Frozen, Tobias stood still for something that felt like an eternity. His phone-holding arm trembled the same way his whole body did. Shockingly, he didn't faint, but his senses turned off, suddenly. Eventually, when his heart slowed down, the sounds got clearer, and inhaling, he straightened.

"I-I am. I'm just," he cleared his throat. "I'm surprised. That's all."

"I can say," Minden giggled and sighed, softly. "Are you excited to become a daddy?"

"I am, probably," Toothless frowned when James shook his hand and moved away from him, rambling through the kitchen. "W-What now? I mean, I'm not sure what to do," he scratched his neck.

"It's okay. That's why I am here."

From behind the phone, he heard the noise of teaching papers around, and at the event, his back shivered. It felt like a dream for him, he bit his lip to restrain himself from giggling. Moments ago, he wondered how would he be able to sleep, but now?

"Okay," Minden crooned, soundly. "The idea is to meet in about half an hour in city hall. I've got a few papers, which need your name on them. I'll prepare everything and after sighing you may take Henry home, immediately."

"Immediately?" Toothless swallowed, biting his fingernails.

"That's right. I spoke with Atali and she assured me Henry is ready to leave the hospital. She kept him longer, in case someone interested in adoption, like you, would appear. So, is the meeting in half an hour okay? I promise these will be only formalities. I granted the permission already, so besides questions about documentation, there will be no other."

"Awesome," he cracked and grunted, instantly. "Then, it's settled. Half an hour."

"Exactly. See you soon."

"See you soon," Tobias peeked at the phone and turned it off, immediately glimpsing James laying on the couch, face first, and raising his brow at him. "What are you doing?"

"Ignoring you," Hookfang sat up, furrowing. "I got bored with trying to revive you," he stood up and came over to Toothless. "I thought you had gone insane! What the conversation was about?"

"It was that civil servant-,"

"I took it from your talking, but what did she want?"

"She apologized to me for her earlier behavior, and gave me permission for adoption," Tobias grinned, brightly, while Hookfang's eyes widened. "I've adopted Hiccup."

"That's amazing, Toby!" James embraced him I'm a bear hug tightly and Tobias returned the favor, beaming. "I knew you could do it," he grasped his shoulder, moving Toothless slightly away, so their eyes met. "After that great help, you received from me, it was rather obvious," he stank his chest out, elbowing Tobias, who rolled his eyes at him. "What can I say? I'm the best."

Shaking his head, Toothless chuckled. "One I have to admit, I wouldn't have done that without you," he smirked at him.

"Bullshit, of course, you would."

"Maybe, but I'm bladder, knowing you were by me through even worst."

"That's what are friends for," Hookfang encircled Toothless's neck with his arm. "Anyway, when we're going to get your baby, daddy?" He blinked as his eyes widened with embarrassment and let go of Tobias. "Please, don't say Sarah I said that."

"I'm not going to say, anyone!"

"Let it stay between us."

"I will take it to the grave."

Fortunately, the awkward moment was interrupted, when the flat's door opened, revealing the familiar group of people. One by one, they burst inside, some with reassuring smiles and some smirking, teasingly. Holding a glass bottle, Belch belonged to the second type.

"Hey, Night!" He exclaimed, crooning. "We have alcohol, so let's wipe these tears off and have some fun!"

In the meantime, Barf leaned on Tobias's shoulder, tiptoeing. "We have vodka, whiskey, beer, everything you would like!" He smirked, showing the colorful bottles in his grass, while Toothless glanced at him and elbowed him straight into his stomach, causing him to bent in half.

Facepalming, Sarah groaned. "I asked for something for consolation! I didn't mean the whole bar!" She streamed her hand through her face.

"Stormfly, honey, this is our chance to see him drunk, finally," Belch pouted at her, innocently. "There is no way that we're going to miss it," he turned to Tobias and straightened. "Toothless, sweetheart, I suggest we start with that cheap whiskey James brought. Then, we'll get to vodka and about the first a.m., we may finish with beer and wine. What'll you say?"

"If I wanted to vomit looking straight at your face for a full minute would be enough," Toothless smirked, first bumping Hookfang.

