Meanwhile, just outside, Zen stood in front of the cafe he agreed to meet Weiss, the very same cafe he was in when he'd spoken to Blake...

'She can't even feel comfortable to laugh when you enter the room. Do you have any idea what that's like?'

Yang's words echoed in his head, hanging over him like a vile shadow.

After doing his best to clear his mind of yesterday, he took a deep breath and exhaled before entering, he paused momentarily after seeing the heiress sat at a four seater table already waiting for him.

"Hello Zen." She greeted with the exact smile reminiscent of her practice on the elevator ride to the top of the CCT.

"Hey Weiss, sorry I'm a little late."

"It's quite alright. Please have a seat.

Did you want anything to drink?"

"No thanks, I'm fine."

"I will say, I've been wanting to organise a day where we could sit and talk like this, but you know how things are sometimes, they just don't work out as planned.

So I'm glad you've arranged this, I can finally have a chance to meet you properly and get to know you better."

"And I the same with you." She replied warmly.

"Though you arranged this meet up, you're not pressured for time?"

"Pressured for time? Why would you think that I needed to be somewhere else?"

"I mean, I remember this morning you mentioned that you guys were training as a team before coming here, and Ruby tells me you are an avid student that works hard, so if there was a certain time you needed to head back-"

"Thank you, that's very considerate, but you'd needn't worry.
I'm not sure if Ruby added that I'm also ahead of myself and I had this planned out.

So we can take as long as need be if necessary."

"Well that's good.

So now that we're here, what would you like to discuss?"

"I wanted to ask you a few things."

"Um, yeah that's no problem. Any questions you have, I can answer."

"Excellent."

Okay Weiss. Compile yourself, you've had some time to think about what to say.

Breathe in… and exhale.

"What exactly is the deal between you and my team?"

Zen momentarily flinched, the sudden change in demeanour from the girl prim and proper to contentious caught him off guard, though he was just as quick at recomposing himself, yet still appearing visibly 'confused' by her question.

"I'm- I'm sorry?"

"I'll rephrase it then.

Why has my leader graciously volunteered her time to personally train with you, along with that somehow it has directly made her sister despise you to the point that potential intervention might be needed to prevent her from outright killing you, my other teammate has become a pendulum of emotion after meeting you… and I'm sitting opposite you right now, wondering what in all of Remnant is going on.
As somehow there isn't a connection to all of this and I'm just missing it, when it is clearly staring me in the face.

Do you have a pejorative? Is there any rationale behind what you are doing, if you are doing anything in the first place?

I sound like a maniac, but I don't think I can forgive myself if I didn't say anything and just let this continue unchecked.
Weiss thought to herself once she finally took a moment to breathe.

In that same instance, Zen contemplated.

What should I say, how could I have not seen this coming... maybe... I- I should try to be honest... just a little.

"Weiss I need you to understand-"

"No, I need you to understand something!" She cut him off while raising her index finger, pointing at him accusatively, shortly after, obviously fixated on telling him what had been on her mind for a while now.

Okay... best just keep my mouth shut and listen.

He thought as he allowed her to continue.

"From the day I first met you, when you came to our dorm... I have been passive, observing in silence whenever you conversed with my teammates, either while I was present or the aftermath from when you had spoken to them one on one."

Whelp time to worm your way out of this...

He told himself, but before he could even begin to open his mouth to try to explain, Weiss cut him off once again.

"Before you say or do anything, just know that right now I have in my possession a gun, which is currently directed at you.
You can check if you don't believe me, understand that I am serious about using it if necessary."

Zen slowly looked down at both of his hands, which rested on the table during the whole time Weiss spoke, his heart sank the moment he felt the barrage of anger behind what she said.

He thought for a moment before looking at Weiss, then moving his right hand along the table.
Despite the diner being fairly busy, the moment between them felt tense as if they were alone, but it was broken by a metallic clang that echoed for a while until the object came to rest.

"Oh look, I've accidently dropped my spoon on the floor, excuse me while I retrieve it."

