GiyuuFan: I mean, That ending could work, but it wasn't one I had planned. Eggman wasn't really the focus of this story. That being said, go ahead try your hand at writing that ending. I won't get mad or complain.
Nobo: The ending was absolutely a hopeful one. Sonic is not just going to leave Surge/Sarah to work through their problems alone, and Sarah gets to meet her hero on equal terms for once. She has his attention, even if most of that attention is directed at Surge. How many endings are left? I really have one more ending planned. I wanted to try and fill out ten endings, but I only have so many ideas that don't overlap.
If you want to do something with Sonic and Surge, do it. Please, I actually want to read/watch something I didn't have a hand in making. I might sound arrogant for this, but I wrote a pretty good story for other people, but I know all the twists and turns. I want to be surprised, or walk in with an air of mystery around something. So if you write/animate/cover/do anything, tell me about it and I'll come say "hi" after looking at it.
Jonjon: So, you aren't annoying, and I understand why you want more. The fact is that I don't really have a lot more I want to write. I've told a story, and it's ok to have a story end. I don't intend on continuing anything myself. That being said, if someone wants to write their own ending, or continue a universe on their own, by all means. I'm not going to get mad.

Sonic jerked his head around to see Surge's body tumble into the sand, "SURGE!" He called out, hoping for some sort of response. She just laid there, which made Sonic fear for the worst. He turned to run at Surge, but ATLAS blocked his path with a fist.
"OH no you don't, Hedgehog! You aren't getting away from me!" Eggman barked from inside the Super Badnik.
Sonic zipped around the arm, in an effort to evade crushing blows from ATLAS.
"STAND STILL!" Eggman barked from insides the super badnik.
Sonic zipped around as ATLAS smashed its fist down closer to Surge. Sonic jumped up and curled into a ball, slamming into the Super Badnik's joint, knocking the arm upward.
Sonic ran straight towards Surge as ATLAS staggered back. He scooped up Surge, and ran off behind a dune. Sonic lowered his head to her face, and pressed his ear close to Surge's snout. He waited carefully, for something, anything.
"HEDGEHOG, GET OUT HERE!" Eggman barked from across the sand as ATLAS smacked a sand dune, sending sand in the wind.
Sonic felt his ear get tickled. He looked down at Surge and saw her chest lightly rising and falling. Her mouth opened as she seemed to suck in air softly.
Sonic breathed a sigh of relief as he set her on the ground and turned to peak over the sand dune as Eggman seemed to kick up another puff of sand with ATLAS. Sonic then looked back down at Surge. She was resting, and there was no way she was going to be able to get back up and help him.
"Surge?" Sonic turned and saw Kitsunami standing there, looking horrified at the sight of Surge's collapsed form.
"She'll be alright, I think. She's just scuffed up pretty bad." Sonic explained with his hands up, trying to keep a gentle voice.
"ALRIGHT HEDGEHOG, IF YOU WON'T COME OUT HERE, I'LL COME AND DESTROY THIS TOWN!" Eggman's voice echoed across the desert. Sonic peaked up and saw ATLAS walking towards the remains of the town.
Sonic turned back to Kit, who picked up Surge, with his hands visibly shaking. Sonic sighed, "Listen Kit, I need you watch her and keep her out of danger, ok?"
Kit looked up at Sonic with a worried look in his eyes, before shaking his head and giving Sonic a determined nod, "I won't let anything happen to her!"
Sonic nodded back at Kit, before jumping over the sand dune and running across at the Super Badnik. He closed the distance and curled up into a ball, slamming into ATLAS' back. Unfortunately, Eggman seemed to be waiting for him, and Sonic slammed into the golden barrier.
He bounced off and flew to the ground. Sonic felt the sand get shoved into his quills before he jumped up and shook himself off.
"HOW NICE OF YOU TO FINALLY JOIN US!" Eggman barked with laughter.
Sonic grinned up at Eggmna, hiding the fact that he didn't have a plan at all, "Come on, Eggman, I don't like to keep you waiting." He took off and ran around the side of ATLAS. It was moving slower now, so Sonic at least had that advantage over it. He jumped at the side of the large gorilla badnik and curled into a ball.
