''You're pretty distracted tonight Santanita.'' Santana's grandmother mentions as they all sit around the table listening to the conversations going on around them, Santana turns to her and smiles slightly.
''Nah I am right here Abuelita.'' She blushes as she just raises a knowing eyebrow and sighs. ''Be quiet por favor.''
Julia laughs and pats her shoulder. ''Thirty minutes till the ball drops querida, think you can make it to the club?''
Santana shakes her head and sighs. ''No.'' She breaths out. ''And this is the first year Nic stays up, I am right where I want to be.''
''Something or rather someone is missing though.'' Ricardo her uncle tells her as he joins the conversation, he smirks as Santana turns to him in surprise and laughs. ''You tried to hide it but you are quite bad in it Santanita.'' He tells her softly.
''Seriously?'' Santana breaths out frowning. ''Everyone knew already?''
''Sure did.'' Lorenzo her other uncle breaths out laughing. ''We just decided to see how long you will take.''
''Told you it's quite obvious for everyone that knows you.'' Maria teases laughing as she hugs her from behind. ''When will she be here?''
''Early in the morning.'' Santana just breaths out as she notices her parents, sisters and friends look at her in amusement. ''She has a gig but will try to leave around three.''
''I can drive you down after the ball drop and Nic went to bed.'' Ricardo offers. ''I didn't drink tonight so we can take one of the cars Santanita.''
Santana just shakes her head and smiles. ''No need Tio, but thank you.'' She turns her head as she feels a hand on her arm and scoots her chair back as her eyes lock on her sons tired blue orbs.
''When is the ball drop and firework mami?'' Nicolas asks tiredly as he nuzzles face against her shoulder the second she pulled him in his lap.
''In ten minutes.'' She murmurs against his head. ''Want to send Britty a message before the lines are too busy?'' She takes out her phone as he nods his head with a big grin and holds it in front of them for the both of them to see.
''What do you want to say?''
''Happy New Year, I am sad you can't be here but we will celebrate it together tomorrow?'' Nicolas asks shrugging, Santana nods her head typing the message out and sends it after adding Nic's name.
She hovers her thumb over the letters on her screen contemplating what she can write and glances around, she smirks as an idea pops into her head and looks back down at her phone not noticing Liv jogging up to Abi after she received a message from Brittany.
To Britt-Britt: We just wanted to wish you a happy new year before the lines go down, I am pretty sure you won't read this knowing you get sucked into working your magic but I hope you had a nice night Britt-Britt.
To Britt-Britt: By the way, It's time to pay up because you have been living in my mind rent-free *wink*
She places her phone down after glancing at the time and kisses Nicolas's head. ''Five more minutes mijo.'' She breaths out as her parents walk out carrying two bottles of champagne and glasses with apple juice for the kids, she stands up moving him onto her hip as he just hums and follows their family to the middle of the garden after her uncle Ricardo turned the volume of the radio up.
''Here mija.'' Santana takes one of the flutes her mami holds out for her and raises an eyebrow in surprise as she notices that it's plastic. ''I don't want my good glasses breaking.'' Maribel explains quickly hoping Santana will buy it. ''We all know how clumsy our family is.''
Santana just nods her head and chuckles. ''True.'' She looks down at Nicolas and winks as she notices him already sipping on his apple juice. ''Leave a bit for the ball drop, mi corazón.''
She looks up with a frown as the doorbell rings and turns to her family, she places Nicolas down as he wriggles in her arms and places him down keeping her hand on his shoulder to silently tell him not to follow his Abuelo. ''Are we expecting someone?''
Maribel shakes her head and smiles. ''No maybe the neighbors came over to warn us that it might be loud.'' She breaths out shrugging. ''So what is everyone's new years resolution?'' She asks grinning. ''Mine and Papi's is throwing more garden parties and enjoy our familia.''
''Stay healthy.'' Ricardo, Julia and Lorenzo breath out grinning.
