The child of the Fujimoto household is weird.
Unlike other one year olds who would sometimes want attention or throw tantrums, the child named Fujimoto Hikaru didn't do those, much less cause any difficulty to the people who were assigned to take care of him when his parents were at work.
Though the couple wanted to take care of the child, in their line of business, some accidents tend to occur that needs their supervision.
So for the time being, their child was being looked at by the lackeys in their compound. Though lackeys, they were a group of rough-looking old men who had some visible scary wounds on their faces.
Himiko and Shunji planned to hire some caretakers for their child, but it seems like Hikaru had no problem with the faces of their lackeys. A normal child would've cried if he saw the gruff appearance of the men that were currently looking after him.
Gozu, the lackey who looked like a big gorilla without the fur, was the first victim of the devastatingly cuteness of the young master. He had thought that the young child would run away and scream crying like how the other children had did to him, but instead of being afraid, Hikaru had made him a stool or some kind of furniture where you could rest.
Ekoda, the youngest of the three who was currently in his mid 30's, the commonly looking kind old man that can be easily lost in a crowd due to how plain his face looked. He was the one chosen to take care of any needs of the young child, such as Hikaru's food, diapers, hygiene, etc.
Lastly, Li, and awkward old man who doesn't know how to interact with the young master of their household. Every time Hikaru gestures him for a carry, the man is afraid that he would use too much force and crush the small bum in his arms.
In short, the young master of the Fujimoto Household is weird.
For a one year old, one can call Hikaru as mature. He was quiet, and well-behaved. Rarely caused trouble and was always lounging in the library staring at books.
"Again, today, the young master is spaced out." Gozu whispered to the other two, only receiving and nod from Ekoda.
"Should we take him away there, though the pond is shallow, it's still dangerous." Ekoda was about to stand up only to be stopped by a scoff from Li.
"Leave him, if he falls, he falls." the awkward old man said, not knowing how to deal with a kid.
"But if something happens to him, not only to Master Shunji, we'll also receive the wrath of Master Masuki." Ekoda said and at that thought, the other two shivered and quickly made their way to the master.
"Young master, I think it's time to take a break from your walk." Gozu said. Though they weren't sure if the kid understood what they were saying, they still talk to him.
Standing up and snapping out from his daze, Hikaru stood up and stared at the three men.
He stared at them for a few minutes, before he decided to slowly walk from one rock to the other to get to the end of the pond. Once he reached the end, he was carried by Ekoda and they made their way to the library, Gozu following behind, and a reluctant Li a few paces back.
"Well then, young master, call for us when you finish the books you had us get. We will just be outside." Ekoda retreated out of the library, and left Hikaru on the ground with multiple books that the child choose around.
Gozu reluctantly left, worried that something might happen to the young master, but he didn't last with his staring as Li was already pulling on his ear whilst going out.
Hikaru had finally received an alone time, allowing him to think clearly about things in this quiet place. It has been a year since he had been supposedly reborn. The very idea was unbelievable, but he had watched and read stories like these from before.
To think that it would happen to him, he'll laugh if he can.
The people here also seems to think that he is mute, when in truth he just didn't want to talk much since he had yet to take in his current situation. But now that he had read a few books, heard the language, and experienced the life here, he can conclude that he was currently in Japan.
Thankfully, he knew how to understand, read, write, and talk in Japanese. It was one less off his list of possible problems.
One more thing is the fact that he seems to be a young master, of what? Well, he had just found out that he was born in a Yakuza family. He almost panicked at the thought that he might be jailed in the future due to his relation to this, but with a few reading, he found out that his family was one of the good kinds of yakuza that helped the common populace.
He wants to explore and find out more things about his new life, but the body of a one year old can be restricting.
He walks slow, he's too short to reach anything, and he just recently learned how to stand up and balance himself. He can't even take care of his own body. He manages to be able to eat on his own, but when the time comes where it's time to change diapers, that was when the annoyance happens.
Diapers were disgusting, especially if you were conscious of it. Being a grown up in the body of a child, there are many things better not experienced. He did have some problems whenever he was at the time of the month in his past, but the feeling of diapers is even worse that those.
If he could, he would want to grow up quickly, but alas, real time was slow. There wasn't anything he could do to pass time other than to read books or take a nap when he was tired.
"Haa...I hate jdis..." he slowly spoke out as he flipped a page of a book.
But his peace was interrupted when the sound of wooden tray hit the floorboards were heard. He looked at the source and saw that it was Ekoda, who was bringing him food, well tried, since the food was now splattered on the floor.
Not only was Ekoda the one shocked, so was Li and Gozu who was just behind the man.
They were told of the saddening news that of which the young master was mute since he didn't cry when he was newly born. But, just now, they definitely heard the young master talk in a small voice.
"Y-Young master... you can speak!!!?" Gozu was the first one to react and quickly picked up Hikaru, raising him high in the air.
"I thought the kid was mute." Li sent a sideway glance to Ekoda who remained stunned the the scene he just witnessed first hand.
"Yes... I thought so too."
Hikaru looked down and saw the three men with complicated expressions. Gozu, having a merry one like always. Ekoda, who was shocked to the core. And Li, who was sighing exasperatedly.
Just from the conversation he just heard, Hikaru quickly got what was the big deal.
So all this time, these people thought he cannot speak.
"How shtupid." he said
A/N:
I would like Gozu to be imagined like an older version of Kondo from Gintama
Ekoda would be an older Isami Aldini from Food Wars
and Li to look like Assassin Li Shuwen from FGO
