The campers (except for Heather who was taken to the Dock of Shame and boarded the Boat of Losers where she will be taken to show staff to be held until the show was done filming) were taken to the campfire pit and they all sat down except for Lincoln and Dawn with the pieces of paper to cast their vote with Chef Hatchet holding the ballet box. "Why don't you both leave them to discuss their potential choices and let them have all the time to decide before we get on with the most dramatic campire ceremony yet!" Chris suggested with Lincoln and Dawn stepping away to let the other campers have their time as Edward followed closely by.
"Who do you think they are going to pick Edward?" Lincoln asked the platypus who shook his head, clearly not knowing an answer to that question. "Me neither Edward especially as I have had problems with some people who may still have some bad feelings from previous incidents even if I think we cleared most of them up. Duncan for example I don't know..." Lincoln admitted and Dawn sighed looking like she agreed.
"Definitely; most of the auras of our fellow campers read as undecided and uncertain. It could very well go either way but still... No matter who wins, no hard feelings?" Dawn asked with a smile which Lincoln returned as he held her hands with his.
"Silly of you to even ask that; we both agreed beforehand and I see no reason for that change!" Lincoln replied; "Besides no matter what I am going home a winner; I am able to get over a messy break up, I made it to the final 2 with the most amazing girl and I get to have her as a girlfriend." Lincoln told her and she giggled.
"Likewise for me; I promise you that you are not being broken up with again because your girlfriend couldn't honour an agreement. We both agreed to split the money, I would hate the idea that the prize money would get in between us!" Dawn replied with Lincoln grinning at that.
"Yep with you using your half and me... Probably using it on comics and games or some other thing... Maybe if someone I knew needed help..." Lincoln said as they just waited staring at eachother with their arms folded.
A while went past as Chris came to collect them; "Your fellow campers have all voted and they have all been counted; the final result is in." Chris told them and they both thought that this was it as they went to rejoin the campers at the campfire pit with the campers all trying to keep a straight face.
They then faced Chris waiting for the result; "Now here it is; THE most dramatic campfire ceremony in the short history of the show... The final result has been tallied and I will tell you that it was a wide margin..." Chris said and they young couple even with their agreement couldn't help but feel anxious and tense as they waited.
The teenage Canadian fans who would be watching at home and had gotten to this point were anxious as well.
A large boy by the name of Beverly but better known as 'B' was silently watching, Dawn was his favourite to win but Lincoln was a great guy who deserved to be with such a sweet girl so he will be okay with either result.
A girl called Zoey felt her spine tingling; "Come on Chris... The anticipation could actually kill me..." she muttered.
"This is like the final minute of a game where both teams are tied..." muttered a jock boy by the name of Randolph Jackson who was nicknamed 'Lightning'.
"This had better not break them up; I will actually kill someone if it does!" cried a girl by the name of Sierra who was watching in her room filled with photographs of Cody.
In Michigan, Royal Woods across the pond Lincoln's friends were watching together and were holding their breaths.
At the Sunset Canyon Retirement Home; Lincoln's maternal grandfather Pop-Pop and his second wife Myrtle were watching with the staff begging for Chris to just say the result already as the anticipation could actually kill the residents there who had weaker hearts. "Come on Lincoln!" Pop-Pop said having to root for his grandson despite liking Dawn along with the rest of his family.
"Lincoln better find a way to bring her here; I want to get to know my future granddaughter in law!" Myrtle swore thinking about everything that they had both seen on the show with her step-grandson and the girl who would become his new girlfriend.
The Loud family including the parents all managed to make it to the Loud House to watch this finale together as well; things were tense as well. "This had better not break them up; I would literally kill if it does..." Lori swore as she wondered how this anticipation was affecting her yet to be born child.
"Come on; they both agreed and Dawn is like super sweet! She won't let Linky down like Ronnie Anne did, no offense..." Leni said knowing how the break up was still a sore subject for her.
"Indeed; I bet she would never break Lincoln's heart. I have told Great Grandma about the show and she has been supporting Lincoln and Dawn getting together from the beginning as well." said Lucy who had been Dawn's biggest supporter amongst the sisters since the first episode.
"If she does then I am going to find a way to get to Canada and prank her so bad! It will be April Fool's Day times infinity!" swore Luan.
"I would so beat her up!" swore Lynn Jr as Luna snorted.
"That's if she doesn't fight back and kick your butt like she did Lincoln..." Luna commented as the Loud family were speechless about that wrestling challenge and Lynn Jr indeed took it the worst. They had to pause the TV for half an hour to give her time to calm down and then afterwards she promised that once Lincoln gets home she is putting him through mega training which made the rest of the family scared for the poor Loud sob. Lynn Jr glared at the rocker sister as they looked back towards the TV.
Back in the actual show Lincoln and Dawn held their breaths as Chris smiled at them; "Lincoln, Dawn..." Chris said using his hands to get them to to turn around to face the campers as he then held their wrists. They closed their eyes hoping that it would be over with.

They both felt their arms being lifted up and stared at the cheering campers and then noticed the other hand their arm lifted up as well. "...Congratulations you both to being the co-winners of Total Drama Island!" Chris announced as they were both stunned and just stared at the cheering campers.
Duncan, Izzy, Harold, DJ, Eva and Leshawna had all casted their votes while the rest were struggling to come up with their choices. "This is like the hardest choice I have ever had to make in this entire show! Lincoln and Dawn have both been great friends and they have worked hard... I don't know what to do!" Bridgette almost cried as Geoff comforted her.
