Crazybeebee: I want growth across every chapter I post. If there is no change or setup, it's just filler, and wasting time. I don't want that. I will say I don't feel as confident in that last one as I did the canon one. I struggled at times and it still felt off when I posted it. It seems Sega is acknowledging the comics, which I feel conflicted about, partially with the crab-bucket mentality as an archie fan who knows we've been asking to be acknowledged for years. On the other hand, at least some of the comics are acknowledged, which could open a potential gateway.

Guest: I don't know who told you that Sonic wouldn't survive. Most of these alternative endings do have Sonic survive. I might do some more work in the future, but I have other projects I want to visit and explore. I am glad you think I got the characters right.

Generallius: I am up for it.

Giyuufan: Oh yeah, not all of my endings were dreadful or dreary.

Albian: Ok, When I say Alternative endings, I refer to early builds of the story I would think about. Not necessarily anything whacky or fun, but more my mind made an ending, but decided it didn't work. Another thing is that Humor is… subjective. I struggle with subjective topics, and to get a little personal, my brain is technically broken in the sense that it chemically does not have empathy. So the humor I propose would not necessarily be funny to most, it would be cruel, or perhaps insensitive. I do make a few jokes throughout stories, but I don't want to detract from the serious tone of growth throughout the story.

aTypicalGirl: I love the ship as well. I will say, I struggled with the last chapter, however. I reread and rewrote a lot and still it didn't feel quite right when I posted it. I guess it just sounded better in my head. I appreciate that you worked hard on that cover, and how good it turned out.

Sonic called out, "SURGE, ARE YOU OK?" He saw her body tumble through the air and land

She was face, down and she wasn't moving. He was worried, she took a pretty bad hit.

ATLAS seemed to wait patiently, "Wow… that looks… pretty rough…"

Sonic zipped over to Surge, ignoring the giant super Badnik that waited for him to get back in the action. Sonic leaned down and gave Surge a light shake. She still wasn't moving, and her body already felt… off. She wasn't breathing.

Sonic looked up and saw Kit, his face was a unique level of sadness that Sonic was sure he'd never forget. Kit had his hands wringed together, as if hoping Surge would get up. He quickly ran down to get Surge.

Sonic cradled Surge's head in his arms. It hurt, losing a friend. He watched poor little Kit rush up to Surge's broken form and whimpered as he hugged her. It wasn't fair for the little guy to lose his best friend, even most of their friendship was artificial, it was real to Kit.

Which was why Sonic couldn't let the little Fennec endure that loss. He scooped up Surge, which prompted a surprised, concerned look from Kit.

"Don't worry, buddy, she'll be back soon." Sonic smiled, and ran Surge over to the Chaos Emeralds.

"SO, HEDGEHOG! ARE YOU READY TO FINISH THIS, ONE-ON-ONE!" The super badnik raised its fists and shadow-boxed the air in a taunting fashion.

Sonic laughed and shook his head, "No, not yet." He reached out with his soul to touch the chaos emeralds. They began to glow and swirl around the two spikey rodents. Sonic also didn't want her to get stuck with Starline's brainwashing. It wasn't fair to her.

So Sonic searched for Starline inside her, destroying his hypnotism where ever he could. Then Surge opened her eyes to look at Sonic.

He grinned down at her, and she grumbled, "What- What the fuck happened, why do I feeling a truck ran my ass over? And why do I feel better?"

"Just let me work my magic." Sonic laughed at her. She snorted and rolled out of his hands as the gems continued to swirl around them.

"OH COME ON! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Eggman shouted from inside ATLAS.

"That's where you're wrong, Eggman." Sonic smiled, as the two of them began to glow, "With my friends, We can do anything!"

"Yeah-yeah, what he said minus the mushy shit!" Surge grumbled but she was smiling as they finally burst into a bright flash, before Sonic hovered over the sand with Surge. Sonic knew his normal golden glow, but seeing a different style of Super forms were weird.

Surge had a copper-red color to her quills, with a vibrant glow surrounding her. Storms seemed to pass overhead, with lightning flashing around her. She wore a bright grin on her face. Surge looked awesome.

"Come on, Fatass, let's finish this!" Super Surge shouted, hover up with Super Sonic.

Sonic laughed, "Last chance to back down before we break your toys, egg-head." Sonic offered it as a curtesy.

"Grr, You hedgehog, come and get me!" Eggman tried to shout, but his voice sounded very much afraid. It wasn't like Sonic was going to put him down. Surge on the other hand…

Sonic passed a look to his spikey Tenrec friend, "Hey, no killing, ok?"

"Yeah, Yeah, I know." Surge waved him off, before rushing at ATLAS.

ATLAS raised a shield and blocked Super Surge, before punching her back. Super Sonic caught her and they staggered back together.

"Did that hurt?" Sonic asked. Usually he didn't feel any pain when he was super.

"Yeah it fucking hurt! Thanks for the support, Asshole!" Surge growled, before flying up as Atlas bumbled towards them.

