Generallius: I'm not sure what you mean by "static". The thing about that scene is that Surge has been worn down by Starline's voice in her head. She's been fighting him off for so long, and she got attached to Sonic. So when Sonic didn't acknowledge her need, Surge was too exhausted to resist that demand, and she was hurt deeply that Sonic seemed to not care. That was magnified by the fact that both of them were sending escalation or content signals with regards to their relationship. Were they romantic, or did neither feel comfortable with saying "stop".

I know last chapter upset you, but please stick around.

GiyuuFan(28 and 29): Hehehe… Stick around.

/*-*/

Surge felt the branches snap against her chest as she ran through the forest. She was pissed off beyond any recognition. Sonic was a lying piece of shit, he was a manipulative pile of garbage who… made her feel special. It was all just so Surge could do Sonic's dirty work.

He didn't a care about her, he was willing to sell her out for some stupid village in the middle of nowhere.

"M-Ma'am-" Kit started.

"I DON'T WANT TO FUCKING TALK ABOUT IT!" Surge shouted as she continue to sprint forward, partial blinded by anger. Faker-boy made her feel special, which was why it hurt so bad. Sonic had raised her up, made her feel wanted and hopeful, only to dash those hopes when things got rough.

You should have destroyed him!

You'd like that wouldn't you, just so you could win? I hate you just as much as I hate Faker-bitch Surge thought to the voice.

"M-Ma'am?" Kit mumbled, sounding scared as usual.

Surge snapped out of her thoughts, "WHAT!" She was immediately answered when she suddenly stopped, feeling a sharp pain in her stomach.

Surge growled and looked down. She'd impaled herself on a sharp rock from her running so fast. "Fuck." was all she could growl as Surge flopped onto the ground, seeing the large gash which went from her waist to her ribs.

Surge pushed off the rock and fell on the ground, with Kit landing next to her, watching her with concern. Surge growled, "Quite your worrying you little shit, I'm fucking invincible, remember?" Surge rolled her eyes and waited for her regeneration to kick in.

"S-Sorry Ma'am" Kit mumbled, slumping down.

Surge growled as her stomach fixed itself, "STOP CRINGING! DAMN IT, YOU ACTUALLY ALMOST GREW A FUCKING SPINE BEFORE! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?"

"S-sorry Ma'am." Kit shrunk down even further, looking down with his ears drooping.

Surge sat up and decided to start walking instead of running. They had to be close anyway, "Look, Drippy, just keep an eye out for the slippery bastard or the hide out."

"Y-Yes ma'am." Kit perked up a little and followed behind her.

Surge continued to trudge along the edge where the forest met the mountain. She climbed over all sorts of weird rocks and shit.

Kit perked up, "There! I think that's… I-I think that's the base… Ma'am." He pointed towards a cave entrance that was under a cliff.

Surge grabbed the little Fennec's arm and bolted into the cave. It went down, deep into mountain, with rocks almost being carved into steps. It was actually fucking considerate, along with the small white lights that lined the way down.

Surge skidded to a halt at the bottom of the cave. Two large, thick metal doors blocked her way, with a panel in front. Surge slowly walked up to the panel on the wall and saw a dark blue circle on it, and underneath the circle was a key pad with twelve buttons.

As She leaned in, the blue circle flashed her right eye with a laser. Surge recoiled as a mechanical voice shouted, "Access Denied."

Surge blinked a couple times.

You shouldn't mess with my things

She grit her teeth, "AAHHH!" She screamed, before curling into a ball and slamming into the gate. It was bullshit, it completely fucking stupid! She had come so close only to be stopped by a fucking door!

Surge bounced off, before rebounding and slamming into it again….and Again

Faker had make her feel like she had an actual friend in the world.

Surge felt her body collide with the steel wall again.

He'd promised he try to help her. He could have helped her.

Surge grit her teeth and screamed again, ignoring the soreness she was feeling, and tried again.

Sonic had abandoned her, when she needed him the most.

Surge panted, catching her footing. She was exhausted. Surge slammed into

"M…Ma'am?" Kit's scared voice mumbled behind her.

