This is supposed to be an omake, I was typing chapter 9, and realized how badly I wanted to do this.

If I like this chapter too much, well...

Or I simply end up writing '2' stories that split from one event.

Chapter 9

Louise awoke to a world of pain. It hurt to breathe, her hears rang, her muscles and skin ache in ways she never imagined, and she smelt nasty meat. She struggled to get up, wincing and having to stop multiple times. Her vision is blurry and her eyes are not spared from the pain her body feels. The pink haired mage is almost on her feet when she coughs, losing her balance.

[ Rule of steel, Louise, you need to know if Sasuke will accept this as your show of power. Will something that hurt me, hurt him? I'm still alive, so I doubt it did much to him.]

Louise mumbles a short prayer to Birmir as she manages to start walking, and her vision gets marginally better. Suddenly, a loud roar fills the air. Through smoke, Louise can vaguely see Sylphid rushing over to...

"No" Louise croaks. Sylphid roars, cries, as she looks up from a charred, and disfigured corpse. Not to far, a similar figure can be seen. The much smaller remains of Flame the Salamander are out of Louise's view. Ignoring the pain in her limbs, she runs to the nearest body, Tabitha's. The smell is horrid, and she vomits. She doesn't notice as the dead girl's familiar changes form.

" One-sama! One-sama!" The dragon turned blue haired girl cries, hugging Tabitha's burnt and exploded corpse. Some of the missing pieces can be seen in the grass.

Louise cries as she heaves up everything in her stomach.

[ This is my fault. The smell, the gore...]

Louise takes notice of the blue haired stranger, and even in her current state, notices that Sylphid is gone, or this girl is the dragon.

' Sylphid?" Louise wheezes between an empty vomit. The dragon in human form looks at Louise for only a short moment, before her eyes return to Tabitha's form.

Louise would like to try to comfort the girl, but she needs to see Kirche. Louise says a full prayer for Tabitha.

Kirche's body ended up leaning against one of the few surviving trees in the area.

" I'm so sorry!" Louise sobs, on her knees, in-front of Kirche. Futilely, the Germanian noble is long gone.

" I told you I didn't need or want your help. I lied, I was so happy someone thought I was worth help. I don't know why you wanted to help a failure like me!"

Sylphid stood up from Tabitha. Louise flinched when she was wrapped in a hug. The two girls lost track of time, as they cried.

The rhyme dragon eventually cried herself to sleep. Louise was not ok, she knew this, but she had a task to complete.

[ I don't know if I'll be relieved or pissed if you're still alive, Sasuke. If that bastard lived, he better accept being my familiar.]

Louise searched for awhile, and existence paused when she found him. He wasn't a charred husk. Unconscious, his clothes tattered, bleeding, Sasuke definitely looked like he had seen better days. But as she got closer, the rise and fall of his chest was obvious.

He looked peaceful, a strange thing to think. Louise's nails bit into her palm, as she pointed her wand. She did it, she beat him, with help, but she did. It wasn't a proper spell, but her explosion was powerful. Kirche once said she believed that Louise had slain the demon with an explosion. Louise wondered if she should make that possible joke a reality.

[ This is as much his fault, as it is mine. If I'm to be imprisoned, or even executed for today's events, I should at least kill him. There is no guarantee he will respect me. No guarantee he won't cause more death after I'm dealt with. No guarantee that he will ever lower his guard again, that anyone will actually be able to stop him. He was playing with us, if he really wanted to, he could move faster than we could react, I saw that against the valkyries. ]

This was her familiar. This was her responsibility. A true noble would do what must be done. Louise stood there for hours, pondering what to do and how her life was ruined. Simply watching as Sasuke slept. She was alert enough to turn to face Sylphid while the girl was some distance away. The look on her face was feral. Louise's heart sank.

[ She might take the choice out of my hands.]

Louise held her breathe, as the blue haired girl in-front of her, became a dragon, and that dragon roared in pure rage.

It's funny, in that moment, a lot of answers came to Louise. She didn't want Sasuke to die, she didn't want to simply accept her punishment for allowing this tragedy to happen.

" Sylphid, please! That fire was aimed at me! I blew it up and it hit them! It wasn't supposed to! He's my familiar, please!" Louise pleaded. It was clear that Sylphid cared to hear none of it, as she flew up and aimed to crash into Sasuke's sleeping form.

Without much thought, Louise aimed at Sylphid, shouting explosion. The wind dragon is knocked off course and crashes against the ground. She whines, roars, and takes flight again.

Over and over, she would aim at either Louise or Sasuke, and every time, Louise would blast her off course.

Sylphid slowly lumbered in front of Louise. The two tried to stare each other down. Tabitha's familiar was injured, tired, and grieving. Louise was aching, tired, and grieving.

" Please, I'm probably a criminal now, but I'll still take care of you. Sasuke aimed that at me, not Tabitha or Kirche. It's my fault, and I didn't mean to. My world is falling apart, and I just want something from all of this. Leave Sasuke alone."

Sylphid stares for awhile, before turning away, heading to the academy at a slow pace.

So 'Omake' 2 will definitely be out before 'chapter 9'. I'm dangerously close to this being the story.

My pure head canon, is that blasting through dimensional barriers to rip and summon a person from their world takes a lot of power, even if a ritual was used. Void magic in this story can kill Sasuke, no matter how strong he gets, because it is magic, and if I decide it can go past durability, then it just will. Most other magic won't mean anything to Sasuke.

And I've thought of a solution to some of the consequences of making this the legit plot...
