"Explain to me, one last time, why we have to go there?"

"Isn't that already obvious, Hookfang?

Hookfang, who sat by the wheel of the vehicle they were traveling by, narrowed his eyes, irritated. "No, and honestly, I would change direction, as long as we got a chance to do so," he glanced at Sarah in the passager's seat, checking herself in the car's window. "What will you say about fries?"

"I'm on a diet, that's first," Stormfly gazed at him, frowning. "Secondly, don't you think it's time, already?" She hummed, questioning and loudly. "I mean, to visit them, talk with them, ask how they are," she impacted her hand into his elbow, causing him to lose control of the car, momentarily. "Anything, James!"

Slowing down his heartbeat by inhaling, Hookfang avoided her sight, offended. "I'm just reminding you that he told us to leave them alone, didn't he?" He snorted and muttered. "As always, anyway."

"Exactly! As always! Since when you're worried about what he's asking for? Normally, you would burst inside his home without bother," she furrowed at him, concerned. "What changed?"

"Isn't that obvious?" James sighed, tightening his grip on the wheel. "Tobias became a father."

"And?"

"And I don't know how should I behave, now," he crooned, soundly. "I feel things between us modified."

"You are scared of what?" Stormfly scoffed, raising her brow. "That he turned into a completely another person?"

"Most probably. Also, I don't know much about children and I am the godfather of one. Of course, I could refuse when he asked if I wanted to be one, but could I really?" He cocked his brows at her, and she walked, defeated. "It's a great honor, but the problem is I don't know what to do with it," he stopped the car in the parking lot and resisted his head at the wheel, accidentally honking, momentarily.

Shaking her head obviously and grinning, Sarah leaned her forehead on his shoulder. "Listen to me very clearly, babe. It's a good thing you're stressed because it shows that you care," she hugged his arm, while he peeked at her, focused. "Don't worry about it so much. It's not your job to take care of him, but to support them, occasionally."

"Support?"

"You know, once in a while, maybe buy him groceries, or maybe guard Henry's asleep," she giggled, making circles on his tensed palm, loosening it. "I doubt that Tobias would let take care of Hiccup someone other than himself," she softened when Hookfang chuckled. "Anyway, don't trouble yourself about his attitude. Toothless has always been that cold, hard guy, for which we love him, so I disbelieve it can't be worse than it's now."

Nodding, James embraced her momentarily, before messing her hair and running away from her outside the car as fast as he could. In the meantime, she furrowed at him, closed a vehicle, and hurried after him, cursing him, soundly. Eventually, they were climbing the stairs of the building, and Sarah jumped with excitement.

"I can't wait to see that cutie pie's face!"

"I mean sure, Tobias may be handsome, but cute?" Hookfang snickered, squirming his eyes at Stormfly. "I question that."

"I was referring to Hiccup," she groaned and straightened. "I wonder, how much hair he has, or what's the color of his eyes?"

"Aren't they black? I can swear he had black ones."

"That's shocking, but they don't have to be," she smirked at him, raising her chin. "We discussed that with Meatlug, and find out that infants' eyes gain color about the second, or third month. It means his eyes were black, but now, they may be even blue!"

"You would love that, wouldn't you?"

"Of course! Blue is the most beautiful!"

It was eventually that they found themselves before the right door. Willing to knock on the James halted himself suddenly, stopped by an invisible force called common sense. In difference of mental support, Sarah helped him physically, grasping his wrist and knocking on the door for him.

Immediately, his eyes widened, but he loosened after a few deep breaths. Detecting that nothing has happened, Stormfly repeated the motion herself, and they traded glances, hearing a bump, followed by the footsteps, and hence, the rapid opening of the door.

"For fucking sake, louder, why don't you?!" Toothless, who appeared in the doorframe whisper-shouted at them, frowning raged.

Both observed the teenager before them, speechless. Tobias's hair gained its own gravitation, directing itself in every direction, messily. Under his eyes were bags, while the intense greenness of them lost any life. Grasping the doorframe he leaned over them, wiping his face, awaiting a response, which happened to be Sarah's sympathetic smile and James's loud snort.

"Don't you even try?" Toothless sighed stroking his eyelids. "I swear, I'm not in the mood," he gritted his teeth when James's attribute didn't change but worsened when he chuckled, covering his mouth. "You should be grabbed by that fucking fat neck," he tensed his fingers in front of Hookfang's face. ", and choked to the death!" He mutter-yelled.

