A/N: Okay, said I was going to take a break, then took a break fromm studying to do all this. So yeah. To answer some of your queries,

Someone said that Suzuki should be able to use swords since he doesn't have levels in classes other than mages- as far as I know, in RPGs, the class of weapon is an inclusive, not exclusive ability. In other words, if you want to use swords, you have to have levels in a class that can use swords. Same with lances, or staffs, and not that someone even at level 99 could just use any weapon (I would see that as being extremely OP) without class requirements.

Don't worry- Albedo's horniness will come soon. And for whoever said that they need to "do it" soon, come on, hold your horses, this isn't that kind of fanfic (yet). As for me making the Bicorn useful, that's mainly because of one thing:

Unfortunately, I can't find any info on what spells Albedo can use. She does have a mana bar leading me to believe that she does have some spells (with MP being used to cast spells, else that stat is useless) but I don't have any examples of them. It is mentioned she does not know the [Gate] spell and had to use Shalltear's help, but that makes me wonder, does she know [Greater Teleportation] which a lot of high level entities know? I wouldn't have her fly around Suzuki then or use a magic crystal to teleport. I would even have her summon something else besides a bicorn, but the thing is that I don't know what she can summon, and I like to stick to cannon most of the time rather than make stuff up, but there's very little for me to work with here.

It took longer to loot the bodies of the Sunlight Scripture than it took to defeat them.

Poor fools had barely seen it coming.

Nguyen had been quite confident in his ability to carry out the mission and had his men spread out to encircle the area around the village. His men were entrenched behind a wall of summoned angels which shielded them. The angels by themselves were not very strong, especially when compared to the Warrior Captain, but they had special abilities such as flight and damage reduction. In addition, they could be summoned again and again until their prey was eventually killed by a thousand cuts, just like a school of piranhas could devour a giant animal.

However, they were nothing more than tiny butterflies before a raging storm.

"Sir, there is something approaching us. And it's very fast," a priest called out to Nguyen.

"How many?"

"Just one sir."

"And who is the rider? Can you confirm that it is the Warrior Captain?" Nguyen asked.

"Sir... there doesn't appear to be a rider," came the astonished response.

Nguyen frowned. No animal, even a well-trained war horse, would run into large group of men and angels without a rider. "Stop it at once!"

"[Charm Animal]!" came a shout in response to this order. Then, a panicked cry, "Sir! It didn't work!"

Nguyen could see it now. This was no simple war horse, and it would be on them within seconds. "Gather the angels to block it!"

The angels, which were up till that point dispersed in a large circle clustered together to block the path of the rampaging beast.

However, whatever it was tore through the barricade of angels like a raging bull through a paper screen. Before Nguyen could process this he had already been impaled by one of the beast's horns.

He was able to make out now that it was no horse, but rather a bicorn. Unlike one he had ever seen before.

The War Bicorn Lord shared some intelligence with Albedo and knew that the best strategy was to go after the leader, which appeared to be this man. It shook its head and the man slipped off of its horn. The man then tried reaching inside his coat desperately as if there was something there which could've saved his life, but the Bicorn Lord simply split the man's skull in half with a single blow from its hoof.

But, this was no moment to celebrate. There were others to be taken care of. The War Bicorn Lord then turned, trampling men with childish ease.

Initially, the men tried to challenge it, but the weak attacks of the angels bounced off its skin without leaving so much as a scratch. Then, realizing that fighting was futile, the men began to turn and flee.

Overwhelming happiness blossomed in the Bicorn Lord's heart- it yearned for a good hunt like this. Killing enemies was greatly satisfying in of itself, but it experienced the greatest joy when it chased after fleeing foes who had completely lost all hope of victory. The men had no chance of escaping the beast even if they had had mounts, and so their corpses quickly littered the ground until none remained standing.

Albedo informed Suzuki of this as soon as it happened, and Suzuki gestured to Gazef and his men that they could no uphold their end of the bargain.

Gazef's Warrior Band looked none too pleased that their work had been reduced to being that of corpse robbers, however, none of them dared to complain outright.

As it was, when Gazef saw how total and absolute the destruction of the Sunlight Scripture had been, his blood ran cold.