"You know Tobias, maybe alcohol it's the best choice for you, now," Martha squealed, awkwardly. "You lived through so much today, and drinking isn't the only way to forget," she shrugged when both teams gasped, soundly. "What? I mean, we may watch movies, play something. We have a whole night, don't we? It's a lot of time."

Blinking at her, Tobias realized something, suddenly. "But, I don't have time!" he shouted and rambled in circles.

"What do you mean?" James crossed his arms, raising a brow at him. "Do you have a deadline?"

"She expects me in half an hour at the city hall!"

"Half an hour is a lot of time! Besides, it's ten minutes from here. Calm down!"

"You don't understand! I didn't buy anything! I got no clothes, no nappies, literally nothing!"

"You've got nothing and you accepted a visit in half an hour?!" Hookfang's eyes widened. "What's wrong with you?!"

"I panicked, okay?! What else could I say?!"

"I don't know?! Maybe, if you could get a little more time?!"

"Stop yelling!" Sarah exclaimed, pitching the bridge of his nose. "Can you explain what's going on?"

"I think that I know a good explanation," Barf looked around at everyone, narrowing his eyes seriously. "They'll kidnap that child," he grumbled after receiving an irritated groan from everyone. "What? They were something about nappies! I took it out of context!"

"Barf, I am certain even Toothless isn't insane enough to kidnap an innocent infant," Martha grinned weakly and squeaked, glancing at the mentioned teenager. "You aren't, are you?"

"Obviously no! I-,"

"That's a perfect idea!" Belch exclaimed, beaming like a maniac. "It shouldn't be hard if we work together-,"

"Nobody'll kidnap anybody!" Toothless barked, pitching his nose, and sighing. "Okay, you need an explanation? Fine. The civil servant called me because she changed her mind. I've adopted Hiccup, so may we-,"

"Congratulations!" Sarah hurried to him, embracing him by side, tightly. "I'm so happy for you two!"

"I-I-," Tobias exhaled, patting her back with his hand, anxiously. "Okay, thank you."

Gasping, Stromfly peeked at the rest of the group. "He hugged me back!" She whisper-shouted.

"Guys, please," Toothless frowned, buzzing. "There is an issue still and-,"

"I want huggie too!" Martha squawked and rushed to his free, another side, hugging herself to it. "It's like hugging a big, hard, teddy bear!"

Speechless, Toothless rolled his eyes and loosened, he stroked her head gently. Suddenly, he flinched at the impact on his back, caused by two, skinny teenagers who pounced at his back. At the movement, he struggled with the balance, but remained still, somehow.

"What the hell!" He growled, soundly.

"We need cuddles, too!" Barf squealed in his ear, causing Tobias to hiss, painfully.

"Barf, I'll cry," Belch sniffed, soundly. "I am hugging Batman, Darth Vader, and Bucky, all in one!"

"For fucking sake!" Tobias groaned, while his legs shook. "May you-,"

"Come here, everyone!" James laughed happily, embracing the whole gathering, with Toothless in the center, who sighed, soundly.

Ultimately, Tobias snapped, roaring. "Okay, enough!" he dumped the twins, and hence Hookfang, on the ground, while pushing lightly the girls away. "I need a space," he breathed loudly, moving away from everybody.

"I can't believe it," Belch raised his head from the ground, grinning. "He stood like that for thirty-seven seconds!"

"Toothless, I'm so proud of you," Sarah came over to the mentioned boy, pouting in limitation of a kiss. Immediately, he shoved her away, squeezing his hand against her face, and offended, she pushed it off, strongly. "I hate when you do that," she muttered, looking to the side.

"That's why I do that," Tobias smirked, shaking his head. "Back to the point, may we?" He sat on the couch heavily, clapping his hands on his nose and inhaling, loudly.

"Maybe, we could help you, somehow," Meatlug sat next to him, smiling compassionately.

"It seems without your help I can't otherwise," Toothless scratched his neck, peeking at everyone. "The shops are closed, since it's Sunday also I've got nothing from my childhood, and my time to sign these papers is lasting."

Standing up, James shoved off the clinging to him Belch, who fell to the ground. "Can't you just pick him up tomorrow?"

"No. I don't want him there any time longer," Tobias straightened, narrowing his eyes. "I want him to be home. His home," he frowned confused, noticing Sarah's stare at him. "What?"

"His home," she repeated, smiling brightly.