Surge jerked around "What!?" She shouted, snapping at her partner.

"I…I don't think that's going to work." Kit sounded so pitiful, and his ears slumping didn't help.

Surge growled as she stopped, "WHAT? DO YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA? MAYBE RUN OFF AND FUCKING FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN ACTUALLY DO SHIT?"

Kit slumped… and curled into a ball. Surge stopped.

"H-Hey… Drippy, Fucking talk to me." Surge mumbled as the little blue fennec curled up. Damn it, he needed to get over himself, "Drippy, come on, we're wasting fucking time!"

Kit peaked out of one of his ears, his eyes burned with pain. She'd hurt him, and she didn't know how to fix it.

Kit slowly uncurled anyway, "We… We can wait for Starline, and get him to open up the door." Kit slumped down.

Surge blinked and nodded, "Why the fuck not."

They sat down outside, waiting on top of the cliff. Surge looked at Kit, who didn't seem droopy or weak anymore… just lifeless. Surge had fucking broken something in him. She was his… friend, and she hurt him…

Sonic would have given him a little boost, a little encouragement. Surge was just as good as faker…

"Hey… Uh… Kitsunami." Surge awkwardly grumbled, trying to find the right words.

The little Fennec looked up, hearing his actual name called, "Y-Yes Ma'am?"

"What do you want to do after this?" Surge slumped back, not taking here eyes off the young Fennec.

Kit simply went back to lookout at the horizon. He looked like he was about to cry. His voice didn't sell anything else, "I… want… what ever you want." Kit whimpered.

Surge was really starting to get pissed off. Sheesh, he would have bled his hopes and dreams to fucking Son-

Surge realized it. The Reason Kit was so bummed, the reason he was different.

He… had made friends. Surge had spent the whole time avoiding friends, for one reason or another, but Kit enjoyed his time there. And Surge took that away from him. They loved him, treated him well, and Surge pulled him away because of his programming.

Starline had ruined her life, but she had ruined Kit's. He had felt loved by Sonic and the faker-squad, and Surge had the audacity to be a total bitch to the only one who bothered to actually watch her back.

Surge closed her eyes, "Hey… Kit… You're uh… not fucking bad." Surge grumbled. Nice work, easy seven out of ten for a first try.

Kit looked at her and blinked. His eyes gained a bit of a sparkle to them.

Surge searched for the right words, "I…uh… don't fucking mind having you around."

Kit's tail began to wag a little.

"I'm not getting any mushier, damn it!" Surge growled, before suddenly gasping as a metal-boned fennec slammed into her with a tight hug.

Surge smiled down at him, and stroked his head. They Sat there, and Surge had time to be alone with her thoughts.

Sonic betrayed you. He was never your friend

Surge growled. You don't know anything. I hate you, I hate him, I hate everyone!

Surge stopped at that thought, because it hurt to even think that as well. Sonic… hadn't helped her, but he had tried to help a lot of other people. Surge was… selfish. She slumped down.

Sonic was out there, fighting to help others, and Surge had hurt him over a possibility to look into her past that might not even come true. Star-bitch was certainly taking his time.

Maybe Surge would only stomp Sonic into the ground when they were done. That'd be a good apology right?

YOU NEED TO KILL HIM!

SHUT THE HELL UP Surge thought angrily.

Surge clutched her head. Starline wanted her to hate Sonic, now she had a reason. But Starline wouldn't stop pressing, and Surge couldn't help but be a bit suspicious that this motherfucker wouldn't leave her alone.

So Surge did Something that she wouldn't normally do: she dared to actually look inside herself. She found all of the shit she had done, on both sides of the stupid hero/villain story. How did she feel about everything that had happened? Surge had put it off for so long because deep down, she didn't want to know the answer.

But as she waded through all of the shit that was rolling inside her, Surge found herself feeling… like shit… as usual. She was alone, with a spineless fennec being her only companion. She had a friend, and pushed him away.

Forget about him. You hate him. You want to destroy him

Surge… didn't even fight the voice. She slumped back… as she heard singing… fancy singing.

