"You have to fucking kidding me," Hookfang sniggered, shaking his shoulders.

"What if I'm not?" Tobias frowned at him, narrowing his eyes.

"How could you not?" James shook his head obviously, but then straightened, noticing Toothless's rather serious tone on his face. "Fuck, you're not joking. You're seriously serious? Really?" He snorted when Tobiad stared at him motionlessly. "I can't believe you're considering it an option."

"I don't know if it isn't the only one."

"What?! Of course, there is another option!"

"Which would be?!"

"I don't know," James inhaled, throwing his arms. "How about not making any absurd decisions, that might ruin your life?!"

Gritting his teeth, Tobias avoided his sight, gazing at the car's wheel. "It seems the best choice now."

"Now. It's a good choice now, and only now."

"Didn't I already explain that? Hiccup's case is troublesome, almost unsolvable. Look I," he tensed his jaw. "I don't want him to get the life I had. I don't want him to become an orphan. I can't let that happen!"

"And because of that, you're going to become his hero, savior?! It's one of the most irresponsible things I heard from you, ever!"

"How is that irresponsible?!"

"You are fucking eighteen! People your age struggles with teenage pregnancy, and what are you doing? You want to adopt an infant. Are you crazy?!"

"Listen, I get what you're saying, but if that's the only possibility, I'll take it."

"What happened to you?! Why do you love a kid you just found out exists?! Why are you so attached to him?!"

"I don't know! I have no idea what happened, but either I don't care about it!" Toothless barked, sharply. "What I care about is Hiccup! Alright?! Finally, I care and I'm not willing to stop suddenly!"

Straightening in his seat, Tobias tapped his foot on the floor, before snarling and getting out of the car. Afterward, Hookfang gaped at his movements puzzled, before leaving his spot just as well. While he glanced over the car's roof, he detected his friend, who pressed his head into it, panting soundly. Both leaned on the car's door, before Tobias, sighed, interrupting the silence around.

"Since meeting him, witnessing his story, taking responsibility for protecting in that fucking rain, until the ambulance came, something snapped in me. I can't explain that. It occurred so suddenly, so unexpectedly. Do you think I am not surprised by myself? Of course, I am."

"I don't get it," James grumbled, harshly. "You met him, took care of him for ten minutes, and," he threw his arm, in his direction. ", that happens?"

"It is strange, but not for me, not now. Now, that I know what it is like to care, I want to care. I want to be attached to him, although it's not the best," Tobias peeked at him, grinning weakly. "He's attached to me too, you know?"

"And so what? As a friend, I am attached to you as well. Either is Sarah, who you dumped out of your house."

"Okay, I understand what you're implying, but you don't understand what I am. Back then, on that street, I just had to look after him, that's all. However, he surprised me, when instead of pushing me away, being scared, he came only closer. He needed me, then when he was all safe, he wanted me. That amazing child wanted me. He liked me."

"We, your friend, like you too, you know?"

"James,"

"Tobias, I feel neglected now, if I had to be honest," Hookfang snarled, turning around, supporting himself with his back on the car's door. "I'm doing so much, trying my best to involve you in everything, despite your unwillingness, and you say that you love that kid because what? Because he smiled at you, once?"

"Hookfang, are you jealous?" Toothless glanced at him, smirking.

"Dick, I am not," James barked, crossing his arms. "Besides, why I am trying? You're an asshole. Why do I bother?"

"Because you're a great friend, James. I know that," Tobias gaped at him, seriously. "I might not show that, but I do value that, in my way of valuing things around me. You know that if I'm saying that out loud it's true," the corner of his mouth lifted, hearing James's snort. "Back to Hiccup, he's just, I'm not sure how to name it. He's just not afraid of me. Maybe he's too innocent, I don't know, but he seems to see me as a monster I sometimes feel like."

"I don't understand him. With his tiny build, and your wideness I would be terrified on his spot."

"I'm glad your humor is back," Tobias chuckled and straightened. "I know it all sounds crazy, but because of all of that, I don't want to let him go. Never."

"Okay, I get some things, why you care et cetera, et cetera. However, I would like to remind you you're eighteen. You are at the beginning of your life. Wouldn't you mind losing your best years of life, raising a stranger's child?"

"You are my best friend. Answer for me."