The heiress merely furrowed her brows, seeming to say 'don't try anything' and without any other indication she had a problem, he leant down, making sure he kept one hand on the table both as support for his balance as well as to prove to Weiss he didn't intend on escalating the situation.

As he went to pick up said spoon, he looked up and staring back at him between his eyes was a very familiar pistol, there was no tremor, no flinching or shaking, no sign that Weiss was hesitant, even now her finger rested lightly upon the trigger.

Whelp time to worm your way out of this- wait I already said that didn't I.

He told himself as his mind began to kick into survival mode as he came back up, tenderly placing the spoon in its resting place then folded his hands on the table.

"Judging from your expression, you know I'm genuinely serious."

"Indeed you are. Just one question however.
What are you doing with Blake's weapon?
I mean I remember Ruby mentioning using team weapons during some training sessions, were you doing that today? Does she have yours if you have hers?"

"Well it would have been a little difficult to try and point Myrtenaster in your general direction without raising a few eyebrows.
Blake's pistol is more concealed... but just because I don't have my signature weapon doesn't mean I'm not going to have an issue with Gambol Shroud."

Weiss could feel herself getting heated the more she talked, what she was doing now, this line of reasoning for her being placed in the position she was... it was unconventional of her, she truly was flying blind here... and from the boy opposite her, she knew he knew.

And that it looked as if he wasn't going to object or say anything unnecessary that could turn this simple meeting between 'friends' into an altercation of sorts.

Ruby did say he was smart, and speaking of-

"Let's talk about Ruby." She said aloud, her attention re-affixed to Zen.

"Ruby?"

"Yes, I think you have spent enough time with her to know she is the absolute embodiment of optimism and kindness.

Yet somehow, she can go one step above that positivity, in fact, she radiates it that much, I'm sure if we could harness that energy, it could be used to power Vale for the next ten years.
And that excess joy only happens when she comes back from training with you and Penny.
I'll admit, it's good she does have another friend to spend time with and continue to train as a leader.
When it comes to meeting people,

'Ruby had trouble making friends when she was starting at Signal academy, but trying to make friends when they are two years above her…'
That was something Yang told me once we got to know each other.

The fact of the matter, whenever she doesn't have a free moment, all she can think about is when she will, going to be seeing you and Penny, sure she hasn't said anything aloud, but she does get a large smile on her face every time she receives a message from you.

She does really care about you and your ability to succeed under her tutelage is a motivational driving force."

Zen could feel himself smile, but it quickly disappeared as Weiss added.

"Don't think that this is anything but praise and good news on your behalf, Ruby could have easily had the same response with any other student, it just happened to be you.

I think you know how much she means to not only Yang, but Blake and I as well, and if you ever made her upset, or did anything to harm her in any shape or form... you would not live to see the sun set."

Zen gulped as Weiss said that last part, somehow, despite Yang's interaction in the locker room was enough for him to stare down death and live.
Here however, he felt as though he had already died and this cafe was where he would be judged before going to the afterlife.

"Just one other thing... or rather two."

"Which are?" Zen asked, doing his damn best to keep himself composed, but Weiss definitely whittled away at it.

"What happened this morning?

When I asked if you and Penny had plans sparring with Ruby in mind, Penny was very much in favour of the meet up to take place, while you on the other hand showed the exact opposite sentiment.
Not only did I note that, but also Penny's apparent bewilderment at your answer, to which I knew something was definitely wrong.

That and the fact is that yesterday afternoon, my team and I went to the sparring rooms to practice, since you said you couldn't and I decided we should instead since Ruby felt so down.
And when we got there my partner, leader and our friend saw you…"

"Ruby, are you alright?"

"Huh, oh I was thinking."

"About no sparring with Penny and Zen after classes?"

"Yeah."

"If it's any consolation, Penny couldn't as she told me she has important lessons that couldn't be cancelled."

"But what about Zen, usually if Penny can't come, we still would spar together.

