UA Entrance Exam: 10 months

Izuku and Mina sat in class, surrounded by their classmates, Izuku had turned around in his seat to rest his arms on Mina's desk. Both of them were on their phones, Mina's own foot rubbing Izuku's leg, less in a manner of some sexual tension and more along the lines of simply having to do something with her leg as it was more of poking and prodding.

"Izuku?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you think I can pull off what… hmm… What's her name? Hill Girl?"

"Mt Lady?"

"Oh yeah, her. Do you think if I show off my butt like her I can go pro?"

Had this been her first day in class with these students, there would have been an uproar with many of them staring at Mina for asking such a question. What actually happened was that many students groaned, with a couple of pieces of paper bouncing off her head as she gave a troll-like grin, though some of the males seem to fantasize such a thing. Izuku, who had known Mina for years and gotten used to such things only hummed in thought before shrugging.

"I guess, not my place to say. Kind of want to show off my own butt and see if that gets results."

Much wider set of groans echoed out and more paper went flying, however some of the female students blushed at the thought of Izuku doing such a thing.

No one could deny that the two students were the most physically fit of the school. Everyone had seen Izuku and Mina in their workout gear at one point or another, showing off bodies that wouldn't seem out of place on models or heroes.

In all regards, the entire school knew they were training to be heroes, so most were not surprised at how fit they were. But they were also known to be utterly relaxed a majority of the time, seemingly to be a pile of ooze if they were not training or studying, usually commenting that sometimes you have to just let go and be a puddle on the floor sometimes. Stress was a killer on most heroes and they did their best to just relax when they got the chance and be positive.

However, those that knew the duo the longest knew that both of them were unsettled by something they must have seen earlier today, seeing the way Mina was bouncing her leg or the way Izuku was muttering about something he was looking at. They were only like that when they both saw something they didn't like and were unable to do anything about it.

Izuku and Mina had run into a villain fight, and usually they watched from a fair distance away. Both teens couldn't help but note the heroes, with Izuku jotting down what he saw on his notebook and Mina humming as kept a careful eye so they could move if the fight drew close to them. Seeing Kamui Woods in person was nice, though his attempt to make what was essentially a purse snatcher into some horrible villain made both Izuku and Mina deadpan at the attempt.

Neither one was stupid enough to believe the man had done it simply because he was a 'villain', but someone who was down on their luck and forced to do things to survive. Majority of 'villains' were like that, and their mentor All Might aka Toshinori Yagi had explained that in detail. Only a few villains were actually in it to do bad things for the heck of it, and were usually the most dangerous of the lot. Others had been doing it for so long they knew no other way to live or provide for themselves, with All Might himself grumbling that he was trying to get the HPSC to start providing means for 'villains' to learn skills while imprisoned so they can get a better start in life on their release.

Which they promptly ignored and just caused the problem to continue.

So far the damage was minimal, with only a broken wall to the subway station to show for it when he tried to beat Kamui away. They saw that he was preparing his own 'super' move which would ensnare the villain and hold him in place. A good move in their book and would cause minimum damage.

Then 'Hill Girl' arrived and basically shut down the subway station and all lines running through it for the foreseeable future, including damage to the street and the surrounding buildings from the debris that was sent scattering everywhere.

The whole 'debut' shot she posed for after causing such damage, and both teens saw the absolute deranged looking smile for what it was made both teens send text to Uncle Nighteye and see if he could do something about it, perhaps talk to her about her conduct

(They later learn that Nighteye and Bubble Girl had arrived at the agency Mt Lady worked for and left an hour later, and the woman was looking pale, along with the other heroes who witnessed it. Bubble Girl on the other hand looked like she was on Cloud Nine as she skipped happily after her boss.)

The door opened and the teacher walked in with a stack of paper in hand, prompting Izuku to turn around on his seat and prepare for the day.

"Alright settle down all of you." The teacher stated, as he waved to the stack of paper. "All of you are middle school seniors, it's about time you start seriously thinking about your future. I'll be handing out a print-out for your desired career path…"

He paused for a moment, with both Mina and Izuku giving quiet sighs when they realized he was doing it for dramatic effect. With a simple flourish he tossed the stack into the air and sent it fluttering everywhere. "Ah, who am I kidding. All of you want to be heroes, am I right?"

'Our teacher is an idiot.' Both teens stared at the man in disbelief while the class went wild around them. They had always known they would try and enter UA, but they were also realistic in their thoughts that they might not make it and knew they had to choose another school if things didn't pan out for them. They learned of other schools with specialties for not just hero work but for the workforce as well, something Inko and Tamoyo drilled into their heads just in case they ever decide hero work was not for them.

The teacher caught the two staring at him with disappointment, causing him to sweat a little as he calmed the students down from using their quirks before giving the two a small smile of his own. "Not that I doubt any of you don't have a chance, but our school already has a couple of aces going into UA, isn't that right Ashido, Yagi?"

Most students turned to them, Mina giving a small hum while Izuku rubbed his face.

"Aces?"

"Yeah, Izu and I already took the mock tests and scored pretty high." Mina commented, giving everyone a smile while Izuku nodded his head at her comment.

"Oh, Yagi. Is your quirk about to come in soon? I know you are a late bloomer and all, but if your quirk doesn't come in soon, won't the practical portion be that much harder?" One student asked, causing others to look to the teen in question for the answer.