"You wouldn't," James tensed his shoulders and inhaled, soundly. ", but,"

"There is no but, Hook. These years you're talking about, those parties, those short, meaningless moments are unnecessary for me. It's about giving Hiccup a whole, better life! Do you think I'll be able to enjoy these best years, knowing that I could make a change? That I choose my few years of happiness, instead of providing the infant with the house he could feel loved in?"

Instead of answering, James sank in himself, then exhaled, loudly. "All of that, for one boy."

"For the boy, who became an orphan because of his parents' ruthlessness," Tobias furrowed, turning his head away from the red-haired teenager. "You know how it is. To be abandoned by someone who was supposed to protect you, not hurt you. The only difference is Hiccup lost both his parents, not just one."

Hearing that, Hookfang straightened himself, growling. "You dare to bring that claim, seriously?!" He mutter-shouted. "Alright, you know what? I don't care," he moved away from him, walking in direction of his house. "I don't give a damn fuck! It's your life, do whatever you want! I warned you, so don't come afterward to me for help. You're on your own now!"

Stepping inside the familiar him building, James panted, gritting his teeth in anger. For a moment there, he leaned by the door, until he heard a sharp whistle of wheels. Eventually, he glanced through the window and the car was gone.

", and I told her that I might give her another chance, but she must show me I can trust her again-, Hookfang are you listening to me?"

Side by side, both James and Sarah walked through the streets in the early morning. Peeking at her, Hoomfang didn't hide the fact he ignored her, and shrugging he glanced back forward and snorted.

"Babe, I hear these stories thrice, fourfold times a day. You can't expect me to focus on such an abominable hour."

"Poor boy," she pouted at him and furrowed. "Now, imagine I feel the same each time you open your mouth. Besides, for me, it seems like you're always negligent if it doesn't involve twins' dumb shits."

"They are funny, in contrast to someone I know," he narrowed his eyes at her, while she grumbled at him, angrily. Even so, he grasped her hand and swayed it, until Stromfly's face was covered in an embarrassed blush. "Besides, let's say I had a rather bad time, recently."

"Okay," she nodded swiftly and gazed forward, grinning innocently.

Odd, James raised his brow at her, and attempting to shake off the feeling of suspicion, he failed. "You're not going to ask?"

"No, I'm not stupid enough for that," she sighed, slowly. "Every time I do, you tell me stories about your giant problems, in which you always involve me, but not this time," she snorted, shaking her head. "I'm just tired of saving my boyfriend's ass, you know? Besides, in thirty minutes we have to be in school, and I would prefer to drink my coffee without unnecessary worry. Can't we talk about something, I don't know, normal?!"

"Fine," he snarled and both were encircled by the awkward silence. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he whistled in boredom, opening his mouth a couple of times. "How are your parents?"

"What's the case about?"

While he smirked at her victorious, both stepped inside the warm café, surrounded by the smell of fresh bread, the noise of people, and the whistle of coffee makers. After they walked to the cashier and made their orders, Hookfang crossed his arms, grumbling.

"Yesterday I got into an argument, but you'll never guess with who-,"

"Tobias, of course."

"How did you know?"

"Come one, James. I know you way better than you can imagine. Besides, it's rather obvious, knowing your relation."

"Our relation?"

"Let's just say you're a better couple than we are," she snickered, squinting her eyes at him. "I might be your girlfriend, but he's your husband," she chortled, while Hookfang covered his eyes, embarrassed. "You are always fighting, hiding that you care about each other, like an old, married couple! You love to bother one another like it's your vocation."

"Now, I understand what you meant while doubting our relationship's impossible length."

"Hookfang, say me, am I not right? We both know that I am," she leaned on his arm and he avoided her sight, rumbling. "Isn't that strange, how your relationship with him is almost the same as the one with your girlfriend? The only difference is that you're not kissing. Yet," she burst into a chuckle.

"I'll never, ever, kiss him," he gagged at the sound of it. ", in my fucking entire life. Never!"

"Never say never."

"Goddamit Sarah! Would you like it?! Shouldn't you be jealous, or something?! You're my girlfriend, damn it!"

"James~," she crooned, grinning. "You know that I love you, but if you love Tobias, I'll understand that! We'll stay friends no matter what!"

"No, no, no! I can't fucking believe you're saying that" he covered his ears, turning around from her. "I don't listen! I don't listen! I don't listen-!"