Even if he could accomplish such a feat had he the Four Treasures with him, he would not have come out of it unscathed. The beast however, was grazing nearby as if nothing had happened.

As far as Gazef knew, only magic casters could summon monsters, and as such, he assumed that the beast had been summoned by Suzuki and not Albedo. That made him think that perhaps his suspicions that Suzuki was stronger than even Albedo might have really have some merit to them.

The reason Suzuki had sent Gazef and his crew to collect the valuables from their enemies was because he was concerned now that perhaps their bodies might be rigged with traps, something he had ignored but on hindsight should have been wary of while looting the dead soldiers earlier. Rigging yourself so that anyone trying to loot what you dropped was something he might do had he been someone in this world.

Also, Suzuki might've ended up not taking something from them that could have been very valuable in this world, incorrectly assuming that it was worthless.

There was a large pile of money- around eighty or so gold pieces, though again, they were all smaller than the ones Suzuki was familiar with. Even when he took out a Yggdrasil coin, he could feel it was far heavier than this currency. However, the pieces were all uniform in size and Gazef assured him that this was valid currency, so he just supposed this was how this world worked.

On top of that, there were several thousand silver pieces, all of which fit neatly into Suzuki's inventory, thankfully. Most of the armor the scripture had worn had been smashed, but enough pieces had been intact from several different people that he could make a complete set for himself.

The armor was light enough, and he had no problems putting it on given it was made to be worn by magic casters. It was worthless compared to his original set as Momonga, but it was slightly better than his starting gear.

Some people shot him odd looks- well, he was wearing several dead people's armor, so he guessed it couldn't be helped.

It appeared looting the dead was something frowned upon in this world, something he would have to be careful of in the future.

Aside from the armor there were several minor magic items including more of those strange blue potions like the one he had found earlier, and a wide assortment of others. One of them was a ring that could let one breathe underwater, and after conferring with Gazef Suzuki got to know that even in this world, you could only wear two magic rings at once. Just like in Yggdrasil- unless you used cash items like he had on his character Momonga.

Again, these magic items were nothing special compared to what Suzuki was used to, though he kept them anyway thinking they were better than nothing and maybe that he could sell them.

Then there were some miscellaneous items like a slingshot and several bullets, all of which also went surreptitiously into his inventory.

One thing that Gazef remarked on was that the men lacked any paperwork signifying who they were, which he said meant this was likely a covert mission. There was however, a letter they found on one of the corpses.

It appeared to be addressed to the now deceased man's son- or so Gazef told him given that Suzuki could not read the script. He had probably forgotten to send it out before the mission, though Suzuki wondered if there was a postal service in this world.

The reminder though that these men he had killed were people just like him and had friends and family waiting for them sickened Suzuki once more. He found the armor he was wearing to now be very uncomfortable- now that he thought about it, it was no wonder the others were judging him for wearing it.

Gazef didn't seem to care too much- he had probably taken dozens if not hundreds of lives before this. And in a way, the members of the scripture did deserve death given what they would have likely done to Gazef and what they had most likely planned to do to the villagers, but still...

Thankfully, something did pop up which lifted Suzuki's sunken spirits.

"Do you happen to know what this is? My men were about to leave it, but they considered the fact that it might be valuable," Gazef said.

And then, Suzuki nearly gasped in excitement. He then took a moment to try and control his features as much as possible.

It was a crystal!

Just like that in Yggdrasil!

However, it didn't seem to be an empty crystal which could be molded into practically any weapon or item, but it seemed to already have a spell sealed inside of it. It had a strange, mystical glow to it, which was probably why Gazef's men had deemed it important enough to bring it back.

Albedo appraised the item, and whispered to Suzuki that it contained a seventh tier spell, [Summon Angel Seventh Tier- Dominion Authority].

In other words, by his usual standards, it was garbage.

But, for now, it was the most useful thing that he had encountered up till this moment. He could, using this item, summon a level forty angel. A level forty angel could easily dispatch a monster at level thirty, and if experience gain worked in this world the same way it did in Yggdrasil, that would mean that he could from level one to level fifteen to nineteen in one go depending on the monster he beat.