"Almost… All Might has been pushing me, saying that I have a hard physical stress release that shows that I have a lot of potential, but the backlash might hurt me once I unlock it." Izuku shrugged, with many students giving him a look of worry at his words. "So if you see me coming in with bandages or casts, it means I have unlocked it."

It might have been a hard sell, with some not believing that Izuku had a quirk at all and calling him a liar. But when the Number One hero of Japan comes by and picks you and your girlfriend up for training every once in a while, it's kind of hard to do so.

"Even if it doesn't come in, Yagi has the best chance out of all of us to make it. He has been training since he was a child." Another student commented, causing many students to nod their heads at this assessment.

It actually touched Izuku that they believed he could make it, even if he didn't have his quirk just yet. The teacher gain their attention and the day moved on, and yet Izuku felt like something was missing, but for the life of him he couldn't really tell what that was.

After a moment of thought, he shrugged and moved on.

-Later that day-

Izuku and Mina quietly walk through the street, their hands linked as they enjoyed the stroll through the neighborhood. It was a day of rest for the duo and they simply wanted to enjoy the presence of the other.

"Do you ever feel like something is missing?" Izuku asked out of the blue as they neared a tunnel.

"Like?"

"I don't know. Feels like I am missing something but for the life of me I can't figure it out." Izuku thought about it some more before shrugging. "Well, whatever it is, probably not important."

"It's probably your baby sister you are thinking about." Mina tapped her chin in thought, "You know, because of all the baby stuff around the house and feeling tense because she isn't around yet. Just another week or so until she will be born, no worries!"

Izuku gave her a warm smile as they walked out from the underpass and turned to give her a kiss, chuckling as he felt her eagerly return it. That was when they heard the sloshing of something liquid from the manhole, causing both to turn to see a massive slime with eyes and a mouth happily cackling at them.

"Oh, would you look at that! Two medium size desigues ready to go. Only need one though." He gave Mina a lecherous grin as he pounced on her, a tentacle lashing out at Izuku knocking him back while he covered Mina in his body. He began to try and force his way through her mouth all the while cackling. "Hey hey, don't struggle so much. It will be real quick, less than a minute, promise. I'll take your body for a spin, treat it real good bwhahahaha-ha?"

He turned one of his eyes to Izuku, while glaring at him, had started to laugh out loud as well at his words. The vicious smile on the boy made him pause as he stared. "Oh boy, you chose the wrong meatsuit buddy."

"Huh?! What… what's going on… ah! Argh! It burns! Ah! Aaaargh!?"

About a minute later All Might came out of the manhole cover, his mouth open to declare his arrival only to pause as he saw his kids standing before him, Mina wearing only her special workout gear and tossing what look like a hose of acid onto a withering slime man who was screaming bloody murder while Izuku was stomping on his face, cursing at him like a sailor while he tried to cave the slime man's head in.

"ALL MIGHT! SAVE ME!"

-20 minutes later-

The duo were walking home, Mina was wearing Izuku's school jacket and had bought some sandals at a nearby store to protect her feet.

All Might had given the slime man two options; either come quietly with him, or he can take a walk for about an hour and let the kids deal with him as they pleased.

Suffice to say, he chose the smart option.

They were halfway home when Toshinori showed up with a smile on his face and a bag filled with golden apples. "How are you kids?"

"Doing fine Papa Toshi. Apples for Mama Inko?" Mina asked, staring at the apples with a knowing smile. Toshinori seemed to hang his head a bit before reaching in and grabbing an apple himself.

"She seems almost ravenous for them, Golden Delicious especially." He took a bite, smiling a bit as he chewed. He swallowed before turning to Izuku, "Said it was like Izuku all over again."

"Eh?" Izuku pointed at himself. "Me?"

"Oh yeah. She honestly said that she never really cared for katsudon until she got pregnant with you, and suddenly she couldn't get enough of it." Toshinori laughed at the shocked look on Izuku's face, "I'll be honest, kind of glad my daughter has chosen something a little healthier than a plate full of fried pork."

"There is more than fried pork…" Izuku muttered, which Mina giggled a bit as she bumped her hip against his own. They walked up to his home and open the door, smiling as they saw Inko standing near the kitchen with Kokoro, a hand on her belly as she rubbed it.

She turned to smile at the three before frowning at Mina wearing Izuku's jacket, she had just opened her mouth to speak before her eyes clenched shut in pain and everyone heard water hitting the ground between Inko's legs.

Everyone froze in place, staring as Inko doubled over and looked up with a pained smile. "Oh dear… I think Makoda wants out now…"

-Several hours later, Musutafu General Hospital-

Izuku paced up and down the hall, everyone they knew was there were also waiting. Gran Torino was near a window with coffee in his hand, looking out and seeing the Musutafu city skyline in deep thought and signs of regret on his face, Izuku wasn't sure what it was about but felt that if he intruded it might cause a problem so he kept quiet. Nighteye was sitting reading a book with Bubble Girl by his side, the young heroine telling him corny jokes to keep his spirits up, and the simple fact that Nighteye brought her with him meant that he trusted her. To be honest though, neither Izuku and Mina were sure on how to handle the young woman who obviously liked Nighteye. In their eyes, the only woman for him was Disco, and yet she was gone and they both knew that she wouldn't want Nighteye to mope over her for the rest of his life. So for the time being they withheld judgment until they got to know her better.

