Annabeth POV:
"Difficult," Someone else spoke in a mocking tone. A demigod who was part of the group that Hazel had brought along. "You're asking us to prioritize your students over the secrecy of our entire world. If this is not audacious then what is?"
"It's only a possibility," I said. "A worst-case scenario, it won't necessarily occur. Even if it did, this affects both of our worlds. We should try being more open-minded,"
"Open-minded," The person sneered. "You Greeks really are interesting. If you don't recall, we have been keeping our society and our world a secret for centuries. Suddenly, because these wizards and witches have a problem, all those efforts should amount to nothing?!"
"Annabeth," One of the demigods from Camp Half-Blood spoke up, not looking too happy with the way that the other had worded his rebuttal, nevertheless not disagreeing with it either. "Maybe staying here for so long has made you a bit...muddled. If it wasn't for Chiron, I don't think many of us would even come and as for the Roman Demigods, well they have their reasons for coming as well, but revealing both Camps, and our whole world to so many people. I don't think any of us can even consider that,"
I know. Dumbledore and Chiron had brought up the topic more than once since we stepped foot into Hogwarts many months ago. After all, it was quite difficult to create trust when you were trying to hide a whole world from those you interacted with. We keep hoping that doing so would be fine, but with how the opposition seems to be progressing to the point where they could even prevent spells from having any effect...it unnerved me. What if things became worse? If the situation really happened, could we say for sure that our earlier time with everyone would continue to work with us? Nonetheless, it was always that one outcome of having to reveal all that we've been hiding which has stopped any possibilities each time. It was precisely because of these reasons that everyone in the room was likely thinking in their minds why we kept up the disguises even if it felt bad lying to so many people who were so welcoming.
"I don't think she's muddled at all," Percy said. "In fact, I think Annabeth's thinking quite logically. There are weird stuff happening in both our worlds and we don't know anything about it that's why we're working towards mutual benefit as friends in a way,"
"Friends?" A sneer crawled it's way onto the face of a different demigod. "If it weren't for our praetors convincing us and Chiron then I don't think we'd even be here in the first place or at least not me. As for mutual benefit, all I see is us helping these wizards who can't really do anything right now,"
"You know it yourselves, there are strange occurrences happening not only in the wizarding world, but also our world. Monsters, who had never attacked Hogwarts in the past have been coming. If they know about the existence of wizards and witches, then our existence won't be invisible to dark wizards as well,"
"So what? Any dark wizard who comes to the walls of Camp Jupiter will be rained on by ten thousand arrows before they can even wave their wand,"
"I think Camp Half-Blood is pretty secure right now as well," One of the children of Demeter that had come, Billie Ng, added. "Our defenses are stable and the demigods there have good training. You should have seen the recent Capture the Flag games, honestly incredible. Even the new campers can't be called that weak,"
"That sounds great! Which cabin won last time?" Percy asked before switching back to the original topic. "My point is that things have been difficult lately from the Battle of Kronos to Gaea coming back and now this. We can't just think that this is something concerning us anymore. When we fought Kronos, each Camp was giving their full efforts without the other knowing. By the time when Gaea was awaking, this couldn't be helped any longer and we had to fight together. What about this time? It makes sense that we have to cooperate with wizards."
Their expressions hadn't changed much, but I could tell that his words had some effect. Backing Percy's argument, I gave more points causing some more faces in the crowd to turn. Hazel had also chimed in along with some other demigods as well showing their support as well. Everyone there had their own logical reasoning and understood our points quite clearly, especially since most of the demigods present had all gone through the two battles that we had mentioned. "Dumbledore," That demigod who was the first to speak out turned to the headmaster. "I hate this idea, and hate this plan overall, but I'm willing to give it a shot. If anything really does happen to the Camp from carelessly letting out the secret or listening to you, you'll be the first person I spear through, got it?"
Each of the demigods gave their own regards, most having similar feelings to the one that spoke first while others instead were warming up to the idea even if it was by the slightest amount. It wasn't an agreement, far from it actually but if this is the best we could get then I was fine with it. Revealing our secret to the school and in turn the wizarding world? I could barely believe that I have just testified for such an idea, one that I would have found scandalous long ago, and likely still do somewhat. It was still just an "in case" for one of the worst possible scenarios, ones that I hoped would never arrive.
"We can do this," To my side, Percy gripped my hand. Perhaps my unease had escaped onto my face, nonetheless, most of it was washed away with this gesture. In the end, I was never alone. Percy smiled, "Even if the secret goes out, not saying it'll happen, but we can handle it."
"Yeah," I nodded in agreement.
The holidays were soon over. The demigods had gotten more familiar with Hogwarts and didn't seem to mind the difference between a demigod camp after this period of transition. It wasn't just them though, the creatures like the Colchis Bulls were becoming more comfortable on the school grounds as well with the aid of those such as Hagrid. The nymphs also had gotten better accommodations after a few tries to see where in the school they would enjoy the most. By the time the rest of the students returned to Hogwarts, it was them who were transitioning towards how our class had suddenly gotten the addition of so many other teachers. The demigod's arrangements had also been decided, they would be separated into groups and putting one in each house so that the demigods could interact amongst the students of all division, but also be near the others from our world.
