This was it. They were going to die. The pain radiating from their coven mark was so blindly overwhelming they couldn't move could barely think for that matter but they could also feel every ounce of their energy their very life being stiffened away because of it.
Day of unity indeed.
All the covens or at least their leaders united to die by Belos's cruelty in taking their combined magic.
If only they'd listened to Eda they would have had a plan instead of walking blindly into such an obvious trap.
Eda.
Raine hated the last moments with their wild witch were one of them causing the witch they loved such deep pain. They close their eyes tighter not wanting to see the memory of that pain behind their eyes as they attempt to brace themselves against the draining pain, they and the other coven heads were suffering as they clasp fully to their knees.
"Edalyn I'm sorry," Raine whispers their words drowned but the grunts and pained groans of the other coven leaders around them.
"Don't you quit on me now Rainestorm."
Raines eyes open as far as they can at the snarky comment whispered against their ear seconds before a pair of strong clawed-handed arms wrap unyielding around their middle before they were being carried up and away from the power-draining circle Belos had trapped them in.
The motion stole what little breath Raine had left in them as the wind rushed past them in a heavy beat of wings.
"I've got Raine, where's Luz, Boots, and King?"
Another winged creature this time one of black and silver points a taloned hand down towards the fuzzy-shaped thing coming closer to the point they hovered.
"Gwyn, Hunter, Willow, Gus, and Hooty stayed to give us cover but Belos wasn't happy so we need to move." The one that looked like a blurry pink and purple-haired cloud says as she struggles to keep both the abomination covered figure of what looked to be an older version of Eda's pet stable beside them as well as keeping the dark-haired human using Eda's staff beside her from diving back down into the fight below them.
"They can handle this, sweet potato we need to get King and his dad out of here while we still can." Amenity reminds once more quietly thanking Eda for her trick of 'if he's dangly he's sleeping' for handling King.
The smaller king ofdemons'ss now snoozing quite grumpily from the abomination created 'back pack' human's used for carryingtheire young strapped against her front.
"I'll go help mother and the others, you just get Rain and King's father out of Balos's reach, Edalyn." The silvery black thing that sounded oddly like Lilith says as the arms supporting the drowsy head of the Bard coven shift into a more bridal style hold rather than the sack of screaming boiling isles potatoes hold they'd been using previously.
"Eda?" Raine croaked making the harpy woman's eyes drop to meet their half-closed ones.
"Easy Rainy. I've got you." Her wild one soothes nuzzling her feathered forehead to Raine's. "you're safe now." She promises
"I love you, Edalyn." Raine mumbles the words demanding to be said aloud before the energy stealing darkness of unconsciousness takes over making them pass out in the harpy woman's supporting arms but not before they hear the answering "I love you too, my whisper song." Or the soft press of lips against their sweat-coated forehead.