I can understand how yesterday he couldn't come as he said something came up, but today... I think he is actively trying to avoid me."

"Hey don't say that. Besides when I spoke to him I asked-"

"That's not even what's getting to me the most, I swear when we went to spar as a team, I'm sure I saw Penny and Zen go into the next room from us."

"Well maybe he had taken care of what he needed to-"

"What makes it more annoying is I think I know what the reason could be."

"You do?"

"The night before yesterday... Yang and I were alone, she told me she didn't want me to hang out with him, after some back and forth I convinced her nothing was a problem, but she told me to stay on guard. What I'm thinking is what if Yang went to Zen and told him the exact same thing... what if she threatened him?"

"Is there a problem Ruby?"

"Um, none whatsoever, Professor Peach."

Weiss then leaned in and whispered to Ruby once the professor returned to teaching.

"Okay I will tell you this, but you mustn't mention a word to Yang or Blake. I was going to say as to why he might have not wanted to spar with you today was because of me but after what you said... I'm thinking that might not be the case."

"Because of you?"

"Yes, so this afternoon, I'm planning on having to cut the training short so I can go and meet Zen.
I have wanted to speak with him for a while now.

"Okay. But why wouldn't you want me to mention it to Blake or Yang."

"You saw how interested they were as to why I was talking to Penny and Zen this morning."

"Okay I won't say a thing."

"So please, explain to me. What exactly was the reason for your quite apparent out of character behaviour today and why did you exclude Ruby when you did in-fact spar yesterday?"

"The thing is-"

"And you better be honest. I know her side but I want to know the real reason why?"

"Okay, the real reason why I have- yes have been avoiding- no, rather distancing myself from her is because Yang distrusts me... she did approach me after the sparring match with Cardin and told me, while her semblance was active, mind you, to never see Ruby outside of class, otherwise 'I'll regret it'."

So that's why she was so cheerful at dinner.

Zen swore he could hear the sound of Gambol Shroud under the table, the wielder gripping the weapon more tightly, either because she believed him about Yang, or that he was lying about Ruby.

"And now the second question."

"Which is?"

"Do you have any feelings for Ruby?"

"What I er-?"

"Romantically. Do you have any feelings for my leader romantically?"

"Honestly, I don't know, she's cool and all and I like her... but I only see her as a friend, I care for her like you and Blake do, and I like being around her.

But in no way is there a romantic connection."

"Okay." She replied with a curt nod. Seemingly satisfied with his response.

"Why ask me a question like that?"

"Because I'm more curious as to why Yang is so obstinate in mistrusting you, early on it did not make any sense, though if she did pick up on any hints her younger sister was being approached by a boy... well her over protective nature would kick in.

It has not been the first time this has happened.
But we'll talk more about Yang later."

Weiss could see Zen's eyes glimmering hope in them, at least that's what she thought she saw, and knew what he was going to ask next, but she cut him off before he had a chance to open his mouth.

"Before you even ask, I will not divulge any information pertaining to Ruby's romantic feelings towards you, which I cannot confirm nor deny its existence."

I may have never been in a relationship before, but I can tell Ruby still sees him only as a friend too... I think.

I mean there was that time she went hunting around for a boyfriend, but none of them showed any interest... then she asked if I were to be her girlfriend-
Wait, I'm getting off track, but that does make me think of something else to ask.

Weiss shook her head before looking back at him.

"Actually. Now that I think about it. How old are you even?" She asked with one eyebrow raised and tilting her head to the side.

"The same as everyone else, seventeen." He responded casually.

"The last thing I will say, and I'll say it again with regards to you hanging out with Ruby, if you ever did anything to hurt her in any shape or fashion you will have a big problem on your hands, and I don't just mean Yang, no if Ruby is involved, we're all involved."

Now as much as I feel for Yang, I believe Ruby should be allowed to spend time with whomever she wants, but it can't be overlooked that both Blake and I share the concern for Ruby's wellbeing…

"Blake… "

"What about Blake?"

