ATypicalGirl: I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad you found the story fun and interesting. I love your passion and fire.
Guest: Well, I mean, I knew some people weren't going to be happy with that ending. That's why the Alternatives exist.
Giyuufan: Yeah it was sad, but it was also meant to be cathartic. It was meant to vent that sadness, but also hold a bit of hope. The story would have a hero going forward, just not Sonic. And yes, you are right, there are alternatives for people who didn't like that ending.
Crazybeebee: I'm glad you enjoyed it. While I'd love it if you stuck around, if you are happy with the ending, I get it, and wont expect you to stay for the alternative endings.
Edmondchedid1125: Well, that's good. It's ok to cry at a sad ending. That's part of catharsis, and it's healthy to get it out of your system.
Albian: I wouldn't say it was too bitter. There was a sadness to it, but Surge is not insane. Starline is out of her head, and she's free. She's also going to be the hero(Ironically) Starline wanted her to be. Sonic is gone, but not all hope is lost. As for comedic endings… We'll see. I've written this story to be serious and it is hard to break away from that tone without being… jarring.
237: The problem with "reaction" stories is that they work best as videos because there's more to gather from the image of the person. Writing those reacts has less impact or humor because there is so much setup for it… that being said, I could see Surge asking "So where am I?" and running a joke with that.
These next two I moved to the end so I could use google translate to write the responses
I apologize if my points are problematic. I am using a free translator software and I am not even sure if I am translating in the right language.

"SURGE! ARE YOU ALRIGHT!" Sonic shouted at her, daring to take his eyes off the large super Badnik. He saw Surge's form, laying still in the sand. Sonic ran to her, ignoring the large badnik. She was really still.
"Don't ignore me, HEDGEHOG!" Eggman shouted as Sonic skidded to a halt in front of Surge.
"Surge?" Sonic asked, his voice sounding so distant, even to himself. He knelt down and scooped up Surge. His heart felt shallow as Sonic felt his brain making the conclusion.
"HEDGE-" Eggman's voice rumbled, but silenced when Sonic turned to glare over his shoulder. Eggman stuttered, "Err… is she alright?"
Sonic scooped up her form, and held her head close to his chest. Sonic gulped as his throat tightened. It wasn't fair to her, or to him. Sonic held her close as he walked over to the fallen gems.
ATLAS backed up, perhaps intimidated by Sonic's anger. Sonic carried her to the circles, before he closed his eyes and felt himself connect with the gems. Sonic's hand rested on the back of Surge's neck as the Chaos Emeralds began to rise.
Sonic saw the sand glistening in her quills like a series of tiny diamonds in the sunlight. Her mouth was open slightly, as if she was hoping for air to bring her back to life. She'd put her faith in him, she'd chosen him over her own desires, and Sonic wouldn't let that go to waste.
"H-Hedgehog… I didn't mean to… I mean… Come now, I thought she could take it…" Eggman mumbled through the machine.
Sonic growled, "SHUT IT!"
Sonic's eyes then turned back to Surge. As the Emeralds began to glow around them, Sonic closed his eyes and pushed his mouth into hers, blowing air into her lungs as the energy swirled around them. Sonic felt Surge's body jerk around as she returned to the realm of the living.
Sonic searched for all the shackled parts of her. He heard the voice of Starline, gnawing at her, insulting her, degrading her, and controlling her. He found the infestation, began to work, dissolving it all, destroy Starline's programming. It was… cold, and dark in there.
1
Sonic then felt a hand go to the back of his head. He braced for a blow.
Instead, he felt her push his head down, further into her mouth. Sonic then felt her tongue in his mouth, and his eyes shot open as Sonic realized that the girl who had sworn to destroy him, was now kissing him.
Her eyes were closed as she seemed to hold him there, their forms finally flashing. Sonic was pretty used to being golden, but Surge had turned from her typical green to a glowing orange-red color. Sonic held her there as the light finally died down.
Sonic saw her eyes open, and Sonic let her down. Steam came from their mouths as they separated, both panting from the lack of air and the surge of energy. A silence hung between them as they seemed to examine each other, looking for some form of approval or discouragement.
Sonic panted as he felt the electricity in his body, and it wasn't the kind that Surge gave. Sonic could hear her panting form. He was still waiting for her to punch him.
"Ahem… I'm still here… HEDGEHOG!" Eggman's voice sounded… embarrassed.
Super Sonic jerked back at Eggman, "What, you ready to get your butt handed to you?" He turned back to Surge who still seemed shocked from earlier.
Her cheeks twitched as Surge looked confused… before her cheeks twitched into a grin, "Let's… Fuck him up." Surge grinned at Sonic.
