"Surge!" Sonic shouted, her body flying towards the sand. Sonic zipped forward until he could touch her back and began to ease her to a stop. He set her down, and watched her face carefully. Sonic leaned down to listen to her breathing. Nothing.

His heart began to twist and turn. She had her chance at a new life, and it was cut short. His body began to ache, his blood began to boil.

His eyes actually watered. What he wouldn't do for a chance to bring her back…

Sonic felt a jolt in his body, before jerking around at the chaos emeralds scattered in the distance.

"OH, BOO HOO. THAT'S ONE RODENT DOWN. TIME TO FINISH UP!" Eggman's voice cackled at Sonic with a taunting tone. Sonic felt himself get angry.

He could try and attack, or he could try to save Surge. He couldn't do both at once.

"FACE IT, HEDGEHOG. SHE WAS AN ABOMINATION, A FREAK THAT NEVER DESERVED TO EXIST. YOU BOTH ARE, STANDING IN THE WAY OF MY PROGRESS, HINDERING EVERYTHING I WORKED FOR." Eggman's voice stumbled with that tone, and growled, "NO MORE! I'LL WIN RIGHT HERE, AND THE WORLD WILL BE MINE!"

ATLAS began to move it's body as Sonic shouted in rage, before zipping straight at the Super Badnik Gorilla. ATLAS raised a high powered fist to punch straight down at Sonic, and punched straight down. Sonic zipped past the blow, and slide between the legs of the Super Badnik.

Sonic kept running in a straight line as Amy, Tails and Knuckles closed in to help fight the giant tyrant that tried to stop Sonic. He kept pushing, all the way to the emeralds, and picked them up.

He scooped each of them in his arms, and carried the precious gems back his wounded comrade. Sonic zipped around Eggman as he fired rockets up at Tails. Sonic's little buddy was too quick for simple rockets. The little fox zipped out of the way, and kept diving for blows against the shields.

Sonic skidded to a halt in front of Surge, kicking sand up oner her body. He frowned a bit before sighing, "Sorry. I know you probably want to sleep a little longer, but I don't want you to. Come on, let's finish this."

He picked her up and rested her limp head on his shoulder, before reaching out with his soul to touch the Emeralds. Their bodies began to glow as Sonic felt his heart elevate to a new height. His body began to glow as he hugged Surge close.

Thump Thump.

Sonic felt her heart beat again and he smiled. Surge was back.

They both began to glow with a golden light. Surge's quills began to turn an odd shade of red, copper as she bolted awake, "Wha- Faker, what the fuck? What just happened?"

"You're back Surge, and We're about to end this!" Sonic shouted as they both exploded into a golden light.

The two hovered over the ground, the sand having turned to glass in a beautiful display. Sonic stood across from Surge as she looked down and began to sway back and forth, trying to figure out what happened, "What the fuck is this?" Surge asked, looking up and down herself, before her eyes widened, "It feels good? Is this how you always feel before you go and smash a monster's face in?"

Sonic laughed, amazed at how she was still the same even after dying and coming back, or maybe it hadn't registered with her yet. Either way, Sonic laughed, "Yeah, I always feel great as Super Sonic. So I guess that makes you Super Surge?"

Surge turned back to face him with a bit of a recoil, "That's a stupid fucking name."

"We can work on the name later." Super Sonic sighed, pointing at ATLAS, who was still fighting Sonic's friends as they scattered about.

"Yeah, I got a bone to pick that fat fuck." Super Surge turned with her fists balled, before flinching a bit. Starline was still in her head.

Sonic should have rooted around in there and got rid of him. He wasn't thinking! Super Sonic didn't have time for guilt, there was a robot that needed to be smashed, and he was going to be the one to do it, "Let's get him! But Surge, we don't need to kill him."

"Yeah, yeah I got you. I'll settle for breaking his legs." Super Surge growled, before bolting straight at Eggman in a red flash.

Sonic would have to settle for that answer, so he picked up the pace on his own, and shot forward as Surge slammed into ATLAS's shield with a violent rush, staggering the steel giant as she did, "HEY ASSHOLE, I'M BACK!"

ATLAS staggered, before catching its footing, and throwing a punch into Super Surge, sending her flying, "YOU DAMNED RODENTS JUST WON'T QUIT, WILL YOU?" Eggman shouted.

