AN: I'm not too sure how this story will turn out but we'll see where it goes.
...
The first thing that went through Abbot's mind was what was going on? Contact was suddenly lost with the rest of the U.S at about 6:38 P.M as a bright white light covered the sky.
Minutes after the event videos were suddenly posted on the internet. The governor saw it himself from the Texas Capitol Building; he as with everybody else was confused at what was going on.
At 6:40 RADAR reports came in. Stating that the entire Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean could no longer be tracked or detected they were surrounded by nothing.
At 6:41 the bright white light that was above Texas disappeared and the sun was higher than it should've been. Soon afterwards nothing was happening, then RADAR reports came in that the Gulf of Mexico was smaller and a different shape even.
Followed by reports of roads leading out of the State were all suddenly cut off like someone cut a piece of a cake without considering the shape. Videos and pictures of Texarkana including its U.S Postal Service just abruptly cut in half. Its station, justice hall and other places were all cut in half. Across where the border with Arkansas would be was a small village police were beginning to investigate.
Along the Mexican-American Border Bridges were all cut in half as they crossed the Rio Grande leaving a massive cliff face that's thousands of feet deep. In other towns and cities along the Rio it wasn't as extreme but it was still bad they were all over 30 foot drop. In the Panhandle near the border with Oklahoma circle crops farms were all cut in half as they crossed State borders.
In other places such as Eastern Texas where the border followed the Sabine River not much is known about the lands there but probably isn't as good as what's going elsewhere.
"Texas-Arkansas " Border Texarkana Texas
20:05 hours
Deputy Liam, and his patrol SUV went down the dirt road that led to a small town or village of sorts where the border with Arkansas existed, now replaced with grasslands after driving for a few minutes reached the border of the small town. People looked at the Texarkana police vehicles in shock like they were aliens.
"Hey Sheriff, should we get out of the cars or wait for SWAT to arrive?" Deputy Liem asked.
The Sheriff answered, "We're going to try to make small talk with locals and wait for reinforcements."
He turned on his radio, "All units converge on our location. One Mile east of the Louisiana-Texas border. Send the call to surrounding towns for reinforcements if possible. We will be entering the unknown town." The Sheriff said.
The radio crackled in response "10-4"
"Alright Deputy you got the shotgun in case anything happens?"
"Yes sir I do." Deputy Liem responded.
"Alright let's go keep the gun down let me do the talking." The Sheriff ordered.
"Yes sir." The Sheriff and Deputy left their car and were met with a small crowd.
"Hello there. I am Sheriff Benjamin. I would like to meet with your town's leaders." The Sheriff said.
But everybody just stared at the sheriff like he's insane or something.
They were all quietly talking with each other about something in a language they didn't understand.
Soon yelling was heard and the crowd separated revealing a pair of men with long wooden bolt action rifles who wore a gray uniform and with leather pick hats. One of the two men came up to the Sheriff talking In an unknown language he couldn't understand.
"Sorry sir. I don't understand what you're saying." Benjamin responded, the man, clearly a soldier, brought up his rifle repeating what he said before this time louder.
In Response Liem brought up his shotgun and cocked it chambering in a shell while Benjamin brought out his service pistol. The second soldier brought up his own rifle. There was a tense standoff as the two officers slowly moved back towards their SUV.
Several more cars showed up and after seeing the situation immediately rushed out with guns and body armor. Soon more soldiers of the unknown group appeared with their own rifles in hand. Things boiled over when an officer of Texarkana opened fire due to anxiety; he didn't exactly hit anyone but it prompted the unknown soldiers to respond.
Soon a fire fight erupted between the two sides as the officers took cover behind their car doors while the Leifor soldiers took cover behind the houses. Soon a dozen more soldiers appeared forcing the Officers to retreat.
The Leiforian soldiers got on their horses and gave chase to the police officers. The officers arrived at Texarkana. Dozens of civilians were inside the buildings as cover with their own guns along with then was the SWAT team and several of their MRAPs which were in lines heavy armament at the ready.
"Hey Officer what's going on!" A veteran asked who quickly took cover behind his car. His question was answered via guns being sent to the towns direction and they attempted to flank them and get out MRAPs machine guns field of fire.
The Leiforians brought out their own machine guns and laid suppressing fire onto the MRAPs and other troops. The SWAT team and Texarkana PD began being reinforced by gun owning citizens who joined the fight. After minutes of back and forth the Leiforian Soldiers were forced to retreat as they took heavy casualties. Everybody thought the fight was over and let their guard down. When suddenly the ground exploded right in front of the armored vehicle.
Above in the skies of a large lizard-like animal with fire coming out its mouth. A squadron of them were circling the town. The Texan forces were forced to retreat into the cover of town to not get burned immediately by the flying lizards attacks. The SWAT team's armored car turned its heavy machine gun on the wyvern while the firefighters tried their best to put out the flames that were now ravaging the town.
