The new relationships after the end of the show. The group does not split up, save for Negan taking a bit of a distance for Maggie's sake.
In the end not one of them expected to find new romantic love after all the trauma they had been through.
Negan swore he would love no one ever again as much as Lucille, that good woman he had betrayed so deeply. In the end he found Annie and they were expecting a baby. A baby that could give him the chance to be a better man after breaking so many hearts.
Maggie had sworn to never love again after losing Glenn in such a cruel and unfair way, but she found comfort in Elijah. Even though the younger man had found a temporary comfort in Lydia, the two drifted apart over time. Elijah, who has been with Maggie and little Hershel through some of the darkest things they had ever seen, and who, like her, had lost his dear sister. Of all the people in the world, he understood her, her trauma and her son. He was also kind person, like Glenn, which helped in starting a live with him.
Carol had sworn to never love again after Ed. Not because he was a good man whom she wanted to honour, but because of the vile abuse she and her later daughter had suffered through. Over time she found Tobin, whom she liked but did not love, and eventually King Ezekiel, whom she loved and with whom she even adopted a new child. A child they lost and drifted apart again. Eventually, after a decade of surviving, she and Daryl found each other. They had always had a close connection, but it did take the Governor, Terminus, Grady, The Wolves, Negan & the saviors, the Whisperers and the Commonwealth to finally understand their need for each other.
Daryl on the other hand had never expected to find romantic love. He had a special connection with Beth after the prison, but it was more brotherly. While he was leading the sanctuary, the savior named Laura had shown interest in him, but he always saw her as a reliable subordinate. Eventually he realised that he needed Carol just as much as she needed him.
When Annie gave birth to her and Negan's first child, Maggie was already expecting her and Elijah's first.
They never expected to end up where they were, but after all the trauma they had, they were happy to have something worth living for.