"~Where's the contradiction?~"Starline's voice sang out as he walked under the cave.

Surge didn't waste a moment, she jumped up and ran to the base of the cave.

"~Fed the world by ways of science, sinner or a saint?" Starline got out before Surge slammed into his back, flinging him against the walls of the cave.

"Hey Doc, long time no see. Got a punchable face as usual." Surge grinned, sparking in her hands.

Starline gradually stood up, "Ah yes, a dog has no choice but to return to her master." Starline gloated, pushing his glasses up.

"Yeah, Well, I'm a tenrec, and we come with fucking spikes!" Surge shouted, flaring her quills up as water tentacles zipped forward at Starline.

Starline spun his leg around at the tentacle.

Surge leapt back to grab Kit, but it was too late as the sharp heel struck her fennec companion with the venom. Kit cried out in pain, but Surge was all too happy to make Starline pay for everything.

She jumped at him, curling into a ball to avoid Starline's cheap venom. Surge landed and grabbed the ground before kicking her legs back to slam into Starline, sparkling with electricity, flinging the bitch into the stone cavern walls.

Starline gasp, muttered some gibberish before standing up on his feet, " You know you'll return to me anyways, you need purpose and direction!" Starline stood up and shot at her, with his glove outstretched.

Surge ducked and closed her eyes before flaring her quills, and opened just in time to punch Starline in the stomach, "What I need is you fucking dead!"

Starline stumbled back as Kit got up and swung his tendrils around Starline. Starline thrust his hand out from the wrapping at the Fennec who shielded his face as his ears rose and slammed Starline into the wall.

Starline gasped in anger, and got up, "You little-" Surge punched him in the face and he flew back against the wall. Surge jumped up and curled into a ball, dropping after Star-bitch's head.

Starline of course rolled out of the way, before Surge growled. She fucking hated him! She hated him with every ounce of her being! He fucking abandoned her! Surge blinked at that though, giving Starline enough time to swing his venomous spike around and hit Surge in the stomach.

Surge fell back, feeling her limbs lock up. Damn it! Surge tried to make her limbs move, but the Metal Virus still needed some time to work. Still, Surge didn't exactly have time to wait for it as Kit tried to distract Starline.

Where was Faker… no, She didn't fucking need his help! He made his choice, to go fight his mortal enemy who was threatening millions instead of helping her find out some stupid bullshit about her past. Even pissed off she couldn't make herself sound selfless. Fuck she was a shitty person.

Surge felt her fingertips start to tingle a bit. She was starting to get her mobility back, and Surge was going to make the most of it.

"You two are nothing without me!" Starline shouted, as he blasted Kit's face with a hypo-ray, the little fennec covering his eyes with his ears.

Surge sat up, before kicking Starline into the wall, "Shut the hell up!"

Starline slammed against the wall, hitting against, his glasses flying and snapping against the wall. Starline's face turned sour so fucking quickly. His cocky smirk was off, and he surged forward at Surge with his glove outstretched.

Surge jerked her head around and closed her eyes, "GET OFF ME YOU FUCKING PSYCHO!" She whipped her fist into Starline's ribs. Starline growled, tapped his foot on the ground, and threw his leg around to try and poison Surge. Surge opened her eyes and felt her body go into a lul after a split second of Starline's hypno-ray.

Suddenly, Starline was jerked back by a water tentacle as Surge got her bearings, "Fucking nice save Kit!" Surge growled as she shook her head, before standing her ground as Starline gasped.

He was tired, and he wasn't exactly a fighter, "Why do you hate me so much? I made you something extraordinary!" Starline stood up, "I took you all from miserable lives as slugs, and made you something great!"

"YOU RUINED OUR FUCKING LIVES!" Surge shouted and ran at Starline as he began to tap his foot. Surge slid under his foot before she punched him square in the stomach.

Starline doubled over, and sneered, "I GAVE YOU A PURPOSE! NOT TO BE SOME HOUSEWIFE IN SOME DUNG COVERED VILLAGE BUT TO CHANGE THE WORLD!" Starline screamed and swung his leg around again.

