Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it, happy holidays to those of you that don't, and to those who do not have a holiday this time of year, hi! I hope you guys like this chapter; Nico is my favorite person like ever, so I enjoyed writing this. Tell me who your favorite character is in the reviews. Now for the reaping of district 10...

District 10

"Zoe Nightshade!"

Zoe walked up to the stage with a determined expression on her face. She did not want to compete, but she also knew that the cameras had your every move on live television. If she wanted to get sponsors so she could win and come back home, she would have to be a Capital favorite from the minute she was chosen. She walked on the stage and smiled at the crowd. Everyone looked confused, but Zoe knew that the Capital was loving this. She would just have to hope this was enough.

"Nico di Angelo!"

No one knew him. No one knew how old he was, and barely anyone even knew his name before the reaping. But everyone recognized him. He was one of the two kids that never talked to anyone; they didn't have parents, but somehow, they had money. They robbed places. Everybody knew it. But nobody could prove it. They were never caught. It was almost like they could move in the shadows.

It was no surprise to anybody that the boy was chosen. People that threaten the Capital always do. The question was, why didn't the girl get picked?

The boy stood on the stage fiddling with a small toy, looking at the crowd with a blank expression. This kid did not look very old, 13 or 14 maybe. Honestly, nobody in district 10 was sad to see him go. They were all a little bit scared of the boy with dark hair that almost covered his eyes and eyes so dark, they might as well be black.

Nico didn't care that he was going to die. The only person he had left was his sister, and she would be okay without him. He knew he would never win. Winners always had sponsors, and no one was going to sponsor the creepy kid from the most random district in Panem. Trying was pointless; he probably would just lay down by the Cornucopia during the bloodbath and wait for the careers to stab him to death for entertainment. Oh well, his sister would get over it soon. Hopefully, she wouldn't watch the games. He would rather her just remember him before the games; he would tell her this in the Justice Building in a few minutes when she came to say goodbye. It's okay, 15 years was a long enough life for him.

The escort was talking to the crowd, and just like every year she asked,

"Any volunteers?" And Nico expected just like every year, for no one to come forward.

That's why Nico was so surprised when he heard a girl's voice say,

"I volunteer as tribute."

The escort was excited out of her mind when district 10 had their first volunteer probably ever.

"And what is your name?" the escort said, with a smile wider than Nico had thought was possible. Who knew people from the Capital got so excited over people volunteering to die?

"Bianca di Angelo," the girl responded.

The escort turned to Zoe, saying, "Shoo, shoo, now."

Zoe looked like she wanted to hug Bianca as she ran off the stage.

Bianca tried to walk over to Nico, but the escort was far from done with asking her questions.

"Your last name is di Angelo, the same as the other tribute's. Are you related?"

"Yes, he is my little brother," Bianca answered.

"That's nice. Last question, why did you volunteer?" the escort asked her.

"I don't want him to be in the games alone," Bianca responded.

Bianca walked over to Nico.

"What?" Nico asked. "See, now why would you go and do a thing like that?"

"Like I said, Neeks, my little brother isn't going to be in the games alone."

"You're stupid, sorella," Nico fought back. "I could have won."

"One, I know. And two, no, you could not have."

"Bia, I don't want to die," Nico whispered to her.

"Me neither fratello. This doesn't mean we will die; we could escape. We never have gotten caught, Nico. Why start now?

Thank you for reading and please remember to review. In case you are wondering, fratello means brother and sorella means sister in Italian. I used Google translate; if it is not correct, please tell me and I will change it. See you for the reaping of district 11...