Afterward, James stroked his neck at the image and bent in half when Sarah elbowed his stomach, as a punishment. Motionless, Tobias observed the act and after yawning walked back inside the house. His guests went just behind him, closing behind themselves the door, witnessing how the host collapsed on the couch face first, exhausted.

Shrugging, Hookfang took off his jacket, and helped Stormfly with hers, before hanging both on them. Later on, detecting a stroller next to the couch, Sarah's eyes shine with enthusiasm and she rushed in its direction.

Peeking at her upcoming presence, Toothless glared. "Wake him up and I'm killing off your boyfriend," he muttered against the soft material of the sofa.

"Why me?!" James mumble-barked stumped.

As an answer Tobias shrugged, sinking into the couch. After that, Hookfang growled, until Stormfly waved to him to join her in front of the stroller. Listening to her, he found himself next to her and both leaned over it, glancing inside it at the tiny, sleeping figure.

Squealing, Stomfly shook James's sleeve. "He's so adorable!" She crooned, quietly.

They both observed Hiccup, whose mouth was slightly opened, holding onto the blanket covering him and the ear of a black, dragon plushie. The tiny infant breathed softly, and both melted, while Sarah grabbed his arm, tugging herself to it.

"Do you see how much hair he has?" Hookfang whispered into her ear, leaning over her. "It must be half of his head's volume, and he's only three months old."

"Right," she nodded and gazed back at Tobias. "What's his eye color?" She squirmed her eyes, when instead of a proper answer Toothless scored, and smirked at James. "You can meet your obligations, godfather."

"You must be right," he bent over the stroller, staring at the tiny infant, wide-eyed. "Am I doing it right?"

"Very much," she giggled, shaking her head and pulling him backward. "Although, it's not time for jokes. You may accidentally wake him up."

Chuckling, they flinched startled, glimpsing Hiccup who squirmed, uncomfortably. Both of them peeked at Toothless, who lay still and motionless, unwilling to get up. Instantly, gazing at Hiccup, the little boy rubbed his face with his arms, whining, quietly.

Hearing so, she hissed, without much thinking took him into her arms, and rocked him, carefully. Melted, she gaped at his opening eyes and beamed, noticing their dark, forest-green color.

The moment lasted short because recognizing, or rather not recognizing, holding him in person, Hiccup cried, frightened. Forthwith, Toothless fell off his bed, causing Hookfang to burst into laughter.

"S-So, that was the earlier bump we heard," he wiped an invisible tear, and calmed down, after Toothless glared at him, furiously. "I'll shut up."

"Good idea," Tobias stood up and frowned at Stromfly. "What do you think you are doing?!" He moved to her and she passed him a distressed infant, over who he leaned. "You can't just take him! He doesn't know you!"

Focusing on his charge, he embraced Hiccup against his chest, rocking and shushing him. Consequently, he rambled around the room, while James glanced at Stromfly, who grasped the material of her pants, ashamed.

To comfort her, Hookfang encircled his arm around her middle, bringing her closer to himself, and after Tobias achieved soothing Henry, pointed at the mortified girl, grunting. Glimpsing so, Toothless sighed, soundly.

"Sarah, I'm sorry. It's okay," he pressed his cheek into sobbing Hiccup's forehead. "I understand that you wanted to help, and I appreciate that but please, do not repeat that, ever," he hissed, and hearing another of Hiccup's whimpers walked with him off to the bedroom.

Afterward, Hookfang gazed at Sarah and detecting that she wasn't reassured, leaned over her. "Hey," he mumbled, embracing her from behind and positioning his chin on her shoulder. "Didn't you hear him? It's alright."

"I know, but regardless, I feel guilty and selfish. After all, I held him primarily, because I just wanted, rather than for his good."

"Okay, I was wrong," he nudged his chin against her cheek. "You're terrible."

"I hate you," she growled, avoiding his sight.

"I love you too," he kissed her cheek, causing her to blush, pissed.

Eventually, they straightened, glimpsing Tobias, who slowly moved toward the stroller, with sleeping Hiccup in his arms. Peeking at them he glared warningly, and Hookfang rolled his eyes at him. Wasn't he overreacting? He crossed his arms, observing how gradually he lowered Henry into the stroller.

Finally, he regretted his thoughts, when after Toothless let go of him, the tiny infant busted into a cry, wide awake. Gritting his teeth, Tobias pinched the bridge of his nose.