Sonic felt relieved that Surge was back to her normal self…. Or super self. It was surreal, looking at another super form, that wasn't a hedgehog.
"Bold statement, little lab-rat, but don't you count me out yet!" Eggman shouted at them, raising the skeleton-gorilla's fists and bringing them down on the ground as a sort of taunt.
Super Sonic and Surge glanced at each other, and a sort of mental connection happened, before they split off and zipped around the sides of the super badnik, and they closed in a super speeds.
"THIS IS FANTASTIC! FUCKING HELL!" Surge's overjoyed voice shouted as the two slammed into barriers from ATLAS.
They bounced off, but the shields had cracked, "STOP IT YOU FILTHY RODENTS!" Eggman's voice screamed, and Sonic could see the glowing lights turn an orange color.
Sonic laughed, "Come on, Egg face, you know how this goes!"
"NO! I WILL CRUSH YOU, YOU MISERABLE HEDGEHOG!" Eggman shouted and flung a fist at Sonic.
Sonic laughed as the fist came towards him. Then it struck and launched Super Sonic into the sand. That one actually hurt… that was weird. Sonic didn't think anything could hurt him like that.
Of course, Super Sonic jumped back up, and found Super Surge zipping around ATLAS. She seemed pissed.
"YOU MOTHERFUCKER, I'LL END YOU!" Surge shouted as thunder rolled overhead. Lightning sparked around ATLAS as the Super Badnik balled its fist to try and punch Surge.
Super Sonic zipped and slammed into the elbow point of the right arm, launching it forward, causing the arm to miss Surge.
She lunged in a slammed into the chest of the large Super Badnik. The two floated over ATLAS as it fell to the ground, collapsing into the sand.
"You think we broke it?" Super Sonic asked, partially laughing.
Super Surge snorted, "The Fuck if I care, wanna finish it off?" She grinned at him.
"Ladies first?" Sonic offered, grinning at her.
"You big fucking softie." Surge rolled her eyes, before flying down straight at ATLAS' chest.
The Chest lit up, and shield burst over the Super Badnik, deflecting Surge's charge. Sonic stopped as the right arm lunged and launched her towards the mountain. Sonic lost sight of Surge, but he had to hope that she'd be fine.
"HEDGEHOG!" Eggman shouted, "I'LL FINISH YOU AND YOUR LITTLE LAB-LOVER TOO!"
Sonic shouted at Eggman, "Bail, before this gets worse!"
As much as they were enemies, Sonic didn't want to see Eggman get hurt if the Supers decided to rip it apart.
"I'M NOT DONE YET!" Eggman shouted from inside the behemoth, and Sonic barely zipped out of the way of the large fist from the right arm, "I'VE GOT YOU NOW!"
Super Sonic's eyes widened as he turned around to see the second fist coming straight at him. The air cackled as Sonic jumped up in the air.
As the fist rose through the air, Sonic saw an orange flash ripple through the sky, cutting through ATLAS's elbow, causing the left arm to fall off, "DON'T TOUCH HIM!"
Super Surge hovered up to Super Sonic, and Sonic laughed, "Alright, thanks for the save."
"Yeah, Yeah, Don't get mushy on me, faker-boy." Surge snorted, before glancing down at the large Super Badnik below, "You ready to fuck shit up?"
Sonic laughed, "Are you ready?" They seemed to swirl around each other, probably because it required some actual thought to stay still.
She snorted, "Let's Fucking end this." Surge dove down, and Sonic joined her.
They dove down as Eggman shouted up, "YOU MISERABLE RODENTS! DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I WORKED OT MAKE THAT ARM!"
They both dove straight at the chest of ATLAS. Sonic saw the barrier appear, and he pulled back, but only for a moment as Surge continued her dive straight at the shielded piece. Sonic couldn't let her have all of the fun, or be called a chicken because he pulled off.
Sonic dove and burned energy to keep up, bracing as the distance quickly closed. Sonic saw it, out of the corner of his eye, Surge grinning at him out of the corner of her eyes.
They both seemed to laugh as they slammed against ATLAS' shield, before being blasted back. Sonic couldn't help it. He, probably like Surge, was having a blast, getting to go all out for the first time in a while.
When they hit the sand, the two laid there in silence as air slowly caught up with them. Then…
"He….hehe." Surge started to giggle.
Sonic only resisted for a second as he joined in, Starting off lower, but her laugh was infectious. The two burst out, Sonic's laughs prompting Surge to laugh harder, which in turn caused Sonic to laugh harder.
"STOP…. Stop laughing." Eggman's voice went from loud and angry, to confused and embarrassed.