Weiss not realising she began to think aloud, looked up as Zen stared at her .

"If you only knew what has been going on in our dorm for the last week or two, you should be calling yourself lucky Blake's been looking out for you."

"She's been looking out for me? You mean with Yang?"

"So you are aware of what Blake has been doing?"

"Not really. Call it more of an educated guess based on context."

"Likewise, I never was told by either of them, but I put it together.
Sounds like your little encounter with Yang in the locker room might have happened a lot sooner had it not been for Blake's interference.

But let's bring up something very telling, Blake at one point did speak to you, yes?

Most likely seeking some sort of answer to a question or questions Yang had with regards to you... however that did not happen, you said something to her, I don't know what was exactly said but it did leave her shocked.

That being said, I know her well enough to hazard a guess as to what you could have said…

Now I don't want you to tell me what you said or even how you knew, at least not yet...
No, all I want to know… is why?
What exactly was the purpose of telling her?

If not only to cause her suffering."

The heiress paid extra close attention to Zen as he began looking away, his features displaying what she could only guess as remorse, regret or plain irresponsibility.

"I- I was trying to show her trust, I do want to be friends with her, guess that at the time it seemed to be a good idea, but I realise what a mistake it was and Blake shouldn't have to relive the memories of her past, or be reminded of who she is...
If I have to take a bullet to make amends, I would gladly do it."

"On one hand I can understand what you were trying to do, but I use understand loosely.

On the other, you definitely need to learn the concept of timing, being honest with Blake is good, getting things out in the open, not hiding secrets, all part of a healthy friendship.

But choosing to do it before even calling each other friends is a fairly careless act on your behalf."

"I know."

Weiss sighed as she relaxed Gambol Shroud a little more before contemplating aloud.

"I am by no means an expert when it comes to making friends, really, after I became Ruby's partner, that was the first time I made a friend, and I mean a genuine friend.

Not a friend that I had to make on the account my father was making a new business partner that happened to have a son or daughter roughly my age and I had to 'play nice' while the parents talked business.
No, Ruby helped become my friend and Beacon helped me open myself up to others not affiliated with the SDC or even Atlas.

What I'm trying to say is, I don't think Blake has any Ill will towards you the way I'm making it out to be, but she is cautious about you, that much I can tell."

"Well that's... comforting."

Before Weiss had a chance to reply, she was interrupted as a waitress came over and placed a cup of coffee in front of her.

"Sorry about the wait, we're kind of busy. Was there anything else you needed?"

Both Zen and Weiss stared at her, then back to each other wide eyed before Weiss looked back up and replied whilst doing her best to conceal her surprise at the sudden change in the air.

"No, I'm fine, and my friend here didn't want anything. You'd needn't apologise for the coffee, we were so lost in conversation that I completely forgot I ordered one.
Thank you by the way."

With that the waitress nodded and left the two who sat both speechless.

"That was a thing." Zen said, being the first to return to reality.

"I'll say."

"So you saw it too? That waitress came over here, from where she was coming from, could easily see you all clad in white with a distinctly black pistol pointed at me... and didn't bat an eye?"

"I can assure you she either didn't really notice because she was more worried about all the other orders she has to take care of.

Or she did see what was going on, thought she was not going to get involved and decided to let us sort ourselves out."

There was a short moment of silence as they looked at each other before bursting into laughter at the absurdity of the situation.

They were like that for several minutes, until Weiss calmed down, her features remained positive, though the lingering reason why she wanted to talk to him, the whole point of 'borrowing' Gambol Shroud and of course the final reason, one of her close friends, reminded her why they sat here.

She sighed before looking back up at him, with a tone not as serious as it was when she pressed him for answers, but her resolve was still present.

"Then there's Yang… "

Zen, who, much like Weiss, had calmed down but a small chuckle could be felt in the back of his throat, dissipated, yet unlike before he appeared more relaxed then he was at the start.
A sigh also escaped his mouth, though he did not get a chance to respond straight away as Weiss continued.