Naomasa was sitting in his own corner, sleeping while he had the chance after a long day at the Police department. He was simply exhausted after trying to figure out where the newest pain in his ass, calling himself Stain, was hiding at. He attacked three heroes already, one literally just starting her career a couple of weeks ago and she was almost crippled from the psycho who attacked her. Still though, this was Toshinori's kid being born, he figured he might as well be here for the family and meet his niece.

Kokoro was there with Mina, Tamoyo had to work in the morning and had left to get some rest. Kokoro was giving Izuku a warm smile before gently nudging Mina and jerked a head to Izuku, indicating to the girl to calm him down. She blinked a bit before smiling and making her way towards the pacing boy who was muttering up a storm.

" .Ohgodwhatifshebringshomeaboywhosheisinterestedin?DoIgivehimawarning,threatentosmashhimintothegroundorwouldI-?!" Izuku's words were becoming rather dark to Mina's ears to whatever future boyfriend Makoda would get so she decided to nip it in the butt by literally pulling him into a deep kiss. Izuku remain frozen for a moment before gently reciprocate the action.

"Better?"

"Y-yeah." He managed out, a light blush on his face as he rubbed his head. "Was mumbling a lot, huh?"

"You were almost at Tsunami-Level mumble storm there." Mina giggled as she hugged him. "Gunhead sent me some text demanding pictures of Makoda when I get the chance."

"Knowing Mom, we are going to get a new hard drive for all the pictures she is going to take." Izuku gave a tired sigh at this, with Mina hugging him tightly with fond remembrance. They turned to the doors when a nurse came in, with many people either focusing on her or snapping awake at the news.

"Izuku?" She asked, with said teen stepping forward, she gave him a warm smile. "Your mother is fine, she gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Would you like to see her?"

"Y-yes… Can my girlfriend come? She is also a close family friend." Izuku wrapped an arm around Mina's shoulder, with Mina looking at the nurse with some trepidation.

"Mina?" The nurse asked, with Mina nodding her head, "She asked if you were still here to bring her in too. Come along."

"We'll take pictures!" Mina called to the others, who were sighing in relief to hear Inko was okay.

They followed the nurse until they reached the room his parents were in, the nurse quietly open the door and allowed the teens inside. Inko laid on the bed, covered in sweat but looking so happy, Toshinori was sitting by her side and just staring at the bundle in her arms.

Both of them were crying as they stared at the miracle in Inko's arms.

Izuku stepped forward only to freeze as he heard the small whine coming from Inko's arms. Inko gently swayed in her bed, giving Izuku a watery smile as beckon him to come closer. "Look who came to see you on your first day. It's your big brother."

Izuku stepped closer, almost afraid as he stood next to his mother's bed and looked down at the small bundle. A small face that slowly opened her eyes, beautiful emeralds that seemed almost cat-like in appearance which startled Izuku for a moment, his own eyes darting to the flickering cat-ears on top of her head with a mop of gold-green hair. She whined again and Izuku couldn't help but tear up at the sound.

"H-hey Makoda… I'm Izuku…" Izuku started as he got close, his baby sister's eyes focused on him, almost drinking his features into her growing mind. "I'm your big brother… I… I will protect you… I will be your hero so… so you never will cry okay?"

The newborn stared at Izuku as the teen reached out and gently touched her cheek. She gave a small yawn before her eyes closed and drifted off the sleep, nuzzling the warmth from his hand. Izuku wiped his tears away while Mina cried silently as she recorded the scene.

It wasn't long before both teens were hugging one another and watching Makoda, Mina sniffing once before she spoke. "I kind of want one now."

Izuku opened his mouth, but his mother beat him to it. "Please give me a grandbaby."

"Mom!"

-A hour later-

Time went by, many pictures and congratulations were given to Inko.

Naomasa had taken one look at the girl and couldn't help but groan and muttered about talking to Officer Tamakawa about what to look into for cat mutation quirked children.

Gran Torino held the child for a minute before he asked someone to take her away, refusing to turn around until Recovery Girl forced him to, showing a blubbering face that seemed to make Makoda gaze all the more intently at her grandfather.

Bubble Girl cooed at the child, even delighted in holding her while Nighteye spoke to his second-year intern Mirio Togata via a call. The blonde second year student loudly congratulated Inko and Toshinori and hopes that he can meet them at a later time in a better setting than him naked and falling through a roof.

When Kokoro attempted to take Makoda away from Bubble Girl, the young heroine seemed reluctant to let go, and when her gaze turned to Mirai she froze and her face turned beet red and looked away.

Mina held the child the longest, Makoda staring at the utterly alien colors that were Mina's skin and eyes. But she never cried as Mina cooed and cuddled with the child, humming as she slowly danced around the room with Makoda in her arms. Izuku found himself mesmerized by the scene, his eyes never trailing off Mina as she sang softly and twirled in a slow spin.

Inko could see the look of longing in Izuku's eyes, she knew they were both young and still trying to make it in the world, but she hoped that when the time came, Mina would give Izuku a family he deserved.

Then it was just the family of now four remaining.

"I have a question." Izuku asked after a few minutes of Mina leaving with her mother so she could give Izuku more time with his family and mostly his baby sister, which he was holding right now.

"About the ears?" Toshinori asked, which Izuku nodded.