''Keep on enjoying life like we did this year, spend with more amazing things with our family.'' Quinn and Puck reply grinning.
''Yeah I agree with them.'' Maria agrees as Michael just raises his glass with a grin.
''Play more with Nic, Beth and Amy.'' Sophia replies giggling as they immediately squeak out their agreement.
Liv and Abi both smile as Maribel turns to them with an eyebrow raised and shrug. ''Continue living our life in happiness and take things as they come.'' Liv replies for the both of them, pecking Abi's lips.
Santana licks her lips as they all turn to her noticing her Abuela also look at her with an eyebrow raised after scoffing softly the second they kissed and smiles slightly as Britt's name immediately pops up in her head. ''Yeah I agree with Liv, continue living my life in happiness will definitely happen next year.''
''Look who made it!'' Emilio exclaims walking out of the house as soon as the countdown starts.
''Britty!'' Nicolas squeals pulling away from his mami not hearing her soft surprised gasp, Abi slides up to her sister with her family and kisses her cheek.
''Your resolution could start now Hermana.'' She whispers softly, Santana just gulps as she watches Brittany crouch down to hug the kids as they all rush over and bites her lip as she walks over her eyes running down her fit body taking in the beautiful blue skin tight dress she wears.
''Hey you.'' Brittany whispers with a grin as she picks Nicolas up, Santana tilts her head as the countdown reaches twenty and licks her lips.
''Hey.'' She whispers softly. ''Don't you have to work?''
''I begged Jay to take over with some finished mixes.'' Brittany murmurs with a shrug. ''It didn't feel right to be in LA while my family and friends celebrate the ball drop here.'' She takes a step closer as the countdown reaches five and adjust her hold on Nicolas. ''It didn't feel right to be there, while you and Nic are here.'' She adds softly.
Santana just steps closer as her papi plucks Nicolas out of Brittany's hold the second they count down loudly and slowly wraps her arms around her shoulders. ''And Jay's brother was okay with that?'' She asks softly feeling her whole body buzz as sparkling blue orbs lock on her own.
''I don't care.'' Brittany murmurs as her arms wrap around her waist with a grin. ''I am right where I want to be right now.'' She glances at the group as they yell Happy New Year noticing Santana's Abuela observing them and turns back to look at Santana trying to put a bit of distance between them. ''Happy ne..''
She gasps softly as soft plump lips capture her own, her wide eyes closing on their own accord as Santana's hands cup the back of her neck and tightens her own hold around Santana's waist as colorful bursts of firework light up behind her closed eyes.
''Fucking finally.''
Santana smiles into the kiss her whole body humming as she hears her sisters and friends cheer and slides her left hand from Brittany's neck to cup her jaw, she slowly pulls back knowing kids are around and leans her forehead against Brittany's as she notices that she leaned down so she doesn't have to stand on her tiptoes. ''Happy New Year, Britt-Britt.'' She whispers softly.
Brittany just smiles gazing into sparkling brown orbs, noticing the color of the fireworks exploding above them mirroring in her eyes and pecks her lips. ''Happy New Year, Santana.'' She looks down as a body collides with her legs and chuckles as Nicolas looks up at them with a big happy grin, she leans down to scoop him up smiling as Santana wishes him a happy new year and kisses his temple. ''Happy New Year buddy.''
''Happy New Year indeed.'' The group exclaim grinning as they tackle them in a hug, Maribel smiles as Santana slips out of the group hug to hug them and kisses her temple as soon as she walked into her arms.
''Where is she?'' Santana asks in surprise as she notices everyone but her Abuela around.
''Went home, she will probably come back tomorrow morning.'' Emilio replies kissing his daughters head. ''Don't waste any thoughts on her tonight, enjoy what you are feeling now mija.''
Santana just hums chuckling as her uncles, aunt and grandmother tackle her in a hug and sighs softly. ''I will papi.'' She promises as she glances at Brittany joking around with the group while still holding Nicolas in her arms. ''She makes me happy.''