He slammed into steel, and created a nice dent. Unfortuantely, the arm went in cover the weak point, and Sonic had to rush to get out of there. As he dropped down and zipped away to escape, He heard the sound of Tails flying overhead.
"We got the village evacuated Sonic, We're ready to help!" Tails called out over head.
"STAY OUT OF THIS, FOX BOY!" Eggman's voice shouted angrily as the glowing red eyes of ATLAS turned to face Sonic's two tailed brother.
Suddenly, ATLAS' left foot sank into the sand, knocking the Badnik off balance as its hand flew through the air, before falling onto the sand.
Knuckled popped out of the sand and gasped next to Sonic, "That should slow him down for a bit." Knuckled growled gruffly.
"THANKS KNUCKLES!" Sonic shouted and zipped over to the badnik.
Amy appeared running from the village, "Its my turn!" She shouted, hefting her hammer over her shoulder as she ran at ATLAS.
ATLAS turned to face her while still being partially stuck in the sand, "OH NO YOU DON'T!" Eggman barked, and threw a punch down at Amy.
Sonic zipped over and scooped her out of the way. It took a lot out of him, though, and Sonic caught his breath with Amy in his arms.
"My hero…" Amy sighed in a dream like state. Sonic didn't have time for this.
He set her down took a deep breath and felt the oxygen moving through his body. He saw the glint of the Chaos Emeralds over in the ground. Sonic zipped over towards them, when he heard Tails call out.
"SONIC, HELP PLEASE!" The fox shouted as he zipped around over head trying to slap his tails into the hand as it took swipes, only for them to slam into a barrier.
"ENOUGH OF THIS!" Eggman barked, and ATLAS began to rise out of the sand. Sonic saw the left hand reaching up to swat Tails.
Sonic zipped towards the Back of ATLAS and slammed into a barrier. Eggman cackled gleefully, "NICE TRY, HEDGEHOG!" Eggman gloated from ATLAS. He was still off Tails, though, and Tails retreated.
Eggman turned and began to trudge towards Sonic. Sonic got to his feet, and ran away.
"STOP RUNNING, HEDGEHOG AND GO DOWN!" Eggman barked at Sonic as the giant began to follow.
Sonic saw the red streak as Knuckles flew through the air, and slammed into a barrier that ATLAS made.
"DON'T YOU IDIOTS GET IT YET? I CAN'T LOSE!" Eggman gloated, raising ATLAS' arms in a taunting manner.
"It's the same thing every time!" Amy shouted as she ran down a sand dune.
"You'll lose all the same!" Tails called out from overhead as Eggman struggled.
They attacked together in a pincer manuever, going from below and above.
"Go, they're buying you time." Knuckles growled, popping his back before running over to help them.
Sonic nodded, whispering softly, "Thanks… everyone." He ran over to the chaos emeralds, and picked them up. As he cradled them all in his arms, they began to glow brightly.
Sonic reached out with his soul and closed his eyes.
"AHHH, I need some help!" Tails' desperate voice called out through the wind. Sonic heard the sound of metal and fur colliding, and Tails' tails stopped spinning.
"I've got you!" Amy's voice called out.
Tails grunted, "Gah, thanks for the save, Amy." His tails began to spin up again.
"YOU ANNOY KNATS! I'LL CRUSH ALL OF YOU!" Eggman's voice barked as Sonic heard ATLAS spin around and swing its arms.
"Pick on Someone your own size!" Knuckles barked, and ATLAS whirled around again.
Sonic felt his heart beating angrily as the cries of his friends fighting there without him. Still, Sonic stayed focused as the energy connected the last emerald to the rest, creating a large burst of energy.
Sonic arched his back and shouted as he became Super Sonic. He opened his eyes and saw the sand kicked up and his friends scattering around the giant badnik. Tails and Amy were running around ATLAS, swooping in when they saw an opening. Knuckles was busy digging under the giant badnik, and coming out around, getting him to spin around to try and hit the red echidna.
"HOLD STILL YOU RODENT!" Eggman barked as ATLAS raised its foot to stomp on the red Echnida. Knuckles burrowed under again as Tails went for the under-arm of the giant badnik. Tails struck and the arm flew up, knocking ATLAS off balance.