"My choice was clear; I went with the weird hippie girl as I couldn't believe that she was able to kick his butt so bad! Serves him right for almost costing us guys a shot at the spa!" Duncan said still not over that little incident as Courtney shook her head at her boyfriend.
"I went with her as well; as much as I appreciate Lincoln helping me out with my MP3 player... The wrestling challenge clenched my vote in favor of the hippie girl." Eva said simply.
"Yep; same for me as she just impressed me too much with what she could do with so little meat on her bones." Leshawna put in.
"I went with my bro Lincoln; he helped me realise how much of a bully I was acting and how I could be dissapointing my Mama. He helped me make things right with Harold and get a chance to apologise and forgiveness." DJ said with a smile.
"Same for me; he really helped me out and got you guys off my back!" Harold said.
"He got my vote as well; a boy who wouldn't give a second thought to putting himself to be killed by an escaped killer to save the girl he loves... I wish I had a boy like that!" Izzy said glaring at Owen as he mumbled what had to be the thousandth apology.
"Oh man; this is so hard... There is always the chance that this could come between them and I would hate that if Sadie and I got to the final 2 and this could break us apart again..." Katie said looking like she was about to freak out.
"I thought so too... If only I could vote for them both to win like I would want us both to win..." Sadie said as they blinked and excitedly put that down.
"Novel idea but you could just be wasting your votes as I doubt that the rules will let them both win." Noah brought up and the campers looked at Chris who was now grinning.
"Wait, are we able to vote for them both to win?" Gwen asked and Chris nodded shocking them.
"Why didn't you tell us that before?" Courtney asked with her arms fodled as she got up from her stump.
"You didn't ask." Chris replied simply as Courtney sat down agitated.
"I mean why not; they both said that they intended to split that prize money between them." Tyler pointed out and the rest of the campers came to the decision.
"You dude and dudette worked so well together and both impressed in many ways in the challenges; we couldn't decide who deserved to win more..." Geoff said with nods in agreement as Lincoln and Dawn looked speechless.
"Here you two are; we thought this might happened so here are your checks!" Chris said passing them both giant checks for 50 thousand dollars each as they both smiled at eachother. "Plus the final 2 marshmallows!" Chris said passing them both the final marshmallows as they tossed them into eachother's mouths.
Then they found themselves being lifted up onto the shoulders of their fellow campers as they cheered for them with Edward jumping up to jump into their laps. "Best result this could have gotten!" Lincoln told Dawn and she nodded.
"Indeed; we both go home to our families as winners but... Long distance relationship? We could message and email eachother and try to think of a way to meet up again?" Dawn asked Lincoln who thought about it and smiled as he nodded.
"My sister Lori made a shorter long distance relationship work with her boyfriend before she moved away when she went to college; they are now married with a child coming." Lincoln told Dawn as there were laughter from Chris.
"Looks like it will be the first kid that will be calling you 'Uncle Lincoln', plenty of more to come if how many kids your folks got is to be used as an example..." Chris laughed and grew nervous as the campers looked at him with an evil look on their faces.
"Come on guys... Please, do you know what the cleaning bill for these clothes are like or how much I pay to get my hair just perfect..." Chris cried as he was being forcefully carried up into the air by the campers to the top of the huge cliff that was part of their first challenge. They waited by the cliff as Lincoln ran up to join them as all together they made the big throw over the cliff.
The sound of his screams and big splash as he hit the water with the area with the sharks in them was music to their ears. "I have been waiting all Summer to do that..." laughed Chef who had joined them but then they were smirking at them. "Come on now; even together do you dummies think that you could push me down here?" Chef asked as Lincoln laughed.
"We know; the reason why I took a while to join the rest was that I was getting hope from my new friend." Lincoln smirked as the campers made room and Chef was stricken with horror as he heard the robotic sounds and stomps as Bull Bot made his appearance.
Bull Bot made his ran and charged as he pushed Chef off the edge; "My mother wanted me to work in day care, why didn't I listen..." cried Chef as he started screaming like a little kid once he was falling into the water.
"I... I am so proud of you Bull Bot! You see Breakfast Bot; what your brother just did?" said Sidney 'Sid' Chang amongst the Chang family in their apartment home in Great Lakes City when they got to this point in the finale. Sid's parents as well as her younger sister Adelaide watched along with Breakfast Boy as Sid was taking pride in what her newest invention had just done.
"That was for all the animals you brutalised making that disgusting Brunch!" Dawn yelled over the edge of the cliff as the campers laughed together.
"What should we do now that the show's over, wait for us to be picked up?" asked Justin as Lincoln and Dawn smiled at eachother as they ran off with Edward staying with the campers.
"I think they are going to have a victory make out." laughed Tyler as Duncan started leaving.
"I am going to go find Chris' cottage and dig through the remains; see if there is anything that survived worth stealing." Duncan said.
"It was a mansion... Ah forget it..." Courtney sighed finally giving up.
Lincoln and Dawn definitely felt like winners as they were on the boats to pick up the campers; saying goodbye to their new friends swearing that they will make this long distance relationship work. The Total Drama Island winners were glad to have signed up for the show as despite the obstacles and the challenges that they had to compete in; they both found new friends and found eachother to be better than their prize money.
Sorry to disappoint those hoping for an ending and an alternate one but this was the endgame ending from the start of the story.
