Ice Cream and Crocodiles
Dee had finally got done packing her backpack for the date. She even made Kevin a meatball sub, with extra sauce. For herself she made an Italian sub.
"I wonder if.." before she could finish she heard the door bell ring.
she quickly ran to do the door breathing calmly as she opened the door. Before she could even say anything Ed and Eddy ran in straight to the kitchen.
"Gentlemen cease, and desist," she said rushing to the kitchen.
The Ed's had ate not only the meatball sub,but also the Italian sub. Dee was amazed not only by how fast they could eat, but how they still looked for food.
"Dee got any chips," Eddy said stuffing cookies in his mouth
"I want chunky puffs," Ed said pour a big bowl of cereal.
"gentlemen I hate to intrude on your lunch, but I have a date tonight," Dee said cleaning up the mess as she threw away the trash.
"A date, but Dee today is Friday," Eddy said swallowing the cookies. "We haven't had one since you know, you became a girl."
"Eddy I would love too, but I already made plans. How about this after my date you all come over and we can have a movie night like old times." Dee said smiling
"Zombies From Outer-space," Ed said chewing the last remaining puffs.
"Sure lumpy, so who is the date with?" Eddy asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Well I can't tell you Eddy, I'll tell you about it once I get back," Dee said blushing.
As the Eds and Dee walked to the front door. The door bell rang.
"I'll get it," Ed said opening the door and gasping as he saw Kevin
"what is shovelchin doing here," Eddy said chewing a toothpick
"I'm here to pick her up dork," Kevin said eyeballing Eddy.
"So that's why you didn't want to tell us who your date was," Eddy said as he snapped for Ed to follow.
"Some friend you are, after all the times he bullied us and everything," Eddy said as he walked passed Kevin
"I've changed since then you know, I'm not like that anymore," Kevin said standing next to Dee.
Dee was in complete shock she had wanted to tell the Eds but didn't know how to bring it up.
"Eddy please I...," before she could finish Eddy cut her off
"Dee just talk to us after your date with Romeo," Eddy said sarcastically
As both Eds walked away in a distance Dee could feel herself tearing up. She had gone through a lot of things with the Eds that she hopes this doesn't ruin their friendship. She could feel a tear wanting to escape but was stopped by a firm hand.
"Dont cry Dee," Kevin said rubbing her cheek as he slowly kissed her forehead. "I'm sure the Eds will get use to this," Kevin said kissing her check.
"Oh Kevin your so sweet," Dee said sniffling as she touched his hand. "Shall we get going ?" Dee said barley noticing Kevin in black shorts, a green muscle shirt, and his signature red cap wore backwards.
"Kevin you look rather dashing," Dee said blushing as she reached for her backpack. She waited for a reply but saw Kevin in a daze. "Kevin are you okay," she said walking towards him
Kevin had been staring Dee's legs and her butt. "I wonder how she fits in those jeans," he though but before he knew it Dee was checking his forehead.
"Kevin are you feeling alright, your burning up," Dee said trying to get the thermometer.
"Yeah I'm fine beautiful, I was just distracted," Kevin said blushing. Dee blushed as well feeling nervous
"Should I go change," Dee said looking down at her shoes.
"No you look amazing," Kevin said lifting Dee up giving her a hug and breathing in her perfume. "Shall I carry you to the car?" Kevin said raising his brows up and down.
"Kevin put me down people will see," Dee said giggling as Kevin placed her down to lock the door. Just as she was about to turn around she heard a woman's voice.
"Sugar cookie, remember to be safe and call us if anything happens," Mrs. Barr said. Both her and Dee made eye contact as they both smiled.
"Okay ma, please go inside your cramping my style," his said playful. "Sorry my mom is noisy she wanted to see what you looked like." Kevin said walking next to Dee.
"How embarrassing she saw me dressed like this," Dee said turning red.
"Nah you look fine beautiful ma don't judge or anything, by the way she wants to invite you over for dinner," Kevin said looking down kicking dirt "if you want to come over that is."
"I would love to Kevin, but won't they know about you know," Dee said nervously.
"Dee even if they know it doesn't matter I'm the one instreasted in you," he said as he opened the door for Dee. Dee was excited but nervous about meeting Kevin's parents. As she though Kevin got in the car and buckled up. He put on his music as he looked at Dee.
"Want to know where we are going," he said smiling. "It's somewhere with lots of plants."
"is it the nature resort ?" Dee said giggling
Kevin laughed and said "I guess we shall wait and see."
*30 mins and a zoo sign later*
"The zoo," Dee said her eyes wide with surprise. She giggled as she looked at the parking lot.
"Surpised you huh ?" Kevin said parking and undoing his seat belt. "Want me to carry your backpack turtle dove," Kevin said opening his door as he closed and ran to open Dee's. Dee handed him the backpack and looked around. She quickly kissed him on the cheek and blushed.
"Your too cute babe," Kevin said chuckling as they walked side by side. He looked at her hand then his but before he could grab her's, she grabbed his.
