-blast at them, that barely missed them
With that, the battle officially began and Team Phantom and their latest "recruit" tried to defeat Amity Park's newest supervillain.

4) I found that Mr. Lancer making Dash "exempt from scorn" for being a jock really aged badly, especially given how serious bullying is.
5) No, I just don't see them as a couple due to the age difference.
