Chapter 7: Pancakes With A Side of Flirt

Birds are heard chirping away

Kevin moved his arm to realize he was holding a pillow. He was wondering where the raven beauty had gone. He could smell Dee's perfume on the pillow, mixed with the smell of something that smelled like green apples. It was intoxicating to him. He felt himself get hot from thinking of Dee in her T-shirt. He then slapped himself. "Kevin you need to calm down, you can't have a boner right now. Dee might walk in," he took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. Kevin slowly and quietly went to get his phone. He knew the perfect date for today and needed to buy the tickets for it. He quickly went to the zoo online, and ordered two VIP tickets. As he was about to turn off the phone he got a call. He answered it slowly still barley waking his voice up.

"Kevin Barr, where in the H E double hockey sticks are you," a woman said over the phone. He could feel himself turning red from embarrassment due to him forgetting to message his mother last night.

"Ma, it was my bad I ended up staying at a friend's last night. I completely forgot to call you," Kevin said running is fingers through his hair.

"Oh sugar cookie, you had me worried all night. Are you at Nazz's," she said in a not surprised tone.

"Actually ma, I ain't with her anymore. It's along story I'll tell you about it when I get home in an hour, love you." He said as he hanged up the phone. He got up from the bed and looked at the mirror, he saw his toned body as he winked at himself. He could then hear Dee singing.

Song of Oldies playing through the house

Kevin quietly opened Dee's door and was met with the smell of bacon. His stomach growled, he hadn't eaten since yesterday morning. He quietly walked down the stairs and saw the most beautiful thing he had seen these past few days. Dee was mixing pancake mix as she sang softly. Kevin wish he had a camera to capture such beauty in the morning. As she tried to reach the pitcher from the top shelf she felt a slight nudge and then a arm reach and grab the pitcher. "Thank you Kevin," Dee said slowly grabbing the pitcher barley noticing that Kevin was almost 6'2, and she only being 5'7. She blushed softly. "I never noticed how tall you are Kevin," she said as she started making orange juice from the source. "I guess it would be hard to notice since your always reading Dee," Kevin said as she saw freshly made orange juice, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and blueberry pancakes. "You sure did make a feast didn't you," Kevin said slowly wrapping his arms around her. "Well an athlete like yourself needs all the energy he can get," Dee said giggling at Kevin's touch. Kevin slowly whispered in her ear. "What's cooking good looking," Kevin said as he smelled the green apple scent again. It was coming from Dee's long hair. Dee giggled and placed the tea kettle on the side to cool. "What are you eating Dee?" Kevin asked amazed by the food. "I'm having a hot tea and some egg whites," Dee said setting the table for them.

Before Dee could even pull her seat Kevin had already pulled it out for her. "Such a gentlemen Kevin, where did you get such manners," Dee said teasing. Kevin blushed "Ma always said treat women correctly," Kevin said as he took a seat next to her.

Dee looked at how quick Kevin attacked the plate of pancakes. Kevin had the expression of satisfaction from how good the food was. He never met anyone who cooks almost as good as his mother. Before he could say anything he was met with a napkin and a giggle from Dee.

"I see the breakfast is up to your standards," Dee said giggling as she took a sip of tea. "Dee it's delicious, just like your kisses," Kevin said winking noticing a blushing Dee.

Once they were all done Dee got up and was about to collect Kevin's plate, but was suddenly pushed on his lap. Her face bright red as she turned to her left to see Kevin smiling. "You really are something you know that, right," Kevin said as he slowly kissed her arm. "Now you seat while I do the dishes," he said as he placed Dee on the chair next to him and collected all the dishes. Once all was clean he dried his hands and walked over to Dee. "Now I have a surprise for today so please be ready by four today," Kevin said as he kissed her forehead. "Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes," he said winking. "Is this like a adventure I presume ?" Dee asked with an eyebrow raised. Kevin laughed as he slowly put on his shoes. "Everyday with you will be an adventure Dee," Kevin said as he smiled.

Dee slowly got up and walked over to Kevin. "Are you leaving already?" Dee said pouting. "Ma is worried and I needed to change out of these clothes for the ones for our date," Kevin said hugging Dee. "I promise I'll be back by four Dee, I swear," Kevin said slowly lifting Dee's chin. "I'll be waiting for you," as Dee finished her sentence she felt Kevin's lips on her's. "I'll see you in a few hours then," Kevin said slowly opening the door. Both not wanting to leave each other's sight. As the door closed Dee felt her heart beating as if walking on air, and Kevin smiled all the way across the street home. Both excited for today.