Surge groaned as stabilized In the sky, angry with the sudden crackle of thunder lighting up the sky as she snarled in rage.

"Did that hurt?" Super Sonic asked, both alarmed and curious. Super Sonic was never really at risk, which was concerning if Surge could get hurt in her super form.

"No, I just let him launch me to make it more fucking interesting!" Surge snapped at Sonic, before recoiling slightly, and sighing, "Sorry, fucker."

"No problem, I guess we just got to be on our toes if we're going to crack this one." Sonic smiled up at her, "Ready for one last fight?"

"Let's fucking end this!" Surge shouted, zipping down.

Sonic shot down with her, moving to help her by slamming into the barrier once again. The two of them together turned the barrier a bright orange as their collision sent Eggman into another angry shouting.

"I DON'T CARE HOW MANY OF YOU RODENTS CHANGE YOUR COLORS, YOU WON'T STOP ME!" ATLAS screeched in rage and threw a fist up at Surge.

Sonic instinctively moved to push Surge out of the way and felt himself launched through the air. It did indeed hurt, even with the Super Protection.

"What are you doing, Asshole, Stop trying to help me and look out for yourself!" Surge shouted, dropping an axe kick onto ATLAS's front shield, causing it to turn red.

"YOU AREN'T ALONE ANYMORE!" Super Sonic shouted, diving down and slamming into the front shield. It finally broke, shattering into pieces.

"I KNOW!" Super Surge shouted, spinning into ATLAS's right knee, cutting off the lower leg, "STILL, FUCKING STOP BEING A MARTYR AND STAY ALIVE!"

Sonic shouted, "I'm just trying to help!" He curled up into a golden saw and flew into the left arm as it punched, splitting the knuckles and forearm. He burst through the shoulder and leveled out the other side.

"YOU ARE FUCKING HELPFUL!" Surge shouted at him, before slamming herself down on the other arm, cutting it off.

"STOP BREAKING MY BADNIK!" Eggman shouted, waving his arms around angrily, desperate. Rockets flew out of the back, knocking the super Badnik to the ground.

Sonic and Surge both flew around the rockets. As Sonic got closer to Surge, however, She began to twitch violently, angrily. It was taking all of her strength to keep from being overwhelmed by Starline's programming.

Super Sonic felt her hand reach out at him, and he jerked around to look at her. He saw the desperation in her eyes as she struggled with Starline's commands.

Sonic quickly flew away as Surge grit her teeth, and she began to spark. Her body pulsed with a wave of vengeful electricity.

What was left of ATLAS was spinning around in the sand, trying to right itself as Surge slowly lowered herself over it.

Super Sonic watched carefully, incase he needed to swoop in and save her.

Surge hunched over, as if she was about to get sick. As Sonic moved in, Surge arched her back, and screamed as a violent storm of hot plasma blasted the Super Badnik, sending pieces of metal everywhere.

Sonic dove down as she landed, panting as she caught her breath. He landed in the middle of the debris, and scanned the area for-

A chunk of metal flew up, and Eggman crawled out of the rubble, looking angry, "You filthy rodents…" He growled, before slumping down, "I guess I lose again. I hate you all."

Super Sonic zipped in front of him, "You crossed a line Eggman. You hurt a lot of people."

"Oh please, I didn't hurt anyone but your friends. This is one of my nicer evil schemes." Eggman rolled his eyes in retort.

Super Sonic growled, but he wasn't wrong. Eggman didn't really affect anyone beyond the mind fear of his badniks being close. That didn't change the fact that he was planning to do some pretty bad stuff. Sonic growled in his throat as he balled his fist, "You were still going to hurt a lot of people."

"Yes, well… it didn't happen that way, now did it, Rodent?" Eggman snarled, slumping down. He was looking for a way to escape, Sonic knew it.

Sonic released his super form, and fell down, before looking back up at Eggman, "You're going away for-"

"AAHHH!" Surge shouted, clutching her head.

Sonic jerked to look at her, only to see her rushing straight at him. He didn't even have time to react before she threw a hand out at him. Sonic felt his muscles tighten in his fight or flight sense.

But she didn't grab him. She grabbed her own hand and pulled away, before she screamed, "I HATE MYSELF!"