"For fuc-," he bit his tongue, halting himself from cursing and taking Hiccup back to himself. "I'm losing my patience, you know?" He frowned troubled at his charge, who grasped his shirt, tightly.

"Tobias," Sarah stepped forward, worried. ", maybe it would be better if you calmed-,"

"Great idea," he murmured in between his teeth. "However, say me, do I have a reason to?!"

"Yes, you do. You see-," she squirmed her eyes while Hiccup cried out, loudly. ", he senses your anger."

Wiping her face with his hand, Toothless nodded, understanding. Immediately, he positioned Henry against his chest, so the baby's face was pressed against his shoulder. Subsequently, he kissed Hiccup's head, before leaning his chest at the same spot.

"I'm not angry," he tsked, rubbing sobbing Henry's back. "Maybe stressed, a-and annoyed, although you're right. I should calm down. It's just," he exhaled, pressing his lips together. "It was hard, these few weeks."

"Nobody said it's going to be easy, Toby."

"Any moment now, and I'll kick you out through the window," Sarah glared at James and bit her lip. "That is right. Nobody said it's going to be easy, but either nobody said you're not going to accomplish it and,"

"No, Storm. You don't have to. He's right," Toothless looked at the ground, tiredly. "Don't get me wrong. I like that new life. The first week was the best of my entire life. We spent time together, I got slowly used to a new routine, and everything was great," he smiled weakly at Hiccup, stroking his head. ", until it wasn't," he grimaced, tightening his hold on Henry. "Hiccup got himself some bad insomnia and can't sleep on his own. Every time I try to put him into that stroller, he would scream, as if I'm skinning him alive, or something."

"Is it such a huge problem, Toby?" Hookfang raised a brow at him. "Just lay with him. Seeing your state I can say you need to sleep yourself."

"I'm scared, James. I have so many bad scenarios in my head, like the one in which he'll roll off the bed, o-or the one, in which I'll hit him, or even worse, crush him!"

"You're overthinking way too much, Tobias," Sarah hissed, troubled. "Hiccup is too small to roll, and besides, you would never hurt him!"

"Not consciously, but accidentally-,"

"Unconsciously too!" Stormfly exclaimed and sighed, moving to him, closer. "Look, you won't believe this, but you have these parent instincts, that'll prevent you from doing any harm, besides-,"

"Stomfly, I doubt it. I do not even co sides myself his father! I," he swallowed, squirming his eyes. "I don't know who I am, actually. Maybe it wasn't a good idea after all."

"What the hell, are you talking about?" Hookfang furrowed at him, confused. "Even now I see what a great dad you are. How worried you are about him."

"Exactly," Sarah nodded, patting Toothless's shoulder. "Besides, as I was saying, you may just lay next to him consciously. You may not get much sleep, but that's at least for the first month. It's going to be better," she sighed when he avoided her eyes. "I can't persuade you, but maybe someone else may? Why don't you ask someone experienced? Did you call Atali about-,"

"No, no, I can't ask for help. I just adopted him! In what light it shows me off!" Toothless gazed at Hiccup, frightened. "I was supposed to be able to take care of him, to be the best for him If I call for help, it'll be sure I lied!" His eyes teared up. "What if they discover that I can't handle him? Will they take him away from me?!"

"No! Where that thought even came from?!"

"Stress, terrify?! I don't know! Toothless shouted and hissed guilty, hearing Hiccup yell in scare. Stroking his forehead, he succeeded to unnerve him, somehow. "Probably all of them."

"Tobias, it's okay to ask for help. It doesn't matter if you adopted him or not. They won't take him away from you, even if they knew what's happening," she stroked the forearm of the arm holding Hiccup. "I'm certain every parent goes through the issues. You can ask for help. In your case, it's even recommended! You're a teenager, don't be afraid to ask!"

"Also, don't think of yourself any less than you are, Toby," Hookfamg straightened, gaining everyone's attention on himself. "You are his father. Of course, you may try convincing others otherwise, but the truth is it's just a lie. After everything that happened, we all know you love him, deeply. It's the love only a parent would have," he nodded and snorted, momentarily. "Besides, stop pretending and let him on that bed of yours! It's selfish to keep it all for yourself!"

While Tobias grinned weakly, Stromfly grabbed James's arm. "We should go," she led him to the entrance, forcing his jacket into the hold.

"Hey, I joked! It's-,"

"They should go to sleep," Sarah narrowed her eyes at Hookfang, and nodding he began dressing up. "I hope that we didn't bother you," she gazed at Tobias, clothing herself.