"Okay, okay!" She giggled, gripping his arms and forcing him to glance at her. "Don't be so moody! It doesn't suit you," she kissed his chin and thereafter around them remained comfortable silence.

Patiently, they both waited for their ordered coffees, and afterward, they left with two to-go cups. While so, Sarah was peeking at James, worried about his quiet, pensive, unusual behavior. She wanted to hear his words, no matter how rude or stupid they could've got, she sighed and when they sat by the two cafe's tables, she inhaled soundly.

"I can't believe I'm doing it," she mumbled and straightened at her spot. "What happened between the two of you this time?"

"Well, it began by yesterday evening. We-,"

"Yesterday evening? We were in hospital then."

"As I was about to say, we met inside of it. Just as we were leaving I took notice of his jacket and-," he grunted, detecting Sarah's narrowed, upset eyes. ", and I went to search for him there."

"Great~," she crooned annoyed and snarled. "That's nice to know my boyfriend hid something like that from me."

"Listen, I wanted to face him on my own, alright?"

"For now," she sank in her chair, crossing her arms. "Anyway, you went to find him. Did you accomplish it?"

"Yes, and I witnessed the strangest sight in the history of sights!"

"I saw you, twins, even Tobiad doing things that are unthinkable for normal human beings. I think I'll manage."

"What about the view of Tobias Night, that Tobiad, Toothless, holding an infant with a smile?!"

Widening her eyes, she leaned over the table, almost knocking the chair down. "No fucking way!" She gasped, blinking at him furiously. "I don't believe it! I mean-, what?! When?! How?!"

"I was just as shocked!"

"This guy doesn't even glance at the kids! I always guessed he hates them!"

"I believed just as well!"

"Then what changed that?!"

"Well," he sighed, tensing his shoulders. ", probably that whole situation."

"Situation? What situation?" She raised a brow at him. "What had to happen to change his behavior so much?"

Glancing at her troubled, he thought over his words, meanwhile taking a sip of his coffee. Instantly, he regretted it as he jumped from it rapidly, after it burnt his tongue. While Stormfly burst into a laugh, he growled at her.

"Hilarious."

"Only a moron like you would drink a hot coffee at once," she

"At least I'm not dumb enough to wear a summer shirt in spring," he smirked, squirming his eyes at her.

"What did you just say?!" She threw her arms, open-mouthed. "How dare you question my fashion style! You wear a fucking vest, like an old man!"

"You said you liked it!"

"My fire spark, my sweet, dumb, idiot," she grinned innocently and poked his nose with a finger. "I lied. Wasn't that obvious?"

"No, it wasn't! Since when statement it's great is an obvious lie?!"

"I'm pretty sure I pointed out an irony. Besides, I said it's really great. Do you see a difference?"

"No, I'm now," he shook his head and sipped his coffee, slowly. "Women."

"What did you just say?" Sarah narrowed her eyes, gritting her eyes.

He blinked at her, startled. "I love you?"

It must have been a wrong answer because it wasn't a second later that she attacked him. Grasping his shoulders, he shook his whole body forth and back, laughing in meantime. Eventually, when his head spun, he counterattacked, tickling her armpits.

At the movement, she flinched back, giggling soundly. People around stared at them, like on the part of maniacs, but they didn't bother by that. That was there, and only their moment, James chuckled and pushed her chair closer to himself.

His arms encircled her in a strange embrace, while he got hold of her love handles which he squeezed gently. Feeling so, her eyes widened and she moved away, blushing. James attempted to smile at her brightly, but Sarah only turned her head to the side, avoiding his sight.

"You know I don't like that," she hugged herself.

"Why?" He dragged his chair to hers and putting his hand on her thigh he nipped it. "Stop being named, baby. You're beautiful just the way you are."

Glancing at him, she loosened after he kissed her on the lips, momentarily. "Thank you," she exhaled, sinking into the chair. "Despite the things they're saying about you, you might sometimes-,"

"Besides, you don't have to fit in that pair," he raised his chin, tensing his arm muscles. "I might be done for both of us," he winked at her, cocking his brows.

"And the moment died. Thanks, goof," she pushed him away, pressing his shoulder farther, causing him to almost fell from the chair. "You didn't explain the situation, still."

"Right," he straightened on the seat, furrowing. "Well, I learned, that the particular boy is after rather awful experiences. Tobias found him on the streets, abandoned."