"Right," he nodded, loosening. "His home. Our home," he grinned momentarily, softened.

"Aw," Barf crooned, and stood up, supporting himself with the body of his brother, who impacted into the ground, again. "That's so sweet."

The mentioned brother snarled at him, glancing at his twin offended, before gazing at Tobias, pouting. "You love him! Although, please, remember to not ever send him to the temple! Just don't! It's not safe for him."

"I fucking can't with your movies references," Toothless covered his face with his hands. "May we focus already?! We don't have time for that! I don't have time for this!"

"Okay! Calm down! I've got a plan," Stormfly shouted, focusing everyone's attention on her. "How many cars do we have? Two, right?"

"Three," Tobias stood up, moving to the kitchen toward the bowl with his keys. "I'll give you mine."

While everyone's eyes widened at his words, Barf yelled, instantly. "I'm taking his car!"

"No fucking way!" Belch furrowed at him and elbowed him. "I will."

"I saw you drink vodka!" Barf pushed him, slightly. "You can't drive!"

"What a tracking snitch!" Belch pounced at him and within the moment they were on the ground, fighting like animals.

"It's like watching a TV show," Hookfang chuckled, pointing at them with his chin. "I love it."

"Neither of you'll drive my car," Toothless facepalmed, while the twins glanced at him, offended. "I'm not that crazy."

"Then, who will?" James raised his brow at him and his eyes widened when Tobias's gape rested on him for a long moment. "M-Me? B-But, I have drank whiskey-,"

"Only one glass," Tobias smirked at him, throwing keys at him, which bounced at motionless James's chest. "I trust you with them."

Grasping the keys, he pressed them over his heart, while his eyes swelled with tears. "Babe, he gave me his keys and let me drive his car," he sniffed and Sarah hugged his arm, while Martha patted his back.

"Anyway, back to the plan."

"Right," Stormfly grunted, soundly. "As I was saying, we have three cars. I propose three groups. Me with Martha, Tobias with James, and," she glanced at the fighting, for fun, brothers. ", twins," she groaned and gazed at the rest of the group. "We'll drive through family and friends, asking for necessary items," she tilted her head at Toothless. "What exactly do you need?"

"The clothes, for a few days only until I get the proper ones. Also, typical things, like nappies, tissues, and maybe even a pacifier, but most importantly, the carrier. I can't take him out of there in my arms, after all."

"It might be done," Martha smiled while everyone nodded. "How much time do we have?"

"Twenty minutes for the meeting," Toothless gazed at the hour on his phone. ", plus thirty minutes, because of its length."

"Alright, almost an hour. It's possible," Stormfly pointed at herself and Meatlug. "We're going to get these changing articles. My aunt runs a shop and maybe could open just for us."

"Before the meeting, we're going to my house," Hookfang impacted his hand into Tobias's back. "My father might have something from my childhood."

"We want to help too!" Belch exclaimed, as both, he and his brother stood before them. "We're going to get that carrier."

"No, no, no!" Tobias stored his eyelids, frowning. "It's delighting that you want to help, but that carrier is too important," he gazed at everyone. "Anyone else?"

"My father sold mine when I was a kid," Hookfang shrugged, shaking his head. "These things are expensive."

Sighing, Toothless narrowed his eyes at the twins. "If you'll bring a shopping basket-,"

"How did you know?!" Belch whisper-shouted, but before Tobias could wring his neck, he chuckled. "I'm joking. It was a joke. We're going to bring a normal carrier and if we won't, you can kill us with your lightsaber, if you want."

"Not only that but also I'll strangle you, until you describe to me the afterlife with every, single detail," Tobias stood up, overwhelming the twins' shrunk figures. "And if you think that's enough, know that I'll haunt you, even after death, for the rest of your afterlife!"

Shivering, both grinned, nervously. "We'll get you that carrier," Barf squealed, before they ran out of the apartment, swiftly.

Wiping his face with his arm, Toothless peeked at the rest. "Tell those imbeciles we'll see under the hospital in fifty minutes," he gazed at his phone and sighed, soundly. "Forty-six, now."

"It'll be okay," Martha came over to him and patted his back. "It's a final push, now."

"Exactly," Sarah raised her chin, crossing her arms. "Calm down, it's ended, already," she snorted and grunted at James, elbowing him.