"I don't recall mom ever saying Grandpa and Grandma having mutation quirks." Izuku stated, frowning a bit before smiling down at the child. "The cat-ears are cute though."

"She also has tails." Inko said, surprising Izuku at that.

"Wait, tails?"

"Two of them." Toshinori clarified, though he coughed a bit. "No, the cat mutation came from my side of the family, specifically my birth mother."

Izuku blinked at this, staring at his father for a moment but chose to remain silent for the time being, seeing Toshinori didn't want to talk about just yet. Toshinori decided to throw him a bone since the boy was curious about his baby sister's mutation. "My birth-mother could turn into a cat person; claws, ears, and a tail, the whole shtick with cat-like reflexes and all that. Not that she ever used it. My birth-father had a speed-boosting quirk, not by much but made him faster than a normal person. Looks like Makoda got my birth-mother's part of the quirk, albeit it was in the form of a mutation and not transformation, we are going to watch out for loud noises for her due to the ears."

"Huh. So I am guessing Makoda could be considered fifth generation? Sixth? She had the mutation in the womb after all." Izuku pondered on the question. Mutation-quirks like his sister had undergone were becoming the norm, she didn't have to go through the whole shifting of her biology like Mina did with her horns and acid or Minato with his wings. "You think she will get a secondary portion of the quirk when she gets older?"

"Possibly, for now let's focus on her growing up." Toshinori chuckled at his son's questions as he ruffled his hair. The nurse had come on to check on them and the child, smiling warmly at the family as she did so. Inko checked her phone and saw how late it had become, with a sigh Inko slowly closed her eyes, giving a quiet yawn as she held onto Toshinori's hand.

"Toshi… you and Izuku should go home."

"But-"

"No buts. Makoda will be fine and I want to rest…" Inko gave him a very tired but pleased look. "Toshi, we are going to be busy as parents, so you better get some shut eye now or you will miss it later."

"Um… right." Toshinori gave his wife a kiss, taking Makoda from Izuku's arms and held the child, his little girl, for several minutes before handing her to Inko. He walked to the door, turning to see Izuku hugging his mother and gently kissing Makoda on the forehead before he turned to leave with Toshinori. "Ready?"

Izuku seemed to search his eyes for a moment before giving him a small nod. "Yeah."

-On the way home-

Izuku and Toshinori were silent for most of the drive, Izuku occasionally wiping a tear or two from his cheek. Toshinori reached a free hand and tousled Izuku's hair and gave him a smile. "Dry those tears, Son. You will see her soon enough. You will make an excellent big brother for Makoda."

Izuku only gave him a warm smile before he turned to look at the passing cityscape. The question that popped into his head earlier came back with a vengeance, and something that Izuku just now noticed when he thought about it. "Dad?"

"Hmm?"

"Why don't you talk about your parents?" Izuku internally cringed at the blunt question, hearing Toshinori sighing but kept focused on the road. Izuku decided then and there that silence was a better part of Valor and kept his mouth shut. It was almost a full five minutes before Toshinori decided to bite the bullet and answer his son.

"My birth parents dropped me off at an orphanage when I was six years old." Toshinori started, causing Izuku to gape at this piece of information. The flat look on his father's face spoke of hardships that Izuku couldn't even begin to understand, but it was a face he was fully familiar with when it came to their past.

Disco. It reminds him of the face Disco made when he asked about her youth before Master Grande.

"Wha-what?! Why?!" Izuku sputtered at this information. Toshinori remained silent for a long moment, focusing on the road as he thought on what to say.

"'You are a burden on our social standing, Toshinori. Someone else will care for you.' Is what my birth mother told me when she dropped me off at the orphanage in Tokyo. Why my birth-mother thought it was appropriate to tell a child you are getting rid of was because he wasn't special and would affect your standing in the neighborhood daily get-together is beyond me." Toshinori scowled, his grip tightening on the steering wheel. "My former family were well off, upper-middle class types. Even 40 years ago, being quirkless was rare to find. In fact, out of everyone I know, I only met two quirkless people besides myself."

"Who?"

"You and Melissa." Toshinori gave him a small smile as he turned a corner. "I lived in that orphanage for almost 7 years until Nana found me… well, she picked me up by the scruff of my shirt and shouted at me for doing a dumb thing."

"What did you do?"

"Risk my life to save someone." Toshinori laughed out loud. "She asked where I lived and I just gave her the address, and she flew me directly to the orphanage. She was quite shocked to learn I was an orphan…"

He began to reminisce, a small smile as he remembered that day fully, seeing Nana floating in front of the caregiver and telling her what happened, with said caregiver rolling her eyes and began to fuss over him for doing such a thing. The thoughtful looks on her face as she watched a stubborn young man declare to the world why he did it.

"She asked me why I risked my life to save someone, and I just said 'I wasn't thinking, my body just moved on its own.' I must have shocked her because she floated there for a long moment before she laughed and said she found a good one." Toshinori shook his head in mirth at the memory. "After that, she came by and visited me almost every day. Help train me to take the test before deciding to give me One for All six months before the UA exams."

Toshinori turned the truck down their street, a warm smile on his face. "She even helped change my last name to Yagi, at my request because I didn't want my birth parents to try and ride my coattails if I did make it big. She did say it was a little on the nose but she helped anyway."

"Huh?"