You want to kill Sonic! I made you everything you are!

Surge had enough, and held up her hand, catching Starline's leg.

Surge didn't know what she was saying, but the words left her lips, "THE WORLD DIDN'T NEED CHANGING!" Surge pushed up on Starline's leg, causing him to fall back.

She jumped on top of him as her mouth and heart seemed to spew everything out, "SONIC KEPT EGGMAN IN CHECK, THEY HAD A GOOD SYSTEM! YOU FUCKED IT UP!" She slammed her fist into Starline's beak.

"SONIC IS A GOOD MAN, AND YOU FUCKED WITH MY HEAD BECAUSE YOU WERE A FUCKING FAN BOY!" Surge slammed her fist into Starline's face again, then again for good measure.

"THEY DIDN'T HURT ANYONE BIG, BUT YOU CAME ALONG AND HAD TO RUIN EVERYTHING!" Surge slammed her fist into Starline's eye, causing him to scream.

"STOP, I DEMAND IT!" Starline shouted angrily, swinging his arm up to try and blast her with his hypno-ray.

Surge grabbed his arm and slammed it in to the rocky walls. Surge shouted in Starline's face, "YOU MADE ME A MONSTER YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" She punched his face, again, and again. It felt good… really good.

You want to kill Sonic!

Surge heard a high pitch squeak as she pummeled Starline. Starline stumbled more bullshit words. She punched Starline in the beak, again… and again… and again. Surge reared her fist back, and brought it down on his black beak.

SNAP

Surge saw bits of black fly off Starline's face. His beak was split down the middle, with bright grey, fresh material exposed to air.

"STOP IT!" Kit's voice cried out as Surge raised her fist again. Surge stopped and looked at her little partner.

"P-peesh, Weve me be! Ah'll do what ever you wan'!" Starline was… Crying. Surge suddenly… didn't feel like beating Starline into a pulp. He just seemed… so pathetic. It wasn't worth it anymore.

But it was worth getting what she sacrificed so much for, "You're going to open that fucking door, and you're going to give us everything!" Surge growled, pointing at the scanner, "If you try anything?" Surge sparked her fist to make sure Starline got the point.

He nodded, his eyes tears, "I… I'll what ever you want." He seemed to have pushed out his speech impediment Surge had beaten into him.

"No tricks, or you die, bitch." Surge growled, and got off the platypus. He slowly rose to his feet.

"NOW, ASSHOLE!" Surge shouted. She had wasted enough time, sacrificed too many opportunities for this shit. She wasn't going to waste another second.

Starline scrambled and stumbled to the door, before pressing his eye up to the lock, and pressed buttons on the pad.

"ACCESS GRANTED, WELCOME, SUPREME ASSISTANT STARLINE." The mechanical voice echoed through the cave. Surge and Kit trudged in, but Kit seemed to keep his distance from Surge. Didn't he want to hurt Starline as much as She did?

Surge saw Starline working his way over to a computer, "OH HELL NO! Kit, get up there and do everything. You aren't touching shit unless I say!" Surge shouted, glaring at her Fennec partner.

Kit nodded and turned the base on. Several massive screen lit up overhead, showing various sections of the continent. Below, smaller screens had numbers and shit running over them. A music play sat on the one of the white-marble counters that housed the screens.

That wasn't all there was though. In the center were two large tubes, which looked very familiar. Surge glared at Starline, "This is where you did that shit to us?"

Starline slumped, but Surge wasn't going to hurt him…yet.

Kit pipped up, "WAIT, Look at all of this!" Surge looked up at the screen overhead, that was on the left side to someone entering. She saw several pictures of a green and black tenrec, and a blue fennec. Surge saw the Tenrec smiling in one picture, happy. Surge didn't really feel happy. In another, Surge saw the green Tenrec playing with little dolls, under a "Sonic the Hedgehog saves the day" poster. Surge didn't like dolls, or…

You need to destroy Sonic! HE HURT YOU!