And best of all, he would not be at risk because it was a summoned monster.

Trying not to look too happy in front of Gazef in case the man had a change of heart and decided to keep the crystal to himself, Suzuki said, "Yes, this is valuable enough. I'll take it."

And it was then that their conversation was interrupted by a loud sound- Suzuki's stomach rumbling.

Suzuki's face turned red. He had barely eaten anything since the morning, and had vomited out most of yesterday's meals, so it was no real surprise that he felt so hungry. A wave of fatigue even washed over him which he had not noticed in the heat of everything going on up till now.

Gazef let out a hearty chuckle, however, sparing Suzuki too much embarrassment. "Hard work does lead to an empty stomach, Sir Suzuki. If we were in the capital, I would offer to take you out to eat and drink to your heart's content. But, if our job is done here, I need to speed back towards the capital to deliver my report to His Majesty."

He bowed to Albedo, and also to Suzuki. "If you're ever in the capital, please ask for me! I would love to share a drink with you, Sir Suzuki, and Lady Albedo!"

Gazef shook Suzuki's hand, and Suzuki was quite surprised at how strong the man's grip was compared to his own. Then again, if this man was a warrior, that should have not come as too much of a surprise.

Overall, Suzuki felt he sort of liked Gazef, even though they had spent only a few hours together. He reminded him of a Shonen anime protagonist, though at the same time, not dumb enough to realize when he was out of his league. And not so blinded by his ideals that he would ignore the reality of the situation around him.

As Gazef rode away into the sunset with his Warrior Band tailing him, Suzuki made a mental note of things he needed to accomplish.

First of all, he needed to see if he could level up.

Second of all, too lead up to that goal, he needed to collect items that would let him summon monsters, so that he could level up with relative ease and safety.

Third, he needed a way to replenish his consumable items.

Fourth, he needed to see if there was a way for him to not need to sleep and eat. Albedo did not have to, and it was quickly becoming apparent to him that it was going to be a burden.

His stomach growling once again brought him back to reality, and so he and Albedo went towards Daniel's house for a meal.

"I have to say though, Lord Suzuki," Abledo said, clutching her weapon strangely. "It was so cool how you handled the situation today! How fitting for a Supreme Being and the man I love!"

"E-Eh?" Suzuki said. All he had had done was tell Albedo to do stuff- so why was he getting praised?

Perhaps if one considered the two of them to be part of a business operation, he, as the boss, would of course get praise for getting the job done, even if he had done nothing. However, he would indeed be a terrible boss if he took all the credit for the operation, and Suzuki felt especially bad given he had contributed essentially nothing.

"No, no, it was all thanks to your abilities, Albedo, that this was possible," Suzuki said.

"Please don't sell yourself short! After all, you were the brains behind the operation!" Albedo squealed. There was something very fangirly with her voice.

Dinner, as can be imagined, did not take place in Dan's house given that it was currently littered with corpses and would take several days to clean up, assuming that they would ever get rid of the stench. Instead, whatever was being cooked was being made in a large pot in the center of the village, with all the villagers contributing whatever they had.

Suzuki would have normally been disappointed by the potato stew especially given how now was the third time he was eating it, but he now gulped it down without hesitation given how hungry he was.

Unbeknownst to him, Gazef and his band had made a brief stop to decapitate the heads of the fallen members of the Sunlight Scripture to present them in case anyone recognized their faces. Gazef was disappointed not to see any emblems or symbols identifying which country these people came from- it was obvious, of course, to him that they were from the Slain Theocracy, but he would need more concrete evidence to present to the nobles.

Not that they would likely care. An attack on a small village, or for that matter, on himself, was unlikely to ruffle their feathers. If anything, they, particularly that snake Marquis Raevan, would be disappointed the attack had not succeeded in killing him.

It was likely some of them had conspired to create this scenario in the first place by stripping him of the kingdom's treasures.

The next day, Suzuki and Albedo bade their farewells to Daniel and his family. Suzuki offered them a few gold pieces to help out with rebuilding, but Dan sternly declined this. He did however, accept a few silver coins after Suzuki insisted that he take them.

The journey to E-Rantel might've taken them two or three days had they travelled on foot, but Albedo could fly them there within a few hours while keeping a speed that Suzuki was comfortable with.

