Leiforian Embassy Otaheit, United Realms and Dominion of Mu
19:54 hours, 31/07/1639
Prime Minister Jacque Adams was confused. For the past week unconfirmed reports were coming out of Leifor. An unknown force launched an invasion with dizzying speed. Within the first day they gained almost 100 kilometers of Leifor, that's when things start to become even more fuzzy as most of this information was in fact from the first day.
Their Air Force was also bombed to oblivion by the unknown Air Force including their Navy according to some eyewitness reports ten of Leifors Dreadnoughts, 34 Cruisers, and 64 Destroyers were destroyed. Their coastal submarine fleet was untouched either because they didn't notice them or they weren't much of a threat to them currently.
The unknown force had tanks and planes which meant they were equivalent in technology to Mu. But their planes were odd; they were faster than even the Imperials' new Alpha 4 planes. They also had the ability to fire guided missiles, something Mirishials is having trouble developing due to the missile's radar or heat seeking would malfunction and go to places they didn't want.
Suggesting they were even more advanced than the Imperials. Their tanks were noted to be extremely fast, being reported to be large, potentially over 60 tons. Their weaponry also were capable of tearing through Leifors SK-3s Male armor which was equivalent to a dreadnoughts.
Their troops held anti-tank weaponry that could punch through the armor as well. This was why he was meeting the Leiforian diplomat Mu to figure out what the hell was going on with their neighbor. If it meant a weaker Leiforia they could steam roll past and be one step closer to reuniting the Muish continent that was invaded and divided the continent amongst the natives all those thousands of years ago.
"We ourselves don't know what's happening in Leifor there's so much confusion on the radio and sometimes the messages just don't come through." The Leiforian diplomat explained.
Jacque thought this over for several moments it was clear they were using electronic warfare. The Muish military was investigating its uses but to see it actually used in combat was something else.
There was also the fact that even the Muish had radio problems at first the military assumed it was just the annual solar storms messing with the radio waves. The issue was they were too consistent, also were way longer than the usual several hour long blackout. Where it lasted for the entire week while Leifor was being invaded.
It was at that moment when a messenger came into the meeting room. Panting it was clear he hadn't had much of a break.
"Diplomat Molotov we've gotten word that the capitol has been bombed!" The runner reported.
"How old is this information?" Molotov asked.
"It's from the 26th of this month sir." The runner answered.
"Of course it is. Tell me what are the losses?" Molotov asked, Jacque to remain silent.
"The flagship FNS Leiforia along with several dozen capital ships, and hundreds of screen ships have all been sunk. Mana detectors and RADAR systems were also destroyed in the attack. According to the reports it would take months if not years for the fleet to be recovered. Along with the entire Air Force we've lost at least 30 air wings since the 26th. Along with that from what we've last heard, 10 divisions were annihilated by a mere 2 divisions. We expect those numbers to be higher by now."
The runner reported.
Molotov was shocked while Jacque sat there in silence. Shocked and relieved, Jacque was glad that the Leiforian threat had been neutralized. The Prime Minister knew it would take months to years for their Air Force to recover. At least half the year for their army to recover those ten divisions depending on how they place their training of their new divisions.
Out of their initial 55 divisions more than a fifth was annihilated by air power alone. He was terrified of their power and also an opportunity to rid the Muish continent of any direct Imperial influence in the form of Leifor. Thing was they were becoming more mechanical after realizing sometime in the past decades. 1600 that magic can't be used for everything especially since their population is in fact majority Muish and as such lack the magical capabilities of their ancestors from other continents.
So their reliance on magic based weaponry was becoming less prevalent. This became noticeable when Leifor developed a combustion engine using oil in 1621. They sidelined the Wyvern Overlord program in favor of the VN program, their first fixed winged aircraft.
It was clear Leifor was weakened greatly from this short but devastating invasion from the alien country that masterminded this. Were they the Ancient Sorcerers? Unlikely they would've steamrolled across Leifor and then to Mu and the rest of the world. But this unknown group showed moderation and only wiped out the opposition that showed itself.
"I must leave and discuss this with my cabinet. Apologies, men." Jacque said before leaving the Leiforian embassy.
When Prime Minister Jacque Adams arrived in his cabinet's office. His entire cabinet of course was there as he had called them from their homes. The Prime Minister took a seat at his spot at the front of the table.