Surge snarled, clutching her head. She saw another picture… this one was taken by the green tenrec, holding a phone with a blue Hedgehog flashing a peace sign next to her. Surge grit her teeth as her head really started to ache.

The Blue Fennec was shy in the pictures, but another picture, he was in swim trunks, and… smiling. Surge saw the blue fennec on a water slide, and on a plane. Starline took their lives from them.

And Surge was nothing like the girl in the pictures. She grit her teeth and shook her doubts. She had a right to know who she was before!

It doesn't matter

Surge gripped her head as the new voice entered it, "Shut UP!" Surge shouted, earning a look from the others inside the room.

Don't base your crusade on your past

Surge snarled and stomped her feet.

"I've found something!" Kit shouted up at her. Surge jerked around to look at the Fennec.

Starline shivered in the corner, but he seemed to get less… scared. That scared Surge a bit. Surge found herself looking up at something. A bunch of letters and numbers.

"What the fuck is this?" Surge jerked at Starline.

Kit mumbled, "I…I think it's who we were?"

"Excellent perception, my dearest Fennec." Starline mumbled, slurring a bit. Apparently he didn't fully figure out how to fix his speech, "I stored your old personalities and memories as a baseline, like any good scientist in case something went wrong."

Surge blinked at that statement, "W-Wait a fucking minute… we can get our memories back?"

Starline remained quiet, before Surge growled and he answer, "Yes, but you'll need to be unconscious for the operation."

Surge stopped, and glared at Starline who flinched, "Why the fuck does that need to happen? You fucking playing me?" Surge gripped Starline by the throat and raised him up. His legs dangled, but he didn't swing his spikes around.

"Your brain can't handle two realities happening in real time, It could drive you insane!" Starline grumbled desperately.

"I'm already a little insane!" Surge grinned, tightening her grip.

"It would turn you into a dribbling foof!" Starline mumbled, his bill sliding and scuffing up his speech.

"Fucking… Fine, What ever. You try anything, and I'll fucking end you!" Surge shouted, and Starline nodded aggressively.

Surge grinned before dropping him, "How long's it gonna take? I want it done now!" Surge stomped in front of Starline.

"G-give me five minutes to start the system… an hour to finish." Starline held up his hands defensively. They were shaking, so Surge knew he was pretty damn terrified of her. Good.

Surge grabbed on of the rolling chairs and wheeled it out and decided to maybe look at the continent. There were a bunch of screens, might as well enjoy the show. She looked all around, avoiding the one over Kit's head.

Eventually, she got bored, and Surge looked up at the fight between Faker and Fatass…. And Faker was struggling. He got smacked around by a giant Metal fist.

Come on, asshole, get up. Surge thought to herself. She stopped as she found her own thoughts penetrated her mind.

YOU WANT TO DESTROY HIM.

She saw the blue hedgehog struggle to his feet. He was tired.

Surge shook her head and stopped looking at the screen, only to hear Starline's cheer tell her how the fight was going.

Surge growled, "Did I say to fucking stop? Get back to work, or I'll make your life fucking miserable!" Surge snapped at Starline, who quickly got back to working on the computer.

Kit sat beside her, but he was clearly on guard. Surge watched his eyes go to her, then back to the screen. He continued his little dance for about a minute.

"They need help." Kit mumbled, shifting in his seat. Surge rolled her eyes, but looked up and saw the little band of goodie-two shoes scrambling around the giant-gorilla-skull bot, trying to strike a weak point.

Surge turned back to Starline, "How much longer, asshole?"

Starline grumbled, "Approximate-y one minute leff." Starline sputtered with his chipped and cracked beak.

"They need help." Kit repeated, looking at the ground.

Surge growled, "I heard you the first time, no need to…" Surge realized what he was trying to say. THEY needed to help Sonic and his crew. "What? You want to help them? After they used and abused us!" Surge shouted, causing Kit to flinch. "We're so close to getting everything we wanted, and you want to throw it all away!"

Kit shrunk down, "I want whatever you want." He mumbled, closing himself off.

Surge blinked. What the fuck was with than answer? All she wanted was a "yes" or "no". Drippy had a little bit of an actual fucking spine before.