On the way, Suzuki noticed several more human settlements, as well as some roaming monsters. He thought about casting [Magic Arrow] from his vantage point but decided it was not worth the trouble right now. He might end up aggroing some enemies who might chase him, or they might try to attack him from a distance, and Albedo would not be able to shield him properly with him being in her arms. He didn't know their capabilities, after all.

The city was quite an impressive sight, however, Suzuki had to admit. It was circumscribed by three layers of walls, and from what Suzuki could tell could probably house up to half a million people in it, though the city's population was likely much smaller.

They got through customs rather easily- the only real hurdle was that they demanded Albedo remove her helmet [which she did when Suzuki told her to], and seemed to be taken aback by her features. However, once they were sure her features did not match the description of any known criminals, the two were allowed to pass through the gate. Suzuki was not wearing his armor, mainly because he had thought it would make him stand out too much, but he let Albedo wear hers since it was far more important she be armored than him.

Before heading out deeper into the city, Suzuki decided to talk to a guard. "I was wondering if I could maybe ask you some questions regarding the city- I am new here."

The guard let out a wry smile as he played with the spear by his side. "Maybe- if you made it worth my time."

Suzuki understood and tossed the man a silver piece.

"Thank you kindly- now what would you like to ask?"

"I was looking for a hotel, first of all," Suzuki said.

"Now that'd depend on your budget."

"Somewhere not to expensive, but not too cheap either," Suzuki said. As far as he could tell, gold pieces were quite valuable, and he had over eighty of them, but he didn't want to splurge his fortune in a single day. That said, he didn't want to stay somewhere too seedy either.

"Well, then you'd be best staying at the Lakewood Inn, or the Fireside Cabin," the guard said and gave them directions.

"Second, if I wanted to sell some weapons I had, where would I?" Suzuki asked.

The man looked Suzuki up and down but saw he wasn't carrying anything- although Albedo was. "Well, you could either head over to a weapons shop, most of 'em are located over there in the east, or you could wait and try to sell it on the Adventurer's Bazaar."

"Adventurer's Bazaar?"

"Yessir, ever Tuesday and Friday the city's adventurers hold an open market on the north side from noon to sundown. They sell stuff they found, and you can even try sellin' them some things," the guard said.

"I see. And that would be the best place to also purchase magic items?" Suzuki asked.

"Well, yeah sure, you might find yourselves a bargain there," the guard said. "Or, you could head on over to the Magician's Guild, or some of the other treasure shops if you want some things a bit more regular in supply- though they'll probably charge you more too." He pointed out where the Magician's Guild was located.

"Lastly, where is the Adventurer's Guild?" Suzuki asked. He found out a bit about adventurers when he had asked Dan last night, and thought it might be worthwhile to register.

"Over there," the guard said. "Huge building. Can't miss it." He then scanned the two of them up and down, much like Gazef had, as if expecting them to be wearing something they weren't.

"Ah, thank you," Suzuki said and he and Albedo headed off.

Suzuki pondered what he had just done. He didn't mind spending a silver for some information- though when one thought about it such a thing was outright bribery and had no real place within a functioning government.

Funnily enough, Suzuki believed that both Touch Me and Ulbert, despite their often conflicting views, would agree that what the guard did was terrible. Touch Me because he would view it as injustice- while Ulbert would've viewed it as a person in power breaking the rules to his advantage much as how the MegaCorps did.

Suzuki, however, had no real qualms about the event, it might be that it was just how the world worked in this place. He would just tuck this small bit of knowledge away that apparently corruption was rampant in this country's system of governance- or perhaps it was only this city? Regardless, he went on his way.

He would've liked to go to the Adventurer's Guild first, but he thought it would be best for now to find them a place to stay. This new body of his which was nearly identical to his old one felt thirst, hunger, and fatigue just as he would in the real world. Shelter, as such, took priority over everything else.

They ended up at the Lakewood Inn simply because it was closer. To Suzuki, it appeared to be an upper-middle establishment, though Albedo clearly didn't see it that way and described it as little more than a hovel.