Tails and Amy came in. Surge's eyes jerked to Tails, and Sonic felt a need to protect his little buddy. Surge shot at Tails, and Sonic zipped forward to intercept her. Unfortunately, Surge had a split second head start, but instead of hurting Tails, she grabbed the pouch at his waist.

Sonic stopped as she pulled out the warp ring, she ran a few feet away from them.

"SURGE!" Sonic called out, as she stopped.

Surge turned to look over her shoulder, "I can't stay here. I need to get this under control… Thanks for the fucking help."

"Surge, we can fix-" As he spoke, she dropped the pouch, and threw the warp ring, with Kit rushing after her.

"KIT!" Tails called out as the two disappeared.

They were gone… Sonic stood there, frozen at the realization, unaware of the doctor's escape.

/*-*/

The ground was soft as Surge landed on the grass, she kept running. She didn't know what to do.

HUNT SONIC

Surge skidded to a stop to clutch her head, feeling the splitting headache. She screamed as Starline continued to bash against her skull.

KILL SONIC!

Surge scratched her head, and let out some tears.

DESTROY HIM!"

"Surge?" Kit's voice shook her out of her fucking rage. She turned to him as the pain seemed to be lulled by a hug on her leg.

"Hey Drippy…" Surge sighed, patting his head as he hugged her leg tighter.

"Surge… why did we go?" Kit asked softly, sadly. The little shit was sad, and she couldn't blame him. She wanted to go back so bad.

"I was going to kill him… I need to get this under control." She wanted Sonic. She wanted to hurt him. She wanted to hug him.

"Why are we here?" Kit mumbled looking past her.

Surge was a little confused, before she turned and saw the large building with the bell on it. She sat there, and sighed, " I guess I just thought about something here I wanted."

The days was winding down, and Surge didn't know where else to go. She couldn't stay with Sonic, she'd hurt him, or kill him. Maybe she could crash at this place.

Surge pushed the door open, and saw the benches… strangely full. The mobians inside wore a variety of clothing, most

The sheep stood on the stage, looking down at a podium and smiled, "For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans three, verses three and four tell us this. It is not to say that you are broken, and horrible, or worthless. It is to say that no one is perfect."

Surge felt something stir in her heart at those words.

"We have all done things that would be irredeemable in the eyes of God. This is why the death and resurrection are so important, because with the death and resurrection, anyone can be saved." The sheep proclaimed, raising his hands, "No one is too broken, or helpless to be saved."

Surge wiggled her wrists together.

Kill sonic

It a pretty little lie. Surge knew the truth, that she was broken. Yet she stayed there. He went into the process of being "saved" and the importance of "redemption." Surge sat and listened.

Then, it all came to a close. The people got up and left, with a few passing Surge some curious or outright suspicious glances.

"You wanna fucking fight?" Surge snapped at an old mobian monkey who shook his head at her.

The old monkey stepped back in terror as Surge's fists sparked.

"Excuse me miss, but please refrain from fighting in the house of God." The sheep at the podium asked.

Surge growled, before sighing, "What ever. Fucking loser."

The old monkey ran out. Surge was left alone with the sheep. He smiled at her, "Hello again. I'm glad you came to visit."

"Yeah, well, whatever. Drippy's here too." Surge groaned, reclining back in the bench.

"Did you hear the service?" The sheep asked, smiling calmly.

"Yeah, yeah, a bunch of bullshit about being "redeemable" or some shit." Surge groaned.

Kill Sonic.

"I assure you, anyone can be redeemed, through Christ who gives us strength." The sheep continued that stupid fucking smile at her. She just insulted him and he acted like a fucking retard, just smiling away!

Surge snarled, balling her fist, " Yeah, sure, what ever!"

The sheep cocked his head as Kit placed a hand on her side, trying to calm her down, "You didn't come here to hear the good news, I take it."

Surge felt another burst of anger well up inside her, " Yeah, nevermind. Fuck this shit." She stood up.

"Wait, please, stay for the evening service." The lamb actually pleaded, with his face frowning into a beg, "We will have food afterwards."

Surge was about to continue walking, before her stomach rumbled. She snarled at herself.

The lamb smiled softly, "We have some food here, too."

Surge turned to him, and yielded.

Kill Sonic.