Amy saw Sonic flying in the sky, "He's up!" She swung her hammer down at ATLAS' foot. Unfortunately ATLAS stepped back as the hammer struck the sand. Amy looked up as the foot flew at her.
Super Sonic shot forward, and grabbed Amy, picking her up and flying her away from the battle. Sonic set her down, and flew back. He grabbed Tails and Knuckles, zipping them away from the battlefield, and setting them next to Amy.
"Oh… my hero-" Amy started, but Sonic didn't really have time to keep waiting.
Super Sonic flew back to ATLAS, "That's enough, Eggman. It's over now."
"Over… I'd say it's just beginning, HEDGEHOG!" Eggman barked angrily and the fist flew up at Sonic.
Super Sonic smirked, and stayed there as the fist flew right at him. Sonic couldn't be hurt in his super form.
The fist collided and Sonic felt the wind sucked out of him, as he shot into the sand and gasped for air. Super Sonic sat up and looked down at his arms. He had blue cracks all down his forearms and legs. They all met at his chest where the fist had struck.
His lungs suddenly felt so small, with so little air as he stood up. The cracks healed and became solid gold as Sonic put up a stoic face. How had Eggman hurt him?
"Did you forget, hedgehog? ATLAS drew power from the Chaos Emeralds, meaning this beautiful piece of machinery has all the strength of your precious little 'Super Sonic'." Eggman cackled with glee, though Sonic could hear the surprise in his voice.
ATLAS hadn't moved, and Super Sonic chalked it up to Eggman gloating as steam erupted from the arms. Sonic needed to go on the offensive if he was going to stop Eggman.
He flew straight at the Super Badnik, and dove between the legs as it lurched forward to swat him out of the sky. Super Sonic slid under the sand for style points, and flew straight towards the back of ATLAS, aiming for large boxy torso.
He was stopped by a barrier, which could apparently stop even Super Sonic. Still, he had to keep trying. Sonic flew up as ATLAS stepped back to swing around. Sonic zipped down on top of the badnik, going straight for the head. It would be messy, but he could try and knock out the controls without hurting Eggman.
Unfortunately, he was met with the same fate as when he tried to hit the back, and bounced off a golden shield.
Eggman cackled, "You'll get through this armor, hedgehog!" Atlas took swipes at Sonic as he flew overhead.
Super Sonic growled and jumped up. Then he got an idea. They could hit under the arm. That seemed to be a weak point. Of course, the arm was in the way, and that was shielded.
Which meant Sonic needed to get Eggman to take a swipe at him.
Super Sonic flew around in circles, just slow enough that Eggman could see him, "Come on, Eggy, take your shot!"
"STOP being a pest you miserable rodent!" Eggman barked at Sonic, throwing an upper cut at Sonic. Super Sonic spun around to avoid the blow.
He had moved that arm, but there wasn't enough room for Super Sonic to fly in. He'd need to get Eggman really riled up if he wanted an opening. "Come on, Eggman, at least try to hit me!"
"YOU'LL BE EATING THOSE WORDS!" Eggman barked as ATLAS' shoulders opened up and fired a volley of rockets at Sonic. Sonic flew around in a circle as the rockets gained on him.
Eggma gave an upper cut, and Sonic dove down, with the rockets still pursuing him. Heflew between ATLAS' legs, and the rockets struck the shield that appeared. Steam erupted from the badnik as it braced, blocking any damage.
"Come on, Eggman, You're old and blind!" Sonic barked as the machine stayed still.
Steam continued to erupt, before ATLAS moved again, "HEDGEHOG, I'll CRUSH YOU!" Then he did it. A wide swing at Sonic, causing an opening in the under-arm to appear. Super Sonic zipped down below the fist and flew straight at the opening.
Eggman tried to raise his shield, but Sonic slipped by and slammed into the weak point, ripping into it. Super Sonic flew through the armor, the spacing and then the battery, before bursting out the other side. He made sure to grab the battery and threw it into the sand as it exploded, sending bit of sand like birdshot at his face.
Still, Super Sonic could handle it.
The smoke died down, and Sonic turned to the stiff mechanical monkey that waited there to attack him. He flew up to the head, "Hey, Eggman, you still in there?"
