Chapter 2: This is the beginning...again.

Clarke looks out the small round window and sees the earth below her. That familiar orb she's been staring at her whole life on the ark.

She looks at her hands and sees the absence of dirt, scars, or callouses. She walks over to the wavy metal mirror above the sink in her cell. She sees her own face from before. Before it all.

Round and still holding the innocence she used to have. Her hair is long, braided away from her face. She looks down at her clothes, the familiar long sleeved grey top, hand warmers, and black jeans she wore her whole confinement. But her father watch is missing.

She looks back into the mirror, her eyes look red as if she's been crying.

Suddenly, she hears footsteps against metal and the sound of her cell opening. Two guards appear and then her mom. She looks as she did all those years ago, but she's been crying, too.

"Mom! What's going on? Do you know why I'm here?" Clarke asks, meaning why is she back here. The answer she gets is one she's heard before, many years ago.

"Clarke...your Dad. Jaha found out about what he wanted to do... He's been sentenced to death by floating... Jaha knows that you know, so you will remain here until your 18th birthday... until your sentencing hearing"

"But Mom..."

"Don't worry, Clarke, I'll speak to them. I'm going to try and get you out of this. I won't let them float you, I promise, sweetie, but we have to go...Jaha is letting us say goodbye."

Clarke only nods, she know what's about to happen. She knows she can't stop it. She has to live through it again for a reason.

If this was meant to be changed, she'd have been sent back sooner so she could fix this. That must be why she was sent back at all right... she's been given another chance. To fix things from going so wrong, but not this.

Clarke is going to have to watch her Dad die all over again.
