Chapter Thirty-Eight:
When Monkey Attorneys Go Funky
Everyone could breathe a sigh of relief, the legal dispute was finally over and the intrepid heroes of the SMG4 + Mario gang had overcome the odds again. SMG4 was elated, he looked at his phone and saw that his YouTube channel and all of his videos were up again, the DMCA's effects negated by the power of the Parody Contract.
"We did it!" He cried, "The channel is saved!"
"Yahoo!" Luigi whooped, "We can be together again!"
"DoEs ThAt MeAn We CaN gO bAcK tO mAkInG mEmEs?" Bob asked, he knew that he was talking about the fact that the crew had to get back to producing and distributing memes to those who'd been affected by Nintendo's firewall during Lawyer Kong's reign.
While Nintendo would be bringing that down soon, the firewall's effects would without a doubt still be felt in some denizens of the land. Regardless, the gang began to rejoice in seconds, filled with elation and delight that they were all alive and that they could co-exist again without fear of Nintendo.
Even Meggy was relieved that they'd managed to pull through like they always did, no matter what odds they faced. Lawyer Kong faced the victorious gang with shock, briefly glancing at Kirby, as he processed it all. His face darkened and he stepped out from behind his bench, shaking with silent fury.
"Ah, screw it all! What's the point of being a Nintendo lawyer if Nintendo doesn't believe in me...?" Lawyer Kong lamented, "Especially since I failed as you get to go free and do whatever you want without any restraint."
The former lawyer monkey shredded his suit off and began to leave the courtroom, wearing nothing but a tank top and shorts. But with the lawyer outfit gone, everyone could see who Lawyer Kong had been the entire time...
Funky Kong!
Mario was surprised, so too was SMG4. In all the years they knew Funky, they never thought he'd be Nintendo's lawyer. And yet, the big guy almost looked like him. Now, everybody could see the resemblance clearly. Lawyer Kong wasn't Funky Kong's missing twin, he was Funky Kong, those sunglasses were an absolute give away.
"I'm gonna sell weapons and dance to funky music instead!" Funky said, he pulled out a headphone and slapped it on his head. Music began to play from it and the Kong started jiggling his body while humming and bopping his head to the beat as he left the courtroom, leaving everyone behind.
Meggy raised her glasses, bewildered by the scene of it all. "I had this feeling they were connected, but I never saw that coming." She remarked.
"I'm-a so glad we can hang out again!" Luigi cried happily as he came over from the Nintendo side to hug SMG4.
Mario punched the air. "Let's-a rejoice with spaghetti!" He declared.
"WAIT!"
All eyes looked up towards the judge's booth, staring up at Kirby. The pink puffball set down a phone next to his gavel and looked at SMG4 square in the eye, everyone wondered what the judge had to say now, even with the trial over and the verdict already handed out...