''And we can all see that.'' Esmeralda breaths out kissing her cheek. ''Embrace it, Santanita.''
Santana nods her head and smiles. ''I definitely will Tia, I will be back in a minute, Nic needs to sleep.''
''I will tuck him in.'' Brittany breaths out as she joins them, she just smiles as Santana raises an eyebrow and adjusts her hold on Nicolas napping in her arms. ''Puck, Liv, Michael and I will bring the kids upstairs, enjoy the time with your family San.''
Maribel snickers as Brittany follows the boys and Liv into the house after everyone kissed the kids good night and turns to her daughter. ''Never try to say no to that woman mija, you will lose.''
''They remind me of Abi and Liv.'' Maria breaths out laughing. ''Abi can't say no either.''
''Things like that happen the second you have someone you love in your life.'' Abi breaths out shrugging, she snickers as Santana turns to her with wide eyes and kisses her temple. ''Five dates in Santanita, she may not be your girlfriend officially yet but the way the both of you behave she long is and the love is clear for all of us to see.''
Santana just hums grinning as Quinn hugs her from behind and turns her head to kiss her cheek, Julia looks at her and tilts her head.
''I don't want to push you Santanita, but when will you make it official?''
Santana bites her lip and shrugs. ''No idea Abuelita, soon though I don't think I want to continue introduce her as my friend.''
She smiles as they nod their heads and turns around as she hears Puck's loud laughter, she smiles she watches them walk out joking around and winks as Brittany's eyes lock on her own.
''Girls you up for a trip to the Ferris Wheel?'' Michael asks grinning.
''They offer rides up to view the fireworks.'' Puck tells them smiling brightly.
Santana shrugs as Quinn and Abi turn to her and turns to her parents. ''Mami, papi?''
''Go.'' Maribel tells them chuckling.
''Did you book tickets?'' Emilio asks them with an eyebrow raised, Brittany nods her head and smiles.
''Yeah we just did.''
''I dropped your and Q's name San.'' Liv adds with a sheepish grin, Quinn laughs and shrugs her shoulders.
''If the view is as amazing as I think it will be that's alright, let's go!''
''Have fun!'' The adults call out as the girls walk over, Brittany thanks them holding Santana's jacket out for her and turns to the boys.
''Thank god it's a short walk, I don't think any of us is sober enough to drive.''
Liv laughs hearing her soft slur as they walk into the house and raises an eyebrow. ''How much did you drink?''
Brittany rubs the back of her neck and snickers. ''Five of my drinks and Jay came up with three shots so a lot.''
Santana chuckles as they walk out of the house after they all grabbed their jackets and intertwines her hand with Brittany's, she looks up at her as she feels her squeeze her hand and smiles as just tugs her closer after squeezing her hand.
''Do we all share the same cart?'' Maria asks curiously as they walk down the street towards the beach.
''No our group is too big, so we just put all couples together.'' Puck replies with a smile. ''So Q and I, Liv with Ab's, San with B and the both of you together.''
Santana just smiles as Puck calls them a couple just locking eyes with her sister as she turns to look at her and winks silently telling her that the feeling she got isn't bad, she follows Puck and Quinn as they walk in front of them as soon as they reach the Ferris Wheel and looks at the line of people waiting. ''Well this will be a long wait.'' Santana murmurs.
''I don't think we will have to wait at all.'' Brittany whispers chuckling as she nods her head to Puck walking past the line, she let's go of Santana's hand and wraps her arm around her shoulders smiling as she immediately slides closer so the drunk onlookers won't recognize her.
Fifteen minutes later.
Santana sits down beside Brittany as soon as an empty cart arrives for them after the group already stepped in her own and smiles cuddling into her side as she feels her arm wrap around her shoulders, she intertwines their hands on her lap nuzzling her face against her shoulder and sighs softly as she feels the cart moves.