"Oh no," she gasped, covering her mouth. "Poor, poor thing."

"From what I heard, he had hypothermia, he's without the leg and now, without parents."

"That's horrible," she tensed, while Hookfang nodded. "What a fucking, ruthless people!" She thrust her hand into the table, and loosened, inhaling. "Although, what that has to do with Tobias?"

"Our dear Toothless, imagine that is attached to him, and the boy likewise."

"You're joking," she snickered, shocked.

"I wish I would. Toby explained to me that's mostly happened because of some kind of trust, however, I still don't understand it," he sighed, soundly.

"Trust?" She smiled weakly at him while he nodded. "Don't be harsh on yourself, babe. You showed him a lot of trusts just as well."

"At least you noticed," he tapped his fingers into the plastic of his cup. "The boy will be released from the hospital in a few days."

"I guess he'll be sent to an orphanage afterward?" She tossed when James nodded. "Since Tobias beliked him so much, he'll be miserable," she frowned, straightening in her spot. "We must help him somehow."

"We?"

"Yes, we. I understand that our help didn't work last time, but back then we didn't know the issue. Maybe now-,"

"No, Sarah. There is where you're wrong, to begin with. We are not going to help him. You didn't see how we ate each other in our argument. I won't help him."

"James," she groaned, streaming her pal through her face. "What did you even argue about? You were jealous or-,"

"Tobias wants to adopt him."

"You're kidding, right?" She blinked at him struck dumb and stared at the coffee before her. "What the hell," she muttered, leaning herself over the table. "Why would he," she tsked and threw herself back into the chair's back. "Or maybe," she furrowed, thoughtfully.

"That's what my reaction was, too. Tobias became a fucking, irresponsible, stupid-,"

"I don't think like that," she mumbled, gazing at James certain. "That might be a good idea."

"Good idea?! Seriously?!"

"Let's take a look at it from another perspective. Tobias is, well himself, maybe because he feels lonely. After all, he never got family, nobody to take care of, nobody that would take care of him. Maybe, by gaining them, he would find a reason to take care of himself, finally."

"You think that'll work? Really?! Sarah, that man can't take care of himself, so how can you expect him to take care of someone?!"

"James, I doubt he threw these words on the wind, randomly. He has to love that boy, and with that love, he might achieve that. If he found someone to keep on for, finally, he would. That is how it works because we want to be better for those we love the most," she put her hand on his. "It's a good idea, and we should support him in it."

"What about his young?! Is it worth sacrificing the experience of it?! Am I the only one noticing that issue?"

"Yes, because it's not the issue. It is worth it because it's giving the little boy home. Besides, let's be real," she snorted. "I don't think Tobias'll be interested in that young experience. He isn't like you. He never will be curious about partying, traveling, or anything else. That's a chance for him, to gain something as important as family."

"Maybe," he stroked his eyelids. "Although, I said to him, straight into his face, to not ask for my help. Now, I feel like shit."

"Both of you, for sure, were in strong emotions and said hard words. It's usual for you, already," she snickered and grunted. "Just Talk it out. There is nothing conversation won't fix," she tensed her hold on his hand and beamed. "It's going to be okay. I assure you."

"If you insist," he returned the hold and grinned, weakly. "Thank you, babe. I love you."

"I'll answer only after you make up," she pressed her pointing finger into his enclosing lips and giggled, noticing James's offended frown.

Standing in front of wooden doors he feared the most by the hour of ten p.m, James flinched, hesitating to bang on them. There is no escape from it, he inhaled, deciding to knock on them. He must do it anytime soon, anyway.

When the door opened, after a short moment, revealing Tobias in his pajama, Hookfang smiled anxiously at him. "Hey, Toby! Tobias! Toothless!"

"Hookfang, what do you want?" Tobias snarled, crossing his arms.

"Well, a lot of things, but firstly, I didn't know you had pajamas! There was a theory that you didn't own one like it didn't even exist-,"

"Good night," Toothless pushed the door to close them.

Subsequently, James held it to prevent him from that. "Secondly," he exclaimed, grunting. "I wanted to talk with you," he smiled weakly when Toothless opened the door sighing, and inhaled soundly. "I would like to say that j was mean and I shouldn't behave the way I did. I shouldn't say things I said and I feel bad for doing that. Are we alright now?"