Sonic turned to Surge, "Split him and hit him?"

She shot up, "Let's get him back!" She was angry alright.

Sonic flew left and Surge flew right, before they both looped around to try and sandwich ATLAS in the middle. Unfortunately, the shield rose and the two slammed into barriers of energy. The Super Badnik still staggered though, which meant they could break it down.

"NO! NO! NO! IT'S NOT FAIR THAT I ALWAYS LOSE!" Eggman shouted, throwing ATLAS's arm out at Sonic. Sonic dove down to avoid it, only to realize rockets were coming his way. Sonic zipped around as rockets continued towards him.

Then, lightning sparked through the air and seemed to branch out to hit the flying rockets. Sonic forced himself to stop, "Thanks for the save, Surge!"

Super Surge laughed from overhead, "What the could you do without me? You're getting sloppy, fakerboy!"

"Yeah, well, watch out!" Sonic zipped up as ATLAS swung directly at Surge. Sonic pushed her up well out of the way.

"Shit, I guess we're square." Surge snorted, before looking at Sonic, "So, wanna fucking do the spiny-thing?"

Sonic nodded, and they locked their hands together before spinning around in the air. Sonic and Surge then curled into a ball, increasing their speed, before Surge tossed Sonic directly at ATLAS. Sonic flew straight at the chest of the giant gorilla badnik.

"OH NO YOU DON'T HEDGEHOG!" Eggman's voice shouted from inside ATLAS. ATLAS raised its barrier to block Sonic's blow. Super Sonic collided with ATLAS's shield, and the shield flashed an orange color, as if to indicate serious damage being done.

Still, ATLAS didn't look too roughed up, and Sonic needed to handle that. Surge came down and slammed into the shield as it turned back to a yellowish color, sending it back into orange. Steam began to puff out of the large machine.

"STOP IT!" Eggman shouted, "I CAN'T LOSE NOW!" He sounded really mad. Not that it mattered, because him being mad wasn't going to change the outcome.

Sonic and Surge hovered overhead, "Face it Eggman, when we're together, you can't do anything/shit to stop us together." Surge made sure add her little own touch to the phrase.

Eggman shouted, "YOU WON'T STOP ME!"

ATLAS threw its fist up in the air, and the two split up and struck the super badnik from the sides. Sonic and Surge both collided with the barriers Eggman set up, but the machine steamed harder. ATLAS swung it's fists around, trying to swat at them.

Then a chunk of building hit ATLAS, staggering the giant. Super Sonic and Super Surge turned to see Kit throwing chunks of the old buildings, a fire burning in his eyes. Sonic would hate to get in his way.

Sonic turned back to Surge, "Let's get back to it!" Sonic dove down to slam into ATLAS chest, which raised its shield. As Sonic slammed into it, the shield glowed a red color. More steam sputtered out of the large vents on the back.

"I'LL CRUSH YOU!" Eggman shouted as rockets flew out of ATLAS's back. Sonic and Surge split up, dodging and weaving to avoid getting hit as the missiles flew into each other.

Super Sonic and Super Surge flew up, and looked down at the sputtering, sluggish Super Badnik. It was steaming a lot, which made Sonic feel a little extra confident.

"Let's wrap this up, ready Surge?" Sonic grinned at her as a chunk of house flew at ATLAS.

"LET'S WRAP THIS SHIT UP!" Surge growled and they shot down. Sonic zipped straight at the chest. Surge went around to the back.

The two them rushed straight at the same point as the shields went up, glowing a bright orange. They both slammed into the barrier, and it turned a dark red, with cracks coming in the center.

"ONE MORE TIME!" Sonic called out, and flew up.

"NO!" Eggman shouted, swatting at them as Sonic and Surge swapped and slammed into the barrier as the cracks were slowly being filled.

The shields shattered, allowing Super Sonic and Super Surge to hit the metal as scalding steam burst out of the Badnik's back. They didn't rip through, but they broke the shields. Sonic and Surge gathered away as another chunk of house flew into ATLAS, staggering it.

Super Sonic dove straight down, in between the legs to avoid a smashing blow and struck the right knee, forcing ATLAS onto one Knee. Surge dove down to land the final blow as Sonic zipped out from under the leg.

As she zipped down, the right hand smacked her into the sand. It rose to try and crush her. Sonic shot forward and slammed into the elbow piece, knocking the hand off course. This thing just wasn't going down.

Surge shot forward into ATLAS's chest, knocking the Super Badnik onto its back. Sonic flew up to slam down on ATLAS's stomach, hoping to rip through. He dived, only to get slapped by the left hand.

Surge slammed into the arm that was coming to crush him.

Sonic hoped up and burst into the sky and Surge jumped up with him. They looked down at the struggling Gorilla badnik. It thrashed on the ground. The two then looked at each other.

Then she held out her hand. Sonic took it, and they began to spin around, curling into a ball once again. Instead of letting go, however, they flung themselves into ATLAS.

