Chapter 44: happy birthday Marie

Time: 11:21pm

Dear diary

Today was Marie's birthday and she turned 141, though she was embarrassed to celebrate a number that much bigger compared to everyone else. But we tried to make it as good a birthday party as we could with Seto staying by Marie's side, even being the most eager one of us to give a present to her. He managed to save enough to get her a pink winter coat, the kinds that was leather like on the outside but cotton and incredibly soft on the inside, it was a thoughtful gift and in the same colour scheme as Marie would have picked herself. The cake we make was the same colours, white sponge with pink frosting around the edge. Me and Kano baked it together and we both made a small mess. We ended up laughing and he even coated in some of the frosting, he said it was to give me a moustache that matched my hair. I responded with a sharp punch to his side, he didn't attempt to dodge and I was surprised, it was like before and it felt good knowing there was some normality.

Marie said she had a great birthday because we were all spending time with her, she mentioned our presents to her were nice, but didn't compare to being with us all.
