Ok, here we go, just listened to RWBY Volume 8 OST and it was so worth the wait, and now to patiently wait for Volume 9 to come out, God what to expect what could happen to our heroes. XD

I do not own RWBY only my OC's and the change of selected scenes that are not in the real episodes / chapters.

Enjoy!

The Daughter of Bad Luck

Volume 1 Chapter 2 - Back at Beacon

'Experience is the hardest kind, it gives you the test first and the lesson afterward,' - Oscar Wilde.

Hawke made it to Vale late at night on the day when the students arrived on their first day at Beacon; she spends the night at her Apartment in downtown Vale.

The apartment is the home of the Branwen family lived, since her father and mother graduated from Beacon years ago, it's a decent size, a simple small open kitchen next to a small living room, with two settees, a coffee table and a tv. The walls are bare, only showing two photos, one of the Branwen family and the second of the Xiao Long family, even thou Patch was her really home, nowadays the apartment is used as a rest zone for herself or Qrow, never really staying too long in Vale before going on a mission.

After checking the time, Hawke goes over her belongings making sure she has what she needs and putting whatever she had forgotten in her rucksack, with her weapons strapped on, her scroll in her pocket, she exits the apartment and heads for the rooftop, she shapeshifts into her hawk form, and flies off for Beacon.

Halfway there, she flies over Emerald Forest, the forest from above is very beautiful, she looks around thinking back to her first time, fighting Grimm and form her team.

Wham! Screech!

Something big hit her, knocking her of balance, she hits roughly into a tree trunk, landing on her back on one of the branches, changing back to her normal self.

"Birdie no!" Hawke slightly heard a voice of someone she knows.

"Dammit Ruby," Hawke groans, while sitting up and rubbing the bump on her head. "Wait! Ruby?! What the hell is she doing here?!"

She gets up and sees several more students a flying into the forest.

"Oz you have some explaining to do," she says to herself.

After a few minutes making sure all the students have been launched, she transforms again and heads for the cliffs. She spots two figures, she dives down, passes by Ozpin and Goodwitch and shifted form and lands with her back on them.

"Ah, Miss Branwen," Ozpin calmly greeted, turning around. "You arrived on time."

"Ozpin you better fill me in on why Ruby is here two years early," Hawke replied, facing Ozpin with a cross look.

"I'll get to that," he replied. "But for now why not head to my office, you can watch the new students from there, Glynda and I will be with you shortly."

"Fine," she says not too pleased by his answer as she walks away from them.

It did not take long for her to get to the School grounds, looking at the place is giving her a walk down memory lane, back to her first day, walking down the corridors, remembering the time she and her team would oversleep and how they would run for their lives just to make it to class. She gets to the lifts and heads up to Ozpin's office.

The lift door finally opens.

"Thank the Brothers there are no stairs to this room," Hawke mumbled to herself, walking out of the lift.

She sits at Ozpin's desk once she removed her longsword from her back, resting her feet on the desktop watching on the monitor, on the screen, Ruby and Yang with six others, she recognise, one with white hair, clearly of a Schnee heritage.

"Snow Queen's little sister in Vale," Hawke says out loud. "Didn't see that coming, but good for her."

A black haired girl with a bow.

"The Belladonna's kid?! Huh? Wonder how she got here?"

And a red haired girl with gold armour and weapons.

"And the Pumpkin Pete girl, ugh, the cereal goes right through me," she places her fingerless glove hand on her stomach, feeling a phantom pain in her guts.

"Feet off the desk Miss Branwen!"

Hawke jumped up from the chair, seeing the Head Master and his right hand woman in the room.

"Geez, you two need to where a bell or something," Hawke says, putting her Longsword back on. "Oz please explain why my Little Rose is in beacon early?"

"It is quite a story, care for a cup of coffee while we inform you."

"Turn that coffee into tea and please enlighten me."

One story later.

"What!" Hawke exclaimed. "Ruby got in a fight with Torchwick, and you allowed her to enter Beacon after that? For Brothers Sake."