Surge only seemed emboldened from the demand, and she laughed even louder. Sonic sat up and caught his breath as he finally got the jokes out of his system. Surge wasn't done, and it almost seemed spiteful.
"I'll… I'LL SHOW YOU TO MOCK ME!" Eggman bellowed and Sonic quickly jumped up as the right fist flew at Surge, pulling ATLAS forward.
Super Surge jumped up and barely avoided the blow.
"Hey, let's try not to taunt him just yet." Sonic called out to Surge.
"Yeah, yeah." Surge groaned, and the two began to circle ATLAS. Sonic watched as the Badnik's back opened up and rockets began to fly out. He'd had enough experience with rockets to know that while they wouldn't hurt, they'd slow down him down, even in super form.
"Dodge the rockets!" Sonic shouted and began to make a zig-zag motion.
"No Shit!" Surge barked back. Sonic realized a rocket was heading straight for her face, and zipped back to knock her to the ground as it exploded, before jumping back up and running.
Super Surge joined him, "Yeah, yeah, lesson learned, shut up, it won't happen again!"
Unfortunately for her, A rocket struck her in the gut and launched her over a sand dune. Sonic heard lightning crackle, which probably meant she was fine.
"HEDGEHOG!" Eggman's voice inside ATLAS began to grind as if he was seething even further.
"Come on Eggman, give up before something goes wrong." Sonic shouted, "Do you need a hand getting out?"
ATLAS swung around, trying to chop Super Sonic with a flat hand. Sonic, again, evaded the blow.
Sonic laughed, "Alright, the joke wasn't that good." He then settled hovering upward. Where was Surge, she should have been up by now. Sonic scanned the sky, before diving to avoid the right fist again.
"IT'S NOT FAIR, I ALWAYS LOSE, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MUCH I PLAN, HOW MUCH I PREPARE, I ALWAYS LOSE!" Eggman shouted angrily at Sonic.
"Stop trying to hurt people and take over the world. Then you'll stop losing." Sonic called out, trying to keep things light, but it was clear that Eggman was losing it.
Sonic heard the crackle of lightning and looked up. The clouds seemed to have a strange scarlet tint to them. Super Sonic grinned and lowered himself to the ground as he understood, "Eggman, last chance to surrender, before I break your new toy."
Sonic could hear Eggman's teeth getting grit from inside the Super Badnik, "YOU'RE DONE, HEDGEHOG!" The Super Badnik raised its fist to crush Super Sonic.
Sonic shook his head, "No… You're done." Sonic zipped around ATLAS, picking up speed as he went. The sand and wind began to bend to the force of Super Sonic's speed.
"HOLD STILL HEDGEHOG!" Eggman shouted from ATLAS, swing the fist around, trying to hit Sonic. Still, he wasn't moving from the spot, so Sonic continued to build up speed. Then the Super Badnik Staggered from throwing a punch.
Sonic picked up speed as the golden tornado began to swirl around the giant Monkey-skeleton. ATLAS began to rise off the ground.
"WAIT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING, STOP THAT YOU MEDDLING HEDGEHOG!" Eggman's voice became desperate as ATLAS flew into the air.
"You know Eggman? I had hoeps you were going to turn a new leaf. I guess the winds of change are a little slow with some people. You still have to raise them up though." Sonic laughed as he stopped, with ATLAS rising through the air from moment a good forty feet off the ground, belly up, "But you're in for a shock before you hit the ground."
Thunder rolled is as the bright scarlet light flashed through the clouds, before Super Surge burst through in a flash of copper lightning, slamming into ATLAS' shielded stomach, plunging it straight towards the ground.
Sonic watched as the core of the Super Badnik, with its shields raised began to glow a bright red and steam. Super Surge pressed down even harder as Sonic dove down to help. Yet as he dove down towards the plummeting Super Badnik, the shield gave out.
Surge seemed to spark with a white energy as she dove down into the stomach, pushing continuously deeper into ATLAS.
Sonic slowed down for a second, "Surge, Pull off!" Super Sonic called out to his super friend.
Surge ignored him, before the stomach bent, crumpling under the weight of Surge's attack. Sonic watched as Surge burst through ATLAS' stomach, slamming into the sand as the Super Badnik struck, and an explosion shook the world.
"SURGE!" Sonic called out as the smoke seemed to fill the sky. Sonic lowered himself down through the smoke. The crash was surprisingly not bad. The skull and chunks of upper torso seemed to be together In one piece, with the obvious catch that they were scuffed and bent. The lower part, however, was completely totaled.
