Leiforian-Muish border
16/08/1638
The sounds of trucks, Marin Monoplanes, and Ciel Bombers filled the air as they landed at the Fowler airbases at the border. The usual garrison troops that would be stationed on the border were originally only 30,000 troops. But in the past month it ballooned up to 150,000 troops as Mu gathered all of their strength for an invasion of Leifor. In the next month or two it'll balloon up to nearly 750,000 troops when the invasion was expected to begin.
With the infantry were 458 Rapide Light Tanks which held a singular 50mm cannon, one Dure Gunpowder Heavy Machine Gun. It was operated by 3 crew members: a driver, a gunner and a commander. The Rapide had 2 mm thick armor and a top speed of 20 kilometers an hour. It was around 2 meters long and 1.5 meters wide making it a very cramped tank.
With them was also 205 Miliue Medium Tanks which held a singular rotating main gun 75 mm cannon, another secondary 50 mm cannon right below the 75 mm. Two Dure Gunpowder Heavy Machine Gun one next to the main gun and another next to the secondary. It held 4 crew members, a driver, a gunner, a driver, and a commander. The Milue had 5 mm armor, and a top speed of 18 kilometers an hour, Milie Medium Tank was 4 meters long and 2 meters wide it in fact held enough space for their own sleeping quarters although that didn't happen and more ammunition was put in there.
There were also 53 Incassable Heavy Tanks which held 1 rotation 150 mm main cannon, and 4 75 mm cannons placed on the side giving it full on protection from both front and back. It had 5 Dure Heavy Machine Guns one next to the main turret 4 with the 75 mm cannons. It held 7 crew members, 1 driver, 5 gunners, 1 commander. It came in at about 10 meters long and 5 meters wide. It was a very big tank to the point where there's a small rest area next to the center where members could take turns napping. The Incassable as with its size was very heavy like the Leiforian Landships, it had thick armor as it was 10 mm thick.
The Marin Fighters were of Monoplane design, but those would be quickly phased out as the newest fighter design was jet powered. Although still experimental, the Muish military experienced a major materials breakthrough that could survive the extreme temperatures needed for a jet engine to work. But they weren't wide spread yet so the Marin had to do all the work.
Commanders checked their spell books and chose the spells they needed. Which was volley it'll unleash a volley of magical equivalent to artillery shells. Which would devastate an enemy along narrow areas.
The remaining troops and police at the border saw unusually large amounts of Muish troops. Omar's miles away from the border are marked by cut trees and a five foot tall stone wall that surrounded the roads leading into the country.
What surrounded the border was a series of complex trenches that stretched for miles on end from the coast near Curson all the way down towards the Harunaga-Muish border near Arou. It was extremely complex to the point that if the Leiforians wanted to invade it would be extremely difficult and bloody. Even with Tanks it would be a pain for any invading force as mud will make it difficult for the tanks to move.
"In the name of the Gods. How many troops are there?" One of the border guard members asked.
"I have no clue about a few thousand. A couple of weeks ago it was only a few hundred." Another responded.
"Should we inform the capital about this?" The previous member asked.
"Tried, no message can get through, the air waves are Jammed. Even the telegrams aren't responding. Something is happening and it isn't good."
Deck of Dreadnought Kasami, Sea of Kalani 200 miles off the coast of Sonal
14:08 16/08/1638
Diplomat Sir Louis Bertie was sent on a mission to contact the unknown group who invaded the Federation of Leifor. For the past two weeks the ship Kasami and her small escorts of Destroyers and armored cruisers have been sailing along the coast to find the land these unknown forces invaded from.
Currently they were nearing what was essentially the end of Sonal Maritime waters. And we're about to cross into what should be Leifors waters. If they didn't see anything they'll resupply at Sonal ports and head out to sea.
If they do find the mainland of this unknown group they'll contact them or they'll find Kasami and her small fleet first. Whatever works.