I don't think we can go back. His voice rang out in Surge's ear.

"Starline, You better not be fucking with us!" Surge growled, grabbing his chair, causing the platypus to jolt upward.

"Of course not." Starline mumbled, shrinking down.

Surge walked back to her seat and sat down, and more voices invaded her thoughts. Part of her wanted to run and save the day. That part of her thought Sonic was her friend. The other part of her was ready to watch Sonic go.

I'm on this ride as long as you are.

You want to destroy Sonic!

Surge stood up and walked around the base. She was alone, any friendship Sonic gave her was to manipulate her. He didn't care! She needed to know about her past!

None of it matters

He doesn't care about you!

Surge staggered over to the desk as the voices continued to assault her brain. She slammed her head against one of the stations really hard, then hit it again.

*Clink*

The sound of the music player hitting the floor.

"Blind, in the deepest night, Reaching out, grasping for a fleeting memory"

Surge was about to smash the stupid thing when she stopped and slumped down. She didn't know what to do anymore. She wanted to know who she was.

"All the thoughts keep piercing this broken mind, I fall, but I'm still standing motionless."

Surge heard the sound coming from the screen above her. She saw Sonic, standing proudly on a hill of sand, clutching his right shoulder as a sparkle surrounded him

"Far, in the distance, There is light, a light that burns these scars of old"

What was Surge? Who was Surge?

"All this pain reminds me of what I am"

Sonic's voice rang in her ear.

I know exactly who you are-

As long as your past exists, you'll always belong to me. Starline's voice taunted.

"I'll live, I'll become all I need to be"

Kit and Starline looked at Surge, "The Machine is ready." Starline mumbled, "Are you ready?"

Surge ran her fingers over the computer, "Kit… Do you trust me?"

"woah"

Kit looked up at her, before nodding aggressively.

Surge ran her hand along the computer station's top, before closing her eyes. She felt her body spark with electricity as she upped the voltage.

What are you doing, you need those memories! Starline's voice in her head shouted.

"woooaaaoooh"

Starline jumped away from the system, "W-What are you doing? You'll never find out who you are like this!"

I know exactly who you are-

"WHOOOAAAAH"

"I know exactly who I am!" Surge shouted as the screens began to flash the warning [CRITICAL POWER OVERLOAD]. Kit's eyes lit up as Surge stated, "I'm Surge! Surge the Tenrec!"

"WHOOOOAAAAAH!"

The lights began to flicker, before the screens exploded, and the room was left in nothing to light it except the eyes of Surge and Kit. She lunged forward and grabbed music player, hooked up her earphones, and hooked it to her waist. Then She grabbed Kit and Starline as the cave rocked.

"Words that kill, Would you speak them to me?"

They burst out of the cave as Surge went straight towards the desert.

You don't have to be what Starline tells you to

Surge had been playing into Starline's hand for far too long. He wasn't going to get another Second of her life.
"With your breath so still, it makes me believe"

She was Surge the Tenrec, whoever she was before didn't matter, there was no way she could ever be "normal" again. Surge ran across the sand with Starline and Kit in her hands. Surge jumped over a sand dune, and saw ATLAS bringing his fist down on the sand dune.

"In the Father's sins"

Surge threw Starline behind the next sand dune she saw, "Stay here, bitch, or I'll finish that beak when I find you, understand?" Surge shouted. Starline mumbled something, but Surge couldn't hear it over the song. He gave a nod, that was enough.

"Let me suffer now and never die"

Surge ran up the dune and saw the Giant gorilla getting ready to smash Faker-boy. Surge sprinted and jumped over the dune, curling into a ball and slamming into the square back of ATLAS. The Badnik shot forward, before catching itself and leveling out.

"I'm alive!"

Surge uncurled, spreading out her arms as the sun glistened behind her, allowing herself to uncurl, "Hey, Motherfucker, I'm back, miss me?"

Her eyes met Faker's tired, but enthusiastic eyes. They Grinned at each other. Suddenly, Faker's grin vanished, and he shot at her. Surge then got her situational awareness back and realized there was a fist coming straight at her as she was airborne. Cheap fucking shot.

