Author's Note.
Been thinking about it. I'm not sure I even like the idea of pairing Louise and Sasuke. It was an automatic no when I came up with this. 1st, the age gap, 2nd the characters themselves, and lastly, my own ability to even right a pairing.
Only two trains of thought lead me to believing a SasukexLouise pairing could even work. And both ideas suck. So 99% sure this isn't a pairing fic, maybe if I picked a different point in Sasuke's life, like, right after Itachi is killed, but before obito talks to him. That would of made a pairing make a bit more sense in my head.
And assuming I maintain this story, the pace is going to be slow. I'm busy sure, my college major can be a bit intense, but I do 1k chapters. This does not take up much of any of my time, and I enjoy it. The pace is going to be slow, because I have no desire to rush to big plot points. Which means, if I screw up, I might artificially change the time table for events, for my convenience, sue me.
This won't count towards my 1k bare minimum
Sakura wasn't hopeless. She didn't train hard enough, her priorities weren't in order, and she didn't think like a ninja. Yet, she wasn't hopeless. She understood that results required hard work, she understood the value in knowledge, she listened to her sensei, she went about things ass backwards, but she wanted and tried to be better. Maybe respect is too strong of a word, but Sasuke had a soft spot for Sakura and her inefficiencies.
Sasuke was now thoroughly confused. Louise claimed to be the most academic of her peers. And yet had no work effort. Was two uses of magic exhausting? He assumed she had power to spare, why else would her control be so bad? But maybe he was making too many assumptions. He needed to figure out every detail of this new power. As things are now, he's a sitting duck.
Can't use justu when he doesn't know if they'll notice. Can't take that risk when he has no clue how strong everyone is. He knew he could deal with Louise, she proved herself to be deserving of the title zero. That only applied to her. She was an exception. How strong were the other students? The teachers? The headmaster? The rest of the country? Could he find allies beyond just Louise? Was her family truly worth the hassle? Too much. Just too much to consider. Sasuke was stumped. Was he going to have reason to worry about his episode earlier?
"Oh, my lord, is there something I can do for you" Sasuke looked the black haired maid in the eyes.
He had been trying to get a layout of the academy. Recognizing that there was a real possibility that he would eventually hit restricted places. This didn't seem to be one of them.
The maid's eyes widened as she actually paid attention.
The one from the kitchen.
"You have time to show me around the school?" She seemed taken aback. Though, wasn't slow to respond.
"Of course , my lord." She's having a hard time covering her panic. Louise did a number on her.
"If you'll excuse me a moment." This thing is starting to bug me. I'm going to snap if I keep ignoring it. I turn swiftly while activating my sharingan. A mouse. Why is a mouse following me? It scurries away at my glare. A familiar, no doubt. I hate this place. I turn back to face the maid, ready to turn off my eyes.
Oh?
I grin.
"My lord?" She questions.
"Simply noticing how stunning you are, that's all." She smiles, giving me thanks, fake. Doesn't matter.
Chakra. Why does she have chakra, and who else has it? It's not showing how I'm used to it, when I see civilians, but I'm sure it's chakra.
"What is your name?"
"Siesta."
No family name. Or she simply didn't tell it to me. That's fine. Yet another thing I have to look into.
"Siesta, let's start. Show me everything this school has to offer."
"I'm telling you Tabitha, that familiar of Louise's is nothing but trouble. Makes me wonder why Louise is such a failure, if she can summon something like that." Zerbst tried to explain to her blue haired friend.
Tabitha remained silent, reading her book. Her familiar was in the air, enjoying the rushing winds.
"Well, I say that's no way to treat a lady. Maybe I should show that creature a thing or two." Guiche didn't notice the dead stares everyone present sent him.
"Sure, go teach that demon a thing or two, Guiche. I give you two seconds before your screaming louder than Louise did when he snatched her." Malicorne started a wave of laughter.
"Perhaps teaching her familiar a lesson would be foolish, but I wouldn't scream, for I am a gentleman." Guiche pseudo admits.
"Well, Louise is over there, but I don't see a familiar anywhere in sight." Montmorency was pointing right at the distraught pinky.
"Oh, she looks miserable. Maybe her demon ran away?" Zerbst stated.
"My Verðandi would never abandon me!" Guiche declared, embracing his mole familiar. Louise was close enough to hear. And her embarrassed anger was clear to see.
"Why don't you mind your own business, Guiche!" Louise was trembling. Zerbst couldn't tell if it was in rage, or if she was close to tears.
"What happened, Vallière?" Zerbst asked.
"Leave me alone you cow!"
"How ignoble, Louise." Montmorency scoffed.
"What's ignoble, is your panty sniffing boyfriend. I have places to be." Louise huffed, taking her leave.
"My, oh my, little Louise. Your familiar must of realized his master was a perfect zero." Zerbst laughed. Tabitha closed her book and walked away. Zerbst spared her a glance, but quickly refocused on Louise.
I hate her! I hate him! I hate all of them! My grip on my wand gets tight, my nails biting into my hand. It hurts, but has nothing on my heart ache.
"Don't you have anything better to do? Like your 100th play mate for today?"
"Don't you have better things to be jealous about, little Louise? Don't focus so much on my womanly charms, you'll grow into your own, eventually."
"Ladies, ladies, let us calm ourselves, and behave like proper nobles." Guiche's annoying voice rang.
"Shut up!" Zerbst shouted
"Stay out of it" I demanded.
Guiche smiles nervously, before turning his head. His face pales.
