"Wait, so you're what…human now? How the hell does that work?"

"Well…more like a human with skin that's as hard as steel. And it's not permanent, the effects only last twenty-four hours so I'll be back to normal by tomorrow morning."

"That literally does not explain anything."

They were walking across campus, the sun was out and shining beautifully, and the cool winds of winter had finally given way to the warmth of late spring. Exams had finished up the day previously, and Kara and Percy were both enjoying the calm warm afternoon, reveling in not having to spend their afternoon tucked away in their own personal corner of the library.

"Okay, so Clark once told me that we have the ability to…release the excess energy that the yellow-sun grants us. It's powerful and it totally worked too," She gushed, still reveling in the post-battle euphoria that followed her after nearly every fight. "The asteroids didn't know what hit 'em! But it almost knocked me out entirely."

"Huh," Percy grunted, scratching behind the back of his ear, as he always did when he was thinking. Kara had to force herself not to stare at the way his forearms strained against the movement, and the vascularity in his arms.

"So, how's it feel?" He asked,

"I dunno," Kara admitted, "Not that different honestly. Like I still feel like me, but whenever I try to fly I just sort of…"

"Fall back to earth?" Percy suggested teasingly, and Kara elbowed him in the ribs,

"You know," Percy observed as he rubbed his ribs, "I think I enjoy this version of you more, that hurts a hell of a lot less than usual."

Kara let out an indigent squeal and shoved him, though she didn't bother to hide the laugh that escaped her.

Percy jogged back to her, matching her pace again,

"Seriously though, since you're human for a day, is there anything you want to do that you couldn't do as your normal you?"

Kara bit her lip anxiously, there had been something she'd wanted to do, something she'd been thinking about for most of the day.

"You know Rebecca, from our marine bio class last year?"

"Yeah, redhead, a little shorter than you, always sat in the back looking like the walking dead?"

"Yeah," Kara giggled, "That's her, well we still see each other, and she invited me to a party tonight…I think I want to go. We're in college…and it might be my only chance to really get drunk…so…"

"Do it," Percy encouraged, "Even you're allowed to have a little fun every now and again."

Kara arched an eyebrow, "Not going to try and talk me out of it? Tell me the perils of underage drinking?" She exaggerated with a wild gesticulation of her hands.

Percy snorted, "I feel like I'm literally the last person on the planet to tell you not to do something stupid." Kara smirked, and bumped his hip with her own.

"But really, go out, have fun. Live like a real nineteen-year-old for the gods sake. You deserve some fun, deserve to not have the weight of the world bearing down on your shoulders every ten minutes. I think it'd be good for you."

Kara flushed, ducking her head and averting her gaze. She should have known that Percy would have supported her desire to have some fun, he was always encouraging her to do what she thought was right. It wasn't that he was a yes-man, far from it in fact, and that was precisely why Kara felt as reassured as she did. If Percy had genuinely thought she was making a stupid decision, he would have said something, as he always did.

Smiling happily at Percy, they made their way back to her apartment, Percy always insisted he walk her home, and she was loathe to deny him, before departing, saying that he was filling out work application's for that summer. Since he was no longer working for that Kent man—who she was later told by Diana was actually Kent Nelson, the old master of the helmet of Dr. Fate—Percy was in need of work else he went insane. His words, not hers.

Kara whiled away the hours of the afternoon and early evening trying to determine what she wanted to wear that evening, and applying her make-up and everything else associated with getting ready for a girl's night out.

She was giddy with excitement, she'd not had a real human night out since her arrival, she'd been kept too busy between her studies, and her duties as Supergirl to go out and have these kinds of nights on the town. And more importantly, her Kryptonian physiology kept her from becoming inebriated, it flushed the alcohol out of her system so quickly that it would take likely several gallons of liquor for her to feel so much as a minor buzz.

But not tonight.

Not when she was more human than Kryptonian.

Tonight, she would not have to be the symbol of hope that the symbol on the chest of her uniform prescribed her to be. There would be no world-ending threat or sudden calamity to drag her away. No mission. She could be herself, she could be normal. And she would enjoy it. Checking her phone, and seeing that her friend Rebecca was waiting in the taxi outside, Kara sent Percy one last text, checked her reflection in the mirror, and raced out the door.

A night of fun awaited her.

BREAK

Percy let out a heavy breath as he hit submit on the application. He wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of working for an aquarium, they were notoriously cruel to their animals, but Percy was desperate for anything at this point, and maybe it wouldn't be as bad as he was thinking it would be.

Reaching out he grabbed his mug and took a pull of his now, annoyingly cold, coffee. Picking up his phone, he sighed when he saw that there were no new messages, he shouldn't have felt disappointed, Kara should be having fun and living it up, enjoying herself. But he was going to indulge himself in some petty selfishness and wish that his best friend was with him.