"She has become so obstinate with you, again, based on observation and deduction, I can say with ninety percent certainty, she does not have an ounce of trust towards you- and as for the remaining ten percent, that portion is pretty much why you haven't entered the ER in a critical state.
Seriously, I have gone over all the times you and her have been in the same room, and you managed to walk out alive, had things have happened outside of Beacon, or if Blake didn't step in, you would not be so lucky.
And if you think I'm over exaggerating, I'm not, ask Ruby to correlate with me in that I say that before Yang started Beacon, she wrecked havoc at a nightclub, she especially went ballistic on the owner after he accidentally grabbed a few strands of her hair during their scuffle."

"Trust me I've heard the story and Yang is definitely not someone I'd want to get on her bad side… but of course I am."

The heiress merely gave a nod before changing the subject once again.

"Now after everything has been said about what my teammates think of you, now is the time I told you what thoughts I have about you.
A lot can be said from what I have seen and heard from my team, and I've tried to be neutral.
Ruby is nothing but positive whenever your name gets mentioned, Yang is the exact opposite, and Blake is in a somewhat grey area."

"Okay, so where do you fall?"

"Remember how I said I've been sitting idle, well that isn't entirely true.

This whole pessimism Yang felt towards you, somehow there was a part of me where I was inclined to believe, 'there may be some truth in what she suggested'.

So I began to do my own research."

"Which was?"

"For one, I contacted most if not all of the hospitals in Pleiades to find your medical records pertaining to your condition-"

"Isn't that information just a little bit sensitive?"

When he thought about it, this was the same girl who had the power to obtain any info from the company she would one day inherit, so anything would be in her realm of doable.

"It's not that hard if you claim it for a school project."

"Why do I get the feeling that this isn't the first time you've used that line for something."

"I have my moments." Weiss smirked.

"And they just gave it to you." He deadpanned.

"No. The scope of my search was also indirect.

If I could not obtain your personal medical information, it didn't mean I could find you alternatively."

"Meaning?"

"I looked up your condition, since I had never heard of it before, I assumed it to be quite rare... and I was right, so, the next thing was to look at data that pertained how many people had the condition or even a registry.
Though I couldn't find a registry, I was however able to find the statistics of those who were born with the condition and where they were born.

Not many people in Pleiades have Vacuole Inanimatum."

"Well perhaps you didn't get the most accurate data set, sometimes there are discrepancies."

"Do you know what else can be a discrepancy?
Not correcting someone who mispronounced your condition..."

Zen's face changed at the realisation, how could he have forgotten to at the very least be familiar with the cover story.

Though he tried his best to conceal it, the moment had passed and now Weiss looked like she had him where she needed him to be.

Whether or not that was the name of the condition, it didn't matter, she had called his bluff and there was no way of backpedalling even if she herself was bluffing. He told it all, in that moment these two were playing poker and Zen's face had revealed his cards.

"So back to what I said when we first started, I want to know what's really going on. You are definitely hiding something.
I can see it, but what exactly?"

I have a feeling that this isn't the first time you've been asked this, but remember I am not like the rest of my teammates, I have had an upbringing where I have observed people on many occasions actively lying or conveying one emotion while simultaneously concealing another, and am not focused on anything other than you.
I cannot be dissuaded now that I have had time to think about all the previous times you have 'covered your back.'

She had him there, no way could he exactly bluff his way out like he did with Yang, and by extension Blake... if he thought about it, Ruby's good nature told him she wouldn't care either way, as long as he had good intentions.

"Weiss, the truth is I really wish I could tell you the whole truth.
In all honesty, next to Ruby, you are the person I trust and would be the most understanding of my story no matter how bizarre or crazy it sounds.

But, I have promised Ozpin to keep that secret to myself. "

"The headmaster?

What is his involvement?"

I've let that cat out of the bag, might as well keep going…

"For what it's worth let's just say this, there was the breach those weeks ago, you think that's that, but it's not over not by any means."