"Yagi. The first part of the name written in Kanji, symbol represents eight, alluding to myself as the eighth holder for One for All." Izuku looked shocked at this news, but Toshinori only laughed and explained that it took him several days to come up with his last name. In that time, they pulled into their driveway, Toshinori and Izuku stepped from the truck and walked up to the front door, but Toshinori stopped Izuku from going in just yet.

Izuku looked up to his father, seeing the proud look on his face as he took Izuku in fully. "Izuku, I will make this promise to you here and now. I will never willingly leave you, your sister, or your mother. I will always do my best to come home to you all. I don't care what anyone says once the truth of myself comes out. You. Are. My son. I love you as if you truly were of my flesh and blood. I will never abandon you or your sister to the same fate me and Disco had gone through."

Izuku was close to tears as he wiped his eyes before he hugged Toshinori fiercely. "Thank you, dad. I love you…"

"I love you too." Toshinori whispered back as he patted his back gently.

UA Entrance Exam: 6 months

-Takoba Municipal Beach Park-

The sun was setting, two families plus some additional members were sitting with laughter in the air as they ate and be merry. Inko sat with Makoda in her arms, the girl cooing at the sight of the sea and watching her big brother play with his girlfriend and cousin in the waves. Toshinori was working a grill and laughing with David as the man attempted to show him the proper way to work a grill. A blushing Bubble Girl aka Kaoruko Awata sat next to her boss in a two piece bikini while Mirai sat in swim trunks and reading a book, his own cheeks slightly red at the beautiful young woman next to him.

Gran Torino and Recovery Girl simply sat on the chairs and enjoyed the tea they were consuming, occasionally their eyes drifted shut and began to snooze until the sounds of laughter woke them up.

Kokoro and Tamoyo sat near Inko, the husband embracing his wife on his lap as he watched their daughter dive into the waves to avoid her boyfriend, seconds later Melissa shrieked as she was suddenly lifted into the air by Mina and toppled over into the ocean. Izuku laughed out loud at the moment, with Melissa coming up and spitting out water while glaring at him. She turned to Mina and gave a smirk before both girls rushed Izuku who only yelped and began to try and get away from the two.

The best end way to end the summer and the start of something new

-Evening-

"Bye Uncle Nighteyes, Bubble Girl! Don't be too kissy face with one another!" Mina called out to the retreating pair, Bubble Girl's face a deep shade of red at Mina's call while Nighteyes just patted her head as they got to his car. He turned to Toshinori and gave him a long look, who only smiled and nodded.

Toshinori turned back and walked towards the ocean, indicating to Izuku to follow him as he made his way past his family. The rest of the family remained where they stood, quietly watching as Toshinori stood tall and proud as he watched the ocean waves, Izuku standing beside him as he waited for his father to speak. Toshinori gave a quick glance around the beach, seeing everyone that wasn't family has long since gone home. He gave a nod before shifting into All Might, clasping a hand on Izuku's shoulder.

"You have done well, Izuku. You followed the plan, you made improvements on your body and mind, you have gone beyond what I expected of you." All Might said loudly, a bright smile on his face as he looked down at his son. Izuku sniffed and wiped his eyes, but gave him a bright smile as well.

"Dad… thank you for trusting me with this… it means so much. I feel like I am the luckiest kid in the world to be honest. Even if you don't give me One for All, just knowing you and being your son that you are proud of makes it worth it." Izuku said sincerely, with All Might turning away and wiping his own eyes a bit.

"Damn it. I told myself I wasn't going to cry." He mumbled out loud, causing the others nearby to laugh a bit before he turned back. He reached up and plucked a hair off his head with a small wince, which confused Izuku and everyone else that was watching aside from Gran Torino he covered his mouth to cover his own laughter as he knew what was going to happen.

He remembered when Nana did it to Toshinori and that was a full barrel of laughs too.

"Someone told me this once." All Might started, holding the hair out in front of him, still confusing everyone by this move. "There is a difference between being lucky and being deserving. One's an accident and one is a reward. Never get the two confused. This gift is one you earn through sheer determination and overcoming everything that you experienced in your life. The hardship…"

"It's best if you give up the idea of being a hero."

"The mockery…"

"You are quirkless, what makes you think you can be a hero?!"

"The loss…"

A monument stood before Izuku, Disco's true name etched into the stone as the light rain fell around him.

"But due to that, you made it to where you are now, the acknowledgement…"

"Because you're my hero, Izu."

"The skills you worked hard to attain…"

"Now it is time to follow in her footsteps, will you follow my teachings to the letter?"

"The sheer willpower to stand tall in the face of adversity…"

"Your hero name will be Aegis."

"You experienced so much and kept moving forward to where we stand now. This is your reward, my son." All Might gave Izuku a proud smile as he held out his hair to Izuku, though the boy was ignoring it in favor of looking up to his father. "Now then…"

Everyone leaned forward, waiting to see how the transfer of power from one to another.

"Eat this."

The sounds of disgust reign across the beach, while one old man laughed his ass off. It wasn't long before a baby's cry rang out due to the shouts of denial and All Might trying to explain the process loudly, the entire family went into panic mode to make sure the youngest of them was happy and content.

Izuku ate the hair, but complained about the after taste for a long while, stating there was too much hair gel on it.