Faker collided with her, pushing Surge into the sand as the metal fist punched Sonic into the ground. Surge shot up and grabbed Sonic as the fist came down again, trying to crush him.

"Pride feeds their blackened hearts"

Surge pulled Sonic behind a dune where the fox landed, "Come on, asshole, don't die yet, I haven't killed you yet!" Surge reached around his waist and grabbed the bag of rings.

FINISH HIM OFF!

"And the thirst must be quenched to fuel hypocrisy"

Tails muttered, "You're back? Awesome!"

Surge handed Faker Some rings, " Come on, asshole, get up."

Sonic flipped a couple of rings, and his back, "Thanks.. Surge."

"Cleansing flames is the only way to repent"

Surge Growled, "Fuck yeah. I'm gonna help you save the fucking day."

"Renounce what made you"

Faker grinned at her as She asked, "Alright, now what the fuck are we fighting?" Surge pressed pause on the music player.

Sonic sat up and gasped, "Well… ATLAS has Shadow and Blaze powering it. Eggman also has the chaos emeralds."

"Big fucking deal, we've fucked up a double before." Surge growled, popping her back.

"Yeah, but Shadow and Blaze are on my level. They're probably giving it a lot more power. It hits pretty hard, too. The Chaos emeralds aren't helping us at all." Sonic mumbled, stretching.

"Alright, faker boy, What's the plan?" Surge asked.

Kill him!

"I don't know…" Sonic sighed, scratching his head.

Tails stepped in, "We've been trying to get into a maintenance hatch, but he puts up a shield every time we go for it."

Surge growled, "Well try it with us!" Surge gestured to Kit, who looked really determined.

Fatass's voice echoed over the dunes, "I HAVE UNLIMITED POWER, YOU CAN'T STOP ME! HAHAHA!"

Surge peaked over the sandy hill as a pink mass flew into the sand. "Ring, please." Pink-bitch mumbled.

Sonic tossed her a ring. As Surge noticed something. ATLAS seemed to raise its shields up when someone was going for a part…

"Drippy, why the fuck isn't he keeping himself covered?" Surge growled.

Tails spoke up, "It might be because the shield systems will overheat, so he uses them carefully."

Kit looked at Tails, and then nodded. Surge also saw His fist dragging along the dirt when he would try to smash one of the badniks.

"You're back? great." Amy muttered, before dusting herself off.

"I have a brilliant idea." Surge grinned, sliding down, before she explained it.

They listened, which was nice for a change, and Surge held up her hands with a grin.

Pink was the first to complain about stupid shit, "No one could reasonably survive that!"

"Please, I could, easy." Surge waved her off, before chuckling.

"No, I'll do it, just don't miss." Sonic grumbled, popping his back once again.

Surge blinked, "Come on, bitch, I can take a beating, You, on the other hand, look like shit." Surge snorted, but kept an eye on him.

WATCH HIM DIE!

Surge ignored Starline in her head.

"No, I'll just pull off at the last minute." Sonic mumbled, before bending his knee.

Surge growled, "Dumbass, He'll squash you like a bug!"

Faker grinned at her, "You'll just have to be faster." He took off.

Surge growled, but she knew he wasn't going to listen to her. So she pressed play on her Music player on her waist.

"Words that kill, Would you speak them to me?"

Sonic Called out to the giant badnik, which was apparently Occupied with the Echida( who could apparently fucking fly!), "HEY EGGMAN! Don't count me out yet! We're unbeatable, So call it quits!"

"With your breath so still, It makes me believe"

The Red echidna landed, "I'm getting a breather, he's your problem now!"

Surge saw Sonic droop a bit, but quickly sped up as the two ran circles around ATLAS. He was still tired after their fight.

"The Sins never die, Can't wash this blood off of our hands"

Surge felt the wave of guilt as Kit threw sand from the dunes around them at the badnik, before jumping to avoid getting crushed. Eggman tried to swing his fist to smack Drippy, but a blue blur grabbed the Fennec and pulled him away.