"Well, my dear Montmorency, since we aren't welcome, why don't we have some alone time?" Guiche gets pushy with the blonde. I narrow my eyes and turn my head. That 1st year everyone keeps acting like they know nothing about. I grin.
"What are you running from , Guiche?" I ask. Zerbst gives me a look, but then seems to notice what is happening, she laughs.
"Nothing, you clearly don't want us around so..." Guiche gulps.
"Guiche, there you are!" A happy 1st year girl declares. Montmorency frowns.
"How long have you worked here?" I ask the maid. We are near some windows by the outside gathering area.
"For a couple of years. It's a wonderful opportunity." Somewhat genuine.
I glance outside the window, Louise and the students in view. I continue talking to Siesta. My seal is trying to take hold, I suppress it.
"Near by? Maybe I'll visit. This academy isn't my ideal residence." It's getting hard to not strain.
"Oh, heavens, I doubt Tarbes is much more exciting than the academy, Lord Uchiha." Siesta might not be too hard to warm up to. Her perceived differences in status is a blockage, but my age helps. I look outside, Louise is shouting, clearly distressed. Damn it. I clutch the mark, it started to spread. Are they bullying my master?
"You useless zero. Hardly deserving of noble status!" Guiche declared, embarrassed and angry.
"Maybe you shouldn't be a two timing dog!" Louise roared.
"You'll be alone and miserable forever, zero. What noble would marry such a waste of a mage?" Guiche smirked venomously.
"What woman will so much as look at you, after I rip your face off?" Everyone paused, turning to the source of the voice.
Sasuke walked forward, covered in the curse mark. Guiche paled. Louise growled. Zerbst took her leave immediately. Others simply backed away.
"Go away! Leave me alone! I'm hopeless, remember! I don't need your false care! Your pity!" Louise screamed. Sasuke turned to her, a hurt look on his face, but turned away without word. His eyes focused on Guiche.
"Those slap marks are going to be fond memories for you." Sasuke mocked.
"Stay back, demon!" Guiche waved his wand. "I am a proficient earth mage." Sasuke halted. This is a chance to see what they can do. Added bonus, I get to punish this idiot.
"I give you the first move. Don't waste it. You're life is at stake." Sasuke's smirk made the statement hit harder.
"Stop this. I command you." Sasuke ignored his master. She's far too weak to know better.
Guiche summoned 2 Valkyries.
"Are you sure you want this conflict?" Guiche asked.
"Positive." Sasuke said.
"Duels are forbidden!"
"Not against a familiar." Guiche countered Louise.
"Sure, let's cal this a duel." Sasuke laughed. Guiche frowned and ordered his bronze Valkyrie golems to attack. Sasuke watched, no sharingan, and realized these things were painfully slow. Effortlessly dodging every strike, but not even bothering to damage them.
"This is going to be easy." The mocking word egged Guiche on. Guiche created one more golem, and sends it fort.
One punch, one swing of his fist was all it took for Sasuke to obliterate the bronze construct, still dancing around the remaining ones.
"That's impossible!" Guiche whimpered.
In the sky, Tabitha narrowed her eyes.
Osmond had recalled his familiar, and was using his mirror to watch Sasuke.
"Ms. Longueville, please hurry to send Colbert to the students gathered outside, there is a conflict."
Louise couldn't believe what she was seeing. 3 bronze golems, destroyed. 3 simple punches. Guiche panicked and summoned more, each one getting danced around and punched.
"Is this the best you have?" Sasuke paused and let one almost connect. He grabbed it's spear, and paused again. His left hand glowed brightly. He grinned darkly, and used the spear to destroy the Valkyrie.
"I'm done with this." Sasuke moved faster than everyone could track. Sasuke was in front of Guiche, his hand wrapped around his throat.
"I recall saying I'd rip your face of, let's set a line for it first." Sasuke reached behind him and pulled out a kunai. His hand glowed once more. Guiche struggled, but couldn't even talk.
"So touching weapons make me stronger? Far stronger than the curse mark, even. Maybe this familiar deal isn't so bad."
Louise was horrified, but also intrigued. The glow was because of her?
Sasuke looked Guiche in the eyes, and lightened his grip. Guiche coughed and gasped.
"Anything you want to stay?" Sasuke started twirling his kunai.
"I surrender! I'm sorry!" Guiche had tears in his eyes. Sasuke shook his head, tightening his grip again.
"You're apologizing to the wrong person, weakling."
Louise felt 10 times worse. Guiche looked at her, his face agonized.
"I'm sorry Louise. Please forgive me."
Louise didn't want this. She didn't ask for this.
"Sasuke stop!" Sasuke lifted Guiche by his neck, the boy choking. The ninja raised his kunai and pressed it to Guiche's forehead.
"Put Guiche down, immediately!" Professor Colbert roared. His staff was pointed at Sasuke.
Louise's familiar looked to Colbert, a sick grin on his face.
"I'm starting to think all of you are weak. The others simply watch as their ally is about to die, and you waste a perfect opportunity to attack." Sasuke throws Guiche to the ground. Before anyone can react, Colbert is knocked to the ground by a punch to the chest.
"Professor Colbert!" Louise screams. This can't be real. It's true. Her familiar really is a demon. And worst, he's a strong one.
"I have no idea how strong your magic is, but you people are most definitely pathetic." Sasuke starts to walk towards the downed Professor.
"Fireball!" Louise shouts. An explosion occurs and everyone is covered in smoke.