Throwing his phone back onto his desk he rose, groaning slightly, and enjoying the way his back popped. Walking over to his kitchen, he reached into his fridge and pulled out some cold pad thai he and Kara had the night before. Grabbing a fork, he took a large bite and threw himself back into his work chair. He was contemplating whether or not he wanted to fill put another application or just say screw it and watch some TV, when his phone started vibrating. Confused, Percy reached over, trying not to feel too pleased to see Kara's name, and the picture of the two of them at the Kent's farm at Thanksgiving that year.

"Hello?" He asked, pressing a finger to his ear to focus better, there was thumping music in the background and Percy was finding it difficult to decipher anything,

"Hey," An unfamiliar female voice said on the other end of the line, "Is this Percy? Linda's boyfriend?"

"I'm not-" He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Who is this, and why do you have Linda's phone?"

"It's Rebecca, I think we took marine bio together last year."

"Yeah, I remember, where's Linda, is she all right?" He asked, worried,

"She's fine, she's fine." The girl said, the words coming out a little slurred, "She's just, um-"

"Peeeeeercyyyyyy!" A very familiar, and very intoxicated voice suddenly said into the line, and Percy smiled as Kara barged her way onto the call,

"Hey Linda," Percy said, doing his best not laugh, "You having fun?"

"Oh my gosh, I'm having soooooo much fun," She slurred out,

"You might want to pick her up," Rebecca said, "I think she's-"

"I threw up Percy!" Kara shouted, entirely too excited,

"O-kay then," Percy said, "How about I swing by and pick you, how's that sound?"

"Oh my god that sounds sooooo good!" Kara gushed and Percy chuckled,

"I'll be right there," Grabbing his coat he walked out of the apartment. It was only a ten-minute walk from his apartment to the townhouse, and Percy could practically hear the sound of the music blasting from two blocks over.

He barely walked one step into the house before he was nearly bowled over as a blonde missile propelled herself into him. Kara leapt onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck and coiling her legs around his waist.

"Percy!" Kara screamed into his ear, and Percy could smell the liquor on her. "I can't believe you're here!"

"It's so weird," Percy laughed, looking over Kara's shoulder and seeing a group of vaguely familiar looking woman giggling and taking photos of him and Kara. Ignoring them, Percy shifted Kara a little in his arms, taking care not to touch more than her very bare thigh.

"Hey," Percy said, "You want to go for a walk,"

"Yes!" Kara screamed again, clinging even tighter to him,

"All righty then, come on." Percy said, setting Kara on the ground, but she whined in annoyance,

"Okay then," Percy said patiently, "Piggyback ride?"

Kara squealed again and before Percy could say anything she was hopping onto his back,

"Onward!" She shouted, pointing out the door.

Chuckling, Percy carried Kara out of the house, ducking slightly so she avoided smacking her head on the doorframe.

"Where are we going?" Kara whined,

"Home, you've drank a little more than you can handle I think," Percy said,

Kara rested her chin on Percy's shoulder, nuzzling herself against Percy's neck in an entirely too distracting way.

"What are we gonna do when we get home," She asked, her voice suddenly…different. Huskier, and Percy nearly dropped her when he felt something warm and wet run up and down his neck,

"Did-did you just lick me?" He asked incredulously, and then sucked in a breath when he felt her bite down gently on his earlobe. He let out a shuddering breath, and tried to compose himself, in spite of the sudden rush of heat flooding through him.

"Kara," He asked, his voice thicker and deeper than usual, "What are you doing?"

"Nothing," She sang out, as she continued her nuzzling,

"Gods be good," He muttered in Greek, as he continued their walk.

Warm hands reached down from around his neck, and began rubbing small circles around his pectorals, and Percy grit his teeth.

"Sweet Rao you're hot," Kara muttered and Percy sighed,

"And you're drunk," Percy observed. He was trying his best to ignore the tingling sensation that shot through him as Kara's soft hands rubbed across the fabric in of shirt.

"And you're sexy," She giggled, "Two can play at this game Mr. sexy."

This uncomfortable back and forth went on for some time, Kara drunkenly poking, prodding, and rubbing at him, and Percy doing his utmost to maintain his composure and ignore the way his body was reacting to her touch.

Blessedly, before too long they reached Kara's townhouse,

"Kara, I need your key," He said,

"You're gonna have to take it from me," She giggled,

"Kara," Percy pleaded, "Please,"

"Nuh-uh," She said, before yawning widely, and nuzzling against him, Percy sighed, he was tired, and horny, and entirely too conflicted to be dealing with this at the moment. Glancing around quickly so as to make sure they were well and truly alone, he channeled his power and both he and Kara were enveloped in water vapor, before they were transported inside of the townhouse, in Kara's bedroom.