"NO! NO!" Eggman shouted as they flew straight at ATLAS. ATLAS raised its arms to block them, but copper and gold ripped through the steel. Sonic and Surge slammed into the steel stomach, rolling into the steel as it bent from the force of the two spikey rodents.

Then they tore into something that wasn't quite steel, before Sonic felt the sand underneath. Sonic and Surge uncurled and rolled into the sand underneath.

Super Sonic and Super Surge looked at each other, before looking back up at the hole in the giant hunk of steel that was over them. Surge made a… noise.

"FFFFT." Surge mouth made the sound and Sonic saw her face struggling to stay composed.

Sonic found his mouth twitching as he struggled as well. They broke at the same time, laughing deliriously.

"T-that was fucking awesome!" Surge roared, giggling and slamming her arm into the ground.

"I KNOW RIGHT? Super feels amazing!" Sonic laughed, sitting up on his elbows, before looking up at the massive hole in giant steel robot, "Huh, I thought it would-"

Sonic was cut off by the bright flash of light and the explosion that ripped through the sky. Both Super Sonic and Surge shielded their faces from the blast as chunks of metal and electronics flew into the air.

Super Sonic and Super Surge both lowered their hands at the same time, and saw the scrap metal that fallen all around. The two looked at each other, before they burst out laughing again. Sonic stood up.

Super Sonic reached out a hand to help Surge up, but she was already standing up and popping her back.

The entire lower half of the Super Badnik was gone, blown up in a fiery haze. The upper part seemed fine, and Sonic felt a little worried for Eggman.

"Alright, let's go check on Eggy, see if he's alright." Sonic floated up to the top of ATLAS.

"What? Why do we give a shit about him?" Surge groaned, "Let's just trash it and leave him." She sounded annoyed.

Sonic landed on the face of the dimly lit skull, and gave Surge a skeptical look. She groaned, "Fine, I guess we need to make sure he didn't fucking croak."

She flew up with him and they both grabbed the base of skull, "Three… t-"

Surge ripped the base upward, and the skull flew off the body of the large Super Badnik. Eggman was huddled inside, with what looked like a re-enforced cockpit designed to survive a blast.

"ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! I Surrender!" Eggman shouted, holding his hands over his head, "Just don't hurt me!"

"Relax, Eggman, We're not going to hurt you." Sonic laughed, leaning down and picking Eggman up, before setting him down, "Now, Don't you move."

Super Sonic turned back to Super Surge, but as he went to speak, they both powered down, and turned back into their blue and green selves. Sonic and Surge walked off to a sand dune, leaving Eggman alone.

"I think we should at least pummel his stupid ass, teach him to fuck with everyone's life. Maybe put him down and save us all the trouble of dealing with his shit." Surge grumbled, crushing her fist in her hands as if the words weren't enough.

"No, he doesn't deserve to die over…" Sonic felt his throat tighten. Not that he wanted Eggman to die, but it was say 'he doesn't deserve to die over the things he's done'. Sonic was pretty a lot of mobians would have strong words to say about that.

"Please, He's ruined a lot of people's lives. The bastard had it coming." Surge shrugged, before looking Sonic in the eyes, as if demanding a challenge.

"I think he can be better if we give him the chance." Sonic proposed softly, moving to make sure Surge didn't have a straight shot at Eggman if she was feeling particularly blood thirsty.

"Please, He's had plenty of chances, I think he'll beyond fixing. I'll make it fucking quick!" Surge growled, twisting her wrist and wiggling her fingers.

"Would you have said the same thing about yourself two weeks ago?" Sonic asked, suddenly feeling a bit of confidence in himself.

Surge stopped her wiggling, and balled a fist. She puffed up her chest, and sighed, "Fine, I'll be nice. But my nice-side runs out pretty quick."

They turned and ran back to the badnik… only to find it abandoned.

"That mother fucker!" Surge growled, stomping her foot.

Sonic almost laughed, "I should have guess. Oh well, next world ending event." He shrugged.

"YOU LET HIM GET AWAY!" Surge shouted, before her eyes widened. Sonic immediately bolted with her as she took off in a panicked state.

"What's wrong!" Surge stopped at a dune, and looked down.

She growled, "DAMN IT! Starline got away as well! I'LL FIND YOU, YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" Surge shouted into the sky.

Sonic shook his head, and smiled, "Later. We've won, let's celebrate, and let our heads down. I think I owe you a lunch?" Sonic offered, feeling a little giddy from their win.

Surge turned to Sonic, looking clearly upset, but her anger turned into a light smile, "Yeah, I guess you do. WAIT, How the fuck are you so calm? They're fucking gone!"

"Eh, They'll show up later. We saved the day. We'll see them again." Sonic shrugged. Surge almost seemed upset, before she seemed to remember who she was talking to.

She shook her head, "Fuck it… let's just go get some food." She smirked at him.

