"Ur is still alive!"

Laxus pinched the bridge of his nose, oh Mavis this just got twisted.

'What do you mean? I thought when you got here you told my grandfather she was dead."

"It's been ten years, Deliora attacked the city I was living in, Isvan. Not even a full day passed before it was obliterated. Ur and Lyon found me. They saved me. They just happened to be passing by at the same time. I swore I would make Deliora pay! It was that vow-it was how it all began." Gray pleaded trying to make them understand.

Laxus nodded in understanding. That didn't answer his question... This sounds like a long complicated back story is about to happen and by those few sentences the stripper had a fucked up past. He sighed, great. Cause that's how he wanted to spend his day. Learning about the pasts of his guildmates. If he wanted to do that he would have listened oh idk 8-9 years ago...

Gray continued to tell the story, Laxus was internally laughing in the beginning. So that's where he got the stripping habit from. Now it all made sense.

"So let me get this straight she made you run in the snow naked?"

Gray nodded. Laxus shook his head. Welp, his dad made him crawl into monster infested woods for food...all masters have their sadistic points... Though his dad was more sadistic than Ur it seemed. He scowled at that thought.

"She agreed to train me cause she saw some darkness in me, she wanted to seal away for me..."

Laxus winced internally, how many times had his grandfather said that to him now... Laxus thought about his father. Not to mention him being stuck in the shadows of his grandfather didn't help...he was just fucked up and he knew that. But after his father's amateur surgery, he had an anger problem and that hadn't gone away over the years...he could relate slightly to the kid.

"But I made a mistake." Gray said distracting him.

Laxus sat down on a nearby rock, "which was?"

"On the way passing through a town, I heard Deliora was in Brago..."

Lucy sat down next to Laxus, he gave her a look before before focusing on Gray.

"She tried to stop me. She told me I didn't stand a chance against Deliora. I didn't listen though I was so angry. That thing took my mom and dad away. I wanted to make it pay. I was blinded by so much anger..."

Laxus cringed internally once again God he hated that he could relate to a stripper ice freak in that moment.

"I told her if that thing killed me it was her fault. She should have taught me real magic. She shouldn't have let me be weak."

Laxus cringed again thinking of Lucy's words from earlier about sharing knowledge and experience and ugh...he did not need a lesson from all of this. The idiots needed the lesson not him..."your way has people sink or swim." Laxus sighed this Ur sounded like a way better teacher than he ever would be. Buty Gray was being an idiot, like the other three and took on a mission they weren't ready for so take that conscience!

"You were a little shit it seems." Laxus said.

"Laxus!" Lucy hissed.

"No Lucy it's true. I was." Gray said in anguish. "See Ur went after me, and she sealed it away in a spell called Iced Shell, it turns the caster's body into ice. It was her sacrifice that saved me and Lyon. Lyon got upset she was going sacrifice herself so Lyon was going to cast it but she stopped him. She made me promise to live my life to the fullest and I promised to be the best wizard I could be for her. She made me promise to tell Lyon she died. Lyon was a different story...Lyon saw it as I killed his dream. And blamed me for killing Master Ur. Which is true if I didn't leave that night then she would still be alive."

"It maybe your fault for going out and doing something completely reckless, but Ur made that decision. She clearly had a soft spot for you in her heart. You've done what you can of what she's asked you. Don't be too hard on yourself." Laxus grumbled. Lucy winced it was sweet but also rough way of saying don't be too hard on yourself.

Laxus looked at the ground silently contemplating Gray's words, he noticed the two of them staring at him in shock. "I can be nice when I want to be! So shut up!"

Lucy was giggling internally, he really didn't like being sweet did he?

Lucy was about to say something when she saw the temple.

"Uh guys, is it me more is the temple tilted?"

"What happened to it?" Happy asked flying beside Lucy distracted.

"I'm guessing Natsu." Gray said folding his arms looking over at the temple.

"I'd safely put money on that." Laxus grumbled.

"I don't know how he managed to pull it off but he's the only one who would do something that crazy."

"It's a pretty good idea if he did it on purpose," Laxus mused. The others looked at him funny.

Lucy looked confused.

"I'm sorry are you complimenting Natsu?" Gray asked in shock.

Laxus folded his arms annoyed, "as much as I hate to admit it but yes, if he did it on purpose, that was a really good idea. If flame brain was just being retarded oh well, the moon light won't hit Deliora now."

Gray and Lucy nodded in understanding. "Wait you're saying his habit of destroying stuff actually turned out useful here." Lucy asked in disbelief. Laxus snorted.

Laxus heard a noise coming from the trees. He looked over to the side past Lucy. Something was coming.

"Watch out!"

He grabbed Lucy and pulled her closer to him. She screamed slightly at the action.

Laxus was annoyed as crescent shaped blades were hurled at them. Lucy curled up against Laxus instinctually. Laxus cursed as some went and tore his jacket... Oh someone was going to die now.. Him and Gray gracefully dodged the blades. Poor Happy was knocked against a tree.

"Show yourselves!" He ordered.

"We've tracked you down Fairy Tail! We will not allow you to interfere with the Cold Emperor's plan!"

"Not these guys!" Gray complained.

"Lyon's minions?" Laxus asked. Lucy coughed, Laxus looked down realizing he had her face smashed into his chest. Laxus coughed, "sorry."

Lucy nodded, "it's ok! Thank you!" She blushed.

Laxus put her down. She walked away from him a bit. Laxus scowled at this. Why was he scowling?

"They are all around us!" Lucy cried.

"I can handle this." Laxus smirked.

"You sure?" Lucy gasped. Gray wasn't convinced either.

Laxus raised an eyebrow at Lucy. He saw concern in her eyes, he hated and liked it. He didn't need concern, and he didn't like that he liked having her concern. Someone cared about him, well that was wrong he had a team and a grandfather who cared ... But he liked it all the same.

"I've got this! Take Lucy with you, I don't need to be worried about her. You go settle things with Lyon."

Gray nodded grabbing Lucy's hand. "No- I'm staying here!" She said pulling out her whip.

"Would you go!" He growled. "I can't bring you back in one piece if you're intent on getting yourself killed."

"Sorry buddy you're stuck with me! Besides this is something Gray needs to do alone."

Gray smiled. "Thanks guys!" He said running off.

"You ready Blondie?" Laxus asked getting into a combat stance.

"How many times do I have to tell you," she said extending her whip forward. "Don't call me Blondie!" She said screaming.