She ate some simple porridge and water.

The lamb didn't seem to bother her, and instead was talking with other mobians dressed in black outfits.

Finally, Surge finished her food, and Kit finished his. The Sheep walked back over to her, and smiled, "If you were hungry, all you needed to do was ask."

Surge growled, before sighing, "I… don't have anywhere to fucking go. I've hurt a lot of people, and I'll fucking hurt more if I go back."

The Sheep blinked at her and nodded, "Then you can stay here. We have extra beds. We will ask that you help out, sweeping, cleaning, simple chores to keep the church presentable."

Surge growled, but leaned back, "Fine, damn it."

"Also, please limit your swearing. I understand habits are hard to break, but we do have children attend the service, and the Lord's words are very clear about swears and curses." The Sheep demanded.

Surge growled, "I don't promise shit." Who the hell was he to tell her what to fucking do?

She ended up staying behind, and listening to the evening service. It talked about some fucked up trial, a guy getting nailed to a tree, and then back to everything that the earlier service talked about. Same old shit, different set of paint.

More talk of redemption, more talk of bullshit.

Then, the service closed, people dropped some money in a plate, and left. Well, Most of them did.

Surge then saw a group gather in the front row. The sheep sat down with them as Surge pulled out the broom to do her fucking job. She began to sweep up bits of dirt, and actually found it to be a nice distraction from Starline's voice in her head.

She kept sweeping, but may or may not have also been listening in on the conversation.

"I'm… three weeks sober… The temptation is really bad. I'm trying to keep it under control, but I pass a bar whenever I go to work." A pig mumbled in the group, "The people are laughing and having a good time in there."

"I'm very proud of you. You are trying. We will pray for your strength. Might I suggest taking another route, maybe through the park. It might be good for body as well." The sheep smiled at the pig. The other members began to clap for him.

A lion sighed, "I've… had another outburst. I lost my temper… I've tried taking a breath… I just snapped. It wasn't even a big deal. She just moved my stuff… I shouted, and threw things… I hurt her. I didn't mean to, I just…"

Surge continued to sweep in the convenient direction of Team Fuck-ups.

"I see… you tried breathing... and it didn't work." The sheep sounded concerned.

The lion nodded, rubbing his temples. Surge could see tears from the glance she took. The pussy.

"Then you may wish to consider penance. I won't force you to, that is the real challenge. Come to the church during the day, and we will work on tempering your rage. Everyone, I ask you to keep Bernard in your prayers, he needs strength, and as iron sharpens iron, so too does one man sharpen another." The sheep gave the command and the heads all nodded.

Surge… was a nosy little shit. Kit was cleaning better than her, as she listened to their stories. The kind of shit she had on them was… pretty fucked up. They shared it all freely. What could make them do that?

They left after huddling together, and mumbling with each other. The sheep was trying to help them… so maybe…

Surge saw the tired look on his face as he was ready to leave. She walked up to him anyway, "Hey!"

"Yes miss?" He was still so fucking respectful. It was frustrating.

"Do you really think anyone can be redeemed? Even a piece of shit like me?" Surge growled, looking at her hands, quickly closing them into fists.

"Of course. Through Christ, all things are possible. Even if they require a good deal of effort on our part." The sheep smiled at her, making her feel a strange sense of warmth and comfort, like she knew he wasn't going to try and hurt her.

"I want that…. How do I get it?" Surge demanded, cutting out a word that he wouldn't have liked.

"Well, you can start with your story. I won't pass any judgement. " The lamb continued to smile at her as Kit walked up to her side.

Surge looked down at him. He looked up at her, and gave her a nod of approval. This was the first step to them getting control of their lives.

She sighed, and started her story, "I'm Surge… Surge the Tenrec, and I was created… turned into a weapon to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog."

/*-*/

The last chapter is Surge going down her own road of redemption, seeking help from God and new friends.

Alright, That's Compromise. I might do a rework, with a little bit more fighting between Sonic and Surge, and a lot of minor spelling/grammar mistakes.

If I get any reviews by the end of May, I'll post a last chapter purely to answer any questions or comments made.

Speaking of which… the review message. A private message remains private unless otherwise requested. Reviews will be answered in the last chapter, PMs will be answered as soon as possible. Thank you.