"Woah," Kara giggled, "Tingly,"

"You get used to it," Percy said wearily, letting go of his hold on Kara's legs and gently dropping her to the floor. She landed unsteadily on her feet, wobbling slightly, and Percy had to reach out and grip her around the arms to keep her steady.

"Oh no," Kara slurred happily, "You've got me all alone now, whatever are you gonna do to me now?"

"You're going to put on your pajama's and get to bed," Percy said tiredly,

She rounded on him, "But maybe I don't want to go to bed," She said stalking forward, and Percy unconsciously began backpedaling,

"Kara," He warned, only for her arm to dart out and push him painfully against the wall,

"Okay, super strength is back." He groaned out, and his arms darted out and caught Kara's hands which were about to wrap around his neck,

"Kara," He said, mustering as much patience as he could, "You do not want to do this,"

"Yes I do," She whispered, "I've never wanted anything so much in my life."

Percy closed his eyes, and mastered his emotions and composure,

"Don't…don't you feel the same?" She asked, and tears began welling up in the corners of her eyes,

"Of course I do Kara!" Percy finally snapped, his freeing patience and mounting desire becoming too much for him to bear, "Gods be good Kara, I've never wanted anything more than I want you. But you're drunk, and I'm not doing anything with you when you're like this." He sighed and rested his head against the back wall,

"Go to bed Kara, I promise if you still feel this way in the morning I will not turn you away."

At that moment, Kara's mouth cracked open in another jaw-shattering yawn, and she collapsed forward, her head resting against his shoulder and light snores escaping her.

"Gods be praised," He muttered. As he hefted the sleeping woman into his arms and walked her over to the bed. He briefly considered trying to put her in pajamas but ultimately thought better of it, kind as the gesture would be it would still be taking advantage of her. Tucking her into bed he walked into her kitchen, drew her a cup of water and grabbed a couple of aspirin from the bathroom cabinet. He didn't know if it would actually do anything when her powers came back, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Placing the cup and medicine on the night stand by her bed, Percy adjusted the blankets on the bed somewhat and made sure that she was tucked in comfortably, before brushing a few strands of stray hair out of her face.

Kara shifted, singling more comfortably into the bed. She let out a happy sigh, and subconsciously reached out and grabbed the small stuffed dolphin that Percy had given her some time ago.

"Love you Percy," She mumbled, and though Percy couldn't tell if she was actually awake or not, his heart raced all the same.

"I love you too, Kara." he said softly, before bending down and pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. Kara smiled and let out a contented sigh, before rolling over again. Before long, her breathing grew heavy and she was fast asleep.

Sighing, Percy ran a hand through his hair. Hopefully she wouldn't remember this in the morning, but he didn't think he'd be that lucky. He thought briefly about going back to his apartment, but he was exhausted, and he just wanted to sleep. Going to the hall closet, he pulled out a spare blanket he knew Kara kept inside, and set himself up on the sofa in her living room. Tucking himself into bed, he let out another deep breath. Whatever the morning brought, he realized that it had felt decidedly good to finally say the words to Kara out loud.

Whether she remembered or not.

BREAK

She was warm, warm and comfortable. She groaned, the sun was peeking through the blinds in just the most annoyingly perfect way to hit her in the eyes. Sighing in frustration she opened her eyes, not for the first time immensely thankful that her Kryptonian physiology kept her from experiencing most of the ills associated with human physiology.

Sitting up stiffly, she realized with a start that she was still wearing the dress she'd been partying in the night before. Her ears perked up as she heard movement downstairs, and as she sniffed, she could smell the delicious scent of waffles and freshly cooked bacon mixed with sea-spray.

"Percy," She said fondly, realizing he must have gotten her last night. Her eyes crossed and she tried to remember exactly what happened the night before. The memories came flooding back to her and her hand's shot to her mouth.

"Oh Rao," She muttered, collapsing back into the pillows. What the hell had she been thinking, she'd been all over him! Hell she'd tried to seduce him! How was she supposed to look him in the eye ever again. But then, something else from last night came back to her, she could have been dreaming, but she didn't think she had been. She'd…she'd told him she loved him…and-and had he said it back? Did that actually happen or did she just dream it? She gripped her hair in frustration.

"I'm never drinking again," She groaned,

"You aren't the first person to say that." A voice called out from the door to her room, and Kara groaned. She'd been hoping that she at least would have been able to change before dealing with her follies from the night before.

