I can't believe I'm actually posting the final chapter of my first ever fan fic. It's a bittersweet feeling, but I'll let you get on with the epilogue and I'll see you again at the bottom.
I sat down on a rock, waiting for my brothers to finish hunting. I couldn't believe this day was finally here. It was Christmas day and in just a few hours, Bella would walk down the aisle and become my wife. I could hardly keep the smile off my face.
Alice had stolen Bella away early this morning to get ready, though she had wanted us to spend the night before the wedding apart, as is tradition, but we put our foot down, telling Alice that we hadn't been traditional so far and we weren't going to start now. Alice had backed down eventually, especially after Jasper explained the pain we felt when we were away from each other.
I had been banished from the house for now, so I wouldn't see Bella through the minds of my family before she walked down the aisle. My brothers had taken me out hunting, to try to take my mind off everything. I took down a small deer, but didn't really need any more as I had hunted a few days before.
Alice had done an amazing job planning the wedding, along with Bella and the other girls. The house was looking fantastic. It had snowed overnight and the garden was covered in a blanket of pure white. My brothers had cleared an aisle down the middle, laying a long red carpet for Bella to walk along. On either side of that, there were benches made from logs with red and gold ribbons decorating them. A large wooden arch sat at the end of the aisle, gold, billowy material draped over it with poinsettias, holly and pine cones adorning it. It all looked perfect, matching the vision I had seen in Alice's mind months before.
Inside, all the furniture in the living room had been pushed back to create a dance floor. DJ equipment was placed at one side of the room and some disco lights had been set up. Emmett was going to be our DJ and he had taken the role very seriously. He'd spent ages making playlists, setting up all the equipment and mastering how it all worked. On the other side of the room, there was a small table adorned with a white table cloth, holding a small wedding cake. Despite the fact that there wouldn't be any humans to eat the cake, Bella insisted that it wasn't a wedding without cake and I could never say no to her.
We were keeping the wedding very small. The only people I really wanted there were my family and Bella had decided against inviting her mother, as she was bound to notice the differences in her daughter's appearance and it would only make it more difficult to keep her distance from her in the future. Carlisle had invited another family of vampires from Denali, Alaska that they considered extended family. They would be arriving just before the ceremony.
Bella had been upset at the fact that her father wouldn't be able to walk her down the aisle, but had asked Carlisle if he would do it. He had been honoured to be asked and accepted instantly.
We thought it best to keep humans away from the wedding, so rather than having a human minister, Jasper had gotten ordained online and was going to perform the ceremony for us.
Bella had insisted on walking down the aisle to her lullaby, so I had recorded myself playing it along with Esme's song and the song that I had written for the whole family, which I had finally finished, to be played throughout the ceremony.
Everything was absolutely perfect, though it all really didn't matter to me. As long as I was marrying Bella, nothing else mattered.
My brothers came through the trees, laughing and pushing playfully at each other. Jasper looked up smiling.
"I don't think I've ever felt so much joy from one person before," he smirked, "And I can't sense any nerves at all."
"Nope," I said, "I just can't wait to marry her. I know we are mated and she's a vampire, so I'll have her forever anyway, but this is the last thing we need to tie us together."
"So, need any tips for the wedding night?" Emmett said, waggling his eyebrows up and down.
"I think I'm all good," I chuckled at him, before grimacing as he showed me some of his wedding nights with Rosalie in his mind. Apparently, they got married a lot.
"The Denali's will be here soon," Jasper said, distracting me from the disturbing images I was seeing, "We better get back."
We arrived back at the house, just as five unfamiliar vampires were pulling up outside. Carlisle went outside to greet them, before inviting them into the house.
"This is Eleazar and his mate, Carmen, along with Tanya, Kate and Irina," Carlisle introduced, pointing out each vampire in turn. "This is my son, Edward. His beautiful bride, Bella is getting ready upstairs and I wouldn't dare risk the wrath of Alice by interrupting to introduce you," he added with a chuckle.
Eleazar walked over and shook my hand. He had dark hair with a slightly olive tone to his pale complexion and the same golden eyes as the rest of his family. Carmen stood beside him, pulling me into a quick hug. She was a little shorter than her mate with the same olive toned skin and long brown hair that hung down her back in curls.
Tanya had long, curly strawberry blonde hair and was eyeing me up and down, in a way that made me feel uncomfortable. Her thoughts disturbed me, especially as it was my wedding day. She was thinking about how she wished I'd returned before now and without Bella so she would have a chance at bedding me. I winced as she leaned into hug me, pulling away as quickly as I could, without being rude.