"Just… get this over with." Eggman sounded so glum. Sonic almost felt bad. Then again, Eggman probably didn't, so Super Sonic just brushed it aside. He lightly kicked ATLAS, and it collapsed onto the sandy ground below.
The top of the Super Badnik opened, and Eggman crawled out with a sigh, "Well…. It looks like I lose again… You damned hedgehog."
"Yeah, but this is always fun. Now get out of here before the Restoration shows up." Sonic growled at Eggman, putting his hands on his hips.
Eggman paused for a moment, "You're just… letting me go? Are you so content with humiliating me you won't even treat me like a threat?" Eggman sounded outraged.
Sonic growled, "Surge is alive. If she wasn't I would be in a lot worse mood than I am now." Sonic glared at Eggman, before grinning, "I guess I could always take you in if you really want me to."
Eggman vanished with a speed that almost made Super Sonic feel jealous. Almost.
Eggman was gone and left the husk of ATLAS behind. Super Sonic released the chaos energy, and allowed himself to return to normal.
Speaking of Surge, Sonic wanted to go and check on her. He zipped across the sands and climbed up a dune. He looked down where Surge and Kit had been. He saw them crouched over, which made Sonic happy. At least she was healthy.
Sonic zipped down the sand dune, but as he got closer he saw Surge turn around with a burning glare at him. He saw a fire and rage in her eyes. Sonic felt like he missed something-
Starline was behind her, holding up a… Miles Electric handheld. Sonic slid to try and stop himself, but he was moving too fast. Sonic skidded forward as Surge reared her fist back and threw it at his face.
Sonic fell back and clutched his nose as Surge shouted, "DID YOU KNOW? DID YOU FUCKING KNOW?" Surge snarled at Sonic as he sat up.
Sonic blinked and tried to gather his thoughts, "Did I know what?"
Surge seemed to get even more pissed off at that, and then Sonic saw the Miles Electric spit up a hologram. A hologram of Starline's hypnosis glove.
Surge growled and walked aggressively towards him. Tails landed behind Sonic on top of the dune, "SONIC!" he called out as he ran down to meet his hedgehog brother.
Sonic, for his part, was trying to figure out why Surge was so mad at him, "Come on Surge, I thought we were friends!"
Surge snarled at him with that crazed look in her eyes, the kind that told him she wasn't completely in control, "I thought so too." She balled her fists and ran at him.
Sonic stepped back as she threw a swing at him, "Surge, what's going on?"
Surge kicked at his knee, and Sonic pulled back to avoid getting his leg snapped. She growled and curled into a ball at him, "YOU LIED TO ME YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" She threw her leg up in an axe kick.
"Surge, I don't know what's going on, but if you don't stop I'll fight back!" Sonic rolled back and got low, ready to spin dash.
"You better start! I'll fucking kill everyone you know and love!" Surge shouted at him, before rushing towards him, her eyes still glistening with rage and pain.
Sonic curled up and slammed into her stomach, knocking the wind out of her, "Surge, come on! We were making progress! What happened?"
"You happened! I thought you were my friend. I actually thought what we had was real, but it's all bullshit!" Surge shouted, picking herself up and rushing at Sonic again.
Sonic relaxed, and lowered his guard and Surge skidded to a halt as Tails ran down, "SONIC, I'M COMING!" Tails shouted in panic.
Sonic held up his hand, gesturing Tails to stop, as Surge snarled at the fox, "No, not now. What do you mean "It was all bullshit". It was real to me."
Surge grit her teeth and snarled at Sonic, "Don't bullshit me! I saw it! I saw your little copy, your blueprints! YOU FUCKERS KNEW I WAS WEAK AGAINST THAT FUCKING MIND CONTROL SHIT!" She sparked in rage and shouted violently.
Sonic tried ot raise his hands and calm her down again, "Surge, take it from-"
"YOU COPIED STARLINE'S GAUNTLET… You used it on us when we slept… when we weren't looking…. I buddied up to your ass too quickly." Surge hissed angrily.
Sonic shook his head, "Come on, we would never do that. Starline is manipulating you, can't you see that?" Sonic pleaded desperately, "Tails would never copy something like that. It's too evil, right Tails!" Sonic looked to his buddy for support.
Tails' ears were flopped down, which told Sonic what he didn't want to know.