"Do I have consent to hold your hand Kevin," Dee asked nervously. Kevin was speechless he had always been the one to make the first move.
"You sure can Dee," Kevin said as he gave the girl the tickets to walk in. Dee was having an amazing time taking pictures of the flamingos, monkeys, even the elephants. Kevin was enjoying watching the lions, hippos, and sharks. Dee took a picture of Kevin with many birds around him as he feed them seeds. They stopped for a moment to apply sunscreen and to get some ice cream.
"I'll pay for them Kevin, please allow me to contribute to the date," Dee said taking out her cash.
"No Dee I pay, it's the gentlemen thing to do." Kevin said as he winked at her.
"I guess I'll make dinner then when we go back to my house," Dee said blushing. Remembering about the subs.
A man around Kevin and Dee's age was working the ice cream scoop. It wasn't till they were next Kevin noticed who it was.
"Jason dude I didn't know you worked at the zoo, rad," Kevin said fist bumping the guy.
"Dude I didn't know you were gonna be here, who is this babe with you," Jason said as he winked at Dee. Before Kevin could introduce Dee, Jason cut him off.
"Nice to meet you cutie, I'm Jason, ten times better looking then Kevin," he said laughing as he kissed her hand. Kevin quickly grabbed his collar and moved him from Dee. Pushing her closer to him as he wrapped his arm around her waist.
"This is Dee, my date," Kevin said grinning as Jason gasped.
"Woah dude what about Nazz," Jason said as he got the scooper.
"it's along story man, but we aren't together," Kevin said as he smiled at Dee.
"What flavor of ice cream would you like cutie," Jason said to Dee
"Can I please have pistachio?" Dee said blushing as she felt Levin grab her hip harder
"I'll have rock road dude," Kevin said as he got his cash out of his pocket. "Thanks dude, we'll catch you at football practice next week," Kevin said as he handed Dee the cone. As the walker Dee turned and saw Jason on the phone still eye balling Kevin and herself.
"Sorry about that, he is a big flirt with the ladies," Kevin said licking his ice cream.
Dee blushed "that may be so Kevin, but I've only got eyes for one man," Dee said blushing as she licked her ice creams.
"who may that be," Kevin said winking
"oh just a certain red head," Dee said giggling as they made it to the crocodile pit. She was so excited she quickly ran with Kevin holding her by the hand. There they were the two crocodiles in their little late waiting for the keepers to feed them.
"Did you know Kevin crocodiles have the strongest jaw in the animal kingdom, and can hold their breath for an hour underwater," Dee said smiling as a flash went off. It was Kevin taking a picture.
"I had no idea, but they sure do make you happy. No wonder they are your favorite," Kevin said smirking.
"How did you know they are my favorite," Dee asked blushing
"Because I remember how you did a paper on them, that's one of the reason I brought you to the zoo," Kevin said finishing off his ice cream. He could see Dee turning Red as she took awhile to say anything, he knew it was his time to ask.
"So I was wondering, would you like to be my girlfriend," Kevin said as slow as he could trying not to be nervous. He could see Dee was speechless. He was worried he might had been to forward.
"If not then it's.." before he could finish he was hugged by Dee.
"Yes Kevin, I would very much like that," Dee said feeling her and Kevin's heart beating.
"that's rad, I mean cool," Kevin said chuckling. As he and Dee stood there watching the crocodile's feast. Their hands in twined together. For both of them nothing could top this. They both felt happy and excited for their relationship. As they began to walk back there was a photo booth.
"Kevin could we possibly go in there," Dee said showing puppy dog eyes.
"Anything for you babe," Kevin said as he and her walked into the booth. As he inserted the dollars the photos began to be taken. First funny faces, then a regular smile one. Before the next one Kevin moved Dee to his lap and looked at her as she looked at him. Their lips meeting as the photo was taken. Hearing "awe," and "how cute," made both of them blush.
As they walked out of the booth their photos were prepared. Two copies. Kevin handed Dee one and he kept the other.
"This is going to be in my locker this year," Kevin said walking as he grabbed Dee's hand. Dee looked at the photos smiling
"I guess I shall add mine to the locker as well," Dee said blushing.
They laughed and talked as they got into the car. They listened to rock and talked more about the animals. Before they knew it they were home.
"I guess this is goodbye for now huh," Kevin said showing a weak grin.
"Actually Kevin would you like to have dinner before I go to Eddy's," Dee asked nervously
"Choice that sounds rad," Kevin said smirking
Dee knew this was her chance. He made it official and wanted to not only have dinner with Kevin, but wanted to be his dessert. She knew she had him where she wanted him, and already had a plan to tease him even more.
"I'll have dessert ready as well," Dee said winking as they walked into the house. She knew it was going to be a evening of passion and pleasure. Kevin shut the door thinking only if spending time with Dee and enjoying her cooking not knowing what dessert Dee had in mind.