Then suddenly the wyverns that were harassing the defenders exploded into fiery explosions as several F-16C and Ds from the Texan Air national Guard arrived gaining immediate air superiority.
The battle of Texarkana is over for now.
Lackland Air Base San Antonio
03:25 hours June 10th
An SR-71 "Blackbird" Taxied onto the runway of Lackland air base. Reports have been coming in that an unknown group of people have made attempts to invade eastern Texas over State borders along the former state border. In response the National Guard and US military began making sorties to investigate these airspace and border "violations".
The SR-71 Blackbird was rushed back into service at 19:00 hours as it was needed for aerial reconnaissance on the surrounding areas especially in the East. As Texas lost contact with the Satellite network around Earth. It was the only plane that was made for reconnaissance.
It quickly began to speed up as it sped down the runway before gaining lift. It began a quick and hasty climb towards its operating altitude. The Cold War spy quickly reached its top speed of Mac three and and within 30 minutes it arrived at the "Texas-Louisiana" border. It took pictures of the terrain with a high powered camera. For many hours it was making a satellite map.
It followed the coast of this unknown continent. It went undetected for its entire trip giving the military much vital terrain information.
At Texarkana Elements of the 136th Infantry Regiment arrived to reinforce the city along with the 176th Engineer Brigade as the 36th began to reinforce the border at other key points amongst the Texan Border. The 149th Fighter began to perform Air interception as RADAR systems detected airspace violations all over the Eastern border. Within hours Texas gained air superiority against the Leiforians local national Guard.
Other US Army units arrived at the border to prevent any more invaders till further orders arrived.
Texas Capital Building, Austin
09:03 hours June 10th
"How is the situation at the border?" Abbot asked, for the past 7 hours Governor Greg Abbot had been receiving constant reports on the skirmishes that had been erupting all along the former Texas-Louisiana for the past 12 hours.
He tried to get as much sleep as possible but there was a constant amount of information being sent to him. He was now on his tenth cup of coffee of the day.
"Currently the Air Force has been running sorties and aerial reconnaissance; there's been a constant stream of air space violations. An SR-71 Blackbird at Lackland air base which was rushed into service at around 7 in the evening took off at 3:25 A.M. Its reconnaissance mission should be ending soon and we're going to get a rough satellite map of the surrounding regions." Major General Suelzer reported.
The Governor merely nodded in response in his wheelchair.
"At about 22:00 hours several F-16s from the 149th Fighter Squadron bagan air support and air superiority missions at your presets, Governor. The 36th Infantry regiment arrived at the border and began defending the Texas-Arkansas border. At about 07:00 the 1st Cavalry Division arrived at the Texas-Louisiana border near Longview."
"This is a mess. What's the situation in the Panhandle and West?" Abbot asked.
"Nothing much sir except for a 3000 foot drop. Where Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Mexico would be, it's just a cliff face and ocean." Suelzer reported.
"Mobilize our reserves and send out the draft call to all veterans. I want to increase our military size by 150000 by the end of the month." Governor Abbot ordered, "I'm going to make an address to the state."
"Yes, Governor."
Leiforia, Prime Ministers Palace, Federal Republic of Leifor
19/07/1638
Prime Minister Vladimir Abdulaev Abisov entered the meeting room of his cabinet and everyone was present by requirement.
The Prime minister always came slightly late so his ministers had time to convene, and prepare their documents.
Sitting down at his seat on the end of the table on the other side of the room. Signaling the meeting, the minister of state started first.
"Prime Minister, we've been informed that an unknown group has violated our territory." Minister of State Yury Aijo said.
"Territorial violations, when did this happen?" Prime Minister Abusov asked.
"Just last night sir, the Garrison requested a plea for reinforcements. This is the report from Colonel Nikolay Baranov: "An unknown group of armed men entered the town and couldn't speak a lick of Asheran. They all got mad and started to shoot at the garrisoning troops resulting in a fire fight. The unknown assailants retreated in a large truck.
The Garrison mounted their horses and took chase after the assailants where they were led to a town which was fiercely defended by the locals. They also seem to be in possession of Mirishial Circuit Guns or Muish Machine Guns. Along with some form of an armored vehicle the troops had no choice to pull back or take too many casualties.
Local Wyvern troops responded to their call and began giving them close air support. It isn't known what happened to the Wyvern as they never returned from the mission."
"Why wasn't I awakened when you got this information?" Abisov asked.
"Well Prime Minister we were informed about this only 30 minutes ago it seemed that Governor Iktor Alexander purposely kept the information away from the capital."
The Prime Minister thought over this for a moment before realizing "wait what form of communication did this come in from?"
"Train sir. Is there an issue?"
"Yes there is and it's big. They didn't hide information from us but simply because they couldn't send the signals. Minister of War Gagarin, mobilize the grand army! We're getting invaded!"
"Yes sir. And you?"
"I'll let the Senate, and people know what's going on."