Sonic and Surge zipped back to ATLAS and saw Amy, Knuckles, Tails and Kit had gathered around. Kit sat in Amy's lap while Tails and Knuckles ran up.

Knuckles came up and glared at Surge, "What took you so long?"

Surge growled, and balled her fist. Sonic stepped in to prevent a brawl, "She got lost, but she found her way back." Sonic turned to Surge and gave her a smile.

Surge paused for a moment, before snorting, and rubbing her nose, "Fuck off, Faker-boy, I told you not to tell anyone."

"Well, I'm glad You came in at the right time." Amy's voice surprised Sonic as Kit ran and jumped on Surge's side in a tight hug, "I hope you'll help us in the future."

Surge looked confused, before simply waving Amy off, "Yeah, yeah. I'm starving, let's just fucking go."

Tails snorted, "Well, Somethings don't change."

He tossed Sonic a warp ring, and Sonic turned to Surge, "Where to?"

"Fuck it, let's go to that little diner." Surge snorted, still not really able to hide her smile.

Sonic tossed the warp ring and it opened. They found themselves in their booth, which was a little crowded considering they were fitting eight people instead of four, but Sonic was just happy everyone was together.

"Can I get you something to drink?" Alice asked them, they began to pass around their orders.

Surge seemed a little distant but she gave her order of water. As they passed around, everyone ordered water, probably dehydrated from the desert.

Alice turned to Sonic, "Can I get you something to drink?"

Sonic smiled at her, "Water, the best drink after a long day."

Alice shook her head with a smile, "Alright, eight waters coming up."

She left, which allowed Sonic and everyone to talk about what was truly left to come.

"So I guess, another adventure, a few more friends, Everything is going back to normal?" Tails asked, hopefully. Sonic shared his hope.

"I'm honestly looking forward to a day of just lazing about, how about it, Sonic?" Amy asked with a rather forward grin.

Sonic snorted, "Bah, I'm way to energized to take a break. I mean, come on, you know me. I never sit still for long."

"Of course you don't." Amy grumbled with a sigh, shaking her head.

Alice came back with their drinks, and set them out across the table. Then she asked, "Can I get you all something to eat."

Sonic noticed Surge seemed a little distant. Alice looked at her expectantly.

Surge shook her head as if she shocked, "Yeah… I'll take the… fucking special burger… and a shake." She grumbled. Why did she sound so down?

Alice wrote it down and turned to Kit.

"I-I'd like the mac 'n cheese, please." Kit mumbled softly, looking upbeat and happy.

Alice turned to take care of the rest of the table.

Sonic leaned over to Surge, "Are you alright?"

"Fine." Surge grumbled, slightly annoyed.

Sonic realized Alice was waiting on him, "I'll… take a chilidog."

Alice nodded, and the old chipmunk walked back towards the kitchen. As she got halfway across the floor, Surge stood up, "Hold up, I fucked up my order. Laugh at me later, asshole." Surge growled and took off towards Alice.

Sonic got up and followed her across the floor, before he stopped as Surge got in front of Alice.

"Hey, hold up." Surge grumbled at Alice.

Alice looked up from her order, "Yes? Did you remember something?"

Surge grumbled, "Yeah, Kit want's a peanut butter milkshake." She seemed frustrated.

"I'll add it to your order." Alice stated coldly, and pulled out her pen.

"And…Uh, you're awesome, you know?" Surge grumbled. She wasn't good with apologies, that was pretty clear to Sonic.

Alice seemed a little surprised by her words, before nodding, and while Sonic couldn't see her face, he knew she had a smile on, "Thank you. Your food will be out shortly."

Surge turned around and saw Sonic had followed her. It was there that he realized that this was something she wanted to be alone for. She was probably embarrassed.

"Hey…" Sonic tried to play it off.

"Bitch, If I wanted you hear that…" Surge growled, cocking her head.

Sonic held up his hands lightly to not make a scene, "I'm sorry, I just didn't want you to start a fight. My bad."

Surge scowled again at him, before sighing, "Fuck it, apology accepted."

Surge turned and walked back to the table. Sonic and she sat down at their booth and Amy asked, "So Surge, what are you going to do now? Find a place to stay in the city?"

Surge froze and got very tense. Sonic felt a little worried by what she was going to say. Then he saw the pain in her eyes, and Sonic knew what was coming.

Surge sighed, "No… I'm gonna head out."

The table was a silent. Sonic's throat felt a little tight, but he understood.

"What? You're leaving?" Amy asked, and Tails nodded in confusion as well. Kit looked a little betrayed as he stared up at Surge.

"Fucking- Do your ears not work? Yeah, we're leaving!" Surge shouted, standing up at the table.

The diner quickly turned to look at her. Surge sat down slowly.

"Why?" Tails asked.

Surge sighed and slumped back against the booth, "Starline's out there, fucking with someone else's life. I'm gonna stop him."

"We can help." Sonic offered, but he knew it wasn't going to make a difference with her decision.