I was thankful that Kate and Irina's thoughts were much more palatable, as they each pulled me into a hug. They both had long, straight blonde hair though Irina's was much lighter, almost a silvery white compared to the darker blonde of Kate's.
"We're so pleased to meet you," Eleazar said, "We've heard so much about you from Carlisle and Esme. We were so happy to hear the prodigal son had returned."
"Yes," Tanya purred, "It's such a shame we didn't meet sooner." Her thoughts showing exactly what she wanted to do to me. I grimaced, taking a step back as she took a step towards me.
What's she thinking, bro? Jasper inquired in his thoughts, I'm getting lust from her and a lot of disgust from you right now.
I nodded at him, still trying to put as much space between myself and Tanya as possible without being impolite.
"Oh, Edward," Jasper spoke up, smirking at me, "I think Esme was looking for you in the kitchen."
I looked at him gratefully, excusing myself before exiting the room quickly and heading into the kitchen. I found Esme rushing around cleaning the already sparkling kitchen and sat down at the counter, happy just to be away from Tanya, though I could still hear her thoughts from here, unfortunately.
I tried to focus on the other thoughts around the house. I could hear Alice upstairs, reciting the Fall/Winter Gucci line in her head to keep me out. I smiled to myself. Alice had been so worried about me seeing Bella through her thoughts before the wedding that she had been practising keeping me out of her mind for weeks.
Rosalie was in the garage trying to stay out of the way. She had wanted to help Alice get Bella ready but she hadn't mastered keeping me out of her head, so Alice had banned her and no one was going to go against Alice today.
"It's nearly time, Edward," Esme said, "Think it's time all the boys got changed. You too, Rosalie," she called a little louder, though it wasn't strictly necessary.
I climbed the stairs to our bedroom, trying to contain my excitement, quickly showering before changing into my wedding suit. It was a black three piece suit with a red tie. My button hole contained holly and red flowers to match the arch outside. The other boys would be dressed the same but with gold ties and holly button holes.
As I walked back into the kitchen, Esme gasped, looking like she would be tearing up if she could.
"Edward," she whispered, "You look so handsome, son. I'm so glad I get to be a part of you wedding day."
"As if I could do this without you," I told her, pulling her into my arms, "I love you, mom."
The minutes seemed to drag by, but eventually I was standing at the top of the aisle, Emmett beside me as my best man and Jasper in front of me as the minister. I looked around at the guests, trying very hard to ignore the inappropriate thoughts still going through Tanya's head, instead focusing on Esme sitting in the front row, her mind overflowing with happiness.
Just then the music started, Bella's lullaby flowing from the speakers and I watched as Rosalie and Alice walked slowly down the aisle in beautiful gold gowns, red bouquets held in front of them. As they reached the top of the aisle, I turned back to face the front, trying to compose myself as I waited for my Bella.
I heard the gasps as everyone saw her walking down the aisle with Carlisle, their minds filled with how beautiful she was, jealousy tingeing Tanya's thoughts.
When I turned to look at her, my breath caught in my throat. She was beautiful, gorgeous, stunning – I couldn't find the right words to describe her. Her dress consisted of a beautiful lace bodice, the sleeves made of the same lace hung off her shoulder, showing her beautiful skin. The skirt was tight fitting, falling softly over her hips and down her long legs, flowing out at the bottom into a beautiful train covered in lace.
Her hair was pulled up into curls at the back of her head, a few tendrils hanging down around her face. She had foregone the traditional veil and had a few flowers in her hair instead. In front of her, she held a bouquet consisting of poinsettias, holly and pine cones, held together with a gold ribbon, matching the decorations around us.
Her face lit up as she looked up and met my eyes, the familiar electricity buzzing around us. I wanted to run to her and pick her up as she was taking too long to get to me, but I managed to hold off. As soon as Carlisle handed her off to me, my hand touching hers, our connection jolted through us, reconnecting after being away from each other for a while.
"You look stunning, love," I whispered in her ear.
"You scrub up well yourself," she chuckled, lifting her hand to straighten my tie.
We both turned towards Jasper, eager to get started. We kept the traditional vows, just changing 'til death do us part' to 'as long as we both shall live'. When we finally said 'I do', it was the best moment of my life, and the joy that shone in Bella's eyes told me she felt the same. We exchanged rings, hers fitting perfectly alongside her engagement ring. I couldn't wait to wear the ring that symbolised our love for each other.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," Jasper said, smiling at all the joy he was sensing, "You may now kiss the bride."
