Chapter Three
Whisked Away
Carlos and I opened the revolving door by pressing a button on the wall to find a stimulator, complete with controls, steering wheel or control, computers, blank screen (which looked like a windscreen) & sits equipped seatbelts. Everything looked so real and impressive but what was freaky was everything just suddenly lit up when we entered like it was alive & sensed our presents "Don't you think thats a little weird?" i asked Carlos "Oh DA its most likely programmed to do that when someone enters the room" Carlos answered seeming unconcerned. Suddenly the revolving door closed behind us and a computer like voice started to speak "Welcome to the Walkerville Planetarium Spaceship Stimulator Console, experience an adventure through space & explore our Marvelous Solar System" the voice then continued and asked us to take a seat "Please kindly take a seat and when you are ready press the flashing green start button on the middle of the console to start your journey", "Bet you the whole thing is programmed to do this" i stated to Carlos. "Yeah guess so well we might as well experience it, press the button!". Carlos pressed the flashing green button on the console. I stated as i sat in one of the seats which happened to be what looked like the drivers seat, Carlos had sat himself down in the other "Why do you get to steer?" he asked "and why do think we need seatbelts? Its just a Stimulator!" he asked.
Before i could even answer him, suddenly, there was movement like the room was vibrating. We looked at the screen to find it was pixelating something. After a few seconds a picture formed to what looked like a digital version of a Walkerville street "Wow thats cool! " i examined. Then something spooky happened the voice started to speak again "Welcome aboard fellow travellers, hope you enjoy this experience! Now before we blast off, its been noticed that you are not wearing the appropriate gear, please hold still while we equip you with spacesuits". Before Carlos and I could even make an escape suddenly we showered in a warm pool of light "What the heck is going on?" i hear Carlos shout, i then looked over towards him and shouted back to him "Carlos, i think this is not a normal stimulator!" As we looked up there was a bright spot light above the both of us "So fake, what do you think is going to happen now? We get aducted!" Carlos examined "Carlos!" i shouted to him knowing he was trying to do one of his typical puns. The light only lasted a few seconds but the light was very blinding we had to really blink our eyes before we could get our normal vision back. I then brought down my head to look towards Carlos to find that somethimg amazing had happened, he was now wearing a space suit complete with helmet and everything! I too also was now wearing a fully equipt space suit as i looked down at myself, along with the seat belt that had cris crossed over me snapping shut with a loud click! "Hey DA, i think we are going on an adventure!" i hear Carlos say "Carlos, its like we have been frizzled!" i answered back to him but the only thing is where was Ms Frizzle? Is this what Fiona Frizzle was up to when i saw her in a distance eariler? Is this so called Stimulator the Magic School Bus? This was getting creepier by the minute but in the same sense a little exciting!
There was no escape now. Carlos and i were now tightly strapped in our seats and fully spacesuit equipped. The Stimulation started to speak again "Now you are fully appropriately dressed, begin count down, 10, 9, 8, 7". We started to feel the room shake, the screen started to point towards the sky and the console was lighting up like crazy "6, 5, 4, 3,". Carlos and I looked at each and took a deep breath! "2, 1 BLAST OFF!" the voice shouted. "I think we are going on an advenure Carlos, this has to be magic!" i said to Carlos as we both were being shaked around in our seats, its no wonder we needed seatbelts "Yeah look at the screen, we are heading into the sky, this is no Stimulation DA! This is a Rocket Ship!" Carlos shouted over the sound of what sounded like rocket engines. It did lead to many questions, my brain was going like crazy coming up with all these questions that needed answers, Why is this happening? Who's behind this? Why us and how?. Then Carlos oviously heard me "DA just enjoy the moment, when would be the next time you get whisked off to space unexpectly, exprience what's happening now and worry about questions later!". He was right, i admit this is exciting! Being whisked away to space! Now that does not happen everyday! "Do you think we will be able to get back home?" i asked Carlos, he smiled at me with one of his cheeky grins. Somehow that made me feel a little more calmer it reminded me when he use to do that during Ms Frizzle's fields trips and then there were times were he would be just plain annoying. Is that side going to be present today? I dont know!
Just then i could see the reflection on Carlos's helmet was getting darker. We looked towards the windscreen and could see that the day light outside was turning darker and darker, it was like it was turning into night. Stars were appearing on the screen "Wow cool!" I heard Carlos say "Do you think we really have left Earth?", "I don't know Carlos, it all seems real to me" i answered back to him. Just then the rocket engines started to slow down and quieten down, the Stimulator/Rocket seemed to be running itself. The voice started to speak again "We have now left our Earth's Atmosphere, welcome to outerspace!". This has to be magic because no one on earth would be able to make it into space this quick! "Its like we have been kidnapped!" I said to Carlos as i gazed at the windscreen "Well if we have, i guess there is no turning back now! Let's have an adventure!".