ATLAS was disabled alright, Eggman wasn't going to magically make it sit up and go for a few more rounds. Sonic saw the bits of metal that constituted the legs of the Super Badnik, now scattered about, "SURGE!" Sonic called out.
Did he think she was hurt? He didn't know. If she was still in her Super State, then she'd probably be fine, but if it wore off…
Sonic shook his head, "SURGE!" He called out again. ATLAS' upper body began to rumble, before a copper Tenrec shot out from under it, causing the half of the Super Badnik to lurch up and down.
Super Surge landed on ATLAS, panting. The sand had melted into glass, creating a glimmer from Surge's hide as she panted softly. Fresh sand seemed to make a sort of dye on her back, and quills, giving her small yellowish stripes.
Surge shook herself, and the sand fell on the Metal giant, before she grinned up at Sonic, "Yo, Fakerboy, you miss me?"
Sonic snorted, before nodding, "Yeah, I was worried, you seem alright though." Sonic looked at the crashed husk. That wasn't moving anytime soon, "I guess that's it then?"
"Almost." Surge growled with a wicked smile, before turning back to cockpit. She lunged as Sonic realized what was happening. Surge ripped open the top of the Super Badnik's head, "OH SHIT, I CAN DO ANYTHING LIKE THIS!" Super Surge laughed, before glaring down at Eggman.
"YOU RODENTS!" Eggman shouted angrily. Surge did not like his tone one bit, and Sonic realized that while she didn't want to kill him, that may not have been the same for Eggman.
Sonic zipped down as Surge lunged and grabbed Eggman by the neck and held him. Sonic froze as Surge lifted Eggman off the ground, "You… are the asshole who Starline wouldn't shut up about? You're the asshole who's fucked with everyone's lives." Surge growled in a low, but certainly cocky voice.
"Surge… Calm down." Super Sonic held up his hands. She was good now, right? Sonic couldn't take that chance.
"UNHAND ME, YOU PEST!" Eggman shouted at the tenrec, flinging his arms around angrily.
"I'd change my fucking tone if I was you!" Super Surge growled and shook Eggman, laughing a bit as he bobbled around.
"SURGE, STOP!" Sonic shouted at her.
"OR WHAT?" Surge growled, glaring up at him.
"Y-You won't do anything to me… That meddling hedgehog will stop you." Eggman muttered in a daze. Sonic wished he could but-
"You think he can get to me before I fry your ass?" Surge growled with a grin, gripping his throat, "You know, he's too soft on you. He fucking think's you can change for the better."
Eggman struggled inside the grip of the super powered Tenrec.
"You know what I think? I think you're a lost fucking cause. You're going to make problems for everyone for the rest of your life." Surge growled glaring at the doctor who flailed about in her grip, "So I think the world would be a better place without you."
Eggman's eyes widened as he thrashed about even harder. Sonic began to slowly and carefully walk towards Surge, trying to figure the right words that wouldn't give him a roasted egg.
"But." Super Surge's tone turned… annoyed, and mildly guilty, "I would have said the same shit to myself two weeks ago. So I guess I'm not a fucking fantastic judge of character, but faker-boy is."
Surge dropped Eggman, who in surprise, backed up, and slipped off of ATLAS' torso, falling down and bumping his butt, then his head, then his butt again as he landed, "Get fucking lost."
Eggman sat up, "You're really letting me go? You'll regret-"
"You know, on second thought, I got a little more energy for some ass kicking!" Super Surge grinned and turned around.
Eggman took off, running away as fast as he could. Super Surge cackled as he disappeared in the distance.
Super Sonic flew up to the top of the plat form and descended. They both lost their super forms as the same time, standing on the massive pile of metal.
"You let him go? You had me worried there for a moment." Sonic laughed, nervously, scratching his back quills.
"Yeah well… I won't exactly show his ass mercy forever." Surge sighed before turning to Sonic, "But… if you want his ass gone, I guess you got the right to do it before me."
Sonic blinked, mildly disturbed by that statement, but he chalked it up to Surge putting er trust in him, "Thank you."
Surge shifted, before smiling, "Hey… uh… I…. I don't… hate you." Surge mumbled, "And I know I fucking said I did… but I don't… Alright?"
Sonic blinked. What was she… oh, their little fight, "It's all good… how are you? Did you find… what you were looking for." Sonic didn't want to set her off.
"Yeah. I did." Surge nodded.
The two sat down, and leaned against each other, kind of exhausted, or at least Sonic was. The sun was lowering off in the distance. Sonic rested his head against hers, with a somber note finally hitting him, "I… I guess it's over now."
