Chapter Nineteen:
Bringing Back Weegee Time
Many miles away, in the fire-filled depths of a castle surrounded by lava, the great Koopa king known as Bowser stood upon a drawbridge with Princess Peach locked in a cage behind him. The mighty turtle was waiting for something to happen, he usually came to beat him and save the princess, but something was very wrong.
"WHERE IS THAT PLUMBER?!" Bowser shouted, "I GOT HIS PRINCESS AND HE DOESN'T DO THE COURTESY OF COMING TO SAVE HER! AND I RECEIVE WORD THAT HE'S... GOING ON AN ADVENTURE IN INKOPOLIS! WHO DOES THAT WITHOUT COMING TO SAVE THE PRINCESS?!"
Peach banged against the bars of her cage. "MAAAAAAAAAARIOOOOOOOOO!" She wailed, "WHERE ARE YOU, MARIO?! MARIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"I could let her escape..." Bowser growled, "BUT WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT WHEN THAT PESKY PLUMBER FINALLY SHOWS UP TO SAVE HER! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! THIS IS THE WORST DAY IN KOOPA HISTORY BEYOND COMPREHENSION!"
The Koopa King stomped his foot and threw his head back, letting out a volley of fire that scorched the walls of his very domain.
In the dry and desolate desert, a bird sat upon a skull and a tumbleweed rolled through. Engine rumbling shook the sand and an RV drove by, leaving a trail of wheel marks in the sand behind it as it rolled along.
SMG4 remained at the driver's seat, his hand firmly on the wheel. In the back, Mario and Meggy were trying to break the firewall's spell on the former's brother, attempting to get him to remember who some of his friends were.
But so far, nothing seemed to work, it was if Luigi had no recollection of the prior adventures, had amnesia or had never experienced those past events.
"Come on, Luigi..." Meggy pleaded, "You don't remember me at all?"
"I don't even know you..." The green-clad Italian replied with a look of unease, he then looked at Mario with an upbeat smile, "Come on, Mario. Let's save the princess..."
"C'MON, LUIGI, DON'T LET THOSE NINTENDO FOOLS GET TO YOU!" Mario grabbed his brother and started shaking him as Meggy watched with wide eyes, "YOU ARE MY BROTHER, LUIGI. TOGETHER WE GO ON STUPID MEME ADVENTURES WITH SMG4, WHO MAKES VIDEOS BASED ON THEM!"
Just then, the van jolted and Mario went stumbling into the front and slammed his face against the window. SMG4 had slammed on the brakes and the RV had come to a stop, standing idly by in the middle of the open desert.
"Ok, this should be far enough and we should be safe for now." SMG4 said, looking around to make sure they weren't about to deal with any… suspicious characters. Mario rose to his knees, rubbing his head from the minor concussion.
SMG4 stood up and studied Luigi closely, then he looked down at his overalls as though he couldn't believe he was about to do something he didn't want to do.
"Was going to save this for later…" The meme man said, reaching into his pockets, "But here, take this meme."
SMG4 pulled out the contents of his pocket that he was reaching for; An AOSTH Robotnik head i.e. A PINGAS meme. Luigi gulped, almost taken aback by what he was seeing.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what that is…" The green Italian quipped uncertainly.
Mario lunged for Luigi, grabbing the Robotnik head from SMG4, and pinned him, his own brother, to the ground. "ITS A POWER UP, LUIGI!" The fat Italian yelled, "JUST TAKE IT!"
Luigi tried to resist and push Mario off of him, but his efforts were in vain as Mario forced the PINGAS meme into Luigi's mouth, making the green Italian eat it even though it may as well have come off as force-feeding, usually not a wise move depending on the situation.
"Please…" Mario begged, "Turn my brother back to normal."
He made sure Luigi bit every last inch of the Robotnik head and retreated, watching Luigi closely until the meme apparently took effect. Luigi froze as his eyes widened; his mustache briefly enlarged.
And in seconds, the green plumber's mind was exploding with memories of every wacky adventure he'd been on with the Glitchy gang. It all came back to him, like traces of a dream.
And his eyes glowed, unbeknownst to the group, Luigi was seeing other things in his mind too; shapely women in bikinis and large muscular men with ripped bodies, the women in bikinis mostly got him going before he thought of working out and getting ripped.
Luigi's eyes then reverted to normal and he got back up. The green plumber looked around, regaining his senses as his eyes met the gaze of Mario and Meggy, both of whom were looking at him with grave concern.
"Mario? Meggy? SMG4? Was I gone for a while?" He asked.
"LUIGI, YOU'RE BACK!" Meggy cried happily as she embraced him, just like with Mario when he reverted back to normal on the rooftops of Moray Towers.
"BROOOOOO!" Mario exclaimed as he joined in on the hug, "I WAS SO WORRIED! I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO BE A NORMIE FOREVER!"
SMG4 smiled. "Well, now that's done..." He said, "We need to stop all of this legal nonsense once and for all and get our home back..."
"How can we do that?" Meggy asked, "We can't just go up to Lawyer Kong or Miyamoto and force them to take down the firewall."
"Meggy, you're coming with me." SMG4 said. He went outside and everyone heard thumping noises, followed by the sound of motorcycle engines. Mario peaked out the window and saw SMG4 on the back seat of a motorcycle, the meme man looked inside the RV and gestured for Meggy to join him.
Meggy stepped outside and climbed onto to the motorbike, taking the wheel with SMG4 behind her.
"Start driving." SMG4 instructed, "I'll explain on the way!"
Meggy smiled and nodded, then she gripped the wheel and put her foot on the gas, the bike's wheels churned and sprayed sand in multiple directions.
As Mario and Luigi watched, their friends drove off across the desert, leaving them behind. Mario ran outside, worried for Meggy and SMG4, what if they got caught by the Nintendo Ninjas?
"WAIT, WHAT ABOUT US?" The fat Italian cried.
"MAKE SOME MEMES AND START CURING EVERYONE IN THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM!" SMG4 called back, "TURN THEM BACK TO NORMAL, MARIO! WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU!"
"WAIT, HOW DO WE DO THAT?!" Mario was confused. But then, he looked inside the van and saw Luigi eying a computer and some science tools. And despite his low intellect, it all clicked. SMG4's instructions were understood, the Mario Brothers had work to do!