As they walked inside, Suzuki was distracted by an odor that immediately met his nostrils. It was very alluring- there was a small bakery shop near the reception.

While potato stew had been nice enough, Suzuki was a bit sick of it given he had had it for breakfast now as well, and so he decided to try some of this new cuisine. He gave Albedo some coins to book them a room while he sampled some of the products on display.

He was greeted in the store by a smiling young woman with brown hair. "What can I get you for?"

Suzuki didn't really know what he wanted, so he settled on a slab of chocolate that caught his eye. "That one!" Then, he hastily added, "And make it two, would you?"

"Sure thing, hon'." the woman replied and packed his order for Suzuki. It cost him ten coppers.

Suzuki walked towards the reception, where Albedo was holding a set of keys. "It cost twelve silver for a day's stay here, Lord Suzuki."

That honestly felt a bit expensive to Suzuki, but he considered it okay for now though. The inn did look a bit fancy, and he could not properly judge prices unless he wandered around to various other inns and compared their rates. That would take time- time he didn't want to waste right now, especially given he was not exactly starving for cash at the moment.

However, it soon became clear to him as to why the room cost twelve silver a night when he saw it.

There was a magnificent heart-shaped bed in the center with rose petals neatly decorated over it. Someone had set up candlesticks throughout the room and pulled the curtains shut, so it was lit up only by candlelight. A strange aroma also wafted through the air.

"Enjoy your stay, teehee!" the maid who had led them to their room said while giggling and closing the door behind her as she left.

Albedo had not rented just any room.

No, she had chosen to rent the honeymoon suite.

And it was probably a deluxe package given how much it had cost.

"Al-Albedo, how many days did you book this room for?" Suzuki asked.

"Three days, Lord Suzuki," Albedo said. "I assumed that was long enough for us to properly enjoy ourselves..."

Well, that was only thirty-six silver down the hole, no big deal but...

Suzuki then noticed that Albedo had taken all of her armor off and was standing in her normal body-hugging white dress. She eyed him like a kitten would a mouse.

Not knowing what to say, Suzuki said, "I got you something. I saw some pastries downstairs, and thought you might enjoy tasting one too."

"Oh, how thoughtful of you," Albedo said. She was standing just a few inches from his face now, and her scent washed over him, overpowering whatever aroma had been present in the room beforehand.

Albedo then plopped herself onto the bed and spread her arms, never taking her eyes off of Suzuki. Even Suzuki Satoru, who had never been with a women, could clearly recognize that she was inviting him to join her.

Once again he felt a sensation in his nether regions he would not have been able to feel within Yggdrasil. "A-Albedo, we can't do this."

"Oh? Why not? Do you... not want to?" Albedo asked, while looking away and pretending to be shy for a few seconds. For some reason, that just turned Suzuki on even more.

"No, not that I don't want to," Suzuki said. His little brain was doing most of the thinking for him right now, but his big brain still had the common sense to know that this was not a route he wanted to go down. "It's just that- we can't until we're married!"

It was a stupid thing to say, particularly for someone who came from the 22nd century, but it was the first excuse that came to mind.

Tears began to form in Albedo's eyes. For a moment, Suzuki panicked because he thought he had done something to upset her, but then she smiled broadly.

"Yes! Yes! I can't wait to become your bride, Lord Suzuki!" Albedo cried out, now blushing.

"E-Eh?" Suzuki blurted out.

What he had meant by his statement was "a man and a woman should not be intimate unless the two are married" but what Albedo interpreted from this was "first I will marry you, and then we can do this later" especially given that Suzuki had called her his 'partner' several times, not realizing that 'partner' meant 'work partner' when Suzuki said it. And for Albedo, well, to become Suzuki's bride was basically her only goal in life.

"In that case, let's go to a court immediately! And find the local magistrate and have him marry us!" Albedo said. "Oh, we can even skip the usual wedding nonsense, I just want to be married- unless of course you want a proper wedding, Lord Suzuki!"

"We-we can't get married like that!" Suzuki protested. "I mean, first we should get to know each other, right, take each other out on dates and such..."

