As soon as the report that Hikaru could talk, Himiko and Shunji quickly finished their business and went back home in a flash. There, they met Gozu, Ekoda, and Li, who greeted them with a bow as they confirmed that the contents of the report that they sent was true.
"Hikaru! You can talk, your're not mute!" Himiko picked up the one year old that was quietly sitting down on one corner. She was overjoyed to know that her son could speak properly, not that she didn't love her child, she would care and love for Hikaru no matter how he is.
"Come on, Hikaru, say papa. Papa." Shunji stuck close to Himiko as he pointed to himself, wanting his son to call out.
Hikaru was a bit surprised when he was suddenly picked up, but soon calmed down as he stared at the face of his parents who were filled with anticipation.
"Mama and Papa." He decided to finish this dilemma and spoke in a soft voice. As he called out to his parents, the couple's eyes both lit up at the same time, and Hikaru was suddenly hugged from both sides, though the two was gentle to not crush the small child between them.
"He really can! He spoke! Our Hikaru!" Himiko said happily, as she lightly teared up at the 'mama' that her son said.
"Papa! He called me Papa!"
Gozu, Ekoda, and Li watched as the warm scene unfold in front of their eyes. They were glad that one of the couple's troubles had disappeared, especially since it was concerning their son.
Unlike the sense of relief that the others in the room felt, Hikaru was feeling a bit bored, his mind somewhere else thinking of the books that he had left because he was suddenly carried by Ekoda to meet his parent.
He looked at the face of his parents once again and sighed inwardly.
Well, I guess I'll just let this be.he thought, surrendering himself in the hugs and carries that he received that day.
The young master of the Fujimoto household is weird.
Now, two years old, there had been changes and things that stayed the same.
When the boy turned two, he had refused on wearing diapers from then on. Ekoda had wanted to retort, but seeing that scary look that Hikaru had that day, he had no choice but to comply. To think that a two year old can make a face like that, Ekoda could still image it clearly in his head.
Hikaru had also started to walk better and maintain his balance when walking, though he still is often seen with Gozu carrying him around.
The young master would spend time with the awkward old man, Li, during afternoon as the child read books and Li would watch over him.
It also seems like the young master seldom spoke. Hikaru only talked to them whenever he needed something, like when he wants to be carried, when there was a book he can't reach or when opening rooms with doorknobs, or when he was hungry. Other than that the boy doesn't speak unless necessary.
"I want to go out." Hikaru suddenly said as he looked up at his father. He would prefer to make the request to his mother, but it seems like she was out of the house due to some business, probably concerning the yakuza thing they had in this family.
Shunji was finishing up the documents he had in his work table, when the boy suddenly went in his study with that kind of request. He looked at his son, sporting that stoic face as always. Does he even have a choice? This was his adorable son, his child who seldom asked for things was requesting him something.
But...
"I'm sorry, Hikaru... but it is too dangerous outside." Shunji was worried at all the possible things that would happen once he lets his son go outside the compound.
"Li is there." the boy said not backing away.
Shunji was confused. There was no connection to what he said to what Hikaru said. Li's name just popped in the conversation. The man sighed as he took as sip of the tea on one side of his table. That was when he heard a word that he didn't expect for the boy to know.
"He's an assassin. He can protect me." That might be the longest thing that the boy had said to him, but that was not the point.
Shunji had already spurted out his tea in shock and was now coughing.
"That... Hikaru, what did you... say?" the man said in between coughs. Looking incredulously at his son. The boy still had that stoic face.
"Li is an Assassin." and Shunji had made an indescribable sound of surprise. Like he was hacking up for some phlegm. The man didn't hear wrong. His son really did say that, but now that he had managed to calm down, he had thought of how his son found out that Li was an assassin. Unless those three let it slip up from their mouth. It seems like he needed to lecture those three on what to say around their son, especially since Hikaru could already understand many things despite his age.
Hikaru, on the other hand, had seen that his father had calmed down from the shock that he had given him, and was now having a dark look on his face. He can roughly guess on what Shunji was thinking.
"They didn't say anything." It seems like he will be forced to talk a lot today.
"Hm?" His father looked up from his dark contemplation.
"I found it out by myself. I also know that we're a family of Yakuza." Shunji knew that Hikaru was smart for his age. But to think that he was at that point where he knew the things that they were doing. He wants to collapse, he wants to cry out that his cute adorable was so smart, but at the same time he was worried on what Hikaru thinks about them.
"Don't worry, I know Grandfather, mom, and you. Even Gozu, Ekoda, Li— are good people." Shunji was shocked at what his son said. Hikaru knew, he didn't know how but he was glad that his son doesn't think that they were bad people.
But more than that, Shunji was shocked to see his son smile. Though it was small, and almost unnoticeable, that was definitely a smile from his usually expressionless son.
"Hikaru!" the boy flinched at the sudden shout of his name, as he was approached by his father. He was held by his shoulder, his father's face a bit too close to his own.
"Do it again! That smile!" Shunji said excitedly as he waited.
Hikaru blinked a few times confused on what his father was talking about. If you talk about smile, he's not the best one to ask for such a thing.
Instead of seeing the same soft smile that Hikaru had, though the face remain stoic, the boy definitely gave off some kind of scary aura.
Shunji sighed, patting his son's head. "Well, I guess I need to have a camera ready at all times..." He murmured as he put a bit of a distance between him and his son.
Hikaru definitely heard that, and placed his hands on his cheeks. It seems like he needs to be careful about that.
"What about it then, can I go outside?" It seems like his son didn't why he was here in the first place. Sighing, Shunji knew he had no choice.
"Tell Li to come here." Hikaru knew that his father had given his approval, nodded, then wasted no time as he made his way to where Li was.
Shunji sighed, he had been sighing too much today. His head hurt as he recalled at the things that happened in just a few minutes.
"Looks like I have to tell this to Himiko and the others..."