"Right," Hookfang groaned, quietly. "C'mon Toby," he stood up, encircling his arm around his neck. "There is work to do."

"Thanks, guys," Toothless gazed at each of them. "I wouldn't have done that without you."

"We know," James stank his chest out. "You're lucky you have us," he tightened his grip on Tobias. ", especially me!"

Rolling her eyes at her boyfriend, Sarah moved toward the entrance. "No problem, Tobias. We're happy to help," she grasped James's arm, taking him away with herself. "That's what friends are for," she took her jacket from the hanger on pointed at it to others. "Let's go. We have no time for that, now."

While everyone rushed for their clothing, Toothless remained still for a moment. That's not what friends are for, he grinned under his breath, shaking his head. That's what family is for. He inhaled soundly and hurried to his coat, preparing himself for going out the same as others.

In the end, everything seemed to go in a good direction or at least a controllable one. Everyone drove their way, to fulfill their tasks, while Tobiad with James ended up in the red-haired one's house.

Notwithstanding the fact they didn't get much, except the clothes, Tobias was glad they came. Congratulations from Hookfang's father and his wishing Tobias the best were enough to soothe some of his tensed nerves.

Eventually, their path continued and they rushed through the city hall. Walking in, they were met with gridding Minden who again apologized and led them to her office. Inside everything was negotiated, like Hiccup's birth date, his name, and signing the new Henry's certificate. After it was done, Toothless's eyes swelled in tears at the view of his work.

Henry Hiccup Night

He did it, Tobias exhaled and loosened, calmed down. After that, glimpsing the empty place of Hiccup's godparent's name, he turned to Hookfang, who raised his brow at him. When Toothless pointed at the signing place, James squeaked a little girl, agreeing on everything.

Ultimately, when everything was done, a copy of the certificate was passed to Toothless who gaped at it for a moment, before hiding it. Afterward, they walked out of the city hall, chuckling to themselves. It was done, Toothless beamed brightly while they drove to the hospital.

At the place, he was shocked, seeing everyone was gathered at the parking, already. Moving to them, the girls passed him a whole bag of requested things, while he gasped, detecting the twins did what he had asked for.

They brought grant a new carrier, but nobody knew where from, and either asked about it. Finally Toothless confessed he was proud, causing them to almost faint with the overwhelmed of emotions. After emotions passed and everyone seemed ready, they walked into the hospital, together.

It was shortly after Tobias led them to the familiar door, and stepping in he was welcomed by smiling Atali. "We were expecting you," she moved to him and embraced him, tightly. "Minden called me. I'm so, so happy, for both of you."

"Thank you," he returned the favor, lightly. "For letting me create a bond with him, for taking care of him, for everything. I own you one."

"Knowledge my patient won't end up as an orphan is just enough for me," she moved from him, wiping her tears. "However, if you want to do something for me, know that I am a private pediatrician."

"I'll sign Hiccup to you, immediately."

While they giggled, both of them gazed to the side, hearing a loud clear of the throat. "May we?" Sarah whisper-shouted, with her head gazing through the door gap, the same way the other four as well.

Pointing at them, Atali glanced at Toothless. "Those are-?"

"My friends," his palm streamed across his face. "May they?"

"Of course," Amaya waved at the rest to come inside. "The more of us the better!"

It wasn't the moment when the mentioned group was all over the room, observing, arguing, mocking, and more While that, Atali leaned to Tobias, smirking brightly.

"Minden wasn't right. You aren't alone."

"Yeah, I'm not," Toothless nodded, sighing. "Well, we should head home," he straightened, glancing in the direction of the bassinet. "Is he sleeping?"

"No, although he'll soon."

"Good to know," he inhaled and came over to his son.

Glancing down into his sleeping spot, he observed a tiny figure, whose sight remained on the back plushie, before it went on the teenager before him. Hiccup smiled at him and Tobias chuckled, quietly.

"Hey, buddy," he winced when Hiccup squealed loudly, gaining the attention of everyone in the room, who directed themselves to them. "And what you have done," he mumbled, groaning. "Now, we'll have to deal with them," he lowered his hand to him and Henry grasped his pointing finger.

Stromfly was the first to appear behind his back, and leaned over him, beaming. "Aw," she crooned, softly. "He's so sweet, like a tiny pie!"