To be honest, that was the real reason that he was hesitant to join Albedo. A man like him would find it hard to jump in bed with a woman he had just met. Also, he was not entirely sure that this relationship would be okay- he had technically brainwashed her after all. He needed time to sort out his thoughts on that as well.

"Oh? Is that how the Supreme Beings court other people?" Albedo asked.

"Y-Yeah," Suzuki said. "And anyway, right now, I think we need to go get stuff done. Put on your armor."

The two of them went out onto the streets of E-Rantel.

It occurred to Suzuki that in a way, this was kind of like a date. Going shopping together... yeah that could be construed as a 'date' in a way.

Albedo saw a couple with their arms interlocked with each other, and so she too wrapped her own arm around Suzuki's.

"Albedo!" Suzuki protested.

"I need to be close to you, Lord Suzuki, particularly in such a crowded area," Albedo replied matter-of-factly. She was completed covered in her spiky armor, and as such the two of them walking through the streets looked very odd indeed, though aside from stopping to maybe stare at them for a few seconds no one really did anything.

"Here we are then," Suzuki said as he walked into the store and told Albedo to leave his arm. She did so begrudgingly.

The sign outside had a potion symbol on it, so Suzuki assumed this was the master potion maker that everyone was talking about.

He wanted to come here first given how he had already used some of the ones that Albedo had brought- and also he wanted some information on the blue potions he had recently acquired.

"Hello!" a young man, barely a boy greeted them. "How can I help you?"

"I understand that you sell healing potions?" Suzuki asked.

"But of course," the shopkeeper replied and whipped out several bottles that Suzuki recognized- they were identical to the one he had found. "That'll be one gold eight silvers for one of them."

Suzuki paused. "Are these the only healing potions you have?"

The boy looked puzzled. "They are the finest quality ones that we have. If you go lower in quality, you'll end up with concoctions of simple herbs. These are the equivalent of a first tier healing spell though."

"Do you not have potions equal to a second tier healing spell?" Suzuki asked. That was what his potions were equivalent to.

"No, sorry, but as far as I know such things don't exist," he answered.

Suzuki asked for Albedo to fetch a potion- one from Yggdrasil. "And what about this? Have you seen a potion like this before? Do you have anything like it?"

The shopkeeper examined the bottle with new vigor. He finally used [Appraise Magic Item] on it. "I have to say, I'm sorry because I've never seen a potion like this one before."

"Ah, it can't be helped then," Suzuki said. He examined the blue potions that the man had. He then took out one he had kept in his inventory. "I was ah- given this by someone. I wanted to confirm that this too is a healing potion?"

The shopkeeper examined it, and this time he looked quite bored. "Yeah, that's a healing potion alright. Same as the ones we sell."

"I'll take three healing potions then," Suzuki said. He had the money right now, and he thought that it might be useful to have a few extra.

"Well, alright then," the shopkeeper said, and then he paused. "How much do you want for that red potion? I'll take it off your hands."

Suzuki could tell the man was deeply interested in the potion, but he wasn't about to give up one of his consumables from Yggdrasil. "It's not for sale, sorry."

The man looked disappointed, but traded away three potions in exchange for three gold and twenty-four silver coins.

"Well, that wasn't what I was hoping for," Suzuki said, slightly dejected once they were out of the store. "Let's see if we have more luck in the Adventurer's Guild."

Nfirea tidied up the shop when he heard someone come in from the backdoor.

"Grandma! You're back!"

"Indeed I am, child," the old lady said as she hobbled into the store. She had gone to get supplies from the local market. "How was the shop while I was gone?"

"Business is good," Nfirea said as he started to lay out lunch and put a sign saying they were on a break in front of the shop.

As the two of them began to dig in, Nfirea couldn't help but pipe up, "Hey, have you ever seen a red healing potion before?"

Nfirea thought nothing of the question, it was a matter of simple curiosity for him, but Lizzie's eyes suddenly widened and she stopped chewing to look Nfirea intensely in the eye. "Only in the works of legends, boy. They say that the best healing potions are the color of God's Blood itself."

Nfirea remembered the vivid hue of the potion he had seen. "I saw something like that, Grandma, and I appraised it and found it to be equal to a second tier healing spell."

Lizzie's eyes widened. "And what did you do then?"

