Izzy's pov

God I'm a fucking idiot. I don't understand how she couldn't tell me That SHE HAD CANCER. I understand I'm not that good of a friend I mean like when she came to Idris I yelled at her and practically wished she were dead. I love Clary like a sister I've already lost Simon I can't lose her too. Jace can't lose her before he met her, he always told himself that to love is to destroy and to be loved is to be the destroyed. But after he met her it was as if he woke from a deep sleep (A/N quote from the tv show). Now there is another fucking chance he could lose her-

I was pulled out by the sounds of vomiting; it came from Clary's room. Oh god please dont say she's the one who's being sick. (A/N just noticed something weird I put this in a word doc and it said that there was only 284 words not including this a/n but when I saved this on here it said 298 words weird) Magnus and Alec were asleep and Jace was asleep. He had come out after he kissed Clary on the head, he hasn't slept in days since she was rushed to the hospital, well he has but not that well. I was the only person who could help her. After I found her, she had been sick all over the floor. I pressed the call button, she looked up at me with sorryness is that even a word but she looked like she was sorry. It must have been about 3 minutes before a nurse had come in with a doctor. They helped Clary, gave her pain meds and she fell asleep.

"Iz can I talk to you please?" Jace's voice sounded so broken, it startled me when he spoke. I nodded before following him outside the hospital. He was crying, I had never seen him cry before. I really didn't know how to help him I was used to Alec Max and everyone else crying but not him. Not my big brother. (A/N I checked I'm pretty sure Izzy is younger than Jace, Sorry if I got it wrong.) I hugged him, he finally broke the silence, "It hurts Izzy knowing I can't help her." His head was hung low. He continued "I'm trying so hard to be strong for her but It's so hard. I should have been here not in Idris whilst she was in pain. God I'm not a good boyfriend if I didn't even know that she was in pain." I sighed before speaking

"Jace Jonathan Christopher Wayland Morgenstern Fray Fairchild Lightwood Herondale STOP. It's not your fault, It's no ones fault ok." He laughed at me using his full name before nodding. We went back inside where Jocelyn said,

"You can go in and see her she awake and wondering where you are Jace." He nodded before going into Clary's room. She watched him go in before continuing, "Izzy thank you for helping her." She hugged me. I will admit I was shocked that she hugged me but I hugged her back.

Jace's pov

"Hey are you feeling better baby?" I asked her but she was still pale, she nodded. I kissed her on the cheek before saying, "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you were ill whilst I was in Idris." She looked at me confusion marked her eyes. She finally spoke but her voice was horse "What are you talking about Jace I didn't tell you I'm the one who should be "sob" sorry, "sob" I "sob" love "sob" you." She coughed. I hugged her before sitting next to her on the bed. We stayed there for I don't know how long. We only broke apart when Luke came in asking if I wanted anything "Just a coffee please Luke." He nodded before turning to Clary who just wanted a hot chocolate. He left after 5 minutes, she looked at me before saying "You know this is going to be hard so I'm giving you an out. If you leave now I will understand." Her voice broke at the last bit. I pulled her into my arms as well as I could with all the thing that were giving her nutrients. "You know Clary I will never ever leave you no matter what I don't care if every time you eat something you throw it back up or if you are too ill to do things I'm here for you and I will always. There's no pretending I love you Clary I always will and I will love you till the day I die and if there's life after that I'll love you then." I let go of her and got down on one knee grabbed the ring that was in my pocket before continuing. "Clarissa Fray Fairchild Morgenstern. Will you marry me?" Once I finished she was crying and smiling so I knew they were happy tears. I heard a voice from the side of me saying, "Just answer him already." We both laughed at Magnus' remark before she nodded her head and said,

"Yes Jace I will." I got up slid the ring on her finger and kissed her. Everyone came in hugging us. Luke gave us our drinks. We stayed there till a nurse told Magnus Izzy and Alec to go outside whilst she set up Clary's nutrients. They left because of a demon attack I stayed with Clary reading for a little while until she asked "Jace I'm tired can you sing to me please. MY fiancée." she finished with a smile I also smiled before starting to sing,