"Tails?" Sonic asked as Surge panted patiently, her teeth gritting and sparking as Starline looked ever so smug in the distance.
"It was a piece of technology Sonic… I had to at least document it." Tails mumbled softly, before shaking his head, "But I never once wanted to use it!"
Surge snorted, "Yeah… Likely fucking story. Like you'd ever let power go to your head." Surge growled, and began to spark again.
Sonic had one last card to hope that she would see through it, "And you'll trust what ever Starline says?" Sonic asked, hoping to see a light go off in her head.
Surge snarled, "I won't trust anyone, Not him, not Eggman, and sure as hell not you." She got low with her hands opening to make claws.
Sonic knew there wasn't anyway to get out of this now. She wanted a fight, and he'd give it to her. He looked at Kit with one last bit of hope. The Fennec's eyes had darkened to angry state.
This was it. "No one jump in." Sonic stated, and bent his knees to mirror Surge's stance.
"Just you and me, bitch." Surge snarled at Sonic, staying there with burning tears of rage coming from her eyes.
Sand seemed to blow upwards with the wind as the two stared each other down. Sonic still felt the emotional part of his brain begging Surge to back down and maybe see what was going on. Still, the smaller, logical part of his head kept reminding him that Surge wasn't exactly easy to calm down when she was like this.
Surge rushed him down with a leap. Sonic rolled back, expecting her to jump on him. Instead she brought her foot down on Sonic's stomach, earning a gasp from the hedgehog.
Sonic grabbed her ankle, and pushed up to flip her on her back. He climbed on top of her and pinned her arms to the ground. He punched her in the stomach, and she gasped in pain.
His heart ripped from her whine. She was his friend, he loved her, but now she needed to be stopped, "Come on, Surge, give up. I don't want to hurt you!" Sonic pleaded as she winced and faced him again.
She grit her teeth, "I didn't want to be fucking lied to and manipulated-" She grabbed his face with her right hand, pushing his head back, "But we clearly can't get what we all fucking want!"
Sonic felt her fist collide with his stomach and knock him back. Sonic caught himself with his hand in the sand. He turned to find a kick in his face as Surge jumped at him. Sonic felt his nose start to run.
Sonic saw Surge jump up at him and stepped back before her foot collided with the sand, and kneed her in the chest. Surge fell back and Sonic jumped at her, curling into a ball, "I didn't use the glove!"
"I Can't believe a word you say!" Surge shouted, curling into a ball on her own. They zipped at each other and collided, bouncing backwards.
Sonic landed and caught himself with a hand, looking to see Surge ironically landing in the same way. Sonic huffed at her, "Are you really going to take Starline's word over mine? Come on, you know me and can trust me!"
"I can't trust anyone! Not you, not Starline, no one! This whole damn world wants to make me its bitch, its puppet, its fucking play doll! FUCK THAT!" Surge sparked in rage and jumped at Sonic with an electric punch.
Sonic stepped back as she land and missed her blow, before rearing her fist back and throwing another punch, "I'll end them all! Starline-" Sonic avoided another punch, "-The Restoration-" She tried to upper cut Sonic, and he leaned back to avoid getting hit, "-YOUR FRIENDS! ALL OF THEM!" Surge shouted, throwing one last punch at Sonic's chest.
Something switched in Sonic's head, and he grabbed Surge's arm and pulled her in, before kicking her in the back. She lurched onto the ground and gasped as air escaped her lungs. Sonic shouted at her, "YOU WON'T HURT ANYONE I CARE ABOUT!"
He loomed over her, perhaps a little angrier than he should have been. He waited for her to get up, and throw another punch. Sonic felt himself calm down, when he noticed the trembling in her body. She was laying on the ground in that pose for a while now… he kicked her pretty hard.
Sonic gulped, "Surge? Are you alright? Come on, stand up…" He leaned down as he quickly began to worry that he went too far.
She mumbled something as her legs began to inch towards her stomach. Surge was picking herself when Sonic asked, "What?"
"I fucking hate you… I put every last bit of faith I had in you… and you're no better that fucking FANBOY!" Surge stood up and swung her leg around at Sonic incredibly fast.
But Sonic was faster, and he stepped back, before kicking her in the side, sending her to the ground, sprawled out in pain.