"The breach… are you suggesting Roman or the White Fang have something else in mind, that the breach itself wasn't the end, there's still more to come."

"It's best you not focus on that right now."

"How can you be serious, you just hinted that maybe the most dangerous criminal in Vale and a terrorist organisation working together in the past might happen to have something planned, whereby the general safety of this kingdom might be in jeopardy and you tell me not to focus on that…"

"Weiss… things are complicated about that right now, Roman is in fact still in custody, there is a far greater threat than him and if things work out, there won't be another incident, you just have to trust me…"

"Zen?"

"Oh sorry, what were you asking?"

"I was asking about what you meant about Ozpin wanting you to keep a secret."

Zen hadn't realised his thoughts were getting to him, but he needed a way to try and cover himself, he was hard pressed that was for sure, and the scenario he just played out would only lead to more questions and by extension possibly less cooperation by team RWBY.

If they started to probe him further, and if they got involved so early, word might get to Cinder and she could either come up with a work around plan, or even accelerate things if she felt her plans were under threat.

But what to say now?

Maybe, it might just work…

"Do you know how deep the recesses of one's mind can go when it comes to creativity?"

"I don't follow?"

"Blake would understand what I mean.

Original works can be looked at, expanded upon, changed and evolved, or even provide inspiration for works entirely new.
Much like the universe there is no limit to what possibilities there could be.

Imagine if complex life existed beyond this one planet, and suppose that life was like that here on Remnant except that life did not possess aura, not because they are soulless or like me they have a condition, but they simply just don't, now how far out of reality would that be?"

"It's not too much of a stretch of the imagination. As you said, the universe is limitless, somewhat hard to conceive since we can't really travel using dust, but from what we can ascertain on the ground there are many stars out there, each with their own planets.

It is possible, though I'd doubt it would be possible to survive without aura, especially if grimm also occupied that world too."

"Well what if there were no grimm, that the only threat life had to deal with in order to survive, plants, fish, birds, animals… and humans , was the natural world itself."

"Now that sounds like a work of fiction there, if you look at history, ancient humans thought that the darkness that made up space was the essence of grimm permeating the cosmos, an inescapable fate…

Now what exactly has that to do with anything we've talked about thus far.

Unless this is another ploy of yours to get me thinking off tangent."

"Not this time Weiss.
I am genuinely trying to provide a shred of evidence without going against the grain.
If I flat out told you the truth… I would have already done so and we'd all be getting along."

"And what exactly do you mean by we?"

"Your team and I… in short Weiss, you and just going to have to take my word that whatever you might think about me, that I have something against your team, or I'm somehow lying about myself… is just misplaced trust.
I won't lie, I have secrets, the scope of what they are and why goes beyond the simple answers you were hoping to find when you decided to arrange this.

They are important such that you leave them well enough alone, though your intentions of finding answers are good, and I'd happily tell you as I said…

The outcome that could happen if I told you could be possibly detrimental.
Surely there are secrets that have been withheld by your friends or family?
And what was the outcome or your reaction after finding out just one of those that had been kept from you?"

Blake being a faunus was a secret that should have taken time, if it weren't for Sun… I don't know how long Blake would have waited to tell us.

A sigh escaped Weiss' mouth before the audible click could be heard, the safety switch on Gambol Shroud coming on before the heiress shifted in her seat, a move Zen could only guess as her holstering the weapon.

"We can sit here for hours going back and forth with this tiresome exchange, you're not budging with your secrets and neither am I with my questions… so at least answer me one thing.

As a future huntsman, are you willing to fight for everyone, human and faunus or even those who might have done wrong in your eyes?"

"It is our duty to protect the people against the grimm, whatever the cost no matter the risk… I see no difference between a faunus and a human, we breathe the same air, bleed the same way and above all else are equal targets for the beasts of Remnant."

She nodded approvingly before her features changed this time to slight annoyance.

"There's also one other thing that has been bugging me, and I was wondering if you can shed some light on the subject?"

"What's that then?"