Surge perked up, and realized what he was talking about, "Yeah…"
Sonic blinked before he remembered, "Wait… It's not over yet. I still owe you two meals." He felt his heart skip a beat at that.
Surge's somber look morphed into a grin, "Yeah… You fucking cheapskate, You owe me."
Sonic laughed as he heard Tails and the others approach, "Why don't we go cash in on one now? Your pick."
Surge grinned at him.
/*-*/
Surge found herself… smiling, leaning back against the red seats which might as well have been velvet. Kit smiled up at her, seeming to look at her with a small, content smile.
She heard the sound of silverware scrapping on plates and she leaned back.
"Well, Mr. Hedgehog, I received a lovely call from my daughter." Ally's voice gave off a pleasantly surprised tone, "You have no idea how happy you made her. Another desert on the house."
She then turned to Surge, and the Tenrec knew she'd caused a lot of shit for Alice. Her joy drained to annoyance. Alice asked, "Can I get your drinks."
Surge reclined back and muttered, "How about a milkshake, or fucking two." Surge grinned down at Kit, who perked up again, just like when they first got there.
Alice turned to Sonic, who smiled, "I'll take one too, better yet, everyone gets a milkshake." Sonic laughed that awesome, happy laugh.
Surge scratched her chest, feeling her heart skip a few beats.
As Alice walked off, Surge called out, "Hey Ally?"
Alice sighed and turned around, her wrinkles not doing shit to hide the fact that she was very clearly annoyed by Surge's presence.
"You're fucking awesome, you know?" Surge leaned back and scratched under her nose with grin. That was the best apology Ally was going to fucking get.
"Right." Alice gave a slight nod, and turned around to slide in their ticket.
"You know, I didn't think you'd actually change, at least not for the better." The pink hedgehog who sat next to Kit muttered. Surge glared at Amy. She still didn't like the pink one.
"Yeah, well everyone's fucking surprised." Surge grumbled, perhaps a little more defensively.
Pink glared back at her, "Well, not everything changed, I see."
"Amy." Faker-boy warned, "Come on, let's all celebrate. Another one of Eggman's plans foiled." As if by magic, their milkshakes arrived, with Ally lining them on the table.
"Can I get you all something to eat." Alice asked, glancing down at Surge.
Surge had been so happy to get another meal with Faker boy, she really hadn't thought about it. Surge groaned, "Fuck it, let everyone else get theirs in."
Ally went around the booth while Surge looked over the menu. There were so many options.
Alright Starline, You've been fucking quiet, you get to pick what I fucking eat.
Surge waited for a response. Nothing. Did she dare to hope that he was gone?
Yo, fuck head, where are you?
Sonic was smiling at her. Surge realized that they were all waiting on her, "I'll take the fucking special burger." Surge reclined back.
Alice nodded and walked off as Surge continued to question what was going on in her head. Was he really gone?
"I uh… went around in your head, and found where Starline was. He's gone." Sonic smiled at her.
Surge felt her heart skip a beat at that. He was really gone, truly gone? No more "Kill Sonic" in her head?
Surge began to laugh to herself. She was free.
"So… Uh, Surge, what are you going to do now?" The yellow fox asked, and all the eyes seemed to turn to look at her. Surge shifted, not worried about them, but suddenly asking herself that question. What now?
She looked at Sonic. She wasn't going to try to kill him, and Starline was gone so maybe…
Surge licked her lips, "Ahh… I might stick around. Might find some shit to do in the city. Who fucking knows."
Tails looked at Kit, and the little fennec looked back hopefully. The fox then turned to Surge, "Well, We do have the guest rooms, and we can get you a house up if you'd like."
"I don't need your fucking charity." Surge groaned, trying to hide the fact that she was really considering it.
"It's not charity. We'll call it even for helping me out." Sonic stepped in with a smile.
Surge leaned back, "Ahh… fuck it, I'll think about it." She definitely was going to take them up on that offer.
Their food arrived, and Surge picked up the burger, before taking a big bite of it, "I fucking love this burger," She muttered as sauce dripped down her face.
Sonic scarfed down a chilidog, leaving Surge to glance at him, then at Kit. The little guy wanted to be around them as much as she did.
Surge then saw Sonic lick his bottom lip, scrapping up some chili. Her brain immediately shot back to him holding her over the sand…
Surge blinked a couple times, that was… different, but it wasn't exactly bad. She liked him… she liked him a lot.
Surge saw some chili on the side of the Hedgehog's cheek. She reached across the table, and scrapped it off with a finger, before licking it off.
Everyone at the table stared at her, so Surge reclined back, coolly, "What? He need to clean it off." Surge felt the heat rising to her cheeks.