Surge actually smiled as she shook her head, " Look, I'd love the help, but you got your own shit to deal with, your own asshole to put in the slammer."

Sonic frowned and nodded, "I'll miss you. I've had a lot of fun these last few days."

Surge snorted, "Look, I won't be gone forever. I'll stop by sometime, who knows. I just can't let Starline have his fucking way with the world. And… I'll need my support unit." She looked at Kit with a hopeful look in her eyes.

Kit frowned, but nodded, before pushing up a smile, "I'm always happy to help you, Surge."

Surge smiled, "That's great. We'll head out after… this." Surge slumped. She didn't want to go, and Sonic didn't want to see her leave.

The food came out, and it didn't taste as good with the bad news. Still, Sonic tried to smile, as did Amy and Tails.

They finished up their food, and headed outside. Sonic pulled out a warp ring, when Surge finally said, "Alright, this is where we head out." Surge looked at Sonic, "Been, a blast asshole."

Blaze and Shadow came forward, Shadow, of course looking annoyed as always.

Blaze smiled and bowed her head, "Thank you for your help. I am embarrassed that I was captured in such a graceless way."

Surge blinked, and wiped under her nose, "Yeah… what ever."

Shadow snorted, "Not bad, but I didn't need your help."

Surge grit her teeth, "I'll remember that next time, you fucker."

Shadow snorted, and walked off. Blaze gave another bow, and went to hang out with the rest of the group.

That left Sonic with Surge and Kit.

Sonic smiled at her, and held out a hand, "Well, One last chance to try and kill me. I'm all alone."

Surge looked at his hand. Then she lunged forward.

Sonic tensed up for a moment as arms wrapped around him in a tight hug. Sonic wrapped his arms around Surge and Kit, who hugged his leg.

Surge whispered, "Thanks for helping me, Faker-boy."

Before he could respond, she broke the hug, picked up Kit, and ran off.

Which Sonic alone with his thoughts, and already missing his newest friend.

He turned back to his friends, and ran to them with the warp ring in hand. The adventure was finally over.

/*-*/

Snow sprinkled the ground as the moon rose overhead. Six months had passed, and the world was responding accordingly. And by that Surge meant it was cold as shit.

Snow covered the landscape in a white blanket the helped hide any of the grass in what would have looked like a magical landscape if Surge wasn't fucking freezing. She shuddered under the pine tree outside.

Surge's quills were down, partially because she was trying to keep her back warm. She wore her regular top and shorts, which was proving to be a stupid decision in a winter storm. Still, it was for a good cause.

Kit mumbled, "M-ma'am, I'm fine, I'm pretty warm now, You can have the jacket back…" Kit tried to sound so positive. He wore a tan, fluffy jacket that was way too big for him. Surge had thought the snow was going to be "light".

It was not, but she couldn't afford to look weak now. Besides, Surge could warm up inside… once she worked up the courage to actually show up. She held the large, poorly wrapped box in her hands. She had brought a gift.

She hugged her elbows as she saw movement within the workshop. Surge tapped her foot and fiddled with her hands. What was she supposed to do? Walk in and say "Hi, I took a break from Hunting Starline to snag a warm meal and feel more secure about myself. I wasn't lonely, no sir-ee."

Surge groaned as she continued to hug herself.

"D- Do you want to go inside?" Kit asked softly, watching Surge with concern.

"When I'm fucking ready!" Surge growled. There really was no sense in waiting any longer. Never mind the fact that Sonic was probably going to…. Surge didn't know how he was going to react.

Really, he was the only friend she cared about in the group, which meant his judgement was the thing really holding her back.

As if God heard her troubles, the door opened and Surge saw the blue blur run out of the house through the snow. Surge took it as a sign, and sighed. She zipped into the door.

Surge saw the bright lights inside, the big tree outfitted with red and silver ornaments, a pink hedgehog, puckered up,going to kiss her-

Surge reared her fist back and punched pink in the face. Pink rolled back and shouted, "OW! SONI-"

Amy looked up like the moron she was and scowled, "You aren't Sonic!"

"NO THE FUCK I'M NOT, WHY THE FUCK WERE YOU-" Surge shouted, balling her fists.

"Oh Surge, I didn't know you knew the full story of mistletoe." Tails blinked in surprise, "Wait, Surge?"

Surge frozen and looked up. Under the doorway was the mistletoe… conveniently placed where a blue hedgehog would have come in. Surge turned back to the pink hedgehog, who was clutching her nose, before she ran to the bathroom.

Surge turned to the rest of the mobians in the room. There was the red echidna, the yellow fox, the green crocodile and so on…

"Uh… what's up, fuckers?" Surge grumbled as the room kept their gaze at her.

"Oh… hey, look, it's the green one." The crocodile grumbled at her.

Kit came in through the door, huffing as the wind came through the door, chilling the room. Surge stepped inside and dragged Kit in before shutting the door.