"Let the world fear our song, It's just a means to an end"

Tails dove in to tray and hit the hatch, only to get stopped by a forcefield.

Surge saw a chunk of a building go flying from Kit's Tentacles. Fatass's shield stopped it.

"HEY EGGMAN, I DON'T LIKE BEING IGNORED!" Sonic's voice echoed over the sandy ruble.

"Our salvation lies in the blood of our sins"

Surge saw ATLAS turn to face Sonic, before raising its fist high. Sonic dove out of the way as the fist came down towards the blue hedgehog.

"Beyond the truth,"

Surge saw the arm twice as she jumped. She flew… past the arm, and pushed Faker-boy out of the way.

"let me suffer now!"

Surge felt the impact of the fist as she flew into the air. She stopped hearing… Stopped seeing… stopped feeling.

Surge opened her eyes, and didn't see sky, or grass, or sand. Just black stone all around her. She heard the sound of saws, and spikes behind her. She turned around and saw a dark cavern, going deeper. Surge decided to walk away, the cavern freaked her out.

As Surge walked, she saw a bright light, at the top of the black stones. Surge stepped forward, when Something grabbed her quills.

"Where do you think you're going?" Starline's voice growled.

Surge's face felt like it was getting cut as she was pulled back. Surge's eyes opened as she fell through the clouds. She had paid her dept to Sonic for that save.

As she fell, Surge spread her arms out, before she saw it… The hatch. She twisted and turned, doing a few summersaults, before spreading out again.

"FACE IT HEDGEHOG, YOU'RE DONE!" Fatass's voice laughed.

Surge spun with her shoe going straight down as she burst through the hatch.

"In my heart I just know ,that there's no way to light up the dark"

She looked up and saw what looked like a giant battery, wrapped in steel casing.

"What?! You aren't supposed to be in here, get out, you freak!" Fatass shouted from an intercom.

"In his eyes"

Surge grinned, "What, you have unlimited fucking power, how about a little more?"

"Wooaaaooooah"

Surge ran and grabbed the metal casing. She might not be able to crush the armor, but it was metal… She knew what to do.

Surge took a deep breath, before firing all cylinders, bustling with Electricity.

"WHOOOOAAHHH!"

"What? You think you can overload the systems? Fine, trying it, you'll only make me stronger!" Fatass's voice shouted.

Surge shouted, and increased her voltage, "FUCK YOU!"

"WHOOOAAAAA!"

The Music player burst as Surge kept going.

"KEEP TRYING, YOU'RE WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME!" Eggman shouted.

[WARNING, CRITICAL POWER LEVELS REACHED, DISCARDING PRIMARY POWER SOURCES}

"WHAT?" EGGMAN Shouted, but Surge wasn't done.

She felt her brain going fuzzy, but she wasn't going to give in. Surge pushed herself, doubling down as her skin felt like it was burning, her brain hurt.

"STOP IT YOU FOOL, DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU ARE DOING?"

Surge didn't even respond, not that she could as she felt the last bit of energy leave her body.

[WARNING, CRITICAL POWER LEVELS REACHED, DISCARDING SECONDARY POWER SOURCES]

Surge finally let go, and staggered back. She couldn't hear, she couldn't really see… but she knew she won.

Surge felt a wind suck her back, as a giant metal fist collided with her chest.

The Last thing she saw, as she laid on the ground unable to move, breath was an angry blue hedgehog, surrounded by gems.

Kick his ass Surge thought as her eyes closed.

Song is "Sins of the Father" by Donna Burke.

Well, This section was controversial. I knew it, and you know what? Let's play it up a bit. I want to know one thing each of you wanted to see improved, more of, or removed. Also, tell me how you think the ending is going to go.( I will NOT be changing the ending based on public reactions or anything, I just want to pick your brains).

I'll go first with something I completely messed up: I should have had Surge fight Sonic more. They got buddy-buddy too quickly, that is entirely on me.

Please leave a review or PM, thank you to everyone who has done so for this story, it's not too late to join in. If you've read the past chapters, you know the drill.