UA Entrance Exam: 5 months

Izuku's face was on the table, groaning as he held his leg to get rid of the lingering pain, Makoda meanwhile was being usual quiet self as she stared at her brother with a bit of drool running down her chin. Inko giggled a bit as she wiped the drool away and turned to her son with a smile.

"Izuku, how is your leg?" Inko asked as she got ready to feed Makoda, Toshinori walking into the kitchen with a grimace on his face when he heard the question.

"It's healed, but my leg cramped up so bad last night." Izuku moaned, rubbing his leg with a pitiful whimper.

"At least you didn't fully break your leg." Toshinori commented as he got some breakfast on a plate and sat down next to Makoda, staring right back at her as she looked at him with an intense gaze, only to giggle when her father made a funny face at her before turning to eat.

Gaining One for All was turning into a curse for Izuku, as he had barely any control over it. The following morning Toshinori, Izuku, Mina, Gran Torino, and Recovery Girl had gone to the beach and allowed Izuku to fully power up One for All and unleashed a Smash on the ocean.

It was impressive, that everyone knew for sure.

What wasn't so impressive was the way Izuku's arm looked like a deflated balloon waving in the wind, Izuku staring at shock at the power before the pain fully hit him and knocked him out.

Suffice to say, he had made very little improvements since.

"I don't know what I'm doing wrong." Izuku moaned, raising his head slightly before slamming it back down, much to the delight of Makoda who giggled at the funny noise. Mina had stepped into the kitchen with a towel on her head, gently tousled her boyfriend's hair before squealing with happiness as she began to play with the equally delighted Makoda. She had spent the night to help comfort her boyfriend from once again not being able to use the quirk he inherited from Toshinori, though she was not expecting to be woken up at two in the morning from a massive cramp pain.

At least not one she usually receives from her monthlies.

"Well, Papa Toshi did say it's a stockpile quirk right?" Mina stopped playing with Makoda, allowing Inko to pick the girl up and go feed her in the living room. "And he had it for a very long time now, so him saying he had an easy time learning control isn't that great because it wasn't as powerful as it is now."

Both males remain silent, slowly turning to Mina as she bit into her toast before realizing they were staring at her. "What?"

Toshinori groaned as he slapped his forehead, "I'm such an idiot. I'm sorry Izuku. We need to figure out a way to control it as 'winging it' like me isn't going to cut it."

Mina continued to eat her toast, watching as the two continued to talk shop for One for All, wondering something before she swallowed and asked. "Papa Toshi?"

"Hmm?"

"Can you be All Might for a moment." Mina asked, Toshinori blinking before he stood and bulked up to his hero form. Mina walked around him for a moment, looking him over before smiling and gently patting his chest before turning to Izuku. "Just do what he does!"

"Uh…" Twin voices from Toshinori and Izuku echoed out in confusion, causing the pinkette to rub her eyes before pointing at Toshinori again.

"What does he do when he turns into All Might?"

"He gets bigger?" Izuku answered, Mina waited for Izuku to get the clue but when all he did was stare at her, she slapped her face in frustration.

"Izu, I love you so much. You are a quirk analyst genius… and yet when it comes to this, you are an absolute moron." Mina chided him, wincing slightly at the hurt look on her boyfriend's face. "He turns big, yes. All of him turns big."

"He sure does…" Inko's voice floated from the living room, with Izuku turning rather green at those words and scowling.

"Mom!" All he got was a giggle from her.

"What I mean is, he doesn't focus on One for All in a single part of his body. He just uses it entirely through his body and allowing him to do all the things he does." Mina explained, staring at Izuku as it finally clicked in his head.

Then he slammed his head on the table again. "I'M A FUCKING IDIOT!"

"Izuku, language." Inko called out. Izuku ignored it as he stood up and began to focus on himself. Instead of focusing One for All in an arm or leg, he simply allowed it to fill his body entirely.

Inko had come rushing in with Makoda when she heard a gasp coming from Mina and Toshinori. Her eyes widened as she stared at Izuku who seemed to be glowing with bolts of lightning running across his body with gritted teeth.

"He literally went Super Saiyan…" Mina mumbled as she stared at her boyfriend, his hair gone from the fluffy mess to jagged spikes as the hair seemed to be standing on its end. Toshinori nodded dumbly at this while holding his phone and was recording the entire sequence of events to send to Grand Torino so he can help figure out what to do next.

"It's… too much…" Izuku growled out, his glowing green eyes focused on a point before him, unaware that his baby sister was staring with complete focus on her brother from her mother's arms, eyes similarly glowing with power until it began to dim a moment later. "Lowering it... Grk… 75%... 45%... 20%..."

With every call, the power that fill the room began to dim, his hair went back to its fluffy nature by twenty percent, bolts of lightning were still present though at a much more diminished nature.

"15… 5… Ugh." Izuku gasped as he nearly fell to his knees, but managed to catch himself. "3%. That's all I can safely use without feeling like I am about to break something."

Everyone watched as Izuku carefully walked around, grimacing at the jerking movements as he struggled not to throw his arms or legs out and hurt someone. After a moment of walking the power vanished and Izuku collapsed on the couch and began to breathe heavily from the strain. Toshinori had recorded the entire event and sent it to Gran Torino and Nighteye for them to look over it and give their assessment on what to do next. "How are you feeling, Izuku?"

"Exhausted…" Izuku commented with a labor breath, turning to look at his family before grimacing and looking away. "Mom, please put your breast away."