Then suddenly a plane flew overhead at high speeds. Before it circled around again and slowed down. It bore a flag of Red White and Blue with stars in the blue. It was a grayish black aero plane . Louis was only able to observe it for a second before it disappeared over the horizon.
"What was that?" Sailors were visibly shaken by the shock wave the alien plane made.
The bridge was equally confused as they didn't even detect the plane on Radar. Not only that, the interference from an unknown source was playing hell with the Kasami's Radar systems. Then the interference ended and they detected the unknown object clearly.
It was at that moment the radio crackled to life and a person speaking an unknown language began to speak.
"You are entering American maritime waters, turn your ship around or we will attack." The person on the radio said, nobody understood what they said but it was clearly a threat so the ships stopped and anchored down.
Louis was called up to the bridge and was met with a visibly stumped captain.
"Captain." Louis said.
"Sir Berie, have you seen the unknown aero plane as well? And heard what they said." The Captain asked.
"Yes I have, I didn't understand a single word of what they said."
"It's clearly an order to stay put or they will attack."
"So we're staying put?" The Diplomat asked.
"For now until they come and meet us." The Captain said.
"So we're staying put for how long?"
"I have no clue. Sir Bertie until they come and meet us first that is."
Several hours past where nothing of note happened when several ships were spotted approaching the small fleet.
"How many ships are there?" The Captain asked.
"Only 3 sir!" A spotter responded.
"3? How large are they?"
"About 43 meters sir. I spotted a single main gun. It's a small cannon, potentially 30 mm, maybe smaller. With what appears to be crew machine guns, most likely LMGs of sorts." The spotted reported.
"Are they the same for each ship?"
"Yes from what I can tell from each of the ships they seem to hold the same load out." Reported the sailors.
"Most likely coast guard ships keep an eye out for any larger ships." The Captain ordered.
Coast Guard Sentinel Class Ship Daniel Tarr
16:32 July 7th
Captain Pedro Gutierrez looked through his binoculars at the large ship several hundred yards away. It clearly held massive guns, large enough to sink the Daniel in a single shot.
"Is that a battleship? Hey Captain, we should turn around and let the Air Force handle this. I'm used to fighting damn Narco subs, not damn battleships." Said private John.
"Look, our mission here is to make contact. That's why we have a linguist with us. Start the engine back up and have the other ships on standby." Captain Guittirez ordered.
"Yes sir." John merely responded.
The Daniel Tarr and her sisters lurched forward towards the battleship and her escorts. The alien ships stayed still while their crew bounced around flashing signals towards them. It was clearly Morse code whether they understood it was another question.
"Have you been able to translate what they're saying?" Gutierrez asked.
"Nope, not a thing. It is Morse code but none of it is making sense. It's clearly using a language but I have no clue what they're trying to say sir." John answered.
"As expected, let's get into speaking range. Continue on." Gutierrez ordered.
The coast guard flotilla continued towards the larger ships. The Daniel Tarr and her sisters stopped several feet away from the starboard of the largest ship. Crew members in sailor uniforms were waving at them and released a ladder for the men on the coast guard ships.
"What are they saying?" Asked the captain towards the linguist.
"They are clearly asking us to get up there Captain." The Linguist responded flatly.
"Of course." He grabbed onto the ladder and hoisted himself up while muttering to himself "they released a ladder and waved at us clearly telling us to come up."
When Pedro reached the top of the ladder and hoisted himself up onto the deck. He was surrounded by dozens of sailors as a massive triple barreled 18 in gun aimed off proudly towards the seemingly endless sea.
The group was speaking in an unknown language he didn't understand. When a person in a crisp black and white tuxedo came out with a mug in one hand and another mug in his other hand.
He held out the mug in his left hand with what appeared to be tea. He said something then looked disappointed when Pedro didn't respond. He said something else several times before saying "¿Quieres té, buen muchacho?" Pedro understood what he said.
Which meant "Do you want tea, good lad?" In English.
"Sí suena bien." (Yes sounds good.)