Raising his brow, Tobias observed nervously grinning James. "Did you just apologize to me without apologizing?"

"I think so," Hookfang chuckled and swallowed. "All right?"

"Fine," Toothless exhaled soundly and peeked to the side. "You should leave."

"It ain't all, I didn't finish!" James pressed his hand into the door, increasing the gap in it. "I was wrong, about all of-,"

"No, you weren't," Tobias tightened his grip on the door, gritting his teeth. ", and that's the problem."

Grumbling, he swiftly turned around and walked to the center of his apartment, grasping his neck, tight. Afterward, without permission, neither welcome, James stepped inside, frowning surprised. When he was closing the door behind himself, his eyes were directed at the black-haired teenager, who mumbled.

"Atali didn't allow me to see Hiccup today."

"What? Why?! What happened."

"Imagine, that she told me she heard about my state, about my ignoration to my health, so she won't let me see him until I look after myself," Tobias peeked at James and loosened, while the red-haired teenager tensed his fists. "I don't blame you for the truth, Hook. She would find out sooner or later. I blame myself only, after all, it was I who was irresponsible, feckless, reckless," he hid his face in his palms. "Thinking, I was dumb enough to believe I could take care of him, daily, when I barely can't of myself."

"You thought good, and clear as always," James moved closer to him, standing by his turned away side.

Tilting his head, he got a better view of Tobias's covered face and gasped soundlessly at the sight of his eyes swelled with tears. Eventually, he straightened and inhaled, certainly.

"Toby, you were right, and I wasn't. Honestly, I thought selfish, basing my words on my own experiences, forgetting it's your life and that you have the right to decide what's good and bad on your own," he rested his hand on Toothless's shoulder, who peeked at him, shaking. "Look, I find you one of the most responsible, strong, and stubborn people I know, and because of this, I think you won't have any problem with adopting Hiccup, seriously."

"Charmer, aren't you?" Tobias chuckled and wiping his face from tears he straightened.

"Of course, I am," Hookfang raised his chin and patted his back. "Throughout the whole time, I thought what you were implying was taking Hiccup's needs before your own, but the truth is I was fucking wrong! You're doing it to gain yourself a family. Someone you could love, truly, and someone to always have as your own. If that's not an excellent reason, then I don't have any idea what would be."

"What precisely you're trying to suggest?"

"Isn't that clear? You have to adopt him! With your responsibility, and attachment you'll be the best parent in the world," Hookfang smirked brightly while Toothless turned to him and his eyes widened when he hugged him.

"You have no idea how much these words mean to me," Tobias tightened his grip on him, while James returned the favor. "Although will I be able to take care of both of us?"

"To be fair-," James graded his shoulder and moved Tobias from himself to look him straight in the eyes. ", you'll be able of Hiccup, but when he'll be over your head, you'll wish you take care of yourself," he laughed and Toothless rolled his eyes, chuckling fake. "Besides, you won't be on your own," he encircled Toothless's shoulders with his arm, bringing him closer to himself. "I will help, Sarah will, Meatlug and twins! We are a team, who is going to achieve adopting little Hiccup in-," he blinked questioning.

"Few days."

"Few days! A lot of time! So, got to sleep young man, otherwise, that mission might fail, got it?!" Hookfang pushed him toward the bedroom door and he shook his head.

"I was, before you appeared-,"

"No explanation! Just go!"

"I will," Tobias nodded and glanced at James, smiling. "Thank you for the support."

"That's for what I'm here. After all, I'm the most supportive person in the world!"

"If you insist," Toothless cocked his brow and pointed at the entrance of the apartment. "Come on, the most supportive person in the world, I'll sendoff you to the door," he passed him, and after Hookfang followed he was about to go down the stairs of the building's hall, but Toothless stopped him. "James, I should apologize to you just as well, for mentioning your mother, earlier. She was an awful woman, who abandoned you. I should never recall her, even in an argument."

"You think I don't know that?!" Hookfang exclaimed with a fake offense. "The good thing that you're sorry."

"Couldn't you just say thank you?"

"That would be boring," James waved his hand while Toothless rolled his eyes. "Now, go to sleep and we'll see tomorrow."

"Right," Tobias leaned on the door frame, smiling gently. "See you tomorrow," he nodded at Hookfang the last time, who disappeared behind the corner and himself went back to his apartment, loosened.