Inko blinked and looked down, seeing her breast hanging out freely in the open from feeding Makoda, causing her face to flush and quickly walking out of the living room to the bedroom to finish feeding the baby.

-Couple of hours later-

"Hmm…" Gran Torino rubbed his chin in thought as he looked Izuku over while holding this new form of One for All. "Interesting use of the quirk. The big lug here just turned into a bigger lug, you on the other hand seem to be more on the showy side of things."

"It's not like I control how the thing shows itself…" Izuku muttered before dropping One for All, showing clear signs of stress from holding it. Nighteye hummed in thought, rubbing his chin as he took note of the exhaustion on Izuku's body.

"You think he needs to build up more muscle to handle the strain?" Nighteye asked, but Gran Torino waved it off as he walked away and picked up Makoda and held her in his arms before he sat on a chair and began to hum in thought.

"No. The boy is built well enough, trying to add more muscles is just asking for trouble with the exams only five months away." Gran Torino stated as he began to poke Makoda in the belly causing the girl to giggle at the touch. "No, for now, Izuku should work every day for about two hours trying to hold One for All, one hour for the morning and evening, for that entire hour while moving around and doing normal tasks. Let his body get used to the strain and build up the need to get used to the power coursing through them while learning control."

"I see…" Izuku muttered as he thought about how to plan his mornings from now on.

"You can walk to school with it on." Mina gave him a bright smile, giving Izuku a thought on how to control One for All. "Gunhead knows what everyone else knows about your quirk, so he can tell the other heroes on our route to keep an eye out for you."

"Huh, that's a good idea." Gran Torino agreed, allowing Makoda to suck on his finger without batting an eye at the giggles escaping from Inko and Mina. Toshinori rubbed his chin in thought before pulling his phone out to look up something.

"Just in case a nearby hero isn't nearby but an officer does catch Izuku using his quirk, I can probably get an exemption form for Izuku to show to the officer." Toshinori added, gaining a nod of approval from Nighteye.

"I was about to suggest the same thing. You will be allowed to use your quirk, but only for training purposes and not to perform heroic acts." Nighteye agreed with Toshinori before giving Izuku a warm smile. "You did well Izuku for learning how to control One for All, Toshinori is a good teacher."

Both Izuku and Toshinori looked away, refusing to look at Nighteye with shame. "What?"

"It wasn't those two who figured out how to use One for All, it was me." Mina chirped with a smug smile on her face."

"How did you figure it out?" Gran Torino asked, ignoring the drool that was spreading onto his costume as Makoda dug into his chest to get comfortable.

"Easy. Just look at Papa Toshi when he turns into Papa Might!" Mina cheered, only to receive blank looks from both Gran Torino and Nighteye. "Seriously?!"

"They're men, Mina. You learn that they tend to not think all that well to begin with." Inko said with a grin as she picked up Makoda and handed Gran Torino a towel to wipe himself clean of the drool.

"HEY!?"

UA Entrance Exam: 2 months

Toshinori smiled as he looked at the new certificate in his hand, Inko giving him a warm hug as she beam up at him with a large smile.

"Congratulations Toshi. You got it." Inko gave him a light kiss on the cheek.

"I'm just glad Nezu didn't see fit to announce that All Might got a Teacher's License." Toshinori rubbed his head at the thought.

"Would he?"

"Oh yeah he would if it amuses him." Toshinori sighed with a depressed air. Inko giggled a bit before leaning against him on the couch, Makoda was on a blanket on the floor, slowly crawling towards the toys, making a bee-line for a golden apple plushy she seemed determined to bite into.

Inko pulled out her phone and began to record, giggling as Makoda gave a loud laugh as she grabbed the plushy and put it in her mouth and began to nibble on it, much to Inko's delight. Toshinori pulled his own phone and began to skim through the news, but one caught his eye.

'Is All Might slowing down? The #1 Hero only seen for a few hours a day!'

He frowned at the title, but shrugged when he thought about it. It was about time to start thinking of retiring anyway and frankly only working three to four hours a day was better in the long run. Resting between each appearance extended the time limit he had in case of emergencies so that worked out in his favor too.

"How has Makoda been, considering she's been going to UA for the past couple of months?" Toshinori asked, looking towards his wife as she hummed a bit before answering.

"Oh you know how she is. She's really quiet a majority of the time, so she isn't annoying Recovery Girl, and she has been a big help for some classes too, at least for those looking into more rescue portions of heroics." Inko answered.

"She has?"

"Recovery Girl been teaching the students how to care for a child or baby who been hurt and having Makoda around to show how a child would react to heroes trying to care for them has been amusing, though Recovery Girl grumbles a bit as Makoda seem to look at the ones that are more monstrous in looks with a laugh and wanting upsies with those students. She's been a good girl for those classes, especially with Hado and your unofficial son." Inko giggled as Toshinori hung his head at the last part. Togata had been a good sport about the ribbing he was receiving from Inko about his appearance but seriously, even the news were making comments about it during the Sports Festival and it was getting rather annoying whenever someone brought it up that wasn't his family.

Inko gave a sigh before she gave a pout as she looked up to Toshinori, "Just don't send Aizawa to me in a body cast at the start of the year, even if the jerk deserved it."