Meatlug and Hookfang joined shortly after, and their sights melted until James was forced to catch Martha from fainting. Glimpsing that from the other part of the room, Amaya frowned, concerned.

"Are you okay, honey?"

"Yeah, I am," Martha exclaimed, straightening. "I am a sensitive feeler."

"Prepare yourself then," Barf kneeled next to Toothless, snickering. ", because I doubt our overprotective Tobias'll take that boy wherever he goes, from now on."

"His name is Hiccup," Tobias snarled, shaking his head.

"He's so adorable," Belch appeared by Toothless's other side, scoffing. "I could get him in the oven and eat sweet."

"Maybe that was Tobias's plan all along?" Barf shrugged, sniggering. "From all along, he didn't require love, he was just hungry."

Rolling his eyes at them, Toothless glimpsed Hiccup, who tensed, frightened. "It's okay, buddy," he wished, stroking his little hand. "I know, there are many people around, but you have to get used to them," he mumbled to him, calmly. "No matter how annoying they are, they are your family now."

Immediately, he frowned hearing an affectionate gasping, until everyone's eyes widened at the sound of impact into the ground. They gazed at the source and detected Martha, laying on the ground. Witnessing everybody's eyes on her, she squawked, anxiously.

"I-I'm fine. I-It was too much," she sank into the ground. "Maybe that's for better. I'll just lay here for a moment."

Nodding at her, Toothless gazed at the Amaya, who tilted her head at him, confused. "Why you're looking at me? He's yours, now."

Taken aback, he blinked at her and then gazed at Hiccup and smiled. He's his, he hummed agreeing and took Henry in his arms while others made him space for doing so. Standing straight, he beamed at the tiny baby, who returned the favor, doing the same.

Their little moment was interrupted unexpectedly, but the sudden flash of light. Glancing at the source of it he furrowed, observing everyone with their phones directed at him and Hiccup.

"What?" Belch shrugged, staring at his phone. "We need evidence. Do you really think someone would believe us on the word?"

"Fine," Tobias grumbled, rolling his eyes. "At least shut down your flashlights."

"My bad," Meatlug raised her hand, guilty. "I always forget about it."

Ultimately, passing everyone, Toothless began preparing Hiccup for leaving, dressing him up from his hospital clothing on the diaper changing station. While he did, the girls gaped at each of his movements, making affection sounds, and occasionally stealing his work personal space.

James, who got overwhelmed with the pride of being a godfather, took his new position, seriously. Too seriously, Toothless growled, each time James attempted to give him advice on every single thing. If it wasn't for the baby before him, he would pounce at him five times, already.

Finally, Tobias let out a breath of relief, finishing his job. Raising Hiccuo into his hold, he shot James a short cold glare, causing the red-haired teenager to chuckle, anxiously. Afterward, Toothless moved to Amaya, who observed them all the time in the distance, and grinned at her.

"I guess that's it," he sighed and then gazed at the Hookfang. "Where is the carrier?"

"It's by the door," James pointed at there and rushed forward. "I'll get it."

Nodding at him, he focused on the Atali, who tapped his shoulder. "Please, just one more thing," she inhaled, straightening. "Mister Night, there is a tradition among my patients, by which before leaving they would let me take pictures of them. May I-,"

"Of course," Tobias's grin widened. "We would love to," he grasped Hiccup's arm and waved it, causing his giggle.

Immediately, Amaya took out her polaroid camera, but before doing anything more, she gazed at the rest of the group, that observed them. "It may be a group foto if you want."

"I-It might?" Marta squealed, while everyone gaped at Toothless, who shrugged.

"C'mon, we won't wait for you the whole day long!"

"Awesome!" Sarah exclaimed, rushing to Toothless's side. " I want a copy of it," she frowned at Amaya, playfully.

It wasn't a moment when everyone gathered around Hiccup with Toothless, and posed, while mentioned man inhaled soundly, before focusing on smiling awkwardly at the photo. Hearing the sound of the snap of the camera, he closed his eyes, peacefully.

Mom and dad, thank you for the gift of life. I used it, and I hope one day I would make you proud. I will take care of Hiccup, the same way you wanted to take of me. I will give him the happiness I always wanted. I will give him the love he deserves. I will give him something I didn't have.