"Surge, I didn't do anything to you. I promise!" Sonic pleaded, feeling his heart in pain.
Then he saw her face, tears pouring out of her eyes. They were not tears of physical pain, "Like I fucking trust a word you'd say!"
"I haven't lied to you." Sonic offered, hoping that maybe he could salvage this…
"FUCK YOU!" Surge shouted and curled into a ball. Sonic slid under her and kicked as she did, striking the under protected area underneath her.
Surge sprawled out in the air and landed on her stomach.
"Surge, I'm trying to save you." Sonic pleaded, hoping to maybe lead to a peaceful end to their conflict, if he couldn't salvage this relationship.
"YOU DON'T WANT TO SAVE ME! YOU WANT TO USE ME!" Surge shouted trying to lung at him, but her shoulder refused to move.
Surge panted a looked at it. And Sonic dropped his guard for the first time that day. The fight was over, they both knew it.
But Surge refused to accept it. She balled her fist in her good hand, and Surge launched herself at Sonic with a violent screech.
Suddenly, water tentacles wrapped around her waist, and pulled her back. Surge turned to see Kit, sitting there with a dark look on his face, "It's time to go." He muttered.
"Fucking hell… Fine, next time I see you, I'll fucking kill you and everyone you care about. I hate you." She muttered the words calmly, coldly. Not a moment of passion, but one of deep seeded rage. She had enough.
Sonic shook his head, "And I'll save you. I promise." The words left his lips as the sun was actually setting on him.
Tails waved a hand in front of Sonic, "You're starting to scare me."
Sonic turned and Tails backed away, before blinking curiously, "You were standing there a while." He mumbled, his ears drooping. They'd lost, that much was clear.
"W-what, they were just…" Sonic now felt confused, before sighing.
"They left an hour ago…" Tails mumbled drooping even more. Sonic sighed, before putting up a smile and scratching behind his ear.
"It's all good, buddy. I know they're gone. Looks like things are back to normal… even if I don't actually want them to be for once." Sonic sighed, before popping his back.
Amy was giving Sonic a concerned looked, and Knuckles was still sitting there, ever so stoic. It was his way of saying he cared.
"Come on guys, it wasn't a total win, but it was still a win. Let's go back and get some chilidogs, maybe something greasier… Come on. We WON!" Sonic raised his voice in cheer to try and raise everyone up. It… partially worked, as Amy gave a softer, still worried smile.
But they all yielded and followed him. After all… a win was a win, right?
/*-*/
Surge crouched above the rails of the train. The sound echoed through the tunnel of the subway system. She was in a… fair mood. Surge grinned down at her prize. The jerking form of Starline tied up on the track gave Surge a satisfied feeling in her chest.
I'm trying to save you! Faker-bitch's voice echoed in her head, immediately ruining the mood.
KILL SONIC, FIND HIM AND DESTROY HIM! Starline's voice screamed in her head.
Maybe I will… in a little bit Surge growled to herself with a smile as her blood began to boil. She felt so stupid. Surge hadn't noticed how quickly she'd just went along with faker. An idiot should have been able to see it.
Starline gave muffled screams as he thrashed about on the track. Did he really fucking think Surge was going to end him quickly?
"Come on Surge, you don't want this." A familiar voice spoke clearly above her.
Surge looked up and saw a poster of Faker-bitch, standing there proudly with a smile, as if to mock her, "Shut the fuck up!"
"You aren't right in the head. You need help. " The poster offered.
DESTROY HIM! The voice in Surge's head screamed. Surge didn't exactly feel like fighting it anymore. This was who she was. Surge jumped up and punched the wall with her fist, burning through the poster. She dropped onto the track and caught herself.
"You shouldn't kill him, it wouldn't be right." Faker's voice spoke from behind her. Surge looked around up against the right wall, and saw a row of posters lining it, like someone had to get rid of them all.
Surge snarled, "I need to do this! I need to be free!" tore down the poster that was speaking to her.
"You need a friend to listen and help you." The poster to the right mumbled and Surge tore that one down too. Surge turned around and saw the posters coming to life to tell her what she needed.
Surge took a step back as Kit grabbed her hand. She looked down at him and saw his hopeful expression looking up at her.