That was another thing of Inko's time at UA she had gained, her utter contempt of one Shouta Aizawa, and had been butting heads with the Underground Hero for the past fives years and counting. She ranted about how unfair he was being, especially since he kicked out the entire 1-A at the start of the year and even then only half the class was filled back in. She found his 'logical' thinking to be a sham, and utterly lazy in not wanting to work hard in teaching students that gave up a lot to try and make it in the heroic course. Especially on their first day in the course, and considering she had to patch up many of those students that were getting into fights after the first couple of weeks since they were banished to General Studies was just icing on the cake. Inko grumbled as she stared ahead at nothing in particular, a scowl growing on her face.

"Inko?"

"Two more of the students that were expelled from the heroic course dropped out from UA." She answered after a moment, sighing as she rubbed her eyes. "They… had a lot of old scars when I helped patch them up from fights they got into, and they refuse to tell me where they come from…"

Toshinori grimaced at the sad look Inko had, it was clear she wanted to help the two students but since they dropped out, it was out of her hands.

"I really think this was their last chance to make a difference in their lives only for Aizawa to stomp all over it." Inko gritted her teeth as she turned to Toshinori. "There has to be a way to make that man be punished for this! He's ruining lives but whenever I bring it up he just goes 'They didn't have what it takes to make it in UA.' Or whatever baloney he thinks up to save his butt from backlash of his choice to expel students! I can understand if they are falling behind or just being bad students overall, but first day expulsion?! Seriously?!"

"Hmm…" he looked around the living room, staring at all the pictures lined the walls. He knew very well that both Izuku and Mina would not like Aizawa and his negativity; making a hero's life into the grueling, no appreciation, and the world is out to get you, kind of work. They know exactly how heroes worked, considering they know plenty of heroes and how they operate in and out of the public eye.

A small grin appeared on Inko's face as if she came up with the greatest plan ever to be conceived. "I have an idea!"

-Later-

"So you want us to upset the balance of power that Mr. Aizawa is going to try and have over us, because he is going to basically scare us into submission and threaten us with expulsion on the first day?" Izuku asked in a careful tone, Mina frowning at the description before looking towards Toshinori.

"Is that the way he thinks of being a hero is like?" Mina asked, with Toshinori sighing at this question before nodding.

"He has expelled one hundred and fifty-four possible hero applicants since he started." Toshinori stated, much to the shock of Izuku and Mina. "Make no mistake, he is a fine teacher, but if he thinks you have zero potential he will expel you on the spot."

"On the first day? Really!?" Mina cried out, shocked at this news. "But that's unfair!"

Inko scoffed at this. "His words for this are basically the same every year. 'The school's reputation for freedom goes to the teachers as well, including the freedom to expel students from the heroics course.' The asshole."

"Mom?!"

"What?! I have been dealing with the fallout of his stupid 'freedom to perform expulsion' for five years now. I'm allowed to curse the man out!" Inko scowled as she looked at the two before her. "I want you to make his first day hard, you two grew up around heroes so you know how it really works, so I know you two will chaff under his 'oh so positive reinforcement'. I'm just giving you two a heads up."

Both lowered their heads, knowing now how the man was, they would definitely not be all that cooperative with such a negative teacher. Both of them snapped their heads up when Inko clapped her hands, an evil smile on her face as she looked at the two.

"Now then, since I know how that man operates, if either of you two end up in his class, I know exactly how to ruin that man's day. Toshi, you will help them!"

"I am?"

"Yes!"

"What if neither one of us is in his class?" Izuku couldn't help but ask.

"Then don't worry about it! Now listen carefully, you three."

-UA Entrance-

Izuki stood in front of the gates of UA, a smile on his face as he stared up at the building with a look of confidence.

He has been training his entire life for this moment, this single moment to finally get to the starting line to become a hero. He trained his body to the limit, he learned skills that all the teachers, trainers, and heroes drilled into him growing up. He gained and learned to control the power that his father wields in the protection of others.

He wasn't alone either, turning to see Mina right beside him, a small smile on her face as she looked at the building before turning to Izuku with pride.

"This is it." She said quietly. "I… I hope big sis is proud of us… I know she would have been here, rooting us on."

"Yeah…" Izuku said quietly. "Today's the day…"

"Where we start our journey to become heroes."

UA Entrance Exam:

Start!

A/N: Hello everyone, welcome to the latest chapter for Revamp Beginnings.

We are here folks, the start of the Canon timeline and my ability to toss it into the trash begins too. I am glad everyone is understanding of what I went through for the past couple of years and now that I am back into writing form I hope to continue it.

I like to thank youalwayswereakiddersteve for giving me a boost in confidence and allowing me to bounce ideas off of them.

I hope people forgive me for taking certain liberty on All Might's past, but I couldn't find anything about his actual family so I just made up my own to fit the story.

As for baby Makoda, some of you might recognize her description so I can't wait to see what people think of her. She doesn't play a huge part, but she is going to have some part to play later on, just for fluff though, nothing serious. Might make Omakes for her future self just for laughs.

Thank you everyone, for reading my story. Comments are welcomed and if there are problems please let me know and I will try and fix them.

For those who also read on AO3, I will post this chapter at a later date as I am using my phone to post this (being a truck driver and all, currently stuck in Colorado) and it is a hassle to copy and paste. So if someone who also follows this story on AO3, please let them know and I will post as soon as I can.

Thank you, Red