"Are you all aware of the invasion of Leifor from an unknown force?" There were nods throughout the room from his ministers as a few minutes before he arrived they were all briefed on the matter at hand. "Good, as such you are all aware of what this entails, correct?" As expected everybody thought an invasion of Leifor was possible, not a bloody one but it wasn't something the Prime Minister wanted. Especially under a democratic society like this one, even if they are a parliamentary Monarchy with an elected Prime Minister and House of Commons. The king of the Muish, and nobility especially still held considerable power equal to that of the Prime Minister and the House of Commons.
"Good, Minister John, make attempts to contact this unknown nation that attacked Leifor. Figure out why they attacked, whether it be out of confusion or something else we must ally with them to get access to their knowledge and give them everything they ask for. More than likely they already have better stuff than us already but be prepared to hand them documents about any subject they ask for and our current knowledge." Minister of Foreign affairs Louis John III nodded at the Prime Minister at his orders.
"General Bonaparte, have the army amass at the border strong arm our neighbors to get our stationed there if possible. I want Leifor surrounded on the land by the end of the year. Having our flagship fleets stationed at ports closest to Leifor we will need to mop up whatever screen ships they have built in that time. Have the Air Corp start deploying our newest planes onto the assembly lines when development is finished, I want our Air Corp to have the biggest advantage possible.
When contact is done with the unknown nation and relation building is finished, ask them for access to their ports and potentially their air facilities if possible. If they say no, don't demand anything else. Accept their stance and we'll make due with what we have at that point." The Prime Minister ordered, the General nodded.
"Minister Taylor begins making preparations to war economy mode as soon as we can. We need as many factories to help out with the war effort." Economic Minister Gabriel Taylor nodded at his orders.
"Good shall we get the party started now?" The Prime Minister asked, finally after 10000 years of constant invasions the Muish continent can finally be United under the true realm of Mu.
Royal Palace, Pricilla Paganda
20:05 31/07/1638
King of Paganda Pedro Maximilian's IV was confused, recently their Suzereign Leifor was attacked by an unknown force for the entire week. The Leiforian diplomat had no clue what was going on the mainland. One thing that is for sure is that the Leiforian military had been soundly destroyed from what little information they were able to get. it was clear that the Leiforians had lost their super power status and an unknown force had arrived in the second civilization region.
"God, is this true?" The king asked in disbelief they wouldn't stand a chance against this nation if they were in fact hostile. "Anyways looks like we have a new Suzereign on the chopping block. Begin making preparations for a delegation to this new country. We won't survive without the protection of a more powerful nation. Considering Mu is more than likely making preparations to invade Leifor currently. Even if this information is even half correct. Hell 30% of the military is terrible even with 60 divisions at minimum. The Air Force losses are a non issue, planes can't bring the fire power of artillery even if they are faster. They're mostly good for scouting and that's all." The king said his generals and ministers agreed.
"They probably lost to overwhelming artillery power, we should be expecting a lot of unexplored shells." The General of the army Antonio Lopéz said.
"Yes but that doesn't explain how Leifor lost over 50% of their flagship fleets which are some of the most powerful in the world." High Admiral Santa Anna said.
"Most likely coastal submarines we've already determined the use of Submarines attack on capital ships would be extremely effective. Most likely they had high powered torpoedos that were able to sneak up onto the Leiforian Navy. Most likely this invasion had been planned for months and only recently executed. It isn't anything new just using different technology. I myself have seen these kinds of tactics already implemented by the Parpaldians despite their inferior technology." Minister of Foreign Affairs Diez answered.
"You're correct about that, something doesn't sound right about these reports though. There were no submarines spotted. Granted if they weren't spotted that meant they were successful, but the crews of the Leiforian fleets would've seen the trails left in the wake of the torpedoes. They would've attempted to dodge the torpedoes assuming they weren't in port that is." High Admiral Anna concluded.
"The problem is we couldn't tell what the Leiforian Navy was doing at the time the bombings reports were odd. Eyewitness reports stated they were at sea performing training maneuvers. Others say they were at port restocking on supplies and fuel when they were attacked." Supreme General Lopéz said.
"Either way it's clear our Suzerain can't be trusted to : come to our aide when we are in a time of crisis." King Pedro said.