"I offered to buy it, but the man refused to sell it," Nfirea said.

"This can't stand," Lizzie said with an intensity that nearly scared Nfirea. "That potion... if we had the secret to it we could mint gold! Nfirea! We must find this man! Tell me about him!"

Nfirea described the person in question to his grandmother, as well as the other one who had been travelling with.

"And you didn't even get their names?" Lizzie asked incredulously. "Nfirea, what was wrong with you, my boy? We now have no leads as to where they are!"

Nfirea racked his brains for a few seconds to think of something. He was a genius, at least, people said so, so he tried to come up with something. "They weren't wearing plates, but the woman was very heavily armed. Also, they came here to buy healing potions, and so... I think they might've been either a mercenary or adventurer team."

"So you know where to start to ask about them, then," Lizzie said with a sly grin. "Finish eating quickly boy, and get to the Adventurer's Guild first, stat!"

Registering to become adventurers was a bit problematic. The thing was that Suzuki could pay the registration fee alright, it's just that neither he nor Albedo could pass the literacy test.

Neither of them could read the language of this world, and as such, they were informed that they would not be allowed to join as adventurers.

If only Suzuki had his translating glasses with him- he could've probably aced it easily. But he didn't, and Albedo had no need for such an item and so didn't have one in her inventory.

In Yggdrasil several areas had different "languages" that were just gibberish which could be translated into Japanese with items or skills, which was needed for some quests and if you wanted to read some more lore. Also, some spell books, which granted the reader instant ability to use a spell if they met certain requirements, also needed translating. Suzuki was pretty certain that in this world those glasses would've translated this script of the kingdom as well, but he had no way to know given he did not have them.

This was one of the difficulties of starting life in a different world from zero- and come to think of it that reminded him of an anime series which had the same words in its title. Then again- he was not starting a life in a new world from zero, he had gotten to take Albedo with him, so perhaps this was more similar to that other anime series where the protagonist got to take a goddess with him to a new world.

It would've been a good idea to try to learn the script of the kingdom anyway even if he had the translating item, but the thing was that such an undertaking would definitely take several months if not years at the least.

Time that he did not have right now.

Albedo looked like she was about to make a ruckus when they had been informed that they could not join, but Suzuki had managed to calm her down.

It was still a great disappointment, however. He thought he might be able to piggyback off of Albedo's abilities and get a steady stream of income, and also earn some fame along the way. Not to mention he had a feeling there were a lot of insider secrets that only adventurers knew, and he wanted access to them.

As it was though, they were about to catch a break just as they descended the stairs leading outside the guild.

"Hey!" someone called out to them.

Suzuki turned his head to see a familiar face- the shopkeeper he had seen earlier.

"Do you think we could talk for a minute?"

A/N: I keep saying these will get shorter, and this is still 5k words long. Oh well, don't get too used to it, the next ones will be shorter. Might be going on a real break from writing now, and I think I'll be working on Nazarick In the Real World for now before I get back to this. I think someone who left a review in Spanish was asking about that- I'm sorry but Google Translate could only translate a part of what you said.

I also sort of have a bit of difficulty with prices in the New World and have been looking them up in the wiki, but I don't think that's a big deal. As far as I can tell, 1 New World Gold Coin = $1,000 in our own world from the wiki, 13 coppers are a silver, and 100 silvers are a copper. Also, I didn't know a platinum currency existed, but let's just assume that it's so rare Suzuki hasn't heard of it yet.

The wiki makes no sense with prices though- given that it says that a copper is about 10 USD, but a gold is 1300 copper coins, but then also says a gold is 1,000 USD, so it doesn't add up. Most likely I guess it wants to say a copper is 1 USD?

And yeah, I know prices in the wiki are in yen, I did a short conversion of 100 yen = 1 USD which is not always true but as a rough estimate I find to be good enough.

That said, Ainz gave 7 coppers for a room for a day's stay at a rather seedy location, so I do think that 12 silver is rather extravagant for a day's stay- which is what I was essentially going for. That is 156 copper, or about 22 more expensive than where he stayed at in the anime! Which, does make sense I think given the room is a deluxe one.

Anyway, enough rambling. Thanks for reading!
