3rd person

It had only been a month since Jonathan was killed and everything was going well right? Clary had found out some news that was devastating and Jace obviously didn't know. Unfortunately Jace had been chosen for a special mission he was going to be gone for 3 weeks. Jace had been hesitant about leaving Clary in New York alone but, Izzy had pointed out to Jace that Clary still had Izzy, Alec and Magnus to take care of her. No one knew the secret but Jocelyn, Maryse and Luke. Clary had told the three that she was going to be staying with her mum and they didn't think anything of it. She had to start treatment and with Jace gone she could set up a treatment plan so she didn't have to tell him, she knew that when she told him he'd be over protective and she would become his priority.

She would miss Jace of course but she was glad for him to not see her like this so fragile and ill. Izzy called Clary up of course to go to Pandemonium or somewhere else but she said no every time making up excuses. Clary's hair had started to fall apart her bones were week and she was sick every time after eating or after her treatment. Jocelyn had tried her best to make Clary feel better and sometimes it worked, but Clary knew that her mother was hurting her self for letting her daughter become Ill.

"Jace is home today Clary, he's going to want to see you." Luke said but Clary just shook her head and looked up at him,

"He cant see me like this he'll be crushed." She spoke weakly and when she finished there was a knock at the door. Luke sighed before getting up and going downstairs to see who it was but they knew already who it was.

"Hey Luke is Clary here?" She could hear his sweet angelic voice all the way from her room, she had missed him so much.

"No she out with Jocelyn right now sorry maybe come back later?" Luke lied,

"Oh Ok well when she comes home tell her to come by the Institute." Jace said sighing and letting his shoulders sag, Luke nodded before shutting the door. Clary used a lot of strength to get up and walk to the window to see him, the sun beamed off of his golden hair causing a rim that looked like a halo. Luke was watching her when he spoke,

"He's going to come back clary you know this he loves you." Clary looked towards Luke and noticed his crystal blue eyes were duller and he had rings around them as if he hadn't slept.

"I know Luke but I can't let him see me like this I've told you that." Luke sighed before leaving the room leaving Clary alone as she always was after she had treatment. She slept most of the time but still she was left alone to draw or watch things.

Jace pov.

She wasn't there. I miss her and I just want to see her again. I don't know why but, there is something wrong and I could tell by the way Luke looked today it was as if he hadn't slept. I waited for Jocelyn and Clary to return because Jocelyn's car wasn't there. It was about 4:30Pm when she had gotten home. There no sign of Clary so maybe Jocelyn took her to the institute to see me, I grabbed my phone and called Izzy to see if Clary was there but of course Izzy didn't answer. Sighing I just started to make my way back, when I got there Izzy Alec and Magnus were all round the kitchen table eating Taki's,

"Hey any of you seen Clary today?" I asked and everyone shook their heads.

I sighed as I sat down grabbing a box of coconut pancakes when Magnus spoke. "She wasn't there just now?" I shook my head and continued to eat.
"Weird." Izzy sighed.

"Why would that be weird Izzy?" I spoke.

Alec tensed up which was weird had they not seen her since I left? "Because we haven't seen her since you left Jace and when ever Izzy called her up to ask if she wanted to go on a mission she would always have an excuse but she's most probably fine ok Jace, don't worry." Alec spoke confirming my suspicions. Once I had finished my food and I was about to go to Clary's to see if Clary was there,

"I'll be back soon guys." I called out before shutting the Institute door, they all said see ya later. I left to check up on Clary, but something was wrong I could tell. Clary's bedroom light was on but Luke and Jocelyn's car was not there so I knocked the door but there was no answer. So I barged the door open.

Nobody's pov

Jace yelled "Clary are you there!" She was too weak to get up she tried but the darkness was threatening to pull her under but before it could she heard feet running up the stairs, "Clary where are you baby?" Jace was saying. When he found her room he took in her appearance her frail skin her dull emerald eyes, but her eye lids drooping shut as he rushed over to her side and grabbed her hand. He grabbed her stele and traced the permanent Iratze rune on her arm but it just faded. Her breaths were short, so he did the one thing that he hoped he would never have to do. He called an ambulance.

"Hi what service do you need?" The operator greeted him,

"It's my girlfriend she's struggling to breathe and she's really pale." Jace responded franticly,
"Ok sir help is on the way I just need to know the address." She spoke calmly. He told her the address and she ended the call after she said "Try to keep her awake."

"Clary stay with me. Look at me baby look at me." He said holding her in his arms rocking back and forth, it wasn't until he heard a knock at the door he stopped. He left her for a moment to let the paramedics in, they immediately went to her room and put her in an oxygen mask they told Jace to carry her outside to the ambulance and put her on a stretcher. Jace went in the ambulance with her never letting her hand go, he called Alec and told him everything that had happened and Alec told him he'd would be there in a little while and ended the call. He called Luke who was with Jocelyn, they said they will be there soon.

As soon as the ambulance stopped he got out and rushed with the paramedics still holding Clary's hand. It wasn't until the nurse stopped him from going any further he stopped holding her hand and crumpled to the floor crying. The boy who never cried was crying, Alec had gotten there through a portal from Magnus, who also came with Izzy was there as well. They went into the hospital to find Jace on the floor crying.

"Jace are you ok? What happened to Clary?" Alec asked Jace looked at them before getting up and hugging him.

"I don't know she was just pale and struggling to breathe her Iratze wasn't working so I called an ambulance thinking it's a mundane issue but I don't understand whats wrong with her." Jace sat down on one of the chairs with Izzy, Alec and Magnus sitting next to him when Jocelyn had come in with Luke.

"When I got to the house no one answered I knew something was wrong when I opened the door with a rune. I went upstairs to see if Clary was ok and she was pale and struggling to breathe what happened while I was gone?" Jace explained to the Garroways,

Jocelyn sat down next to Jace and spoke. "She has cancer Jace. She didn't want to tell you because she didn't want you to worry over her. We told her to tell you but she didn't listen." Jocelyn hugged Jace before the doctor came back out and spoke. "She's ok now she is stable it was just the fact that she hasn't been eating anything and the fact that the chemo has taken its toll on her body you can see her though she is not awake yet."