They left the diner, and went back to the house. Everyone seemed to set up and enjoy themselves, even the reptiles who had sat on their ass the whole adventure.
Some of them sat on the couch and when that filled up, they sat in the chairs, and when those filled up, the rest stood up. It was amazing just how many fucking people were there to celebrate. Faker boy, however, seemed to sit back, away from the action, instead standing at the stair case.
Surge walked up, "You avoiding them or some shit?"
Sonic snorted, "They're all having fun. Besides, Vector is about to start singing." Sonic muttered with a smile, Surge could easily see that he bracing.
"So the big shot who saved everyone's ass doesn't get first shot." Surge grumbled, leaning against the railing with him.
"Well, you're standing here, aren't you?" He grinned her way.
Surge snorted, "What shit are you smoking? You brought that big piece of shit down." Surge glanced at him, and he shrugged.
"Last I checked, you're the one who took out ATLAS." Sonic smirked back at her. He was really trying to push her buttons, wasn't he. The asshole.
Surge growled, "Yeah, but your dumbass brought me… back." Surge shuddered at that thought. She had… died.
Sonic gave her a worried look, before smiling, "We'll call it even, how about that."
Surge glared at him, before sighing, "Sure, why the fuck not." He really couldn't let her have this, could he?
"OOHHH BABY, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT'S WORTH?" The large crocodile shouted, making Surge's ears immediately start to hurt. Surge had better things to do than to get a headache from that asshole.
She turned and zipped down the stairs to the door.
"Where are you going?" Faker asked, sounding pretty worried. Did he think she was going out to do some stupid shit. Maybe she was..
"I'm going for a fucking run, wanna come?" Surge groaned. Before she knew it, faker was at the door with her, giving that cocky grin.
"Lead the way." He grinned, holding the door open.
Surge rolled her eyes and walked outside.
As they stepped out, Surge stretched her back, "Alright, I'm gonna go to the hills."
Sonic smirked, "How about a race? First one to the to palm tree wins." He stretched out his legs on the porch.
"Palm tree? I said the hill, retard." Surge growled, popping her back, before getting into a runner's stance.
Sonic got into a similar stance right next to her, "You'll know it when you see it."
"Alright, you're on." Surge grinned, "Ready?"
"Set, go!" Faker shouted, bursting off.
"Hey, no fair asshole!" Surge quickly lunged forward to make up for the split second she had lost. He was already running out of her view. Surge began to huff, but she sure as hell wasn't going to give up that easily. She picked up the pace, and faker dared to look over his shoulder.
"You're keeping up pretty good, let's take it up a notch." He grinned at her, turning around to run backwards, which gave Surge the opportunity to catch up. Of course, that only lasted a moment, before faker burst off again.
"YOU ASSHOLE!" Surge couldn't help but laugh. Her adrenaline was pumping, and she was loving every second of it.
She caught up to him huffing and panting as she kept pace.
Sonic turned over his shoulder, "You're awesome, Surge!" Sonic was laughing. She was too.
It all too fun, her heart pounding as she ran. They hit the hills and the two ran up an incline. They burst over the first hill with ease. As Surge leapt through the air, she passed Sonic, and saw it.
The single palm tree that was somehow on the top of a hill the center. Surge doubled down, and pushed aside any exhaustion she might have been feeling. She was so close. She quickly picked up the pace, zipping over the hills.
Then she heard the sound of air vibrating. Surge put all her strength into one last push
The air beside her vibrated, and Faker passed her with a flashy grin. NO… no fucking way!
Surge huffed again and tried to push herself, but she was at her limits. She couldn't go any faster.
Sonic zipped up and placed a hand on the tree. Surge skidded to a halt in front of him, "FUCKING BULLSHIT!" She tried to sound angry, but she couldn't hide her laughter. She.. enjoyed every moment with him.
"You did good. It's really awesome, getting to race you. I mean it, I like having you in my life." Faker smiled at her in a more… shy way. Was he hinting at something. She'd like it better if he just laid out what they fucking were.
"Yeah… well, not fucking bad." Surge grumbled, slowly walking up to the palm tree, and placing her hand on the tree, leaning against it.
"Hey, don't beat yourself up. Nobody is faster than me." Sonic held up his hands, keeping his smile at her, perhaps a bit weaker, before he smiled, "Again, I really… like racing you."
Surge raised an eyebrow, "Racing me? That all?" Her brain flashed a particular image from earlier in the day.
Sonic groaned, "I… Enjoyed our teamwork… and-"
"Kissing me, without my fucking consent?" Surge growled, trying to convert her embarrassment from her brain into anger.