She sighed, before deciding to do something she hadn't done in… a while. Screw faker boy, "I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed, get along with the voices inside of my head. You're tryin' to save me, stop holding your breath. And you think I'm crazy, yeah, you think I'm crazy…" Surge began to sway her hips softly, giving the posters a taunting grin.
The poster-faker on the other side of the small room seemed to sigh, " I wanted the fame but not the cover of Newsweek, Oh well, guess beggars can't be choosey."
Another poster-faker sang from behind her, "Wanted to receive attention from you, see. You wanted to be left alone, sorry, excuse me."
Surge jerked around and stomped on the poster, only for the one right next to it to come to life, "For wantin' my cake, and eat it too, and wantin' it both ways. Fame made me a balloon 'cause my ego inflated!"
"When I blew, see, but it was confusing, 'Cause all I wanted to do's see you your view, see." Another poster whined from behind as Surge finished burning another poster on the wall. She jerked around and ran straight at the poster on the wall.
"Abused ink, used it as a tool when I blew steam (ooh) hit the lottery, ooh-wee." The poster sighed sadly, "But with what I gave up to get, it was bittersweet, It was like winnin' abused peace."
Surge snorted, and began to spark her hands as she grabbed the poster, "Ironic 'cause I think I'm gettin' so huge I need a shrink, I'm beginnin' to lose sleep, one sheep, two sheep, Going coo-coo." She snorted at the other posters and began to twirl her fingers around her head.
"kooky as Koala Keith, But I'm actually weirder than you think, 'cause I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed." Surge smirked and began to poke her temples with her index fingers, "Get along with the voices inside of my head!"
She kept swaying her hips in a taunting fashion, waving a finger at the poster, "You're tryin' to save me, stop holdin' your breath! And you think I'm crazy, yeah, you think I'm crazy!" She spun around and roared, "Well, that's nothin'!"
She panted as the posters all returned to their normal state. Surge seemed to calm down before sighing, "Well, that's nothin'…"
Those posters all looked there, smiling at her with a finger pointing up. She felt herself get angry all over again, "Now, I ain't much of a poet, But I know somebody once told me to seize the moment, And don't squander it!" She gestured to tied up Starline, who was now panicking, "'Cause you never know when it all could be over tomorrow, So I keep conjurin'!"
"Sometimes I wonder where these thoughts spawn from." Surge turned to look for the voice that said that. There a piece of one of the posters that Surge tried to burn, but it clearly didn't burn up right.
Another piece of poster that was torn, with a split Sonic's face on the ground, "Yeah, ponderin'll do you wonders, No wonder you're losing your mind, the way it wanders."
Surge plugged her ears and screamed, "Yodel-odel-ay-hee-hoo, I think it went wanderin' off down into hell and stumbled!"
"Because you need an interventionist, To intervene between you and this monster." A poster on the wall sang along.
"And save me from myself and all this conflict" , Surge snorted at the posters as she got angrier, "'Cause the very thing that I love's killing me?"
"And you can't conquer it." The poster Sonics sang.
My OCD is conkin' me in the head, keep knockin', Nobody's home, I'm sleepwalkin'" Surge growled, lighting another poster on fire, before laughing, "I'm just relayin' what the voice in my head's sayin'
Don't shoot the messenger."
Surge spun around as the posters began to light up, "I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed, Get along with the voices inside of my head" She smiled at the burning pieces of propaganda and taunted them yet again, "You're tryin' to save me, stop holdin' your breath! Yeah, you think I'm crazy, yeah, you think I'm crazy!"
She shouted down at Starline, "Well, that's nothin'!"
As the words left her lips, Surge heard a horn in the distance before grinning down at the tied up Starline, "Well, that's nothin…"

The song sang by Surge was "Monster" by Eminem and Rihanna.
So this is the most likely outcome thanks to mandates and corporate standards. That's assuming a story like this was ever approved.
There's not really a lot to say. I have one more alternative ending to post, and that's it for this story. Then I'll be pursuing another project.
I suppose if you like my writing, check out my other stories. Shattered is a recommended, and the Wolverine Saga is still being updated.
Please leave a review or send me a private message to tell me what you thought. I will respond to a private message when I can, and it will remain private. I will respond to a review when I post the next chapter.
