Harry POV:
Several students gathered around the great hall, the tension was high as students talked amongst each other concerned. The duelling club was usually assembled when there was a large threat, such as Voldemort's return or the Chamber of Secrets opening. Whatever the reason why Dumbledore had to have reinstated it for a purpose. There was some excitement floating in the air as well, though. Some students were excited, like Percy who was rubbing his hands together eagerly, "I can't wait!"
"You're really excited, mate," Ron said, patting Percy on the back gently, "Duelling can be pretty fun. Especially when there wasn't the threat of the loser dying."
"I am!" He confirmed, "Seriously, I can't wait. How good are Hogwarts students with a sword?" Did Percy say sword?
"Sword?" Hermione said.
"Yeah, or do you try using something else?" Percy continued, "Some other um...students back at CHB were better with something other than a sword."
"Like what?"
"A dagger," Percy suggested. "Or a spear. Or-"
"Daggers? Spears? Swords?" Ron began laughing hysterically, "Hahahaha!" He slapped Percy on the back, "Percy you're so funny,"
"I always thought I was, but-"
"Percy!" Annabeth came rushing over.
"Annabeth!" Percy said, giving her a hug, "You're here. Where's Nico?" Annabeth pointed behind her, where not too far was a group of Slytherin, Nico among them. "He'll come here later,"
"He can stay there if he wants," I heard Ron grumble under his breath. "So Annabeth," Ron continued. "Was Percy always so funny back at CHB?"
"Yeah, he was," She responded, giving him a peck on the cheek. Annabeth turned back to Ron, smiling, "What bad joke did he make this time?"
"Hey, they're not bad!"
"I know," Annabeth said teasingly.
"He thought duelling was with swords!" Ron cried, laughing some more. Annabeth stood there with an inquisitive look or perhaps it was shock, but it disappeared as quickly as it came, getting replaced by laughter. "Percy, swords?!"
"Wait, so you knew about this whole not-using-swords in duelling thing too?" Percy asked, sounding puzzled.
"What do you mean?" Annabeth said, laughing more, "Why would we use swords for duelling?"
"He also said we could use daggers and spears!" Hermione added.
"So none of the above? Then what do we use?"
"What else? Wands!" By now, Percy's mouth formed an O shape, as his eyes lit up with realization, "Ohhh," He mumbled.
"What's so funny?" Draco asked, coming up to us, Nico on one side of him, and Goyle on the other. "Wait, is it Potter? He's always such a joke,"
"I wouldn't expect you to know, Malfoy," Hermione shot back, "Since you don't really know anything," Just as Malfoy was about to retort a voice broke the crowd hushing all the students. Just perfect, the teacher for the job was Snape. I feel that we have come to respect each other more after what happened, he still isn't easy on me, but I certainly see him in a different view. I might have just imagined it, but he may have been acting nicer towards everyone.
"Welcome to the Hogwarts Duelling Club," Snape began, "Professor Flitwick and I will be taking turns supervising everyone each session." Percy raised a hand, but Snape ignored it, continuing with what he was saying, "I want-" Now Nico was raising his hand. "Yes, Di Angelo?" Snape asked.
"I'm terribly sorry for interrupting your explanation," Nico began, sounding as if he didn't really care. "However, I, along with Percy, Annabeth, and perhaps some others, do not know how to duel." I was a little surprised. Did Percy lie when he told us about duelling lessons back at CHB? I thought more about it and decided against it. He could've just not excelled in the subject. Ron and I both had Divination in our earlier years at Hogwarts. We did fine in it if fine meant making stuff up. Perhaps fine meant it wasn't for Percy.
"How unprecedented." Snape said, "Does anyone else other than our American students, not know how to duel?" Several hands went up in the air, by the looks of it, they were mostly first years. "I see," Snape said, a subtle groan in his voice. "Do any of the older students care to give an example?" His eyes locked onto me as he raised an eyebrow, "Potter?"
"Professor! Professor!" Colin Creevy ran into the Great Hall. "What are you doing here late?" Snape asked, berating the boy, "I have a low tolerance for tardiness!"
"I'm sorry, professor!" Colin bawled, "I was using the restroom earlier and when I came out, the Headmaster greeted me and told me he needed to see you!" Snape nodded his head, "Is there a possibility I could meet with him after the duelling club?"
"I-I don't know," Snape straightened his collar and gave a sigh, "Very well," He turned to me, "Potter, you have experience with this. You're in charge. I expect the lesson started and everything progressing well by the time I returned," I could only stare, my mouth dropped as Snape left the great hall. He left me in charge? I didn't think this would ever happen.
"Blimey, you're the boss Harry!" Ron said, "I didn't think Snape would ever give authority to you."
"Harry, you're in charge!" Colin said, staring bug-eyed up at me. "I am," I said, still hardly believing it myself. "Well," I said getting in front of the crowd of students, "As some of you may know, my name is Harry Potter and I will be starting the first session of the duelling club. Now, for those of you who-" There was suddenly a loud creak at the door. I ignored it at first, continuing, but stopped when I noticed a group of girls enter. They all were wearing muggle attire, all which were brightly coloured. Their hair looked like it was flames, and they had a leg that seemed to be made of some sort of metal while the other looked like the one of a mule. I wondered how they weren't stopped in the corridors, they would be noticed immediately at Hogwarts.
They stopped not too far from the door, the one leading them looked around at the students, who had all turned to face her. "Here we are," She remarked softly. "Hogwarts."
"Can we help you?" I asked. The leader of the group smiled, showing off her fangs and took in a deep breath, "Time to complete the mission."