"W-What?" Faker backed away, nervously, "A-are you talking about earlier?"
"NO SHIT! I've been dancing around that all day. What the fuck were you thinking? That I was going to forget?" Surge shouted, throwing her hands up.
"I… I was just trying to open your lungs." Sonic looked away, embarrassed.
Surge growled at him again, walking towards Sonic, ready to punch his… somewhat cute face. She opted for a different option, "HOW DO YOU FUCKING LIKE IT?"
"I… pro- wait wh-" Sonic started before Surge kicked behind his knees, causing the hedgehog to fall back, before Surge caught him, and slammed her lips into his. She kept her eyes closed, not really sure how this was going to go.
She felt a hand rub the back of her head. Surge dared to open her eyes and find Sonic looking pleasantly surprised. Surge pulled away slowly, panting.
Sonic whistled, "That… was… uhh.."
Surge shifted, feeling embarrassed, "Well, asshole? What are we?"
Sonic blinked, before sitting down, and slumping, "I…. Don't know."
Surge felt a strange sickness in her stomach. Did she just embarrass herself and weird out her only friend? SHIT, did she push too far?
"-But I'd like to find out. Let's figure it out over lunch." Sonic smiled up at her.
Surge took a moment to register what he just said, before grinning, and rubbing under her nose, "Well... I guess we find out later. Race you back, asshole."
Sonic blinked up at her, "Are you ready-"
"- Set, go!" Surge took off, heading back to the house. She'd call them even after his little stunt. She wasn't embarrassed at all.
Surge bust over the hills and across the plains, running straight towards the house. The air wasn't vibrating which meant she was home-
She heard the vibrations in the air. Surge picked up the pace, trying to go even faster. The porch was in her sight. She huffed as the vibrations got louder.
It was a good five feet away, but she could make it. Surge jumped with an arm outstretched as Faker-boy appeared right behind her. She watched as he passed her, but she kept fingers outstretched.
Collision. Surge's fingers hit it as she slammed into the porch, "Ow…" She grumbled, before hopping up, "I won!"
Sonic grinned at her, before shrugging, "Yeah… I guess you did."
Surge blinked as he walked inside, "Where the fuck are you going?"
"Inside, I think Vector might be done." Sonic grinned at her.
Surge couldn't really think of a reason to stay outside any longer, so she walked inside.
"THERE YOU ARE! WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU." Pink shouted, reminded Surge of one of the reasons she hated her.
"Why the hell were you waiting for us?" Surge growled, wondering what sort of prank or shit she was going to pull.
"You're up." The yellow fox explained, gesturing the machine.
"Come on, lets hear the two heroes in action… again." The Large Crocodile rumbled nervously.
Surge looked at Sonic, who gave a thumbs up and a weak smile. Surge shifted, before shrugging, "Ahh, fuck it, why not."
Kit lit up and jumped back on the couch as Surge made her way to the system, before scrolling down the list. Then she stumbled on to a song. Faker was sitting on the couch, and Surge gave him a look. Was it going to be too much?
Only one way to find out. Faker grabbed a mic and Surge pressed the button on the controller.
She pressed the mic to her lips as she took a deep breath, "How can you see into my eyes like open doors? Leading you down into my core where I've become so numb…"
Surge began to rock back and forth, " Without a soul, my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold." She turned around and locked eyes with Sonic, "Until you find it there and lead it back home."
Sonic leaned into his mic with smile at her, "Wake me up!"
Surge raised her voice, shouting into the mic. "Wake me up inside!"
Sonic moved closer to her, "I can't wake up!"
Surge leaned next to him as she shouted," Wake me up inside! Call my name and save me from the dark!" Surge took a deep breath, feeling a bit… no, she wasn't embarrassed.
Sonic kept pace though, nudging her with his side, "Wake me up!"
Surge quickly caught on and nudged him back, "Bid my blood to run!
Sonic grinned at her, "I can't wake up"
Surge sang higher, leaning against him, "Before I come undone, save me from the nothing I've become!"
Surge panted as she caught her breath. She leaned back as the words came back on the screen, "Now that I know what I'm without, you can't just leave me!" Surge arched her back and closed her eyes, " Breathe into me and make me real! Bring me to life."
Sonic came in, "Wake me up!"
Surge shouted with him, "Wake me up inside!"
Sonic rubbed his side against Surge's, "I can't wake up!"
Surge leaned into her mic, "Wake me up inside! Call my name and save me from the dark!"
Sonic leaned his head on her shoulder, "Wake me up!"
Surge felt blood rushing to her face, "Bid my blood to run, before I come undone! Save me from the nothing I've become!"