"Oh… you two were under the mistle toe." The yellow fox laughed, and Surge jerked to look at him, then at Kit, then at the doorway, "You two have to kiss or fight, or it's bad luck."

Kit shifted a little, before looking up at her, "W-well, I guess if it's tradition…" Kit puckered his lips and closed his eyes.

Surge balled her fist, ready to punch him in the face. Then the door burst open, and faker-boy walked in, carrying what looked like a case of wine.

"WOO! You guys have no idea how cold it is!" He laughed as he closed the door. Surge felt the room perk up and look at the hedgehog who had come through the door. Faker-boy turned around, "What?"

Surge was about to ask the same thing, when Sonic noticed her, "OH, SURGE, You're here, great!"

Surge didn't know how to take that. Was it sarcasm? Surge couldn't tell.

"Where have you been? It's been quiet." Sonic laughed at her. Surge realized she wasn't speaking.

"I was fucking… I just… I ran to one little country… A fuck it, I was looking for Starline. I didn't find shit, just for the record." Surge growled, throwing her hands up as they eyes continued to stay focused on them. Even Pink was looking at Surge intently.

"Eh, That happens. Doctors are pretty good at hiding when you're looking for them. No judg-" Sonic Almost finished innocently when Surge had enough.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ALL LOOKING AT?" Surge shouted angrily at the room glaring at the mobians on the couch, in the loveseat and in the chair.

Kit tugged her pants, and Surge looked down him, only to see him pointing up above her head. Surge growled ,"Wha-?"

The mistletoe. They were still under it… when Sonic came through.

Sonic looked up, "Oh, hey. I guess we got to kiss now?" He laughed a little, "I mean, it's tradition." He was clearly unnerved by the whole situation as well, but that wasn't Surge's problem.

"Like hell I fucking do!" Surge barked, tossing her gift at the couch, "I can fight you! I think I'll go with that fucking option!" She reared her fist back and threw it at Sonic… which he promptly dodged.

Right, he was faster than most of the people she did fight. As her fist fully extended, however, She felt Sonic's hands wrap around her forearm.

"AH, Hey asshole, let go!" Surge barked at Sonic, jerking her arm back. Again, she was reminded about how strong Sonic was.

Instead of fucking listening to her, he pressed his lips against… her hand. Surge stopped struggling, as his lip pulled away from the back of her hand. She didn't exactly know what to think from that.

Sonic noticed she was staring at him, "What? The tradition doesn't say where I have to kiss you. Just a friendly little kiss, nothing more."

He then held up his fist. Surge was still processing his decision, not that she opposed it. Surge didn't exactly feel like hurting faker-boy either. Sonic cleared his throat, "It does say we both have to kiss though."

Surge rolled her eyes, and kissed his knuckles. As she pulled away, Kit pulled at her and Sonic's legs. Sonic smiled, and picked up the little guy, before kissing him on the top of the head. Kit then kissed Sonic's head.

Sonic then passed the little Fennec to Surge. She smiled, partially embarrassed by the last kiss she gave, but she kissed his forehead, and he did the same to her.

Then, once peace was assured and Kit was on the ground… Surge growled, "Alright, time to end this fucking tradition!" She grabbed the mistletoe, and shoved it in her mouth, chewing it up and swallowing. It tasted aweful.

"That was plastic, just so you know." Sonic snorted.

Surge coughed a bit before growling, "I don't even fucking care!"

She then stood there, with not a lot to really say. Surge decided to listen to her body, "So, did you save me some turkey or something?"

"Actually, dinner is almost done." Sonic smiled at her, "I was wondering if you were going to come, so we made extra."

Kit perked up, "Do you have sweat potatoes?" He then looked at Surge and slumped.

Sonic laughed, "Don't worry, we've made plenty."

Kit's tail swayed back and forth, excited. Surge shared his excitement. She was hungry.

A gruff, angry voice shouted from the kitchen, "Enough you fools! Dinner is ready!"

Sonic popped his back and grinned, "Come on, You're going to love the food." He led them into the kitchen. The circular small table had been replaced with a large, long table, and a basket of fruit sat decoratively at the center, but it was overshadowed by the assortment of food.

A golden turkey sat on one end of the table, and a pink ham on the other. There fluffy mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans with bacon, deviled eggs with paprika, cranberry jelly, a giant loaf of bread that was ripped open in a brutal fashion and stuffed with white… dressing or something. Surge approved.

"Shadow, this looks… amazing!" Pink called out, clutching the towel around her nose. Surge… had to agree, or maybe she was so hungry her standards were low.

"Hmmn, the ultimate lifeform does things perfectly. You are easily impressed." The black hedgehog growled like an asshole.

Surge was going to probably pummel him by the end of the night. Everyone went and took their seats. Sonic sat at the end with the turkey, and everyone began to take seats around him. Tails took the seat to the right of Sonic, followed by Pink, then by the Chameleon, then a Bee, then the Crocodile and finally the young rabbit. At the other End sat the black hedgehog, followed by the old rabbit, the bat, and the red echidna.