"Who is Satan?"

"Um... What?"

Zen looked quite perplexed as to why Weiss would ask him such a vague yet straightforward question.

"It happened a few days ago… "

"Your next assignment will be due within the next week as well as an exam.
To test your knowledge we will be having a mock version tomorrow and go over the course material if anyone has questions on content that we have discussed thus far…"

Professor Port drawled on with homework which was causing Nora to doze off, though she wasn't allowed the sweet reprieve as Ren nudged her.

She then looked over to Weiss and could swear that even she was looking bored from this unusually duller than normal lesson.
"I guess Satan's got his work cut out if he has to compete with Port, am I right Weiss."

"I don't understand."

Ren and Nora's faces went emotionless as they looked at each other before Nora slowly replied.

"Satan, the mythical guy who punishes the wicked, Zen told us about him, he said it was an Atleasain saying."

"Hmm, I've never heard of Satan before, perhaps it could be a local legend."

It's either this lesson that is doing it, or my natural curiosity. I am intrigued about this 'Satan', especially if Zen was the one to mention him.

At the End of the lesson Weiss shot up from her seat and made her way to the one place she could find answers other than the library.
She felt that there was an important need to check what Nora had said, with one thought floating in the back of her mind, for some reason or another that little voice in her head said for her to find answers to prove herself wrong.
She could see the building getting larger in sight, the CCT as always standing out in comparison to the surrounding buildings and open walkways.

Once at the top she found an empty terminal, sat down and began keying in the word.

Are you referring to the textile material Satin?

Was all that displayed back at her.

"So if Satan isn't a phrase that is at all mentioned in Pleiades literature, mythos or even in Remnant, then where does it come from?

"Okay, so Satan might not be a character unique to Pleiades specifically.
He is more of a folktale passed down by my family, sometimes the stories were more grandiose than others, some he is portrayed as having a goat head, most of the time though he has goat horns… actually when I say it out loud I feel maybe some of those stories might have been in lue of trying to demonise the faunus during the war."

This is getting a little ridiculous, I think we're done here.

"Thank you for meeting up with me, this has been an… interesting discussion to say the least."

"Not to make this sound weird but does this make us friends?"

"That for now, remains to be seen, just because I'm not like Yang and actively despising you doesn't mean we are on good terms just yet."

"I dunno, I assure you I'd be honoured to call you friend, and not because you are part of the SDC or because you are simply friends with Ruby."

"What exactly is your point? Some form of flattery?"

"Let's put it this way..."

Zen replied as he went to get up.

"Never look a gift horse in the mouth."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Don't find a fault in something that has been given to you."

"Referring to your friendship as the metaphorical horse? But don't you mean don't ignore a sword in a Grimm's nest?"

"Yeah sure that's it."

He replied quickly as he left Weiss to really try to comprehend everything that took place and whether or not it was worth all of her time and effort, though this evening surely will yield greater results once back at her dorm.

Another chapter done and dusted, will try to get the next one out in a more timely fashion, and as for the chapter after that?

Well I'm really excited to get that edited and posted as it was an early draft but I won't say much.

Oh and for those wondering what has kept me from posting once again, blame Fortnite and their no builds mode, as much as I love halo infinite, I have admit that it does have flaws, being a live service game being one of them and Fortnite is actually a good benchmark for what a live service game can/should be.

But enough about the dort, have people seen RWBY:Ice Queendom, the animation looks nice and though reading subtitles sometimes can take you away from the main screen, it is nice to hear the Japanese VA do great jobs of playing their respective characters.

Oh and a big congratulations to the James Webb Space Telescope for bringing us such beautiful images of the cosmos, of course coming from the legacy that was Hubble to then surpass, though these images are more detailed and shed more light (or rather collect said light) on these massive structures, we can't forget how awstriking Hubbles images were when we saw them for the first time (after the errors had been corrected that is).

Anyhow as of right now (if not every time I post a new chapter) it is late and I am going to bed.
Thank you for reading and see you next chapter.
