Harry POV:

I could barely believe it. They were both there, alive, right at the front of the hall. "I know you all thought we both died, but no cause for alarm," Dumbledore said, assuring the crowd. "It's a joyous day. Let's get the sorting done. Professor McGonagall, please read the list," I barely listened to Professor McGonagall as I was still trying to make sense of the whole situation. People I thought were dead, weren't? A thought struck me. If they were back maybe...I looked to Dumbledore who was at his respective position at the centre of a long wooden table. We met each other's eyes, Dumbledore shook his head sadly.

Soon, the sorting was complete, and all the first years were in one of the four houses: Slytherin, which was where Malfoy was, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor where I was. The old hat on the stool decided which house you belonged in. The houses were an important part of Hogwarts. The house which you'd be placed in determines several things of your life at the school. Sometimes, even relationships would depend on the houses. The Slytherin house produced more dark wizards than any other house, even now, despite the battle over, students still could find it difficult to trust someone from Slytherin.

Dumbledore stood up again. "I have another announcement. This year, just to help settle things down, we will not have prefects nor Head girls and Boys,"

"However, that doesn't mean you can break the rules," Professor Snape snapped.

"Quite right," Dumbledore agreed, giving a laugh, "But there's something else I must say. We have some new students coming. They attended an American wizarding school called CHB, and I wish you would treat them like you would anyone from Hogwarts." I didn't think I could handle any more announcements from Dumbledore. I'd hoped that his seventh year would be calmer, but now that wish seemed so wistful; when was anything calm in my life? There was always something. Battling a dark lord. Joining a secret organization. Accidentally blowing up your aunt.

Dumbledore continued, "They have certain traditions from their school they still need to uphold so please don't disrespect those actions. Their school also taught other subjects differently than yours so if they have any trouble with subjects, please help them. Now please welcome the new students!" The front doors opened. Three students walked in. One had windswept dark hair, his eyes sea green. Another was a girl with blond hair and striking grey eyes. The final was shorter than the two and looked younger. He was pale, with messy black hair, and kept fiddling with a skull ring on his finger. I blinked, did I see that right? The girl nudged one of the boys and he immediately stopped fiddling with the ring.

Percy POV:

A stern woman whom we had learnt was called Professor McGonagall began calling out our names. "Chase, Annabeth," Annabeth walked to the stool and sat down as Professor McGonagall placed the hat on her head. Not too long after it cried out for the hall to hear "RAVENCLAW!" Annabeth walked over to a table where there was a lot of blue. I pursed my lips, I had forgotten about the sorting.

"Di Angelo, Nico," Nico sulked to the stool where the hat was placed on his head like Annabeth, after a few moments it screamed, "SLYTHERIN!" Nico walked over to a table with lots of green sitting down in a space between two wizards. "Jackson, Perseus," I did the same as my two friends did before me and sat down on the stool as the hat was placed on my head. Immediately there was a voice in my head speaking. Oh, another demigod. I almost fell off the stool, the hat talks? I see I see, you could be in Hufflepuff, after all, loyalty is your fatal flaw, but ultimately the choice must be GRYFFINDOR!" I made eye contact with Annabeth and Nico.

I sat down at the Gryffindor table in the space between a boy with messy brown hair, glasses, green eyes, and...a lightning bolt scar. I racked my brain for who he was. I had briefly skimmed Modern Magical History before the sorting and I was sure I had read about him before. "You're Molde Short!" I said. Everyone stared at me. I slapped my forehead, that was the guy he killed. Must've gotten quite the shock when I said that. I chuckled nervously, and stretched out a hand, "Sorry, remembered the wrong name. You're Henry Dotter, right?"

"It's Harry Potter," Harry corrected, uncertainly shaking my hand. "Welcome to Gryffindor,"

"Percy Jackson. Thanks," I said, inwardly berating myself, I was so stupid.

Soon food flourished on the tables. Steaks, Risotto, it seemed like a hundred chefs just popped in and placed their entire menus on the tables. I took a plate of risotto and looked around. "Annabeth," I whispered. She turned around, as I mouthed sacrifices to her. She nodded and nudged her head to the grand door we entered through. Of course, Chiron got Dumbledore to make certain arrangements for us. At each side of the doors was a small space containing fire. Usually, at camp, we'd decide by the neatness of our cabins but since we didn't have cabin inspection I guess it didn't matter who went before who here. Here. A school for witches and wizards, I still could barely believe it. Annabeth, Nico and I got up from our seats together, each with a plate of food and headed to the end of the hall. I felt all eyes on us, as we made our way down. We each took turns burning the food as we whispered our prayers.

"Why did you burn the food?!" A red-headed student with freckles asked as I sat back down at the Gryffindor table. "Tradition. Didn't Dumbledore tell you?" I responded. The redhead stopped talking and went back to eating, though I could tell he still was confused.

Soon the feast was finished and everyone began heading back to their respected houses, the hall turning empty quickly. I ran to Nico. "How are we supposed to talk to one another if we're in different houses?" I asked. Nico opened his mouth to say something but stopped when Hermione Granger, another student from Gryffindor, approached us, standing next to me. "We need to go, Percy," She looked over to Nico, who turned his head slowly, facing her more directly, his eyes half-opened. "Um,"

"Yes?" Nico asked.

"Di Angelo!" Nico turned his head not too much before a blond-haired boy came over and placed his arm around Nico's neck, "What are you doing with Granger here?"

"I-" Nico barely could reply before the other Slytherin steered him away from us, talking about his experiences at Hogwarts, and about students that he didn't get along with. I turned to Hermione, "Who was that?"

"Draco Malfoy," Hermione said, her nose wrinkling, "Let's go to the common room,"

Harry POV:

Soon, Ron, Hermione and I were the only ones left in the Gryffindor common room, everyone else had turned in. "I don't remember Hogwarts accepting any other students from other schools," Hermione said, "And especially not a CHB,"

"Maybe this is new. There's a lot of new things happening like how Dumbledore and Snape…" I found myself unable to say the rest, nonetheless, Hermione and Ron understood what I meant. "This can't be a coincidence," Hermione stated, "They come back from the dead the same year these students come,"

"Maybe not, but I think we should calm down. We spent most of our years at Hogwarts worrying about anything we found suspicious, perhaps we should just let this go. They're just exchange students, What's the trouble?" I said.

"Every time we investigated something in the past, our suspicions were correct! Ron, what do you think?"

"They burned the food! As tradition! What school does that?"

"Theirs apparently." Hermione said, "But the students themselves seem peculiar. Like Percy, he got you-know-who's name wrong, and yours too Harry,"

"It's okay. I'm probably not as famous in America, and Hermione, you don't need to say you-know-who anymore. It's just Voldemort and he's dead, for real this time,"

"Everyone thought it was real last time, but no,"

"The Horcruxes are gone," Ron said, "He's gone,"

"Fine. Let's go back to the students. I feel strange saying this," Hermione shuddered, "but the one with the black hair, he scares me."

I gave a nod, thinking back to Nico, how he was fiddling with a skull ring, how the temperature seemingly dropped when he entered, and that he was placed in...Slytherin. I shook my head, "I think we still should treat them normally. They may be different, but we're all wizards, we have that in common. We need to get to know them more,"