Kit ran up and sat next to Knuckles, which left one spot. Surge sat down, across from Tails, and stretched out her hand to rip off the turkey leg.

The old rabbit cleared her throat, and Surge stopped, "What the fu-"

"I'd like for us to all say something we were grateful for this year." Sonic smiled at Surge. That was… an explanation. A shitty one, but Surge would play along. She hadn't eaten for a few hours, what was ten more fucking minutes.

"Tails, you want to start?" Sonic asked, turning to the fox.

Tails smiled, and scratched his head, "Well, I guess I'm happy that I got to go on so many adventures with you. Amy?"

Pink smiled, wrapping her hands around themselves, "Well, I'm glad I got to spend so much time with you, Sonic." She seemed to shake in some excited way. Surge had to swallow her gag.

The Chameleon crossed his arms, "I'm grateful we had plenty of work this year. We can afford to stay in business. Charmy?"

The bee buzzed up, "CHOCOLATE!" The table went quiet, and let out a light chuckle.

The Crocodile smiled, "Well, I'm glad we found and stopped Eggman."

Surge raised an eyebrow, but let it go.

The little rabbit smiled, "I'm grateful for so many friends."

Surge groaned as everyone else swooned.

It was the black hedgehog's turn, "I'm grateful for you, Sonic." He had a smug smile on.

Faker-boy seemed to blink for a moment before smiling, "Wow Shado-"

"Because everyone needs a clown to laugh at in their lives." The black hedgehog snorted.

Sonic's voice felt flat, "Thank you for those words of encouragement."

The old rabbit smiled, "Well, I am grateful for you Sonic. You brought a lot of light in our lives."

Next came the bat, who smiled and reclined back, "I'm grateful for wine." She raised her glass, which was empty.

Sonic and Surge rolled thier eyes, and the Red Echidna spoke, " I guess I'm grateful that my island is safe."

The heads turned to Kit, who shrank down slightly, "I'm… grateful for Surge… she's the best partner to ever have and-"

"Alright drippy, We didn't ask for a fucking manifesto." Surge reclined back. She wasn't embarrassed, no she wasn't.

Kit slumped down, "Sorry, ma'am."

"Nah, you're cool." Surge snorted. She certainly didn't want him to stop complimenting her.

Then she realized that all of the eyes were on her. She needed to find something she was thankful for. Something that wasn't embarrassing or cheesy. Damn it.

Surge had a cheesy one, and she certainly couldn't take her mind off it.

"Hey, there's no wrong answer." Sonic offered with a smile.

Surge growled, "I fucking know that!" She didn't need help.

Pink mumbled, "You're sweating."

Surge slapped the side of her face and looked at her gloves. Screw it, "I'm thankful…. Urg, I got a second chance." Surge finally sighed, "You're up, faker boy."

"I like that one." Sonic reassured before pausing. He seemed to look around before nodding, "I'm grateful that all of the seats are full."

Surge heard several voices gush. Surge rolled her eyes, "Can we eat now?"

Sonic snorted, and shook his head, "Why not."

Surge and Kit pass their plates around. Surge waisted no time digging in. She at least tried to show some manners, that was all that mattered, right? The turkey was amazing, the mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome. Surge was happy with the food.

As she was eating Sonic leaned over, "Hey, thanks for showing up."

Surge blinked. Was he expecting her? She didn't exactly send a text or anything. "Were you waiting on us?"

"No, I just figured you wouldn't want to spend Christmas alone." Sonic whispered back to her.

Surge hated that he was right. It was great to have an actual friend, even if she didn't actually meet up with him.

After they finished eating, everyone was ready for a fucking nap. Surge felt her belly full, and even the kids looked tired. Nothing could possibly-

"Alright, I think we should open gifts while our stomachs settle." The yellow fox muttered.

Surge perked up. She wondered what… no one got anything for her. It was pretty obvious, after all, that require them expecting her to show up. Still, She did get a gift for faker-boy.

As they walked into the living room, Surge realized that her gift was leaning against the table, a dent in the shape prevalent from when Surge had throw it. She was such a fucking idiot. Would it better to look like she didn't bring anything.

"Oh, hey Surge, we didn't put your gift under the tree." The Crocodile called out.

Surge didn't dare shove her head down in shame. She was just going to play it off as normal, "Oh, yeah, Not too fucking worried about that."

They passed around gifts. Surge really didn't care about-

"A new ergonomic screw? AWESOME!" The yellow Fox shouted with glee.

"You know, I was needing a new hat." The crocodile muttered, clearly not impressed, but trying to be polite.

"What would I need a comb for?" Growled the black hedgehog.

Surge was getting a lot of noise coming straight at her. It was pissing her off. Everyone had a gift they were giving.