Her bed dipped down as she felt Percy sit down,

"How're you feeling?" He asked,

"Fine," she said, sitting up and drawing her stuffed dolphin to her chest, "Powers are back…no hangover…"

Percy nodded, smiling down at her, "You have fun last night?"

Kara nodded, "It was…it was great. It was…awesome, just being able to-to be me, you know? I was just Kara…not Supergirl, or anything like that…" She bit her lip anxiously, and looked away,

"Percy…about last night," She started,

"It's fine," Percy said quickly, and Kara felt her heart constrict painfully.

She came to a decision.

"Did you mean it?" She asked, looking up, her heart hammering painfully in her chest, "Right before you left…what you said…that-that you loved me,"

She watched Percy gulp, his pupils dilate, and she could hear his heart race. She could smell the sweat perspiring on the base of his neck,

"I did…" He said, and Kara felt herself rise from her bed, floating up from the covers. She approached Percy, her face coming level with his.

Her hands rose, cupping his cheeks and gently pressing her forehead against his.

"Say it…" She breathed, "Please…say it again…"

His breath was hot on her lips,

"I love you," He said, this voice barely above a whisper. His heart, though racing, was not palpitating with the vibrations of a lie, and Kara felt her eyes grow wet.

"I love you too," She whispered, then brought his face to hers.

The kiss was chaste, timid even. Neither were experienced, Kara had only ever kissed one other boy before, during her younger years on Krypton, but she was a fast learner, and so too was Percy.

His hands wrapped in her hair, and she dug her hand into his shirt, fisting it tightly and drawing him in as close as she could. Their passion only grew, their embrace becoming more intense.

"Clothes. Off." Kara grunted, as Percy shifted, sucking and nibbling at the nape of her neck, his hands wandering, probing, gently groping at her.

"You sure?" He mumbled against the nape of her neck, and Kara literally growled, before gasping and losing her concentration, falling from the air only to be caught by Percy. She wrapped her legs around his waist, shuddering in mounting pleasure at the feel of him pressing up against her.

"Percy," She snarled, "I swear to god if you don't-"

She was cut off as Percy threw her on the bed. She let out a gasp, and watched in barely restrained awe as Percy peeled his t-shirt off.

He was mesmerizing.

Smirking at her, he climbed slowly onto the bed,

"Where were we?"

Their first coupling had been awkward, the uncertain fondling and fumbling of a couple who didn't really know what they were doing, but it was magical all the same. Never in her wildest dreams did Kara ever think she would physically or emotionally connect with another person in the way that she did with Percy. It was more than pure physical or carnal pleasure, though it had most certainly been pleasurable. But it was the raw, emotional connection that really sang to Kara, the feeling of Percy pressed against her, his voice in his ear, raw and choked with emotion.

It had been even better than Kara had imagined, and she had imagined quite a lot.

She snuggled in deeper to Percy, running a lazy hand over his chest, her fingers dancing along the small hairs.

"So, what now?" She asked, and Percy pulled her a little more flush to his body,

"I don't know," He said, "I've…never really done this sort of thing before."

"The sex?" She grinned,

"Relationships," Percy laughed, poking her on the nose.

"I guess…it doesn't really have to change anything." Kara mused, "The girls last night…they all just sort of assumed we were dating anyways. I guess we just…do what we we've always done…with perks."

"Perks?" Percy smirked, and Kara grinned up at him, "And what, miss Zor-El," Kara shivered as her name rolled off his tongue, and felt a familiar heat pool inside her,

"What kind of perks are those?"

Kara rolled, leveraging herself on top of him, and she could feel him stir against her, the sensation flooding her with newfound desire.

"I can think of a few," She teased, before leaning down and capturing his lips in another kiss.

Kara had dreamed of this for over a year, and now that it was finally here?

They had a lot of catching up to do.

AN: Well that felt fucking good. Congrats you guys, you made it! I had a lot of fun with this one, and cliché as the concept might have been, it was what I wanted to write and I enjoyed the way it turned out. Now there's still plenty of story left to tell. Getting together is only the beginning, and there's plenty more for these two idiots in love to experience. Trials to overcome, and lives to lead. I don't know when I'll get back to this, but rest assured that even though the pre-written chapters have run out, I will be returning to this at some point for more wholesome goodness! As always shoutout to Double0Sxvxn for being an awesome Beta and dealing with my bullshit and as always if you enjoyed this but haven't checked out my other work, give them a try you never know you might find something else you like. I'm also on discord now, where I and a bunch of other writers hang out, chat and brainstorm ideas, you just have to copy the link that's in my profile bio if you want to come and hang out with us. Stay safe, stay healthy and have an awesome week.

All My Love and see you next week,