They leaned into their mics, with Surge trying not to focus on how close they were, and sang together, "Bring me to life!"
Surge arched her head back, "I've been living a lie! There's nothing inside!"
They sang together, allowing their voices to flow with fire, anger and passion, "Bring me to life!"
Surge panted and closed her eyes, "Frozen inside without your touch, without your love, Darling, only you are the life among the dead!"
Sonic put an arm around her as he sang, "All this time, I can't believe I couldn't see, Kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me."
She joined him, throwing an arm over his back, " I've been sleeping a thousand years, it seems, Got to open my eyes to everything!"
She then pulled her arm back and screamed into the mic, "Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul." She then whispered to hit the low notes, " Don't let me die here, there must be something more
Bring me to life!
Sonic leaned in as they brought it home, "Wake me up!
Surge grinned and leaned against him, "Wake me up inside!"
Sonic nudged her playfully, "I can't wake up!"
Surge couldn't help but giggle, throwing her off, "Wake me up inside! Call my name and save me from the dark!"
Surge bumped Sonic, rubbing her hips against his, "Wake me up!"
Surge shouted, feeling the smile on her face grow," Bid my blood to run!
Sonic sang in, "I can't wake up!"
Surge shouted into the mic, "Before I come undone! Save me from the nothing I've become!"
They leaned in together, "Bring me to life!"
Surge shouted, "I've been living a lie, There's nothing inside!"
Sonic leaned in for the last line, and the two rounded it out together, "Bring me to life!" They held the last note together for a solid minute, until they ended up gasping together.
The room erupted into claps as the score tallied up to…
"Fucking 85%, are you shitting me!" Surge shouted, mildly outraged by their score, ready to fry the machine.
"We can make it up later." Faker smiled, pulling her away from the spot as Pink and the Fox grabbed the mics.
He actually pulled her back outside, "Hey… Uh…"
"What!?" Surge growled, before realizing he was slightly embarrassed.
"I… think I might like you a lot." He cleared his throat, and shifted.
Surge blinked at him, "Shit, what happened to "Figure it out over lunch"." Surge smirk. She liked where this was going.
"Well, we can still do that, can't we?" He gave her a cheeky grin, before holding out an arm, "We can figure it out as we travel the world."
Surge instead jumped over the railing, "So… where are we heading?"
The door opened and Kit ran out with a worried look. Surge looked over at Kit, and the Fennec nodded with a soft smile, before going inside.
Sonic turned back to her, "Where ever we want. " He jumped down and got ready to run.
"Well…Let's just run and see where the fuck we end up." Surge grinned as the two looked like they were ready to race. She then leaned over, and pulled him into a passionate kiss, before returning to a runner's stance.
He grinned, a little dazed, but ready and they took off, to where ever their feet took them.

Alright, that's the Alternative Ending.
Before we get into the cut content, Go on youtube and check out {A Typical Girl}'s cover of Vandalize. She even made some really awesome fan art to go with it. Seriously, go check her out and show some love on YouTube
This next cut bit was just a bit of a question I had, and my brain filled out the details.

Sonic watched as the glowing energy filled Surge… before she pushed him away, and began to scream.
"Surge, what's wrong?" Sonic asked.
She sounded like she was in agony. Surge's quills turned a copper red, and she clutched her head, still screaming in agony.
Then Sonic saw what looked like a crack in her head. In a second, Surge's body seemed to split in half, as metal pieces shot out of her form.
Sonic shouted, "SURGE?" But to his surprise, the wounds seemed to heal, leaving a panting surge.
Sonic looked at the metal bones that had been shot out. Her metal structures and modules had all been shot out. Sonic realized that if he got shot while before or while going super, the super form would simply spit out the metal.
That was what had happened to Surge.
She growled, "LET'S FINISH THIS!"

I obviously cut out some graphic stuff even from the cut content. Yeah, I didn't think this would work, but still thought, "why not"
Alright, I thought about doing my other dark ending, but I ultimately decided against it. I don't want you all to think that this story was only going to be horrible, and this was the "Passion" ending, so why not give what some of you what you were waiting for.
Two more things:
One: Why am I the only one rowing on the Sonic and Surge ship? I like reading this stuff as much as I like writing it. Post your stuff, I'm talking friendshipping, relationshipping, rivalshipping. Sonic and surge need more fandom interaction.
Two: I realize that teasing some of you with the idea of a sequel might have been a bit mean, so I'll put up a poll on the options on what to do with the lost content. I will keep it open until Christmas eve( December 24th).
Leave a review and I will respond next chapter. Or Send me a PM and I will respond when I can.