''You okay?''
She looks up hearing her soft question and nods her head with a grin. ''More than okay.'' She murmurs softly. ''How was your gig?''
''Pretty good, some drunk idiots but the security got rid of them.''
''Any pickup lines?'' Santana asks in amusement, Brittany shakes her head and laughs softly.
''No but I asked Jess to only hand me drinks from any of them and not from customers.'' She chuckles as Santana just raises an eyebrow and shrugs. ''There were more elderly around today and I didn't want to read any of it.''
''No cleaned seat offers?'' Santana asks in amusement, she laughs as Brittany frowns in disgust and shrugs. ''Gotta live with it Britt-Britt, even through the mask they can all see that you are gorgeous.''
She chuckles softly as she notices the blush creeping up her cheek and tilts her head up to kiss her warm cheek. ''And hella cute whenever you blush.'' She murmurs against the heated skin.
She hums softly as Brittany just turns her head, thin pink lips capturing her own and slowly slides her hand up her toned arm to cup the back of her neck. She gently runs her thumb over the hinge of her jaw, smiling into the kiss as she feels the soft shudder going through Britt's body and tilts her head to deepen the kiss.
She feels Brittany's deep intake of breath through her nose as her tongue slips through slightly parted lips to trace over the blonde's bottom lip and slides her hand up into soft blonde locks as she feels her lips part slightly to grant her access.
She exhales shakily as the taste of the fruity drinks and shots Brittany consumed still lingers on her tongue and slowly pulls back as she feels the flutters in her stomach only intensifying with each soft stroke. She bites her lip leaning their foreheads together and smiles slightly as she watches her eyes slowly flutter open revealing bright blue orbs, she pecks her lips as she notices the cute grin on her face and slowly pulls back as she feels the cart stop once again knowing each group paid a bit extra to enjoy the top.
''We aren't even at the top yet but it's already beautiful from here.'' Brittany murmurs softly as she wraps her arms around Santana's waist, Santana hums softly leaning into her and smiles.
''It is.'' She agrees softly as they both watch the fireworks, she chuckles as she hears Puck cheer and shakes her head. ''And Puck turns in a little child.''
Brittany tilts her head back to look at the cart above them and laughs. ''Q will kill him.'' She breaths out in amusement as she sees the cart move wildly. ''Looks like he enjoys to use it as a swing set.''
''Oh he can run for his life as soon as they reach the bottom.'' Santana laughs out as she also looks up. ''Q hates that.''
Brittany laughs and tilts her head back. ''Noah!'' She calls out.
''B?!''
''Stop swinging that damn thing, start the New Years off right and be nice to your future wife!''
''That rhymed.'' Santana breaths out snickering.
''Did you pay your rent already?!''
''Rent?'' Santana asks in amusement, Brittany turns to her and chuckles.
''It's time to pay rent because I am living in your mind rent-free?'' She laughs as Santana's eyebrows raise in surprise and shakes her head. ''I received the message after tucking Nic in, Puck snatched my phone out of my hand before I could stop him.''
''Another pick up line, really?'' She adds.
Santana laughs and shrugs. ''I wasn't there to send Jess up, so I thought a text would do too.'' She smiles shyly and shrugs. ''I have another one waiting to be used.''
''Oh yeah? Which one?''
Santana licks her lips quickly scanning through the pick up lines she memorized not about to use the cheesy one she wants to use whenever she is ready and turns to look at her with a grin. ''Are you a doctor?''
She smiles cheekily as Brittany just raises an eyebrow and shrugs. ''Because my heart beats faster when I see you.'' She adds wiggling her eyebrows.
''You're lucky that you are cute, you know that?'' Brittany asks chuckling, she shakes her head as Santana just smirks and dips her head to kiss her softly as the cart moves to the top not noticing Quinn taking the moment as soon as their carts are leveled to snap a picture of them at the exact same moment a colorful burst of fireworks light up the night sky.