I pulled Bella into my arms, pressing my lips to hers tenderly and in that moment, everyone disappeared. It was just me and her. I was home.
Finally, I managed to pull myself away from her, remembering our guests, turning our bodies to face them all, but unable to tear my eyes away from hers. They erupted into applause and cheering, Emmett whistling loudly.
"I love you, Mrs. Cullen," I whispered into her ear.
"Oh, I like the sound of that," she said, "I love you too, Mr. Cullen."
The ceremony flowed smoothly into the reception party, everyone gathering in the living room, all thanks to Alice's perfect planning. We cut the unnecessary cake and Bella threw her bouquet, Kate snatching it up, much to the disappointment of Irina. Tanya chose not to participate, wallowing in her jealousy in the corner.
Emmett began the music and after our first dance, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, a song that perfectly summed up how I felt about Bella, I reluctantly let her go as my father and brothers begged to dance with her.
I danced with my mother, sisters and our other female guests, but when I heard Tanya's mind determined to catch me for a dance, I found Bella, wrapping my arms around her from behind.
"I thought I was never going to get you back. May I have this dance?" I asked, spinning her around to face me.
We danced well into the night and I refused to leave go of Bella again after that, which seemed to work well at deterring Tanya, though it did nothing to stop her thoughts. Even Tanya's thoughts couldn't wipe the smile off my face at finally being married to Bella.
Alice came then to drag my Bella away to change before we left for our honeymoon. Bella had no idea where we were going. Alice had packed a suitcase for her and we were due to leave for the airport in about half an hour. I headed up stairs to get myself changed for our journey, collecting all the tickets and suitcases and began loading the car.
We said goodbye to all the family, Esme pulling me in for a particularly long hug.
"It's only for a few weeks," I told her.
"I know," she said, her breath catching in her throat, "But I'm gonna miss you both so much. I only just got you back."
"We're coming back," I said, kissing the top of her head. "I promise. It's not like last time. I can't live without you all now. Even Emmett," I added, making her smile.
"Oi!" Emmett shouted, from the other side of the porch, where he was hugging Bella, "Everyone knows I'm the best. You're gonna miss me the most, right, baby sis?" He lifted Bella up into his arms, swinging her around in circles until she agreed with him. Everyone was still laughing at Emmett as I pulled Bella towards the car.
"We love you all," we shouted out the window to our family, as they all waved us off.
"Edward," Bella whined, as we boarded the third plane of our trip, "Please?"
"Bella, don't do this to me?" I said, "You know I can't deny you anything when you say please like that. Just let me have this surprise. It's only another couple of hours and we'll be there, I promise."
"Fine," she said with a pout, and I was reminded of how she was exactly the same when I tried to surprise her with a music festival back in New Hampshire.
She leaned her head on my shoulder, rubbing her hand along my thigh.
"Not here, Bella," I groaned, "I want you too, but I really don't want the first time with my wife to be on a plane full of humans or in a cramped plane bathroom."
We had been travelling for about 18 hours already and we were both struggling with the need to consummate our marriage. We had managed to control ourselves so far, but it was getting harder and the tiny plane bathroom was beginning to look better and better.
We finally landed in Rio De Janeiro, quickly hailing a cab to take us to the docks.
"It's not Rio?" Bella asked, looking confused when I gestured for her to board the boat I had hired.
"Nope," I answered, "We are really close though. Twenty minutes tops."
Bella sat down on the boat, looking up at the dark sky as I started the engine, taking us towards our final destination.
"Is that where we're going?" Bella asked, as an island began to appear in the distance.
"Yep," I answered, "Isle Esme."
"Esme owns an island?" she exclaimed, standing up and looking out towards the island, quickly coming closer. I nodded.
"Carlisle bought it for her," I told her, "An anniversary present."
"Wow," she whispered, "So we'll be all alone?"
"Mmhmm," I answered, "Completely private island and it's all ours for two whole weeks."
I quickly docked the boat, holding out my hand to help Bella out, before lifting our luggage out and setting it on the pier – I would come back and collect it later.
Taking Bella's hand, we walked through the sand towards the house that sat just back from the water. The front of the house was all glass, the sand leading right up to the sliding doors. The lights were all on, the house keepers having been here during the day to set the house up for us. Just before we entered the house, I scooped Bella up into my arms.
"Thresholds are my job now," I said, as she opened her mouth to protest. I set her down just through the doors so she could have a look around. We walked through the house, Bella exclaiming at the beauty of it all, before reaching a large bedroom. It was decorated all in white, with a large four poster bed in the middle of the room hung with billowing mosquito netting. On the far side of the room were large glass, doors that led straight out onto the beach.