Sonic seemed to stand back, and watch everything go down with a smile. He stood by the doorway, and Surge walked up to him. She growled, "Here, merry Christmas, asshole." She handed the dented box.

Sonic blinked, before smiling, "You didn't have to-"

"Just shut up and open it." Surge growled, feeling already embarrassed by the state of the gift.

He tore open the packaging, and revealed the shoe box, "You got me shoes?"

Surge felt very uncomfortable as a few eyes looked at her, "They're… steel bottoms or some shit… They won't wear out as quick. I figured you ran enough… whatever."

"Thank you. They mean a lot." He opened the box and revealed the red, white and grey shoes. He then zipped over to the tree and pulled out a flat rectangle, before taking it to Surge.

Surge blinked and looked at the name tag. To: Surge the Tenrec.

She looked up at him suspiciously, and Sonic smiled, "Another reason I'm glad you came."

Surge pulled off the wrapping paper, to reveal a white box. She opened the white box to reveal… an iron headband. It was painted blue, and had green spikes on it, with yellow accents. It was hers… he got it for her. Surge's first Christmas gift.

"I wanted to get you something you'd use and would remind you of-" Surge rushed forward and gave him a hug.

"Thank you." She whispered, growling slightly. Surge could feel the embarrassed blush across her face. She felt him wrapped his arms around her, and return her hug.

"I know you've got your own way of doing things, and you probably can't stop by too often. Just think of us if you're feeling down." Sonic mumbled.

Surge pulled away and put on the headband. It was nice, better than her other one, which may or may not have been thrown out. It reminded her of shackles. Now she had a headband that represented her friend, her closest friend.

"It looks good on you." Sonic smiled.

Surge turned to see her reflection in the glass.

Sonic patted her back, "Wow, you really like it?"

Surge turned to him ready growled at him, when she realized she was… fucking purring! BULLSHIT! She felt his arms wrap around her again, "Thanks for coming."

He then let go, and looked at everyone, leaving Surge off balance, "Alright, who's up for karaoke."

There was a mumbling, but apparently Sonic wasn't going to take no for an answer. Surge then realized why, as she saw Drippy was having a bad time with all the noise around him.

Faker-boy booted up the console, and mics were passed around. Apparently, this thing could have like twenty connections now. Some upgrade.

Sonic actually handed the mic to Tails, and as he did, Surge noticed little things. There was a bit of sand in his quills.

Music began to play… drums and chimes. The yellow fox leaned in, "It's Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid. At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade"

He turned to the pink hedgehog.

She leaned in, "And in our world of plenty, We can spread a smile of joy. Throw your arms around the world at Christmas time!" She pumped her fist.

The large old rabbit smiled and leaned in to her mic, "But say a prayer, Pray for the other ones. At Christmas time it's hard-"

The young rabbit came in, sounding happy and quiet, " But when you're having fun-"

The little bee sang jumped for joy, "There's a world outside your window!"

The Chameleon sang quietly, "And it's a world of dread and fear."

To his back, stood the crocodile with his arm, who sang, "Where the only water flowing-"

Then, strangely enough, the black hedgehog seemed… almost like he was crying as he sang, "- is the bitter sting of tears."

The red Echidna came in, "And the Christmas bells that ring there,"

The bat gave a sad look to the black hedgehog, "Are the clanging chimes of doom."

Sonic suddenly grabbed his mic and sang loud, "Well, tonight thank God it's them instead of you!"

He then handed the mic to Kit, who was now looking more comfortable. Drippy closed his eyes and shook himself, "And there won't be snow in Efrika this Christmas time!"

Surge noticed caked mud and sand on Sonic's shoes. She then saw a mic waved in her face, the asshole. Still, she liked the tune, "The greatest gift they'll get this year is life."

Sonic leaned in with her, " OOH, Where nothing ever grows!"

Surge sang with a stupid smile on her face, "No rain or rivers flow."

Sonic and Surge sang together, "Do they know it's Christmas time at all?"

Surge leaned in for the next part, "Here's to you, Raise a glass for everyone!" She raised her glass of wine.

Sonic leaned in and smiled, "Here's to them, Underneath that burning sun!"

Everyone sang together, "Do they know it's Christmas time at all?"

The melody picked up and Sonic leaned over to Surge, "Merry Christmas Surge."

Surge blinked, snorted, "Merry Christmas, Faker-boy."

Then there was a knock at the door. Sonic's smile disappeared, and he ran to the door. He opened the door, "Oh Hey, I was worried about you. Thanks for coming."

Surge looked around. Who was missing. Then, the guests walked inside. The music seemed to fall def in her ears. Surge felt her eyes shrink as Faker smiled.

"I… Uh, it took me a while to find them." He seemed nervous. He was right.

Surge's eyes landed on two large, green Tenrecs, one with a zigzag pattern on her face, the other with a star on his face.

Open-ended in several ways. I figured, why not release a Christmas ending. The Song was "do they know it's Christmas" by Band-Aid

I hope you all are having a great Christmas.