"She has been trained well by your father," Ozpin replied calmly. "You should be proud."

"Oh I am proud," Hawke says, holding the bridge of her nose. "Its getting harder to remember she is no longer the little girl I helped raise all those years ago, her and Yang."

"Which is why you are called here Miss Branwen, your skills is what the next generation of students need."

"I don't know Oz, some of them look like they got things covered," Hawke says, her eye catches the monitor, Ruby has just beheaded a nevermore. "But then again, there is always something to improve."

"Indeed," Ozpin replied after sipping his drink.

"On a different topic," Hawke spoke, placing her mug on the desk. "How is, she?"

"She is still stable," Ozpin replied. "Thanks to Atlas technology."

"And no sign of the one who attacked her?"

"Afraid not," Goodwitch spoke. "Qrow is still looking."

"Dammit," Hawke cursed under her breath.

The silence lingered, till the device Goodwitch is holding goes off.

"The last students have made it back to beacon," she says.

"Excellent, after the ceremony Glynda will show you your room and the classroom you will be teaching and what you'll teach the students."

Hawke sneaked into the hall in the shadows, not wanting anyone to see her just yet, she watches as the new students form their teams and getting there teams named. When Ruby and Yang with the Schnee and Belladonna girls got on staged, she smiles with pride, her little cousins have made it and cannot wait to see the look on their faces when they see her here.

"Miss Branwen," Goodwitch says approaching her. "If you'll follow me I'll show you to your Classroom."

It took them quite some time from the hall, along the way, the two women they came across, several Professors, they were glad to see her, but thanks to Goodwitch they were able to keep on track, they made it to the classroom.

"Of course it would have to be the one further from the Canteen and even further from the closest girl's restroom," Hawke complained.

"This is the only spare room we have left," Goodwitch replied. "The other rooms have been taken already."

They enter the lecture theatre, Hawke slowly walked in as Goodwitch began to explain the rules as a Professor, like the 'do's and don'ts' and all that.

"Here is your pad where the files of the first year students you will be teaching and your timetable," Goodwitch says as she walks to the desk with a device similar to hers.

She looks back at Hawke, still on the steps, looking at a set of seats lost in thought.

"You okay Miss Branwen?" Glynda asked.

"Uh," Hawke snaps out of her thoughts, looks at Goodwitch. "Yeah, just taking it all in."

She walks down the steps to the desk.

"So that my scroll pad?" she questioned.

"Indeed," Goodwitch replied. "You will be teaching every new first years each year, however the older students will sign up if they wish to join the lessons, same can be said for the first years after they move on to second year."

"I see," Hawke replied, taking the pad of the desk. "And if there is any requests to help the students I go to you or Ozpin right?"

"You are correct, now that you know let me show you your living space."

They exit and made it to her room, as Hawke enters she places her rucksack on the single bed. Hawke removes her weapons.

"Your key to get in will be on your scroll," Goodwitch says. "And before you start your first lesson tomorrow come and see me in my office."

"Will do," Hawke replied as she walks around, stopping near the window looking out.

"And Hawke?"

Hawke turns around, knowing whenever Goodwitch uses her first name means she wants Hawke to get her attention.

"Your Mother would be proud of you," she says with a smile. "And Summer too."

"Thank You," Hawke replied.

Goodwitch leaves shutting the door behind her, Hawke turns back to her bed and opens her bag, takes out a framed photo of a woman, if it was not for the scar on her face and her red eyes, she would look like her. She places the photo on the small desk near the window, Hawke then sits on the chair.

"Well, welcome back to Beacon Mam," Hawke says. "This is going to be a hell of a year.

There you go, the second chapter, and here is a little info about Hawke, she is 23 years old, she was born not long after Qrow and Hawk's mother got married after they graduated.

Her Longsword is called 'Nevermore' and her short sword is called 'Silver Claw'.

And if anyone wants to get the idea of Hawke's voice, I keep hearing Janet Varney in my head every time I write lines for her, and to anyone who might not know who Janet is, she voiced Korra in 'The Legend of Korra'.