"I'll go grab the bags..." I began, turning back towards the door, but Bella had other ideas, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards her, her hands slipping under my t-shirt.
"The bags can wait," she murmured, "I can't."
With that I slipped my hands under her top, revelling in the feel of her skin. She pressed her lips to mine, her tongue gliding along my bottom lip, before I took it into my mouth. I turned my head to deepen the kiss as I walked her backwards until her knees hit the bed, both of us falling onto it. We continued kissing, her hands roaming all over my back, as mine caressed her breasts over her top.
I reached down, grabbing the hem of her top, pulling it up over her head revealing a white lace bra that I assumed she'd also been wearing under her wedding dress. Quickly opening her button, I pulled her jeans down her legs, groaning before stepping back to admire the sight of her in that lingerie set. It was perfect, she was perfect.
I quickly undressed before leaning over her again, running my hands over the lace covering her breasts. As much as I wanted her naked, I couldn't bring myself to remove her underwear just yet. I took my time worshipping her, kissing every inch of her skin until she was shaking with need.
"Please, baby," she whimpered.
I was unable to deny her anything, especially when she asked like that, so I quickly reached around her back opening her clasp and removing her bra, before hooking my fingers into her underwear and pulling them down her legs. When she was naked in front of me, I took a second to take in the fact that she was mine, forever, in every way possible. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face at that thought.
With her eyes begging me to do something, anything, I slowly pulled her towards the edge of the bed, kneeling on the floor in front of her. I hooked her legs over my shoulders, spreading her open before my eyes, looking into heaven. Swiftly kissing along her thighs, I made my way towards her apex, making one long swipe along her sex with my tongue when I reached it. She made the most amazing sounds and her taste was intoxicating. I couldn't get enough of it. I lapped at her centre, taking in every drop of her arousal, alternating between dipping my tongue into her core and swirling it around her clit. It wasn't long before she was panting heavily. I pushed two fingers deep inside her, curling them just right, as I concentrated my tongue on her bundle of nerves and she shattered with a loud scream.
I couldn't wait any longer. I needed to claim my mate, my wife, so I climbed up her body, sucking her nipple into my mouth as I passed. I kissed her deeply, our tongues slipping languidly over one another, her taste still on my tongue. Settling between her legs, as she hitched them up around me, I lined myself up with her entrance.
"Ready, my beautiful wife," I purred, my steel hard erection slipping through her folds.
"God, I love when you call me your wife," she exclaimed, "Always ready for you, husband."
Hearing the word husband from her lips sent a jolt straight through my arousal and I couldn't help pushing deep inside her at the sound of it. Despite the fact that we had made love hundreds of times before, there was something more, something deeper about this time, as it was our first time as husband and wife.
I made love to her slowly, savouring every moment of it. Being connected with her like this, knowing she was my wife, knowing that I got to keep her forever and that she loved me just as much as I loved her was amazing. With every pull out and push back into her my heart swelled with love and adoration for her and I could tell from the look in her eyes that she was feeling the same way.
By the time we were both close to our release, I felt like my heart would burst with the love I felt for her. As I thrust into her one last time, her climax triggered mine, sending us both tumbling off the edge together. She held me tight to her chest as she came down from her high and I buried my face in her hair, breathing in her amazing scent.
"Mine," I whispered in her ear, though I was barely coherent enough to speak, "Forever."
"Yes," she sighed, "Forever."
Well, there it is. The end of Finding Her. As I said at the top, it's very bittersweet. On one hand I'm happy to have this fic complete, to be able to say I have actually written and completed a story of my own, but I really enjoyed it and I liked my Edward and Bella and it's sad to let go of them.
I want to say thank you to every one who has read, reviewed, followed and favourited. Every notification that popped up on my phone absolutely made my day. I never in a million years thought that anyone would read or like my little one shot, never mind the whole story.
I have started writing another story. It's a New Moon AU that was inspired by an outtake from another fic I was reading. Again, I won't be posting anything until it's all written as I don't want to put my self under pressure to write and I need to see where I'm going to go with the storyline. Plus I really hate when stories stop halfway through, so this means I won't leave anyone hanging. I have, however, written 9 chapters so far so we'll see how it goes. If you think you might be interested in reading it, make sure to follow/favourite me as an author so you will be notified when I post it.
Once again, thank you all for reading and sticking with me the whole way through this story.