"That's, that's okay. It was nice seeing you, again," Toothless exhaled soundly and waited until two of them stood in the doorframe. "Despite not inviting you, I'm glad you came."

"The same as we," Stormfly smirked, before leaning over Hiccup. "It was lovely to see that adorable boy, again," she squealed, playfully."

"Weren't we supposed to leave?" Hookfang grunted and Stormfly straightened, directing herself to the entrance with him. "Good luck, and stay strong daddy," he blinked at Tobias, and his eyes widened at the realization of his words. "Forget I said that. Bye!" He ran downstairs.

Shaking her head, Sarah waved Toothless goodbye, before following Hookfang's example and disappearing. Afterward, Tobias closed the door and moved with Hiccup into the center of the living room. There, he gazed at a little infant, who glanced at him tiredly. Kissing his forehead, he murmured to him, softly.

"Second time's the charm, isn't it?"

"Well," Tobias yawned, soundly. ", maybe the sixth time's the charm."

Carefully, he lowered Hiccup's sleeping body into the stroller and groaned when Henry cried, after touching its surface. Immediately, he pulled him upward to himself, squirming his eyes at the baby.

"Buddy, you're making it impossible for me," he frowned, but soothed, glimpsing how tightly the boy grasped his shirt. "There is no other way, rather than staying with you, or is there? Whatever it is, just explain me, and I'll take care of it," he exhaled loudly, rubbing his brows. "Fine, but I won't sleep, you get it? It's your fault."

Either Hiccup didn't understand him or didn't care, because he stared at Toothless, motionless. Keeping the infant closer to himself, Tobias walked into a bedroom, lay on the bed of it, and positioned Henry next to himself, in the middle of the bed, as far from the edge as possible.

Turning to his side, he observed how Hiccup make himself comfortable, wriggling a little until he loosened finally after Toothless stroked his forehead with a thumb. The older boy shushed him, softly.

"Go to sleep, buddy. I'll be here, all the time."

Glancing up at his face, Henry blinked at him and closed his eyes, exhaling, relaxed. At the sight, Tobias's heart melted. James was right, he stroked Hiccup's hair, gently. He loved him, wanted to be his dad, and Hiccup to be his son. Notwithstanding that insomnia, lately, it was the best time of his life.

Unable to stop himself from doing it, he leaned forward and kissed Hiccup's forehead, delicately. Afterward, observing how Henry's little body was raised and lowered sequentially, Tobias eased himself, and subsequently, closed his eyes, momentarily.

What was supposed to be a temporary rest, changed into five hours of deep sleep. Opening his eyes, Toothless was shocked, glimpsing the sun which was lowered into an evening state. Instantly, he wiped his forehead against the pillow, to remain awake. Suddenly, at the remaining of his purpose of being in bed, his eyes widened, but relieved, noticing Hiccup's little form next to his.

The little boy was snuggled next to his chest, covered by Tobias's arm, embraced by it. Smiling in his sleep, he grasped Toothless's shirt, and the teenager witnessing that beamed, joyfully. Afterward, he sank into the bed, gaping at tucked baby nearby him.

Maybe these two idiots were right about something, he chuckled soundlessly, stroking Henry's back with the hand of the arm encircling the infant. He protected him through sleep. Maybe he has that parental instinct. Eventually, while Hiccup's eyes were blinking awake, Tobias smiled at him, giggling.

"Good morning, buddy," he mumbled to him, weakly. "We caught some good sleep finally, didn't we?"

Looking up, also glimpsing Toothless, Hiccup grinned at him toothlessly, and the teenager couldn't help, but chuckle, amazed. Afterward, he sat up on the bed, leaning himself at its frame, and bending his knees, he positioned Hiccup against them. After the movement, Henry squealed, throwing his arms.

"Who would guess a good sleep works so great, right?" Tobias chortled while Henry stared at him, twinkling. "What? Not right?" He pouted and frowned fretted when tears swelled Hiccup's eyes. "Hey," he crooned, straightening and standing up, taking him into his arms. "What's wrong? Is something causing your pain?" He pressed the baby's face into his shoulder and his eyes widened, when Henry started chewing on the material of his shirt. "You must be hungry! After all, we slept through dinner," he grinned, directing himself to the door. "It's okay," he placed his cheek on the head of crying Hiccup, going through the door of the bedroom. "Daddy'll take care of you. He promises."
