Maggie and Elijah talk about their feelings.
Maggie woke up early next morning. Earlier than most would usually at the Hilltop. She quickly noticed that she was not alone in bed, nor that she was clothed. She turned around and saw Elijah laying next to her, naked as well.
She quickly remember the last night. The passion that just happened. The passion she had very much enjoyed.
Elijah stretched in his sleep and slowly woke up as well.
"What happened last night?" She asked.
"We… we fucked" he replied.
"I know… I mean why?" She said back.
"I really like you Maggie. Have for years, but I've really grown to care for you and Hershel since the fall Meridian and the death Josey"
Josey meant Josephine. Elijah's sister that was killed by Brandon Carver, one of the reapers who destroyed Meridian.
"Elijah…"
"I know why you miss him, but I think he would want to move on as well"
He meant Glenn. Her late husband and father to little Hershel.
She missed him so much.
But she was also ready to move on.
"I miss him, but it's been 10 years and…" she couldn't know how to continue.
"And?" He asked, getting interested at the reply he was hearing.
"… and I think it's time for me to try new things"
"Like us?"
He wanted an answer.
"Like us" she said back.
It was time to move on. It had been a decade and her life had changed so much.
And out of all the men in the world, it was Elijah who got her the most. They had shared so much, the fall of Meridian and all their dead loved ones.
"So we are dating now?"
"I guess so"
"What about Hershel?"
"He loves you already, so I don't think he will have much of a problem with this"
"What about our age difference, your nearly a decade older than me?"
"My dad married a woman 20 years younger than him. I don't see a big problem with that"
Their difference in age or skin colour should not come in between them when it came to giving this a try. They would go through this one step at a time.
